Not sure about storing it, but we have a patch in place that converts any voicemails to mp3 format before emailing it. Voicemail.conf has the 'externnofify' command, but I don't know if a) that runs before Asterisk sends emails and b) how to pass parameters (ie like the mailbox) to it. Aaron,any chance you've gotten that mp3 email file such that a blackberry unit can listen to it?
