First I nor sure if you can use the 7970 with SIP. LoadID looks for me the
bootimage does not match with the applicationimage. Mabe you have to erase
the flash (I'm not sure)

here is my config for Skinny Channel

venus:/srv/tftpboot # cat XMLDefault.cnf.xml
Default
callManagerGroup
members
member priority=0
callManager
ports
ethernetPhonePort2000/ethernetPhonePort
/ports
processNodeName192.168.100.25/processNodeName
/callManager
/member
/members
loadInformation7 model=IP Phone 7970P00308000100/loadInformation7
/callManagerGroup

and the boot and applicationsimage are
P00307020100.bin P00307020100.loads P00307020100.sb2 P00307020100.sbn

Hi,

Just trying to setup my 7970 with latest SIP image (SIP70.8-0-3S)

I referenced the page

http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+phone+cisco+7970+SIP

And used the following as my SEPmac.cnf.xml

device
devicePool
callManagerGroup
members
member priority=0
callManager
ports
ethernetPhonePort2000/ethernetPhonePort
/ports
processNodeName/processNodeName
/callManager
/member
/members
/callManagerGroup
/devicePool
versionStamp{Jan 01 2005 00:00:00}/versionStamp
loadInformationSIP70.8-0-3S/loadInformation
addOnModules
/addOnModules
userLocale
nameEnglish_United_States/name
langCodeen/langCode
/userLocale
networkLocale/networkLocale
idleTimeout0/idleTimeout
authenticationURL/authenticationURL
directoryURL/directoryURL
idleURL/idleURL
informationURL/informationURL
messagesURL/messagesURL
proxyServerURL/proxyServerURL
servicesURL/servicesURL
/device

But I get the 'LoadID incorrect' error

How do I find the correct LoadID?

I simply reset the phone everytime with **#** in settings

Thanks

Paul

Load information is the file that ends in .loads. Just use the name of the file minus the .loads.

I just checked mine, and it is the same as what you have. Do you have the firmware on your tftp server? Just so you are aware, the message indicator light does not work on that SIP image. And, if you are using any XML applications that work on the 7960, it probably won't work on the 7970. Presence doesn't work, and the 7914 doesn't work.

But, what can you do? There are tradeoffs with going with SCCP as well.

Going by all the examples posted (for earlier versions of the 7970 SIP
image) you use the SIP name as there is no POS file for the 7970 :-(

Thanks anyway
