The only thing to beware of is, if configure complains that you need a package that you already have, then you need the corresponding -devel package. There are advantages to packaging systems though. E.g. you never end up with an outdated module causing trouble in a newer version. You can probably make your own RPM's for CentOS 6 based on either the Digium RPM's for CentOS 5 or the Fedora RPM's for Fedora 15. Just download the source RPM and rebuild it; if you don't get any errors you are generally golden. For extra points, install mock and let that do the rebuild. /Benny -- _ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- New to Asterisk? - Original Message - Any time line of availability of Asterisk binaries on CentOS version 6. The beautiful thing about open source software is that the instant Centos 6 became available, Asterisk was available to run on it. Download [1], ./configure, make, make install, make samples. You're set. Now if you're asking specifically about RPM's available for C6, the official Digium repo's do not have them yet. If you are referring to RPMs from packages.asterisk.org, they'll appear in the near future. CentOS 6 just appeared a couple of days ago, so it will take some time to get RPMs properly built and tested. -- Kevin P. I stand amused that people want to experiment with VoIP and Asterisk - but aren't willing to: ( a ) Read wiki / manuals / faqs ( b ) demand packages for their o/s This ain't windows folks :) ./configure make make install Is really simple :) -Original Message- From: asterisk-users-boun...@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-boun...@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of A J Stiles Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2011 12:36 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [asterisk-users] Asterisk binaries on CentOS version 6 On Thursday 14 Jul 2011, Kaushal Shriyan wrote: Hi, Any time line of availability of Asterisk binaries on CentOS version 6. Now every time I have to write down what I selected for future reference. Is there a way to save its result for later use?
