What are the current best practices for running asterisk as SIP B2BUA?
Are there any sample configs online or the books that detail this
configuration for the newbies? I'm going to run it behind 1:1 NAT for
the clients in the public internet so I will use the externip, localnet,
and nat

BTW, if you need a generic, scalable, high-volume B2BUA, it is not a
best practice to use Asterisk for that purpose.

Thanks for your advice. Well, I'm not considering any commercial
products at the moment. I'm also checking at the moment what it takes to

Indeed. But you can grow some good SMB B2BUA systems out of it.
Freeswitch would be a grand alternative... if it had documentation.
