Re: [asterisk-users] Fax Problem on direct FXO port

2012-05-18 Thread Sebastian Gutierrez
Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply, I didn't change anything else, just changed spandsp
version to de FFA, I use the spandsp version with more success in other places,
but in this particular case, sending faxes works ok with both versions but with
spandsp I couldn't receive any fax, with FFA I may get 70% of faxes ok.

Your log doesn't seem to show a spandsp error. It looks more like a bad
signal. Did you change anything else when you installed FFA? Usually people
move the other way to improve their results.

Ah ! It's a jamming of Digium FFA user manual, ideas and tests from my
customers and myself.
From Digium's side you can/must acces to this WEB page :
https://www.digium.com/en/supportcenter/documentation/viewdocs/FAX

I love to check Digium's solutions and to know how to use them.
So, I have writed many how to's in french to install Asterisk and the main
extra solutions, gateways, IP-Phones with
provisionning, etc...
I often send this little docs to my customers and friends, to win time and have
a fast success.

You are not going to be able to use SendFax on a console channel driver,
unless you've got your console audio somehow hooked to a FAX machine. In
any case, the messages you got are not from SendFax, they are from
chan_oss, and you'll need to investigate that. This problem is not
related to your use of FAX, so it's not a 'fax problem'.

If I had to guess, I would suspect this is because chan_oss claims that
it can switch to signed linear audio mode (so Asterisk does not use a
translation path to achieve that), but can't actually do it.

TxFAX and RxFAX don't yet support ECM, and so you're going to miss an
occassional line. The frequency will depend upon the quality of the
connection between the two endpoints.

RE: [Asterisk-Users] Fax problem with Asterisk @home ver 1.0.7

2005-06-07 Thread Wiley Siler
Do you mean Asterisk @ Home version 0.7 running Asterisk 1.0.7?
The most recent release os AAH is 1.1 just in case you have nto seen the
release notice...

This is something covered repeatedly in the past so the archive will
yeild lots of data.
As I understand it, it is a matter or timing with the card and the
source.
Hit google with site:lists.digium.com fax timing

Apparently there is a tool to test the timing that can be compile (I
think) from Asterisk src.

I tried several times in the past to get this to work but never did...
As soon as I have time, I will attack it again...

Cheers,
Wiley

[Asterisk-Users] Fax problem

2004-01-21 Thread Christopher J. Wolff
Hello,

I'm running the 1/14/04 CVS and am having problems with faxes. I've tried
faxing through both a Cisco ATA186 and Sipura SPA2000. I have Asterisk, the
ATA186 and Sipura all hard coded to G711ulaw.

When the fax machine trains, I get a stream of errors in the log file. The
log is attached below. If you have any suggestions they would be GREATLY
appreciated. Thank you!!!
