Astmanproxy is just a proxy. It it just taking the load off asterisk for multiplexing multiple Asterisk manager connections, but it does not change the protocol (except to add a couple of features) unless you select one of the non standard plugins. I don't use many of the features of astmanproxy but it does work. I use it to capture events from several servers.
