With a PRI you just use the commands to set the CallerID in the dialplan. show applications. You can set the number, but not the name. The name will show up on the other end as whatever the telco has on file for that number. There is no way to set CallerID on non-PRI T-1s without dialplan hacks and you have to know HOW your provider expects you to send the CallerID digits. For example a provider might expect the dialed digits to be *ANI*NUMBER or something like that. Bell Canada lets me set CID name to whatever I want and it shows up on the other end as what I'd set. Where this stops working is when the call terminates outside of Bell Canada -- when it leaves the network the receiving network does the database lookup and overrides my name setting. I won't forget the day I called my ex at work with my CID Name set to HINDI HOTTIES (519) 690-6969 :-) -A. ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
[Asterisk-Users] xmitting CallerID
Attempted to get this info from Digium but my efforts have failed... I am thinking of getting a TE410P from digium. My local Telco uses B8ZSESF and does support PBX customizing ANIs on a per call basis. What I need to know is, can I use the SetCallerID command in extensions.conf to transmit the DID# of the extension making the call with the TE410P or is there a different one that does support, customizing your ANI. -Mark 707-735-1038 ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
