The kernel panic happens after I've booted from the USB drive and started the installation process. The install just stops after a few seconds. The target drive is untouched, as far as I can tell. Would it be helpful to see the console output? JT ___

Not yet. I'm going to try to installing Debian or Ubuntu via serial console and see if I get the same kernel panic. pfSense installs and runs fine, but it's FreeBSD. I got the box directly from Lanner with the storage and memory. JT ___ Astlinux-users
