Hi, In my experience never use more than one PCI card be it PRI or FXS/FXO on a system with that low power. I have seen that offloading FXS/FXO operations to SIP based media gateways (e.g. AudioCodes MP118 4FXS-4FXO) will enable you to conserver power. Since they have embedded g729, if you also ha

Tom, If you shop around you should be able to find either new Polycom 320's or perhaps some used or refurbished Polycom's or Cisco's for very reasonable prices. I'd suggest contacting a reseller and telling them you're looking for used or refurbs. I know I've gotten some open box IP 320's fo

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. Noted the FXS power issue. As for cost of channel banks versus PCI cards, I was looking rather at something like the Rhino board: http://www.voipon.co.uk/rhino-r24fxxec-24-port-analog-pci-card-base-board-wec-p-568.html Fully loaded with 12 x dual FXS, that wo

Hey Tom, You won't be able to fit 3 24x FXS ports into a single system because you will need too much power to supply ringing to your phones connected to FXS ports. The Mediatrix 1124 is about $1,600 brand new. The Digium 24 ports ePCI card sells for $1,530 at VoIP supply. The Sangoma 24 por

Hi Tom, Please be advised that running 72 FXS is a "power killer" requirement. FXS lines have to provide the power to the analog phones and you have to use a good/big power supply inside your PBX (verify that you have enough cables and reserve to power your FXS cards from the internal PSU) - O

Tom, I would recommend to use the Mediatrix 1124 24 FXS ports gateway. With 3 of them, you should be able to use regular analog phones. They sell for about $1000 each on eBay or $1900 brand new. It is cheaper than replacing everything with IP Phones, but you don't get all the nice features fro

Hello all I've been setting up some remote offices with net5501s, containing a combination of TDM cards for POTS lines and ISDN BRI cards. I'm using Snom SIP phones. Our head office requires a bit more thought. It currently has an ISDN PRI and three analogue lines, which I could handle in the sam
