Thanks a lot. This could actually be the case. How would I decrease the size
of /tmp /var in this new runnix environment?

By my observations, sound file are loaded, and played, but stick
around if they are needed again, but can be purged if memory is

As for the memory diagnostic tools, I am pretty much limited to what
Astlinux offers. Any ideas what tools could be used here?

It might be irrelevant but what architecture are you using? Mine is 586
generic. I even tried closing all the applications (not kernel modules) and
reopening them. It didn't solve the problem!

I have been running .4.8 for some time on an HP thin client with 128 Meg
memory, not expandable, and a 256Meg CF card, and have not experienced
any problem with it hanging
I have not made any memory usage check, though I have had no need to do so.
It has been running for over 25 days now.
Curio
Hi,
I've been using Astlinux for more than a year now. I had been using 0.4.8
until just recently that I switched to 0.5. I am running it on a small box
with only 128M of RAM (Ebox 2300). The problem with 0.4.8 was that it kept
hanging after almost of 2 weeks of running (every time). I would guess
