Re: [Audacity-translation] Finnish translation

Is anybody working on the Finnish localization right now? Can I just download the .po file and proceed with the translation? It would be good to move the localization into a platform like Translatewiki (http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Main_Page) so that it would be easier to participate in the localization project and also to collaborate on the translation. I've had a quick look there and it looks inconvenient to have a whole page for each word. I've been experimenting with using google-docs, but it isn't very good for long docs. But I agree we need to have a better solution. The .po file is not yet up to date. There are a number of i18n hints that have been added to the source code that are not yet in it, so please don't download it yet. --James. -- Better than sec? [Audacity-translation] Translation not possible
Hello, everybody. I have found some dialogues which cannot be translated in Audacity 2.0: 1. In Timer record..., the times are still shown in English, i.e. h for hours and days being in English. 2. Help Show Log: The title of the windows says Audacity Log and cannot be translated. Best regards, Thomas Breinstrup -- Better than sec? Translators on Linux can of course make their own audacity.pot at the command-line: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Translating_Audacity#Generating_the_.pot_file . So I think you should be OK now to download fi.po and update it from audacity.pot. I've still i18n hints to do for scorealign and spikecleaner. Also I want to clear up something and something: being different, and so needing to be translated twice. It is creating extra work. I'll post to this list when I have those done (expected this weekend). --James. -- Better than sec? Nothing is better than sec when it comes to monitoring Big Data applications. Thank you! I'll have a look at those too. --James On 04/04/2012 21:19, Thomas Breinstrup wrote: Hello again. Sorry, I forgot to include these strings as well which cannot be translated in Audacity 2.0: 3. Tracks Edit labels The labels of the various columns remain in English: Track - Label - Start Time - End Time, although they HAVE been translated. 4. Effects Equalization By accident, I had no curve on my screen, wherefore this box appeared in English. The strings are not available. Curve not found Requested curve not found, using 'unnamed' 5. Effects Degree of Levelling In Threshold for Noise, the last entry in the dropdown-box says Off-skip. Not translatable 6. Effect Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift The last entry says in English Dynamic transient sharpening and is not translatable. (By the way, can anyone explain what this is?)
