Re: Time of Castles

Hi all,

Sorry for the long delay in popping over here, I have been ill for the last week so I haven't been able to focus on my things online and I am just catching up with everything!

First of all, zub0 is 100% right. I originally built the game as a project whilst I was at university between 2006 - 2010. I then continued the project for one year after university but I got overwhelmed when I started working. I also hit a bit of a limit in terms of coding ability as I was trying to build very complicated features without having the right skill-set.

Since then, I have worked 5 years in two different companies and shipped multiple products world-wide so I have learnt a huge amount. I was feeling a bit nostalgic one day and I decided to post online looking for developers to join me on the project; something I had never done before.

I didn't expect much of it, but after about 6 weeks, I was contacted by Tom from America. He seemed like a nice guy, we s poke on Skype and the chat ended up turning into a 4 hour discussion about games. It was insane! We both realised straight away that we were both insanely passionate about building games and probably more interestingly, we had an almost perfect match in skill-set which meant that combining out skills didn't just result in 1 + 1 = 2.. it resulted in more like 1 + 1 = 10. Our speed to discuss ideas, build the structure and then get the feature finished has been incredibly impressive.

I originally built the game on a very casual basis. The game was something I was passionate about and it made me some money on the side. That is not my strategy this time around with Tom. Our intention is to build an extremely high quality game which can really go head-to-head with the best games out there. With our skill-set put together we will be building some really unique features for browser games.

The game is currently in it's early stages. We released it on the 1st December ( it wasn't meant to be official but people were already curious and refreshing the website!) so we currently have a few features: combat training for stats (which will be used in fighting other players and various other features we'll be adding), mining (to gain ores which initially will be used in just smithing, but we have other interesting plans there too) and smithing (build weapons / armour to equip yourself or sell them for money).

we are working literally every single day of the week. Tom and I are talking every day, discussing progress on our features which we are developing and we will be pushing new updates out hard and fast for you all to enjoy.

We really hope you join us on this epic adventure as we want to challenge the big games made by huge companies and show them what two ridiculously motivated developers are capable of achieving!

Hopefully we'll see you in-game!

Goose
