Issue booting windows

Hello everyone.
I'm back with another computer issue that I'm trying to solve. A few days ago, my windows 8. 1 computer shut down abruptly due to an unexpected power loss. Now, when I attempt to turn it on, it runs the automatic repair utility which fails to fix the problem, so it puts me in the advanced boot screen. I tried running a system restore, and it failed. However, upon clicking restart, the computer started correctly and said that the restore did, in fact, complete successfully. I thought everything to be fine, until I rebooted the system. It was unable to boot again. It seems that whenever I wish to start the computer, it first requires a restore. I've tried repairing and rebuilding the mbr which lead to zero success. I'm out of ideas aside from restoring so that I can boot into windows, and running a reinstalation of windows over my existing copy.
So I was wondering if any of you guys had any ideas?
Thanks.
