I just wanted to clarify this thread by saying what should be fairly obvious by now: Mavericks 10.9.2 is released, and fixes the worst of the bugs that caused VO to hang in Finder, Safari and Mail. I hope this makes people happier. URL:

Yes Chriss. The Dashboard does indeed both use ram and yur internet connection, depending on wat widgets youre running.Press either f12 or choose Dashboard from your apps folder to open it.Then do VO f2 twice to switch between your widgets.To close them, I think its VO command f2

Well, I see that this thread has galloped on just fine without me. The Dashboard does not consume RAM unless you start it. So, go into keyboard preferences and turn off all the access routes to it, and youll be fine. Same for trackpad preferences. The Dock is a red herring; dont

Hi.I actually did some looking around on the internet and found a terminal command which completely disables dashboard.lol! So now if I choose dashboard from the dock VO just says Finder, desktop and nothing happens. lol!Hopefully Ill be seeing Mavericks pretty soon, as I should

Heres one thing I want to know. The siri voice for the US english female... who is it? I thought it was Ava, but taking her for a spin on OS X I dont think it is. Shes way to breathy and she sounds like her nose is being pinched sometimes.. Whoever it is, I want that voice URL:

Hi.[[wow]], I havent seen those issues in Mavericks yet.Youre mentioning an undocumented shortcut on the Dock. Well, how can you expect that Apple wil keep this? Sorry to say, but how often are you adding things to the Dock? Whats the issue on pressing VO shift m on the Dock item

I have a lot of items in my Doc. Still running Mountain Lion. I didnt realize that used up Ram even though the apps arent running...Will have to research this to know for sure.Browsing in Safari just sucks worse. Thats ok. Safari and VoiceOver havent played nice for a few OS X

I think its time for we Mac users to be outraged. Im now using Mavericks on a fresh install. I didnt heed the warning in previous releases to avoid upgrading, but this time I dont have a choice. Now that Ive upgraded, Im disappointed. I think we know how much attention goes to iOS

From what Ive heard, the next big OS X update is going to be almost entirely devoted to voiceover fixes. I think the fact that its free is the big problem. It didnt contribute anything to the bottom line, so got much less attention. I suspect apple felt pushed into going free

while im never going to get a mac for several reasons which are off topic to get into in this thread, i have heard there are some issues with mavericks. such as the gmail issue, and others. not to mention the ones that have been posted here. one trend that is starting to develop

Hay chris do you get an upgrade plan as part of your phone deal? That was one of the reasons my brother and I chose the contract we did, we only had to pay some of the phone cost, the rest was defrayed across the time we spet with the phone provider, and should we want to upgrade
