Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!
It really is. All those emoji *everyone* is using,no luck with NVDA, Jaws, and I doubt Window-eyes has updated its unicode support for it either. Yep, $1000 and you can’t interact fully with your friends on Facebook. Now I will say that Microsoft Speech platform
Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!
OK, I just tested. If you ask VoiceOver to read individual glyphs, it just uses the standard nomenclature from the Unicode Consortium, i.e. freely available tables. So if youre saying that Windows screen readers cant do even that yet ...Now, granted that this does
Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!
Hi.Ive reasonly bought the chepest Macbook air 11 inch, and find it very cheep for what a great computer you get. Its extremely portable cause of its size, and it can also run virtual machines, which is surprisingly good for such a small computer in my opinion.Yeah
Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!
Meh. the iMacs are still way over priced for what you get That Dual coare ULV CPU and HD graphics are a kick in the teeth. Good to see the iPods dropping in price though.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=178502#p178502
Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!
Well yeah, sure, you wont get me buying that new iMac. Still, its progress. Naturally theyve got you roped in; seems the memory is soldered on, as one would expect from the great toymaker in the sky. But the specs seem otherwise reasonable for the intended
Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!
Honestly, i feel the best apple value right now is the macbook air, as its similarly priced to various windows ultrabook laptops. I cant think of why i would need an iMac to run OSX at all, as the tasks i would do, even virtualization, wouldnt need that much power
Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!

Hi all. I have a lovely late 2012 model mac mini, and really love mac OSX. What other OS has system-wide spell-checking, special character input, and a screen reader that can read any character unicode has to offer?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid
Re: Apple's Getting A Clue!
What, you cant do that in Windows yet--read any Unicode character? Nah, that *cant* be right, can it?URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=178616#p178616

You need to get extensions to your dictionaries to read more than the nonstandard Unicode characters. For example, most IPA is not read out of the box on windows screen readers...URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=178621#p178621
Apple's Getting A Clue!
Look at the prices for the low-end iMac, and the lowest-end iPod Touch.Hint: theyre going down! Hey, Ill never be completely happy as long as their prices are higher than they _need_ to be, but at least now they actually have a sodding chance of competing with equivalent

The iMac is an all-in-one computer, and the iPod is a smartphone without the phone, even though Apple markets it as a music player, and I think its the way smartphones oughta be ...Check out the Apple online store.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid
