I don't think there is a way to do that then. Maybe with the pro version if you mess with keybindings or something?

View menu -> toolbars -> address bar. Pressing enter on it will uncheck it. If you use the ribbon I'm not sure about that.

@Nuno, Yes you can. Xplorer2 can be set as the default file manager. You can do this by manually editing the registry keys associated with this or check the relevant checkbox in the Xplorer2 setup. Both will launch Xplorer2 by pressing windows+e and

The best idea I have, when that happens, is to press escape, hit backspace and enter. It's weird, but it's what I do. That's how I get around it.
