If you have access to a best buy, you should look at the easystore drives. These are WD red drives stuck in external drive enclosures and rebranded exclusively for best buy. They are also a bunch cheaper than the regular WD red drives for some reason.Edit :Just

Re: backing up XBox games
Probably a better idea. If you don't want to spend more than $80, I'd go with a regular hdd. I would be mindful of cheap ssd's (minus the ones that go on discount from trusted brands) as so-called budget ones are probably knockoffs that could become corrupted
Re: backing up XBox games
I'm thinking of going with a standard 2tb since SSD's are expensive.

Re: backing up XBox games
Game settings? I would think so, either way you would probably get them when you sign in to your Microsoft account on another machine. What with the play anywhere move on windows 10 I'm sure your game settings would already carry over anyway.

Re: backing up XBox games
Dude. Everything will be backed up to wherever you choose to back it up to. Once the console asks you to use the drive for games and apps, any games and apps stored on the drive will have their settings backed up as well. Otherwise what would be the point if, say

Re: backing up XBox games
SSD's will indeed work with the Xbox just fine. As for questions concerning formatting, the console will ask you, do you want to format this for games and apps, or media. Select games and apps, and you're off to the races. Hope this helps. As for brand

Re: backing up XBox games
SSD's are super expensive as 2ttb. Keep an eye out on discounts for 500gb's though as those are pretty common. In my experience Seagate's been fine, but then again I have a desktop fusion drive and the backup+slim is the literal backup drive.

Re: backing up XBox games
well, from what I found it will ask me to reformat it after I plug it in to the XBox. do I want a SSD or a regular one? Might get a regular one, don't have money for a SSD.

The xbox will do it for you, since the filesystem is proprietary and only the xbox can read it. Get a Seagate by all means.

Re: backing up XBox games
I'm sure you can put the games on it, I don't know if it will let you double them up, but then again, since you could just redownload if you had to, no biggie.

backing up XBox games
If I were to get a external hard drive what would I have to do to have it be able to backup XBox games? Would it be cheaper to just buy one that's already configured to work with the games? Could I still back up my XBox settings?
