Re: creating text adventures No, TADS is another interpreted language that has nothing to do with Inform or the z-machine. You need the TADS Development kit to program with this language. I've never tried it, so I don't know how accessible it is, but to be honest, it has kind of died out

Re: creating text adventures You don't need the quotes around the name of your room. Inform outputs to the Glulx format by default, and stores files in the Inform\Projects\name_of_the_project.materials\Release. It's possible to change the output to a .z8 file under the settings tab
