Re: how to use OCR
Correct. If you use Windows 10, better use the default one. It will always say blank if you have any type of screen curtain enabled.

Re: how to use OCR
@ficho, First off, we've said time and time again that you don't even need to use that add-on as NVDA versions above 17 can take advantage of OCR technology that's built in to Windows 10 itself. So do you have a specific reason why you're using this add-on? The only
Re: how to use OCR
ok. I used OCR on this page and used the keys in post number 12 and nvda sed blank. nothing more. just blank. I am using windows 10.

Re: how to use OCR
Then you should use NVDA's laptop layout. If you are, the laptop commands are NVDA plus right and left arrow for previous and next character, NVDA plus up and down for previous and next line, and Ctrl plus NVDA plus right and left arrows for the previous and next word
Re: how to use OCR
And what is the numpad key? I mention that I have a laptop, without the numeric block on the right.

Re: how to use OCR
@nidza07, I was confused as that add-on seems to also work for NVDA on Windows1 10, but as I am using Windows 10, I would have no need for this add-on, therefor my knowledge on it is limited.

Re: how to use OCR
He is talking about the NV access addon made for versions below Windows 10. You must use the NVDA review commands to review the OCR result after the recognition finishes, so for example numpad 7 and 9 will go line by line, 4 and 6 word by word and 1 and 3 character

Re: how to use OCR
Unless you're using Windows 8 and below, you don't need a dedicated add-on for OCR. As Brad said, in Windows 10, you can press NVDA+r (default bind, all keymaps) to trigger it. Otherwise, just read some documentation? I believe there are a couple of options, so I still

Re: how to use OCR
There are many ways of using OCR, which one do you mean, could you be more specific? For example, do you mean optical character reading of your surroundings with apps such as Seeing AI, or OCR functions built into screen readers like NVDA, JAWS and Commentary?@brad
