I agree with all of these posts 2 through 9. Advice for you, Mason. If you know a very reputable dev, Munawar for example, who has a trustable security system and with the knowhow to prevent such things such as passwords being accidentally visible and such, and you know that, in deed you are a progressively learning dev, then ask them for a bit of help, I have no doubt that theyd be happy to help you implement something of the type, if maybe even for a few dollars depending on if they want that or not, or at least do something to lead you in the right direction. If you wanna make this game shareware or even donationware you gotta meet some standards so as not to set users off. Do you know how tempting it is when you, as you stated in post 1, state that it is your decision to store passwords however you want, but its down to the users to decide what to and what not to do, for a person - just any person to so much as peek at that text file? Leaving secure data loose and 
 asking the users to not touch that 100 percent transparent datais like resisting the urge to open Pandoras box, if you know what I mean they may not touch the file, true to your word, but they will probably continually get curious as to what that file is and why it is let loose and eventually theyll get too curious, their patience will blow, and theyll open the file. Sure, there are people who can put up a steal barrier behind curiosity, but you just cant expect everyone to be able to stay true to your word, which Im gonna try and modify it to make it clear what you really meant youre basically saying, dont touch this file, even though I left it 100 percent transparent for yall to technically be able to access! This is vital when dealing with anything requiring online login. No matter what the decisions are, when you register for an online site, the user registering is putting their full trust towards that sight
 s owner to keep your information secure. In no way am I saying you are one of these people, but what if, for example: someone registered for an online forum. And that person truly believed their info was safe. And then all of a sudden that persons internal bs detector detected the rug was just pulled out from under them, because all of a sudden a million people hacked into their account at once. And that sites owner, untrue to his feigned promise of security, was an information dealer for hackers to catch up with? Thats basically what happens here, only this time, rather than the users trusting you, you are trying to trust them to resist the urge to open a completely visible file? Whos to say that this entire community will honor that request? Thats what a privacy policy is for man.

Doesnt necessarily mean Damien just ditched the project entirely. He has not completely dropped copyright on it just yet. As far as I know, according to copyright law: Note the info I have came from music copyright, but this may apply to software as well so Ill adapt it a bit. That copyright is not dropped unless 1, the company has officially made the project public domain, or or 2, it has been 70 years sense the companys closure yet they never officially dropped everything hmm who may that remind me of? The sound_worx account I have previously been posting with was hacked, and the password changed. Therefore, I can no longer post with it. I did not post this topic, the one who has taken my account did. I figured this would happen eventually, and I do not find it fair in the slightest. We at ultrocity, formerly sound-worx, care about the players security, and will be adding encryption to the passwords as soon as possible! I hate the line number crap. It makes coding extremely difficult. Also, Visualstudio, VS is up-to-date with C++11. Its the latest, most popular standard. And while GCC is up-to-date with the C++14 standard, you can still force VS to use that compiler, and pass all the options for GCCs usage through VS to GCC. So, your note on VS not supporting all of GCCs options is correct, but it not supporting all the optional extensions is incorrect, since you can make VS use the GCC compiler.

Moderation! When I saw the comment about hacking I wasnt exactly certain on this one, but Sljs comments about the e-mail address convinced me so the soundworks account is deleted. I did not ban it in case it caused issues for Mason, though I was toying with the idea of changing the password and e-mailing mason the new one, but decided a clean slate was probably better here.As usual with any web forum keeping passwords safe is a good idea, particularly if your connected to an online server as with a game.

If you were so desperate to keep your passes in txt format, you could have at least kept them in a dang folder on your hard drive? Dont you think that would have been a smarter ideaa? Hi,There are actually people employed to do this stuff (the so called white-hat hackers), and they get paid huge amounts of money to break security for companies. Indeed, I thought about doing this myself, but decided Id rather program the security rather than break it. :d But anyway, thats a bit off topic. If you really want security, string hash functions, as well as string_to_hex and hex_to_string would do it. Also, there are the encode and decode functions, which use base64, and Im pritty sure you could import a dll that does even more secure like things. I could even make a class that does this! Its honestly not that difficult and all it would require is an extra half hour of coding. Seriously. Code security. Until you do, I will never, in my life, play or use anything you make, and Im pritty sure a few people might agree.

Designed as a replacement for the corian mining freighter, these vessels have a top speed of 600, sporting a graviton ion power core engine, they can store a lot of cargo but are slow accelerators.Inovations cargo freighter. These ships are the next generation of light freighters. Storing twice the amount of cargo, these ships are capable of going at speed 2000 past lightspeed. The acceleration on these ships is slow and sluggish, but it can be upgraded at bakuan5.Inovations asteroid hauler. These small, box like starships sport a hypertech fusion drive en
 gine, capable of going at lightspeed. They are designed specificly for the process of hauling asteroids to any shipyard for credits.Dwarf corvette. This little cheap starship is a fast ship, and with good reason. I know the passwords werent encripted, and was still like a quarter of me believed the post 1 but deep down I really knew that was not done of Masons own accord. Hello all,Its been a while since I posted, but while I was gone, a friend of mine who is blind and I met up and we showed an interest in the SM life-style, and they showed me this accessible web site called (link removed by moderator), There are groups for disabled kinksters, and blindness is part of that. We also decided to start a Facebook group. The problem is that many of the Fetlife users dont want others to know that they are on FaceBook, so thats why its secret. The only way you can recruit members is if they add you as a friend and then you invite them. I was hoping to propose a new feature where you could give them the link to the group, and you would have to enter a password to get in.What are your thoughts?

Hmm, it is possible that when I implemented the change to stop ban evaders from getting on, as they were getting really out of control, that it might have unintentionally effected you. With out a full description of the problem, I cant fix it. Does it just not connect at all as in it says connecting to server and sits their, or does it connect, but freezes as soon as you enter a name. In other news, 2 things to announce. 1, ive decided to take another break from development for a while, this doesnt mean I wont be on the game. Ill still be on the game, but id like a little bit of me time to relax for a while, hents this means I wont be participating in any roleplay events or the like. However, I do have an importent question. As no dout aware, we do have a number of old ship classes which, when intraduced, were ground breaking of their time, but really now, are technilogicly out of date, and not used at all. The ships that im refering
  too are the corian mining freighter, the nova transport, and the old stile planet cracker. The corian mining freighter is already do for removal as is the nova transport, but the planet cracker I need a bit of feedback on. This is the six million credit planet cracker, the one only capable of doing the old stile of planet cracking. Ever since the new methid of planet cracking was intraduced, ive seen it get used less and less. Its main use now appears to be only for an asteroid mining vessel, far from the perpice for which it was built, and the new methid of planet cracking is far supyrior and makes way more money then the old process. So, I came to ask. Should the planet cracker be retired from service as a starship class from the game, and if not, why should it remain in service. Do keep in mined, youll still be able to maintain and use your old fleet of planet crackers, and the firestar planet crackers and turbograv g51 planet crackers will still of course stay.

As the subject says, I am looking for apps for mac or pc that will allow me to make free phone calls to numbers in the US. There is magic jack for android and i OS, but the pc version doesnt work the same way. The pc version requires you buy a device to connect to your pc, then you have to use your existing phone number on magic jack. The mobile one is more like what Im looking for, but it is not for pc or mac. It makes you create a free account using your email address, and a password. Next, it will send you an activation code, that you have to put into the text box. After you get the code from the email address you typed in, you have to paste it in, and youre good to go. No hidden fees, and no in app purchases, unless you want to make calls outside the US or canada. The disadvantage is that you cant change the number you get unless you already had an account on the pc, and signed in on your phone or tablet. Im looking for something
  similer to that. Ive researched and came up with apps that were iether spam, made you pay for minutes, werent usable, or were all of the above. Please give me some advice. Most people would be at their phone more than their computer. I am the opposite. Im aware of google voice, but why would I want to have to answer another phone just to make a call from a different number, when the point is, that I want to keep this on the computer, and only on the computer.

@slj Because, in the dm timeline, earth is practicly a meer shadow of its former glory by the time dmnb takes place. The timeline doesnt mention, but the old site that was ran by track mentions that in the 2130s, the G F A swarmed through the sol system with retro class destroyers obliderating everything in their path, accept earth and the sun itself. Hents, earth is decimated. So no, in the dm universe humans dont really have a point of origin as it were, were all spread out through deep space. And since signis alpha is the place where acadamy graduats are put, thats the games starting location.

Hi,A few things you could try. I know youre looking for free programs, but if youre willing to put in a few bucks, I find that skype calling works quite well. Also, if you have a mac computer, you can connect your phone as a device and make phone calls directly from your mac. Just thaught Id put these up just because well why not.

Unfortunately, I am unable to enter the sound_worx account anymore. I had some hacking problems recently and am guessing that it was taken along with everything else. That is something I could not help at the time, but I am going to fix this problems. Now, it is not possible to get the UP passwords anymore, so that part is fine. Im very sure that a lot of people are bashing on me for whatever reason, which is fine, but Im hoping to fix this.

Yes, mistakes have been made with respect to player information, however that is no reason either for players to turn into a linchmob, or for developers to start resenting their players,  sinse Im afraid Sterlock is also correct, the Im sorry but you shouldve done so and so is not the way to defuse a situation or appologise, just as an endless litany of condemnations will do nobody any good.Might I suggest everyone just move on.

there is only one problem. You have to be on the same wi fi network as your phone, and you also have to use horrible, battery guzzling, disgusting bluetooth. I also dont have a credit card. If someone has a working android virtual machine that is compatable with vmware fusion, please upload. Please note, this vm must, i repeat, must! be able to use a microphone. The only reason why I say this, is because there is an android vm for virtual box, which doesnt have the ability to have microphone input, and the sound card of most windows pcs from del dont like the virtual box soundcard, so talk back wont work, no matter how much tinkering with the vm, you do. I know you can convert virtual box vms to vmware vms, but, that particular one I saw, again, doesnt have microphone input, no matter what pc you use. The sound card thing can be fixed, just by using a supported soundcard, but the microphone thing isnt computer related. That is an iss
 ue in the vm, its self. The person who made the vm rooted his ice cream sandwich tablet, and somehow managed to turn it into a vm. Everything works fine, accept the phone, because there is no sim card, and the mic. You can get apps from the play store, and use them. Some apps, for instance most games, or apps that require explore by touch wont work, even though you have mouse emulation of the touch screen. You can turn explore by touch on, but it still wont work. Again, that is not anything you can fix, by means of virtual box, or the vm. I, however, do recommend this vm to people who are considdering a purchase of an android device. Please note, this vm uses your keyboard, so for experienced android users, its exactly like using a bluetooth keyboard. For newbies, on any android, vm, or real machine, bluetooth keyboard navigation is just like navigating in NVDA or JAWS. arrow keys move through menues and content in a window. Enter acti
 vates or does the default action for the selected item. For instance, if you were on a check box or button, it would press or toggle it as checked or unchecked. And, by the way, virtual box for mac is so not accessable. @momo, im afrade your a bit behind the times. The planet cracker, as far as im aware is not well that used, and colony supply delivery missions give twice the amount of money that planet cracks with an old planet cracker do. Besides just being used as an easy way to make money, why should it stay? For the moment, custom ship requests are on hold, but you can upload it to dropbox and let us see it. However, be aware. I wont accept ships with 100 or more hull, super unbeatable plasma cannons or that sort of the like. And if you do intigrate such features, their has to be some flaw in the design to keep it balanced, such as horid acceleration speed that makes it difficult to maneuver. That way it is still beatable in combat, with enough force and the right maneuvers. Getting back to the planet cracker thing, I want a better reason then, it makes so much money I can feed an entire spacehouse with it, is their a redeeming feature which is worth me keeping it aroun
 d, or is it sitting in shipyards collecting dust and debris. Keep in mined, the firestar holds more cargo last time I checked, and mines twice as fast. @tan, its likely you were effected by the new ban system that was put into place when I band a few ban evaders trying to sneek on, try it with your laptop when it comes back and well see if that fixes things.

Hi, delete stress breaker, code it better, then re-upload it. You cant even quit by pressing escape or alt f4 and it just loads up much on the ram. You have to end it with task manager.

I believe I understand all of your points, even if I dont share them. I am sure this will happen again, but it will not be anything of my doing. I did all I needed to do. Oh, and Sam, I am very sorry because this may piss some people off, but I have to say that if Mason is just sitting in his room crying about his sourcecode and not implementing security in and being generally pissed off at life, after what happened? well, momo7807. ill tell ya how not to die cause of thirst when the sun is down. first, try to get out the beach. i believe you can do it. then, if you came into the forest, the stream is to the left of you. if you came into the clay area, the stream is to the right or ahead of you. the sun sistem is great, i keep saying that. sam, dont even think about bringing the coords system back! well, the ability to craft a compas looks like a compromise, but crafting shouldnt be easy. i dont know how you think about it and what you can do with this, but we probably could get a metal wire from the fence near the camping site. may be its not about compas, but you can get some ideas if you pay your atention

A suggestion just came to my mind while typing this post, which in my opinion would make the game much much more realistic: Why not make the earth the main starting point for newbies? That is one dream come true! I will probably get SF V on ps4, but KI on pc... heck yeah. Rock it! I just wish theyd complete the game and release the whole thing. Addons are fine, but Im not a fan of season packs for fighting games... especially when you have to spend so much money getting each season or specific characters from each season. Id rather just pay 60-70 bucks and get the whole game. But thats just me.

The game will say new update available downloading files and then pause for a while. It should give a report of progress in terms of percent completed. Aaron can correct me if Im inaccurate in any of the major details here.As to the ammo command youre right a will track that. As to switching weapons. We considered that as an option, but, in the interests of simplicity we decided to have the game use your best (i.e. most damaging) weapon first. This does mean sometimes youre using the revolver when it might not be as advantageous to do so. I think theres two ways of looking at that though:Even a rattlesnake, one of the weaker critters on game can do some damage. The revolver can often kill this beastie in one hit. If you do so, yes, you have to go b
 uy more ammunition if you want a full cylinder, but youve avoided damage.Or:You wasted a bullet on a critter that isnt really worth it.Just as a note in this regard, bullets are 1 dollar each. Medicine is 3 and surgery is 12. For certain settings the revolver is always a better choice to my way ofthinking. However, that said, as I noted in an earlier post, the tough hombre is probably better off with the night stick, knife, or scalpel. Im going to copy and paste my section on items from the documentation update here to help explain this possibly a little more clearly.Thanks again for the questions and feedback. Weapon items are meant to be used by the player in combat; decoration items are meant to be sold for extra cash. A brief discussion of each type follows.Weapon items can be classed roughly into four groups:1. Punch: This is the weakest weapon in game, however, the character comes equipped with it from the beginning. A high strength score might add to punch damage.2. The broken bottle, the razor, the knife, and the brass knuckles are marginally better than punching. A high strength adds to melee damage with these weapons.3. The scalpel, night stick, and hammer are all the most superior melee weapons. A high strength contributes to their damage.<

 ocumentationI hope that clarifies things a little better on the item front. Its possible that unless youve played the game a lot and searched obsessively that you hadnt found all of these items. Some of them are sold in various places on the map, but most are hidden on the map. Some, such as the leather pouch or night stick, are always in the same locations while others, such as the silver belt buckle, are randomly placed. Jeremy here:Dark,Aaron and I are working to implement some of the suggestions already made in the forum in the update I mentioned earlier. For instance, inventory menu is definitely going to be in. As to tin horn getting a raw deal:1. The tin horn is better at searching.2. The tin horn does have a better chance to avoid hazards than either of the other two.3. The tin horns better perception makes him or her better with pistols than the other two.The tin horn is meant as a more challenging setting. My advice to anyone trying the game for the first time is to try new hand for a while. Feel free to experiment with the other two, but tough hombre and tin horn are meant as different challenges to play style.As to the hp status, Aaron and I are still discussing this one. Hidden hp of enemies I think is a good thing, it brings home the danger more. Having your own hp flashed as part of combat
  is problematic. To some players its a necessary item, for others its extra unwanted slow down to combat. The l key gives your current health and works from the menus. That said, its still up for debate, and were debating and taking into account things said here as well as other comments made to us from other points of contact.As to the money spent mechanic. I think it does add a certain challenge to the game: you can either be a miser both of points and money, and try to finish the game with the most of either. Or you can use your money for various items: whiskey or haircuts to increase your courage, bullets, better weapons, or surgery to improve your combat. I understand the frustration involved, but really, the most money I ever managed to spend in a single game was I believe 75 dollars. When your score is measured in terms of thousands of points, a negative of less than 100 doesnt seem as huge a probl
 em to me. For a successful game, just as a comparison, the scores I have seen have ranged from approximately 29,500 to 33,030 or so. That said, while were revisiting other aspects of the game, well look at the cash spent mechanic and decide what we want to do with it. I am not so sure I agree with your being hit twice for it: yes it does impact your score both for not having that cash, and for being penalized, but my feeling is that given the amount of benefit you get from spending it its worth it. However, Im one person, and my play style isnt the same as everyone elses, and neither are my scoring tastes. Thanks for the feedback again, as always, we appreciate it.Jeremy
