I don't think there's a way to destroy the Giant Bees, unless you can find something that hits that high (I don't think you can throw the iron balls up there, but maybe try that?).As for the boss--do you mean the boulders in 2.3, or the generator in 2.4? The generator flies around when it isn't generating enemies, so you need to listen for when it moves vertically and hit it when it's in range (the rope and anything else that has height to it helps).If you mean the boulders, they respawn until you complete the level. They are excellent for leveling up for a while, though, so if you can figure out the best way to damage them, that'll help you a lot. I don't remember which weapons are best for this, out of those you have already; the trickiest part is timing more than anything, since you'll need to hit them several times, but they move so quickly and take a while to come back from the other end of the level.(If you haven'

An easy way to stream microphone and game audio?

Hi everyone,Previously on Windows, I used to use Total Recorder with it's mixer and streaming addon to do this with some success. A new version of Total Recorder just came out, which fixes a number of bugs, the major one being that when you were using it with NVDA, the Window would just hang there when closed. No longer.There were some problems with the streaming addon. There was some stuttering on the stream audio. They fixed this, but took away the option to mix both PC Audio and Mic input for streaming, that can only be recorded now.That being said, what is the most easy way to do this? Should I get Edcast and just use Stario Mix?Thanks.

The bottom line is, it wold more than likely require custom modification of the forum software to get the feature, and just look how long it's taking to fix the profile editor here. When I get to recording the rest of the game (I actually ended my recording after the Gray Lady), I'll probably do the same thing, that is upload the recordings to my own server.Might be a good thing to have different play-throughs with different styles and everything, so I'll be looking forward to seeing the differences myself.It's also great that KeyisFull recorded his sorta speedrun, that is without any talking and without the cut scenes, trying to beat the game as quickly aspossible. Such variety of recordings with different approaches should provide more than enough tips for those who are struggling with the gameplay.I believe this is proof of the game's true uniqueness and value, and of the interest it has actually sparked in the community - as far as I know, no other audiogame has received so many different full gameplay recordings so far.Lukas

Hello,I was wondering if you guys could fix that annoying turning bug. If someone is standing on tile 20 and I'm on tile 21, I have to hit right arrow once to step to tile 22 and then left arrow back to 21 just to hit them. It would be much more intuitive if we used the turning system to do this, but modify it so that we use shift+arrows instead of a, s, d, and w. The other thing would be to add shields for defense. We could use the down arrow to block some incoming attacks, but after ten hits or so, the shield would automatically break, exposing you to enemy attacks once more. It is something that helps particularly in fighting players who are 100 levels higher than you survive battles a little longer.

mason, finally rezlizing he didn't have enough motivation on this game, has put me back on the dev team. However, nobody is in charge of it, completely. It's his game, and I respect that, and he's still working on it. But he put me back on for snappier updates and fixes. So me and him are both developing it, and we're gonna keep it that way. I also use Pure Basic. I like it because its so easy to write code in and is every bit as powerful as C/C++, and the programs it generates are just as fast, if not faster.I've been programming with Pure Basic now for about 12 years. I migrated over from Power Basic which I found virtually unusable, to me, it seemed like an attempt to make a line number oriented DOS basic into a structured programming language for Windows. The end result was, in my opinion, yuck!I also use Visual Studio for C/C++ to maintain marketable programming skills for possible employment.I'm currently working on my own audio game engine, primarily for the challenge it represents and because I'll fully understand it when it is done. At present I don't envision ever releasing it, but that could change if I think its good enough. My intention, for now, is, for it to just be something I'll use for my own games.It's being developed in parallel with a coupl
 e of audio games I'm also working on. The game engine makes writing the games easier, and the game's needs drive the development of the engine.

I also found another bug.Warning Spoilers ahead.If you go to the dead body and get the axe, and then return to get the lockpicking kit the shack won't ope. However if you get the kit first it will open not sure why that is.

And for storage that's accessible where ever I go I just use flash drives. I have one that's barely bigger than a mechanical USB plug that holds 64 GB. I find it very unlikely I'll ever need more storage than that for files I need with me all the time.

I think side scrollers have replay value, but it depends on how they are developed. Ultrapower is a good concept, but there are flaws in it. The leveling system is quite corrupt and was largely taken from Swamp, where players don't fight other players, as is the case in Ultrapower. Also, certain mechanics like the turning system have been broken, making it more difficult to target enemies. So, another shooting side scroller wouldn't hurt; instead, it would provide players with a much needed alternative.

okay well, I just started playing this game. And I really like it. But I am a little stuck. I can make it past the first part of windows and the first boss, but the second level I can't even get past the first part because the enemies take way to long to kill and they endup ganging up on me and killing me. Are my attack and defense values supposed to be really high by this point in the game? Or even moderately high and if so should I go back and atempt some more achievements?

Flash drives are definitely the best for portability, as well as wireless hard drives for portability as well as extreme-capacity, but the trade-off with those is that they do need to be charged. However depending on which one you get, with any luck the wireless hard drive may charge through standard mini usb in which case you could get an extremely short 3inch OTG usb cable and a n external battery to expand the life of that drive.

The demo has now been updated, ghost mode should no longer occur. I've also added by request, a North sound indicator for when you are not in compass mode, just a guide to help you when in rotation mode. Additionally, for your convenience, I have also added a direction snap, which can be used by pressing F or the left trigger on a 360 controller. This will cause you to instantly face in the next compass direction (North, East, South and West). These are indicated by different pitches from a sound effect, the highest pitch is north and a small bing is the North indicator when just walking around normally. Additionally, to help guide your way, is greater scanning distance. You can scan ahead from your facing direction by pressing the space bar or Y button on the controller. at JeffB, make sure that when you open your inventory you press left or right to find the item you want to use, then press enter. Then impact the hatchet door. If you have the axe equipped it will break open. If you bump into the hatchet door first and then go to inventory and choose the axe this also works to break it.

Hahaha the problem I have with Flash Drives is that I lose them. I had a collection of small stories and scenes I'd written through out last year in high school on a flash drive, can't find it now. So I generally use dropbox for most of my storage needs, it does the trick well, but that's entirely my preference.

No, this is in a vmware virtual machine. The only device in input device section of the audio tab of sounds and audio devices, there is only that one device, the creative soundblaster pci. Technically, the soundcard in this machine is a creative soundblaster ensonic1371, and the physical system in question is a macbook pro2015.

Jack;Your experience is different from mine, my Seagate Free Agent USB drives don't need to be charged, as far as I can tell, they are low power 2.5 inch hard drive so the USB port can provide all the power they need.Steve;LOL! I hate to laugh at the unfortunate problem of loosing flash drives, but the way you put it, I couldn't help it. I've been fortunate, knock on wood, but so far, I have never physically lost a flash drive. I have however had one go bad on me, taking with it everything that was stored on it. I've tried the new demo and it seams that the ghost mode is gone completely.I also finds the direction facing sound is really great. also, I have one more suggestion: can you expand the demo a little bit? it seams to me that the demo version is too short.I want to know after I talk with filch and unlock his cell, then I go to the other dungeon cell and it says thank you for playing.also, in the hallway, it seams there is a interactible torch. when I press it, I hear something opens and then a sound plays. what's that? is it a door to a secret area?

Ah, thanks for the links.I found that straight RGB values were actually pretty hard to interpret on their own, so I made it possible to assign sounds to specific colors.Were you reading the RGB values directly as numbers? Or some other way? I've shifted to working on measuring the RGB values of an image by using 3 different wave forms to represent each color, Sine for red, Saw for green, and Square for blue, with volume used for brightness. When the user moves over a pixel all 3 waves play simultaneously, and the volume of each wave is adjusted based on the RGB values, this gives each color a unique finger print that, hopefully, can be recognisable. I've uploaded a sample here, which gives the tones for red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, purple, and white. I'd be interested to see what you think.I also find your color 
 ID approach with color names rather interesting, it could be quite useful for helping to identify color types, although I tthink I would also add in a modifier to let users know if a color doesn't exactly match a set color, like a color thats near viridian would be called "custom viridian", in addition to users being able to view the raw RGB values.

@liverobo: No, mac update, rather confusingly, is not an update. It's just a repository of extensions or applicactions, free and paid, whether it be in the appstore or not, for the mac. It's like a mac-only softonic, and even softonic isn't great. This is why, always, always! just get packages from developer's websites. In deed, this is the very reason why additionally adware is being distributed in android. Now hwy am I comparing the two different platforms? Simple, they both in one way or another have an open-app system. Advertisers take great advantage of this. Hell, the recent adware attack on android distributed supposed-to-look-legit apps, like facebook, and stuff like that, with irremovable adware. As in, even a factory wipe wouldn't delete the adware, because it would inject into the system. Ugh. Damn advertising.

If you're talking about usb2.0, that should be already on your computer. Most new computers have that, in deed as of end of 2014/15 most are usb3.0 anyway. If you don't have usb2.0, check that system and see if there's a bios upgrade that will add n usb2.0. You will, however, for sure need  sighted help.

When you complete a stage, it usually unlocks a shop for that stage. Since you're in stage 2, you can go to stage 1, and below 1.4, there's a shop. I don't think there's much there; the shops get more advanced as you progress through the game. (Like, for now, the most efficient way to heal yourself is to play 1.3 to get more riceballs, but you can eventually buy better healing items, weapons, shields, strategy items, etc).This doesn't always happen when you beat a stage, but I don't remember if this game uses the same trick from BK2 (where you get 3 shops at once, because you had to beat three stages in the jailbreak sequence).

Eh. I guess I just can't get into the groove of how Avalon is executed. For example, I'm used to muds that save your eq. Avalon saves some, but discards others, just tossing stuff on the ground when you quit out. This essentially means that if you have stuff you were planning to sell, you have to do it before you quit out of the game, which is not always feasible for me as I often have to leave in the middle of gaming sessions.Furthermore, I thought the game was free to play, with payment only items and perks. This is not so -- you need to either subscribe or obtain sponsorship. On the surface, sponsorship may sound simple and straightforward, but I'm a very lone wolf type of player when I hop on to a new mud. I don't particularly seek out much interaction with other players, and I like to solve problems on my own. This means I don't really want to go running to other players begging for sponsorship -- I like remaining under the radar until I'v
 e had time to see whether or not I like a game, nor am I willing to subscribe to the game without knowing if I'll like it to begin with. I wish the pay-to-play nature of the game would've been mentioned in the novice intro text.I think the timer counts down while you're offline, too, since I'm not even all the way through my first school enrollment and are already prompted to either seek sponsorship or subscribe, having exited the game and returned a few times as opportunity permitted.It looks like a great game for those who aren't antisocial about their muding habits, and it seems superbly complex and detailed, what with all the skills and abilities. What's more, it automatically wins points for the accomodations to blind players -- I just don't think it's the right setting for me. Off to find a similar mud that doesn't require so much interaction and reliance upon others for progression.Kai

Flash drives are good, but there are no 1tb flash drives, so wireless hard drives are a good option for those who wanna keep the portability without cables, and keep extreme capacity.

My first podcast, and as far as I'm aware first podcast audio walkthrough, of Edge of Winter demo gameplay is now available.It explores the main courtyard outside of the castle as I try to figure out a way in. While I did read someone's post detailing exactly how to get in beforehand, I had forgotten about it since I hadn't read it in a while. It was also my first time using the Compass mode, and I couldn't figure out how to find the entrance on the second bridge, I.E. couldn't figure out if the bridge I was finding was actually the second bridge.Give it a listen and I'll start part 2 once I have a grasp of this Compass mode, as I do find it overall easier, but how to know where I am without having a way to tell which direction you're facing, especially in Rotation mode.Podcast is at:http://www.orinks.net/uncategorized/edg … courtyard/Hopefully the full version will be out soon; I'll probably be deleting these demo podcasts once it's out.
