I don't think window eyes has ever been used in a bgt game before. Sam might need to switch to the tolk library to get we support, and even then it might not include it. For all I know tolk only supports nvda, flaws and sapi. I do agree with draq on the donating ishew. I faught against a certain person twice allready. They had so many pop cans that their energy could never go down no matter how much I got him to run after me. Another problem was that conversly, my energy was going down fast and soon I could only limp away from him while he came at me grenades and spears blazing. From what I know, there are players with hundreds of death cards running around, who are imune to just about everything and kill players when ever they feel like it and someone doesn't know what the supernatchural flag means. The teleporters though aren't that big of an ishew. I love the idea about getting coins for doing things like catching fish or killing rabits. I would love to be able t
 o use those coins to buy stuff, but also to upgrade my char ever so slightly in certain ways. Such as having max energy gradually encreesed, being able to fall longer without taking as much damage etc. Of course, all of that would be capped. So far the only coins going around are those from player corpses, and there are people who are running around with so many coins that if players tried to set up an ingame economy it would probably crash with coins losing worth so quick you'll have no idea what happened. I can see things like bullets going up in price to measure in the hundreds of coins because people with loads of coins buy them all up and then they just get more and more expensive. I do love the idea of vending machines though. They could dispense water bottles, protein bars and chips randomly as you incerted coins, but pop cans would be really rare like a 5% chance or something.

Although I'm English and it seems to be the done thing in this country, I too can't stand butter on my sandwitches, as I don't like the taste or the texture. The only time I'll use it is on tosties  but in sandwitches or on pieces of tost I'll use some other spread, or none at all depending on the filling.I agree with Cinnamon about mentioning topics that you want tips about Aaron. If you let us know, I'm sure many of us will have some useful tips.

Thanks for the help with that one I figured it out, but now I'm stuck on the boss, it's hard to fight with karla cause I keep attacking her, and if I'm not mistaken the boss is the same one from a previous level that dispenses enemies. I am however unable to attack it when it is dispensing them unlike the last one I faught I need a height weapon I think, I bought this lance that is supposed to be able to hit enemies up high but it doesn't seem to work, any tips?

The official Killer Instinct Forums over at ultra-combo.com are read by the devs and listened to, which is how the audio cues got added in the first place.  You can also interact with other members of the community, but make sure to mention my name thereas "@sightlesskombat" - the mention system works the same as twitter and you get an email notification when someone mentions you in a post or replies etc.  If you mention me then I will then be able to back you up/join in the discussion, as well as the fact that I'd say I'm relatively well-known there and I can vouch for you.With the kinect, you have to turn on Kinect mic for chat, you'll probably have to calibrate it first though, which is just an audio check if I remember correctly.  Turn your speakers up loud, prepare for an earfull of noise and then wait until that's done and go from there.  Anyone else feel free to correct me if I@m wrong.

Has anyone got Locale Emulator working? I've tried it with text games, and I've modified japanese profile with Fake system UI language and fake registry options checked, but it still displays garbage text after running the EXE with locale emulator.

Ditto, XP for me too (at least in a VM running on my Mac).Yes. Just write the XP ISO (which I hope is an official full ISO, either retail or OEM, for which you have a key) to the disc. You could probably have spared some of the cost with CD-Rs rather than DVD-RWs, but oh well, it should still work just the same I think.

Even though i've moved on from pure basic to python, pure tts 4 I remember I got from the march massiker attack from space source that you can find on dragonapps.org. If you intend on implementing screen reader support tolk is a good library to use, can't remember the address but it supports several languages, including pure basic.

In Snow Leopard you have the choice to use Disk Utility and, I think, Finder too. You want to write directly to the disc, and not to create a burn folder and have the file itself appear on the disc.

If you're willing to put up with the language barrier, the Japanese games like Bokurano Daibouken and Shadow Line are pretty nice.VGStorm.com is in the process of squeezing all that they can from the 1.5d side-scrolling action game style (Adventure at C:, Psycho Strike, The Gate), but they also have Palidin of the Sky, a somewhat Final Fantasy-style RPG with turn-based combat and loads of exploration.Seconding Swamp. It's hard to get the most out of the offline Custom Maps mode, since you can't level or change armor, and those are kinda important, but there are a few campaigns out there that might be worth trying? @Turtle, my lady is similarly aversed to butter and other such textures, though I will say in some sandwiches they can be rather nice, eg, very thin ham or smoked salmon. As to liquid levels, well I started off with a liquid level indicator,but when I started drinking propper coffee stopped bothering sinse it wouldn't fit over the cafeteir.I then just got used to using the finger tip with hot  liquids the way I do with cold ones, though I do now have an indicator again which i tend to use for tea, it's one of these things I'll use if it's there but I'm not bothered if not. @Cinnamon, I have similar markings on the cooker and   washing machine too, though my cooker actually has braille labels. No need for puff paint though if you just want tactile   marks. I don't know if you have  come across bumpons but I can highly recommend them, basically they're rather tiny plastic markers with an adheasive surfice 
 on one side, useful for marking most everything I even took some to the states with me and marked my lady's sister's otherwise inaccessible microwave.

I know that App Locale works, but I'm on Windows 10 so I have to use Locale Emulator which works different from App Locale. I'll have to configure japanese keyboard though.

Yeah. @Hrvoje, yep, Locale Emulator works great, but it only fixes the menus.To fix the text copied to the clipboard you have to enable the Japanese keyboard by pressing alt + shift after the game starts.That assumes you have already installed the Japanese keyboard.Here is an mp3 of me starting GroundWar1 with Locale Emulator and then enabling the Japanese keyboard with alt + shift.It will show you what the game should sound like when things are working properly.

Ahh, so the download is only for Windows 7 drivers? According to an Apple article, I can only install 32 bit versions of XP and Vista. At least I know why the download failed. I could install Vista, but I hear that Vista doesn't like 1 gb of ram so that won't work. Besides, I don't really like versions of Windows past XP anyway.So, when I get these disks, how do I burn it to the disk and make it bootable? Do I ust choose burn from the finder when focused on the iso image. I've installed the image in Fusion and can confirm it's Windows XP service pack 3.I currently use a mid 2013 13 inch Macbook Air. It's the default option with 4 gb of ram, a 128 gb hard drive, and the 1.3 ghz processor. It works for what I do with computers. It's actually kind of nice because if I use internet recovery, this thing can go all the way back to 10.8.5.

If he was added into Street fighter cross teckon  alongside someone like one of the evil villains, he would probably be unstoppable.  I've never played teckin  tag,  so Street fighter cross Tekken is the first tag game that I've ever played. The combo system is relatively easy.

One thing I would suggest is swamp, a zombie fps made by aprone. It is payed and the free version doesn't provide you with even half of what you can do in that game. In the free version you can test the offline map practecing. Placement of your buildings is quite important for your settlement. e.G, placing a tavern far away from your storehouse will make it take longer to deliver food to it. Placing a quarry near rocky areas enables your stonecutters to go back and fourth quicker. Forests and rocks will get exhausted though, so aventually your lumberjacks and stone masons will need to travel further and further out to collect lumber and bricks. Hello,All right then. I guess now all I have to do is wait for the DVDs to ship. I hope this image burns correctly and boots. I found it on a website that said it was the full iso from Microsoft with service pack 3 and the latest updates from some time in 2013. I had to find a product key which works fine in Vmware. Considering that you can't legally purchase XP anymore and I never did, I guess this is the only way to go. I'm actually glad I bought the rw disks so that if I mess up, I can try writing new data again. This comes with 15 disks, so if allelse fails, I have 15 or so disks to experiment with.

Hello,Yep I found PureTTS4 on purearea.net. But it seams to be incompatible with PB5. It requires StringExtension library which has been changed to just String in later versions, and I can't modify it since it's closed source.

OK then, thanks anyway. I guess I'm locked to shado rine full voice and the bokurano debouken trilogy on my primary computer. my secondary pc runs windows 8.1 so it should run the text games with no problem. for authenticity I might use fm soundfonts to make some of them sound like they are from classic japanese computers, like the pc88.

Yep, that worked, although some parts still seam to be untranslatable in Alternative Magic. In Brave of cloudia I was able to switch output to NVDA, so now it works even without japanese keyboard.

The combo system for the most part is the same as SF 4's.. the only difference being what FGC people call the magic series... which is the only easy chain for all characters. Tekken characters have some additional strings they can use, however. And Seth is a great character, one of my favorites to play as... but if he joined SF x Tekken, that wouldn't make him unstoppable... some characters can be really good in one game and crap in another. Depends on how the balance works out. lol

I'll look into the kinnect calibration, or maybe invest in a eadset... just don't want to get one for xbox1 specifically if I'm not going to be keeping the console. lol And as an aside, Jago's theme is now one of my favorite tracks in the game. Kind of want to sit down and mess around with the dynamic music system and see how many different track samples I can coax from the game. lol

There have been a few industry articles on the subject, like this one. Large team sizes, while able to accomplish some large scale projects, tend to be inherently inefficient for a number of reasons. This usually results in low developer investment, poor communication, etc. Smaller, more agile teams of 6 or so with people sharing roles tend to be more flexible and productive.As for team building, some companies have taken to running their own internal Game Jam's, and there are certainly plenty that sprint up regularly on other developer sites like itch.io, tigsource, etc. They tend to be a fun way to explore idea's and collaborate freely with others.

People can draw inspiration from many different sources, though at times we can be our own worst critics. One idea could be to post about the things your working on and share them with others. They can help offer encouragement and ideas to help improve and expand on your projects, though you don't always have to listen to them, heh. Something else to consider may be to spend more time on designing and discussing the idea and gameplay before you start coding, after working through the mechanics you could try coding a prototype and see where it goes from there. Alternatively, you could try participating in Game Jams and contests, like the Ludum Dare 48 hour competition, among others. They give you a theme and a limited time frame to work with, the goal being that it doesn't matter if its good or not, so long as you get something done and have fun.

Hello,Yep I found PureTTS4 on purearea.net. But it seams to be incompatible with PB5. It requires StringExtension library which has been changed to just String in later versions, and I can't modify it since it's closed source.Edit: Also, the source code is no longer available on dragonapps.org, I've checked out both there and here on the forum.

Hmm. I had the same issue with my copy when I downloaded it from there. But the one I have doesn't ask me for String Extension, and I do not have that library installed. I have another copy of Pure TTS 4 on my personal computer, (it's the same that I use without need for String Extension), and I will upload it for you when I have access to it, if you would like me to. I think that last time I downloaded a library from there that needed string extension, the download wasn't complete and that was why.

Hi,  such a game shouldn't be awefully hard to create. I suggest you start with learning languages such as HTML and CSS (to make your webpages), and then PHP. Php is what will manage all of your objects and variables and such. I'm actually in the process of learning PHP myself for a similar purpose.  I am relatively new to this sort of thing, but still I'd be glad to help in what ways I can, because again I'm quite interested in making these games.

As for getting Tolk to use Sapi, I do not know as I haven't done such a thing. Instead, I prefer to use PureTTS and SAPI simultaneously.

Not sure if others were aware already or not, but I did some digging for other accessible paint programs and came up with two results. The vector art tool SVGDraw01 with description here, and BlindPaint for touch screens. SVGDraw seems to have a number of features like transparency and various tools, along with printer functions and possibly the vOICe support, BlindPaint seems abit more primitive though has a touch interface going for it.

A team of 6 would be huge by audio game standards, IIUC. I think I've run into a couple 3-person teams, and two-person teams aren't so rare as I'm wanting to think they are. There are some cases where it's hard to tell, between what counts as part of the team and how much of the information is kept under wraps (Do voice actors count? Does it matter how they're recruited (compare Swamp to VGStorm)?)
