Hi.A slow computer is not the reason for the speed hack issue. I can tell you because I have played the game on a virtual machine which is slow compared to a normal pc without any trouble.Are you using a wireless internet connection or using cable? If you're using wireless connection, it might be your router which is messing up for whatever reason. I'll recommend you to try using a cable to see if that fixes the issue. I don't mean using a cable permanent but just to see if that helps.

actually you can play second life using a client called radegast if I remember right. I haven't played in a while so I have no idea what has improved or not but the game was playable after a bit of getting used to all the commands and ways to interact with the world.

Coding speedhack detection is pretty difficult and shouldn't be done client side. I'm not sure how STW does this, but I did see some speedhack detection code that Sam put up a while ago.Maybe speedhacking should merely notify the administrators or moderators so they can sanity check server side what is going on. Simply booting someone out of the game seems like an unfair solution to people who, like Caccio or Socheat, are just trying to play the game normally. Especially since people who are desperate will be able to get around the speedhack detection either way.Just some thoughts

This is not. The whole guide, it's just some of the larger changes I made to show why I'm not uploading it. And anyone who's reading, remember none of this exists. Starting at the master stadium final battle:Manamon Master MathDormanoid level 60 with Headstone Amulet, Garganchan level 62 with Elemental Crown, Elvond level 60 with Power Bracelet, Jimitron level 60 with Broomstick, Domestress level 75 with Spirit Staff V 2, Arctana level 60 with Ice Dagger.First is Dormanoid. This thing has a ton of attack and hp, but it's defenses as well as it's other stats are average. The only undead moves this guy has are Black Bite, Bone Kick, and Grave Gun. It also has Deadman's curse, which will remove half it's max hp if it uses this. Anything that's not weak to undead will work here. Remember it can't be hit with holy attacks because of it's equipment, and anything weak to undead will probably be one shot by black bite bec
 ause of his attack. Next is Garganchan. Oh boy, is he annoying. Math decided to give it the elemental crown to eliminate all it's weaknesses, so you can't one shot this thing. I really, want, to one shot him. But you can't. It's impossible. Nothing weak to fighting. Actually, not even something neutral to fighting can survive him. He's got Power Kick, Blind Rush, Earthquake, and Blaze Rampage, as well as Call to Arms to improve his huge attack and high defenses. Either Skirial or Recobrah works best here. They're very resistant to fighting, and they both can use things he's weak to. Just make sure you're healed, remember you're only 1 third threw him. Next is Elvond. His magic attack is huge, and he's got a lot of hp and speed. He's got both tri-beam and Magic Wave which hurt, but at least he doesn't have Meteor Rush. Thank God! Undead, Shadow, and Dragon work well here. Undead is immune to all of elvonds attack
 s accept headbutt, which really doesn't hurt that bad. Next is Jimitron. Remember how I said these guys will die in virtually 2 hits of anything? Well this one won't. He's got Superspark, Zap Slam, Thunderstorm, Stun Volt and, Crunch? I want a Jimitron with Crunch! One thing he does that's really annoying, is crunch until it knows you're Manamon is almost dead, then Zap Slams you until you die which is usually in one hit by the time either your defense is gone or he's pulled your HP down by use of Crunch.Next is Domestress. And he leveled this thing to, 75! I think that's a bit overpowered, right? Well not for him. Before sending this thing out, he says something. "I know you can do this, Domestress! And then Autoson will come and save us. And if you really can't beat him, Autoson will. Either way, we'll all become the Manamon Master! Go, Domestress!" Yeh, this thing hits very hard. She's got lots of hp and defe
 nses to back it up, plus really good attack and good moves to use it with. She has Slam and Takedown, plus, Power Kick? I want a Domestress with Power Kick! And this one Manamon alone can very easily sweep out your team, I'm not kidding! Use a fighting type, that's the only way. Oh, and she's also got sing, restoration, Inner Healing, and Power Pacify! And she really uses her moves at the right time. You use battlecry, she uses Sing then Restoration. You power up with a potion, she uses Power Pacify. You bring in a standard type, she takes advantage of this and uses Power Kick. Oh and also, Ghosts aren't safe from her because of her Spirit Staff V 2. Paralyze her with an electric type or something, then start hammering. Don't power up or lower anything, she'll either get it back or take the stat increase away from you. And if you manage to defeat her?Next is Arctana. Oh finally, the last one. It's magic attack and speed are high, but it'
 s hp is average. If Domestress didn't remove your fighting type's attack, just smack Arctana with Power Kick or something and it's dead. Oh, one more thing. Math can use Revives! Well, I mean Full Revives. He has 2 Full Revives, and he'll use them after you defeat Domestress if you don't defeat Arctana as soon as it gets sent out. If you don't, Math will fully revive Domestress and you'll have to do it again. The good thing? He'll only do that twice, and only with Domestress. Man, he must really care about her. All leveled up really high a lot farther than his others, and he revives her? Oh yah after he revives her, you'll get this. "The fight isn't over Domestress, you'll get there! Just keep beating on'em!" And when you defeat all 6 of his Manamon,Autoson level 80. A level 80 Autoson? Doesn't he transform at level 36? We'll see his transformation next! He's really, really, defensive. A lot o
 f hp, about 2 times of Domestress's HP, but a little less attack. Not by much though. Now look at his moveset. He gets all kinds of stuff we don't get! And he's Electric, Steel, Standard, Sound, and Earth type? 5 types! Why did VG Storm allow this beast on Math's team? He's got Earthquake, Mudslide, Takedown, Frenzied Rage,

Not sure as to why this could happen, but maybe PDH is broken on Vista. I think it could very well be the operating system's fault, but I'll set up a vm and test.I'm making progress! I think I figured out how to fix the soundpack loading problems! I was just able to reload my soundpack about 10 times without any errors.We're getting there. Slowly but surely. Haha

, sam fixed the speedhack issues a long time ago. if you get speedhacks that's because you have a very slow pc with a week prosessor, and reinstalling windows isn't that hard, ya know? you could try to format your harddrive that could help but if that doesn't work the problem is from your pc's components and not that much from the game

OK. Two more possibilities.If you have filters, you can add a subtle lowpass filter to filter out the highs if a sound is behind you.This is probably as far from a good solution as you can get, but if you have the option of inverting a sound, inverting one channel will put the sound out of phase and make it seem like the sound is behind you. If you don't have the option, you can still do this manually and add it as a separate sound.

Caccio, this is a problem with the server and the game itself, not your computer's fault. It kept happening with me when I was playing the game, before. But now I stop playing for long time. It is a bug of the game. Don't try to reformat your hard drive, it wouldn't helps either.

I will probably end up using it in a future project, though since this is also a school project for me I am going to make my best attempt at finishing this engine. Mainly for the learning value but also since... if it 'pans' out (hehe puns) then having multiple options is always good. Though since the people working on libaudioverse have a better idea of what they're doing, this probably won't be quite to par.Another reason for me to use the one I've worked on, though, is that I understand what's going on with the code base since I wrote it and understand it, and since whether libaudioverse works or doesn't work is largely out of my hands (and I have a deadline in June), right now it's better for me to use something I can fix myself. But I can be hopeful, maybe this sound engine will be useful outside of the scope of this project... lol

Using Windows Vista 32-bit, and after selecting a pack the program crashes. Windows puts me in that dialog that says the program stopped working and Windows is looking for a solution to the problem. This is running the 32-bit version that was just compiled recently. Vista is on its way out this year, but thought you'd want to know anyway for debugging purposes.

Haha. I should do that.The BMP is the icon the program associates with the system tray.If you get the errors, it means your PDH is broken. I'm at this moment unsure how to fix this problem, but I'm tracing it.Some updates as to what's been happening.The program now saves and loads your settings. However, there is still a problem with loading soundpacks, where values will stop updating after you select a new pack, that's the main reason I didn't update the files yet. I need to figure that out.I'm thinking of having the announcement messages self voicing for percentage of cores, disk and RAM. This might make it more universal. I'll also add SAPI and screen reader support.I'm having trouble registering global hotkeys, but I think I can get around this as well.I'm also adding a per core sound option, so you can have individual files for each core. This might be a bit messy, and I'm not sure 
 what to do if you have more cores than sounds. I think what I'll go for now is to simply wrap around.Oh and of course an update notification.Once all of this is working I'll release the update. I am generally not fond of crafting-based games, but Surviving The Wild has a large world to explore, a significant amount of active players online, a very creative gameplay, with lots of alternatives to choose from, including even PvP, and it's free to play anyway...so I keep trying to play it in the last few days...Yes, I said I "keep trying"...but the title of this forum topic of mine explains all:Namely, I quite often get "thrown out" from the game to the desktop, after a loud-shouting "speed-hack!" alert!I was adviced by some regular players there to "format my hard-drive"...which I consider for absolutely ridiculous idea...asking from a blind man to format his drive, and then reinstall the whole operative-system, with all the required and useful utility programs, games, all the user-settings, etc etc all over again, right from the scratches, merely due some hyper-sensitive security-settings of one certain game..
 .that was a full-day work for me even while I was sighted...so normally I wish to avoid this "alternative" by all possible means!I sincerely hope, that some of You people here can come out with an another advice, or suggestion for the solution of this problem...As for myself, all I tried so far was turning off both my firewall and antivirus program, but it had no effect at all, the "speed-hack" exits to desktop kept happening with the same average intensity.Cacciofrom Hungary

I personally have no problem with eSpeak, though if you have it you might consider using eloquence for NVDA, since almost everyone seems to like that synthesizer.To Aaron Baker, I doubt you'll read this, but would love to see this game updated with a full complement of sounds. While I normally don't have a problem playing games with little to no sounds or sounds that bring an atmosphere of classic era gaming, this game has enough flaws in my opinion that good sounds might make it more playable. Would also like to see this updated with the code used in manamon to save the position of a musical track when you go into battle or into the menu and restart the song at that point.Don't worry, anyone else who reads this. I understand completely that I'm probably taking a shot in the dark at this poi

I'd like to write a Collaborative Story

I'd like to write a short story or even more where we all go around writing a paragraph or two, to a chapter at a time, and then hand it off, I was experimenting around with google docs, but the damn thing annoys the crap out of me echoing back typed chars irrespective of my screen reader's settings. I have the idea how this can start out, so if anyone wants to do this, let me know and we'll come up with a solution.

The fuck fast start got to do with the game not running. OK sure, it doesn't initialize drivers on boot up, it keeps the same drivers in use, and I can see, and have seen where it has caused issues, I in fact, do not use it, but still, the original question begs an answer.

okay, we need to switch gears guys. How about this. I am thinking about getting a team of developers together to come up with some ideas for a knew game. I have lots and lots of ideas but lack the patience to learn programming. I have no idea the interest but I thought I would throw the idea out their. So if you are a developer Send me a PM and we will talk. Get some of your work together just in case I ask to see a project, or projects you have worked on in the past. I will ask for no more then 2 games and or other bits of softwhere...what you show me is up to you. In order to protect the safety of my computer, they have to be items already on the audio games website. The end goal for this project would be for sighted and blind players to play with and or against each other. Lets focus our energy on something more productive. I've already played games such as survive the wild, swamp, redspot...lots of games that have been created by you guys. I see what you guys are capable 
 of and if I can get all of you guys to work together, well who knows what could be accomplished. You guys have some brilliant minds.I hope to speak with some of you soon.

That's partly why I pasted the game description from the app store, but I also wanted to give people a good expectation of what it's about since it's not free. I think it's intended to be a light game with interesting discoveries happening now and then, and it works well from that perspective.Dark, I agree about the labels. It got me curious about their second game Sunless Seas, but I see it's written in Unity and only available through Steam, although they're releasing an IOS app later this month. Continuing my digression, I found a blog last night from a developer making a Unity plugin for making Unity's GUI accessible to screen readers. It's not finished yet, but they seem committed to the project at least. Anyway, it makes me cautiously optimistic.

The solution to sleeping pattern issues is a two part solution.I - to sleep early if you can.II - to go outside and sit with friends at a time that you can, and preferably when the erge to sleep comes, because that should distract you from getting tired.Then return to home and sleep if you need to or if you see being awake can mess up your pattern.

to avoid confusion. My username is Blindgamer995. I see that there is another member with a similar name, but I have a number 995. My signature will be Alen ..so, @djkw25, now your sounds are much better, but i have advice for editing. Record 4 seconds unchanged sound like my tu154 sound. For example, learjet sound is ok, but every 4 second game repeat sound from begining and the sound is not aligned. It is not so important, but can be heard. I don't know how to explain this because my english speaking skils are not good. It is best heard when the aircraft is at full throttle. It can be heard when open the wav file in the playerI will make some test flights, and maybe edit   your sound mods with  to see if there is something else to change if you agree.I'll try to arrange landing sound and switches and buttons, and perhaps the sound of rain and storm This is only idea in this point.by the way, I sent  author of the game 
 e-mail with  list of airports that should be added, but did not get an answer, does anyone know what is going on. It is not very important, but I would like to know. it seems to me that I incorrectly categorized airportsAny suggestions? feel free and write. Regards, Alen

Blink wizard, are you suggesting I've done anything but stress in here that using Mason's stolen code would be wrong?  The entire reason I hopped in here was to help determine whether the game was using the stolen code or not.  You don't seem to see it, but the moment you have people "on your side" you have a tendency to get upset and then turn on them.  This last message of yours, and the one before it, are good examples of you flat out turning against someone who was trying to help you.  I have thanked you for past evidence, pointed out how important it could be as proof (if verified), and encouraged others to go out and verify it!  The servers shut down and suddenly those tests no longer work... I'm not an idiot, I understand that you were probably right and they probably shut things down to patch those few huge issues that would prove they had used the stolen code and were lying about it.  The problem is, some of us a
 round here have to act like adults.  To officially declare that this game is using stolen code, and deal with it in that light, there has to be actual verifiable proof.  Not one guy's word, but an honest substantiated claim.Clearly you are smart enough to see what is and is not proof, which is why you tracked down some useful evidence.  Like many people, the failure is an inability to view situations from everyone elses' perspective.  If the roles were reversed and all you had were a claim you couldn't check, I sincerely hope you wouldn't run with it as proof and start handing out punishments.  If you would, then you'd be a poor excuse for a moderator (or authority of Any kind).  It doesn't take more than 2 seconds of thought to understand that, so I cannot figure out why you're struggling to accept things are playing out the way they are.  This is Not a problem of moderators choosing to ignore your evidenc

So Aprone, sorry if I'm wrong but I guess I could, if I had Swamp's source code, just use it to make the foundation of your game and you wouldn't have a problem with it? I could say "O it was written from scratch", come to find out, you use the swamp client, and it events you create new chars with the swamp client because its so reliable off source code from swamp that it uses the same packets and the same paramaters? Because that 's what I did, I never did say this, but you know who I spawn so many players on to the server? I used a modifed version of btb that would send "spawn_player "+name+" "+v+" "+v2);, and there you go. I wasn't even attacking a server, if you put it in the way everyone's putting it.  The problem is, this game has really bad secruity. I'm sure I could even get the password to your hcar and encrypt it. How about that for security? You passwords could be risk! People, you have no i
 dea how insecure that game is. Your email, as far as I know, is just stored in a file called "email.usr". I hope you really think about this, and I only did it to a: show you how much its using from our source code, and b: to stop this guy from using our work and calling it their own. And if you're gonna say you don't care about what source code it uses, of course you don't. You only care about your game and your game only. Who cares where it comes from, and how much work others put into the game, because you like it. I guess if you were working really hard on a homework assighment, and I stole it and turned it in to the teacher, and said I did it, you would have no problem with it. Ok, I see how it works.

I'm actually loving this, indeed as I am somewhat familiar with Ian M Banks' writing I'm seeming a lot of similarities, especially the ancient alien races and interesting cultures and worlds like methane seas etc. I've not found a crew thus far though, though I assume if I meet anyone who wants to come along I'll get the option t location . I'll be interested to see where this goes. the only thing I'm not entirely sure of, is some of the descriptions in  market tab. Eg, if I'm told that something is exceptional quality and has a %20 higher base price, does that mean I'm getting wripped off? then again I tend to buy things that are either marked as inexpensive or as having a distance bonus, though again I don't know if I buy cheap goods whether they sell cheep or not. The only thing access
  wise I'd like to see are some better labels for things. The tabs with their images are okay, but the buttons on the start screen are a bit irritating, indeed the first game I tried I ended hitting a button which took me back to the start screen by mistake (I think it's somewhae at the bottom right and is just labelled button). I also don't know if all those images on the start screen are options to save and load and such. ? ither way, very nice game and I'll be interested to see  it goes and what happens to my ship

Hektor, my tip would be to write your bot so that it loops and checks to see if scanner.txt exists.  If it does not, just wait a moment and loop through to check again.  This will let you delete the file between attempts, start up your bot, and then start up the car game in that order.  There would be no risk of your bot trying to type, with the car game out of focus.  Just my thoughts based on what seems to work well for me.When the car crashes, it actually crashes and stops the progress of the car before the scanner file is updated, so there should be no point where the car's coordinates show up as a wall.If the car reaches position 1000, the program pops up a victory message, stops the car, and takes you to the same submit score point you normally see when crashing.At turn 0 the scan file should include all information about the field from position 0 through 10, not 9.  Then at turn 10 it contains information from positions 10 
 to 20.  It is always the current turn, to the current turn plus 10.  It will always be a 7 x 11 grid.I look forward to seeing you pop up on the high score list!

@emrickby. Luis and others. Guys, spamming the forum with your horrible english isn't gonna help with this.My conclusion: 1. It is clear for most of us now, that all this  apologizing messages of Ivan, where he states that he has changed his atitude  are just words, he hasn't changed a single bit. A person who has really changed his atitude never does something like attacking a server and stopping us to play, just because "he do not wants anybody to use our work". Oh its interesting how he uses the word our, understanding that he was the first one on stealing UP's code. So his work is not iriginally his.I've not believed him never, and now with his violent and hostile atitude all he's doing is re afirm my distrust and losing credibility himself

Aprone,Thanks for this fun challenge.My first step is going to be to try to write some Python code that will start the program, press keys, and read the scanner file.  While I am not new to programmer, I am new to Python so this makes for a good learning exercise. If I can get it to work in a way that would let others just write the AI code, I think I might put it up on GitHub.To that end, I have a couple questions.* Is it right to assume that when the car crashes, the scan file will have a 1 at the position in the scan field where the car is?* Does the player win if their car reaches or passes position 1000 or if they reach turn 1000 without crashing?I also want to check to see if an assumption I am making is correct.At turn 0, the scan file includes all the information about the field from position 0 through 9.At turn 10, it contains all the position information for the field from positions 10 to 19.So each turn,
  the scanner includes position information for a 7 x 10 grid that starts with the position that is the same as the turn number.Is that correct?Please, do not feel like you have to answer any of these questions if you think that will ruin the fun for others.

@blind-gamer there are some things you can do to check you have no pasengers to comply with the task. You may have boarded them by mistake with control W which boards and unboards pasengers. To check, do control enter to check the aircrafts properties and check the passenger count, if it says 0 you should be good to go. If this still doesn't work, then making sure the door is open press control W which will board pasengers and announce the number aboard, keep pressing until you hear 0.To anyone who has tried my sounds, the most recent ones uploaded today, then are there any that you think need major improovments or changes.

Last I checked Brad, Blindmice only had the original trek series described. the only tng they hadwere a couple of the films, they had none of the series, and no ds9 at all.It's a shame I'd love to show my wife some tng as there are parts I thinks she'd love, thus far I've not found the series described, which seems odd since I'd have expected it to be given how much of a classic it is.

It should be on your desktop.  If it's not, it should be in your context menu when you right click on steam's icon in your system tray.  Just be sure that as with fsx that you use asn with your flat review commands.

Harrison91 brings up an extremely good point.  I've actually seen two people on my twitter timeline bring up the forum now in the past few days, not exactly mentioning this topic, but it's very obvious that they're looking at it.  But I'm sure most won't care, as they'd rather be children.  But they're right, most mainstream devs wouldn't even think of developing for this community if all they see is this kind of thing going on constantly.  Also, Aprone, after reading Ivan's posts, I was wondering when you'd step in with the mod hat on. Hahahha.
