You're actually taking the right aproach, just use some already existing MUD driver and use some already existing codebase so that you already have the functionality to make players connectable and then extend the codebase any further until you get what you want. But note that MUDs can take quite much more time than usual games, since you always have to setup the environment, means the rooms and all that kind of stuff until the game is actually playable, and the descriptions, if they should actually be nice to read, will take their time to be written.Best Regards.Hijacker

Hi everyone. I'll post more detail tomorrow, but a few quick things. Icons are used to determine who to pass to, you do not need to press any directional button. The icons indicate what button to press to toss to a particular player, with up to 5 buttons available. Button icons per catcher only show up after the catcher is open for the first time. There's no guarantee they will stay unblocked by defense.The biggest plus for blind gaming on Madden is that the camera seldom moves, so the goal is always to move forward to the end zone. The game also auto-steers characters unless a gamer intervenes and has an AI for all characters not directly controlled. Commentary gives a bit of an idea of what's going on during game play, but it isn't perfect.There will be a different post requesting FIFA feedback soon. Someone on FIFA is currently helping me gather information, similar to the earlier information posted on Madden. Madden was simply easier fo
 r me to use as the starting point, as I've been working on the game for the last 4 years, and have worked with blind gamers who have played Madden, so know it is already minimally (painfully) playable. Thank you for all your feedback. Understanding the problem is the first step to working out how to solve it. I'm sure it's possible to make more games blind accessible, but I need to plan possible solutions to convince others.

Greetings SilverMoon.I don't know why it's doing that, it should not. You'll have to edit your save file if you want to continue with it. Once you open it up in notepad, search for Hospital with a capital h; all buildings are capitalized. The second value under the hospital is the one you want. The highest value you can set any resource is 1E+36 which means infinite as far as castaways is concerned. However, I recommend you start a new game if you don't like editing your save file. Having said that, you can still build all previously mentioned buildings if you edit their names. Let's say you wanted to build a wall on A8. Build a house and save right away unless you want to build the wall faster. For the fast method, wait until the house has all building materials then save before completion. Open the save file in notepad and search for House, with the comma. Replace House, with Wall, and save and exit notepad. Load the game and you'll have a wa
 ll on A8 instead of a house. Do this with any building you want. As for tomes, you have to change one of the bottom values in notepad. Open the save file and search for your name. Look for the second instance and go up 3 values. The third 0 from your name is the tomes. Edit it to 1e+36 and you're good to go.A fun cheat, especially if you do it with the newly born. If you change the first value under each name to 18, you can instantly make them pregnant! It makes life much easier and you can do it with men, women and children. Another thing I just thought of, I know they make gaming headsets now with the microphones and all that for the PS4/XBOX1. Maybe when you're having the quarterback pass the ball you can make the players you can pass to make an audible sound, or  have them call for the ball, or something, and you'd be able to hear it from a certain direction with the headset?Just a thought.

I can play a lot of games, but I've always wanted a football game to play. I for one am pretty stoked that accessibility is being considered for the most popular EA Sports titles.While I'm also interested in Fifa getting some accessibility love, we've come a long way since I played Madden, and really tried to figure it out, back in the Madden 07 days.I think the rising tone is a great idea for the kick meter. There are also other meters as well, such as when making passes. For this, a directional stereo tone could indicate the proper direction to throw the ball--so hold the stick in that direction, and a mono tone in the center field that rises in pitch could be the throw meter, and when at a very high pitch the player will go all out and throw the ball as hard and far as possible, which will obviously use a lot of stamina. That's the easy part, at least from a concept perspective.The hard part is actually knowing not just the direction my intended pass is to go to, but where the player is on the field related to me. I
  don't think a bunch of beeps/tones representing surrounding players would be helpful, and might be more of a distraction with about 20 beeps all around me at once. Unfortunately, that's the easiest method I can come up with. How else can indevidual players be represented by sound?Unlike NFL2K5--sorry for mentioning that series haha, in Madden there are no player sounds itself. It's from the point of view of a TV broadcast, as far as the audio is concerned. That means you won't even hear players around you running or whatever.Text to Speech would be helpful as well when we're the ball carrier and have to perform those special moves. Even if, with the default settings, the AI performs the moves while I make my player run, TTS would help us learn what we're supposed to do, I'd think.It's worth mentioning that currently, I'm not a huge fan of online play.   an accessible and playable Career, story, etc mode.If you want to make the first ever business case for a blind friendly, Tripple A sports game title, the first order of business is menu accessibility. Without that, we can't make selections without help. Even if I can only manage a team via a menu-based system instead of play one, this would be a huge step and I'd buy, support and stream the game.Don't get me wrong though, if gameplay accessibility is implemented I'll be playing most franchise games and even attempt online play. Fighting games are great, but it's time for a huge, groundbreaking change in the video games industry.

Besides some of the info is off as far as transformations, though usualy not by more than a level or two either way at least so far as I'm able to determine. Besides not all the transformations are listed. I didn't know, for instance, that Autoson transforms at level 36 into Titomaton until I encountered one in a Tamer battle and my Manapedia listed it as a transformation of Autoson. Does Erroir transform?

I can often tell key frequencies of a sound, to a point anyway, by hearing it. It's one of those weird things I taught myself to do as a teenager. Lol. I've not had a real desire to find an audio spectral analyzer but it would be wicked to play with one.What I've been after is an audio waveform display. A waveform display is somewhat simple and just displays the motion of the waveform and its amplitude. It's useful to get an idea of the wave shape of a sound, where its peaks and troughs are, or where it meets 0 crossings (the point at which it goes from a negative to a positive state). And that information is useful for editing so that things don't click. It's also useful for trimming silence at the ends of files, or finding disturbances such as clicks on a vinal record or even digital clicks, which in some cases can be manually redrawn to eliminate the click, among other uses. A spectrogram displays frequencies, and gives a lot more information
  on more identifiable parts of a sound, like the harmonics that make it up. People use spectrograms for finding frequencies of offending sounds, or to study, say, the relationships between frequency components of a sound. From my understanding, a waveform display is much simpler to implement and is much more accurate in the time domain, in other words you can edit a lot tighter, but it by nature gives you limited information about frequencies and other more relatable components which a spectrogram is better at displaying.IN Gold Wave, you can export the waveform to a text file and read through it, sample by sample. Hi Keithwipf1.Assisination, critical hit, you use automatically when your an assassin. When you use your skill points to level them up they do more damage but you can't use them whenever you want too.Throw enemy, I think you can use when your a monk I think. This happens when you use takedown I'm pretty sure, I'm also pretty sure that this happens automatically too.There is only one cheat press the key to the left of the number 1 then type bottomsup. Just do it without the period at the end. Make sure to type it exactly like that, no capitals otherwise it won't work. I think there were meant to be more cheats but they were never put in. Back when entombed came out you could only get that cheat code by donating but now I'm not even sure you can do that. Even if you can donate pretty much everyone knows the code and what it does.I think treasure chests are all you can find. Maybe you can get unlockables in the secret areas but I'
 ve never seen them. A lot of stuff was just never put in.Really for being so big there really isn't a lot to do in entombed. I remember hearing a lot of plans back when it came out and nothing was done. It was pretty much abandoned so the developer could make entombed Ii and then that never came out.Anyway Hth!

Hi there!Karen, it's a pleasure to see you on this forum. i had the honour of meeting you at the Game Accessibility conference, and I was so happy to see how interested you were in this topic. Now for what few suggestions I have.First, real quick, to get this out of the way, a place you want to make sure text to speech is present: the play selection menu. Furthermore, I was thinking there should be an additional place, maybe in the main menu though I'm not sure exactly where, where people like me, who have never been Football fans before, can go to learn what each play actually was, through description and perhaps, after some other features were implemented to identify different field positions, an audio demonstration of a play. I understand this would be a massive undertaking, but I keep thinking that, if you're going to choose a play, you should know what that play involves.Second, do you happen to know what determines which button must be pre
 ssed to throw to which receiver? Is it their relative position to you? Their position on the field? I ask because I think all you would need, if I'm right about this, would be a tone that plays, (a different-sounding tone depending on which button would need to be pressed), letting you know when that receiver is open. I don't want to turn a feature like that into a cheat of any kind, though, so how about this. That tone is also affected by the stats of the player you're controlling. So for example, if you have poor, uh, we'll say playmaking ability, (I know nothing about Madden remember), then maybe you're more likely to hear that sound at the incorrect time. Perhaps too early, or too late. Blind gamers who become more experienced might figure out ways to use the game's natural audio, making it possible that they will know better and either ignore the tone when controlling a player with a low stat, or throw earlier than the tone plays and succeed. I won
 't count that out as a possibility because, again, never played Madden. Haha.Just thinking out loud, as it were, but I imagine Madden's version of Franchise mode would be a blast just with the implementation of text to speech. After all, focus there is on management, and I think you can choose to play the games, but I also think, (i could be wrong), that you can choose to just watch them too. I could see that making blind people feel like they were really on the sidelines, yelling at their team when they screw up, which as i understand it is kind of the point of that mode.Anyway, these are just a few little ideas. Trying to offer a kind of baseline here given my lack of experience with this game, and hoping I have done an OK job. I may contribute more if i think of anything else, but thank you again, and best of luck. Here's hoping the rest of EA gets psyched about this too.

I don't think anyone is doing that, if so, I'd be glad to stand corrected. If someone came up with a tool to parse that data and sonify it so we could interpret it. That's a lot of complex information in a spectral graph though, so I don't know if or how it could be done.

I've played, or should I say, tried to play, Uncharted 4 using the new Sony platinum headset, and it is rather an incredible experience. I can't really play it, because there's so much of the soundscape that's lacking, but the 3D audio itself is quite incredible. So to summarize: audio tones, either rising/falling in pitch, or a pattern of sorts, and vibration. oh! can't forget console specific features. like the Dualshock 4's speaker. You could always have particular audio cues going through that as well. picking your roster is a great example. I own both consoles so I'm totally psyched whichever way this goes. Feel free to throw more ideas Karen's way guys! Let's make this happen!

Hi Jason,I definitely want to give Moo a try, but with the conflict between VIP Mud's scripting and the server I feel discouraged. Has anyone on here coded with moo and VIP Mud? I've also tried Coffee Mud but it seems a bit complex. Besides, I rather not code in Java lol. Perhaps I can find another mud client that's just as accessible to screen readers...

Greetings SilverMoon.Firstly, in order to cancel a construction, press enter on the building you want to cancel then press shift delete to cancel. If the building has materials before cancellation then you will lose half of the materials in the construction site. Secondly, make sure the hospital is complete and also make sure it's open. Press enter on the building in question to bring up the building information; use up and down arrow keys to go up or down the menu and when you get to 'open' or 'closed' then press backspace if it's closed to open the building. You will want a doctor to heal your wounded and ill. Finally, if you're up to it, play around with your save file; you can even build buildings you normally cannot if you edit it. I've been known to build Tudor houses, walls, animal farms, stables, monasteries, war tents, prisons and the like in mission 1 and above even before such buildings become available in the building menu

I'd say MOO is probably the easiest to start with, since there's no C/C++ coding involved, unless you want to extend the server.A similar option would be an LP codebase, though LP is more complex than MOO.I had the idea to start my own MUD codebase consisting of a small binary written in C or C++ which would only handle sockets, and have the rest of it written in a language like Python or Lua, but I haven't actually worked on it.

all the stuff you are doing though manuel is already done for you on the play store in google. why not just take android 5.0 or 5.1 or even up to 6.0 custom rom with your own android launcher and app suite and stuff throw it on a RCA tablet with physical keyboard dock and there you go you got a great note taker with additional access to google play store and services and even google classroom and eloquence tts.

also guys I cannot believe that for just $80 united states dollars, I have a great notetaker with magnetic snap in physical keyboard and braille support with the orbit reader20 prototype and brailleback and touch braille with soft braille keyboard if i want touch braille, if I want it, no antivirus needed since it is not rooted at all. I can go anywhere on the web with my RCA blind-accessible notetaker I got from walmart with no fear of viruses at all oh yeah and i use eloquence on my RCA notetaker as its main tts engine but if i wish i can use and buy others. oh and also it has a full size USB port, micro usb, and HDMI port. it also reads my 256gb flash drives no problem. i can read all kinds of ebooks on it including bard books, daisy books, bookshare, and more. google docs sheets and slides work great along with access note for all my notetaker needs. i would love a self-voicing keysoft-like interface for it though with some more accessible apps.

Just because you use two different computers doesn't mean you're safe. If a piece of malware is network aware, it could reach out to other machines on the same network and try to infect them. I hope you have a firewall of some kind running on your own machines.

also guys I hardly ever use the touch screen on my RCA android tablet. I keep it snapped into its magnetic snap in physical keyboard dock use it in laptop mode and use the keyboard 95% of the time. i just use touch with some apps i have that are not as keyboard friendly. but nearly all the time i use its physical keyboard especially for typing and web browsing.

Hi everyone,I was wondering if anyone can point me to a simple codebase to start with? I get that coding takes time and there may not be a 'simple one', in which case: which is your favorite? I thought of starting out with Moo (even though it's old) but I'm trying to grasp the idea of objects and hierarchies.Speaking of Moo, is it even usable with VIP mud? I tried using a  simple function like player:tell, and I got a popup with an error. I thought it was from the server itself, but just in case, I tried it with telnet(don't judge!) and it worked. I suspect VIP was thinking I'm trying to code a script for it instead. There's gotta be a way to disable direct parsing on the client side... Then again, it may be something else. I was just thinking of coding with VIP since I can't think of a better client at the moment. Then again, If there's a better and easier codebase that works just fine with VIP that would be even bette

I have a suggestion. start your project over. but this time develop your notetaker main menu and apps as a combination android launcher and app suite to go along with it. then just encourage people to go buy RCA voyager or galileo pro larger tablets with magnetic snap in physical keyboard docks. then if folks wish, they could use your self voiceing launcher and app suite. or if they wish they could venture out into the regular android world when they are more comfortable with the device. also take soft braille keyboard and integrate it tightly into the system and make it the default keyboard at startup. then for $100 we could have custom RCA android tablets with your special custom android notetaker rom running on them. android is just linux with the touch interface, launchers apps and some google services and google package manager slapped on top. so please i think it is in your best interest to base your note taker on one of the RCA android tablets with its snap in m

you don't need a note taker. just get one of the RCA android tablets with its magnetic snap in physical keyboard dock. want a tablet? pull up on the screen, the screen detaches from the keyboard and you got a touch screen only tablet. want it to be a laptop or notetaker? just line it up with the pins on the back of the keyboard and snap the screen back onto the keyboard it snaps in with very strong magnets. and voila! you got a nice laptop and notetaker with a real physical keyboard.

why? again I ask why do I need such a notetaker when the RCA galileo pro that runs android and android sits on top of linux. and my galileo pro has a physical keyboard dock and built in screen reader accessible at first setup. you can use brailleBack and accessNote app and many other accessible apps. oh yeah and web browsing on the RCA galileo pro is wonderful with its snap-in-magnetic keyboard dock

yes i agree. I got a RCA galileo pro tablet from walmart with physical keyboard dock and built in screen reader for $80 united states dollars. And with the right apps you got a great note-taker and media player already. the RCA galileo pro works great especially when connected to wired or bluetooth speakers.

So I stumbled on this thread, not sure if anyone's looking at it anymore. When I came across it, I was hoping more for like a game, rather than anything browser based. Most browser based stuff is either just too graphic, and even if it is 100 percent accessible, only go so far. I too, was hoping for something like the sims games. Second life, yeah I tried the client, but I never could figure out how to start or how to work any of it. However, hearing the replies, I take it, even with the client, it isn't all that accessible. Which is a true pity. I would have been open to giving it another try with some guideance.

The thing about Pendragon, is that the stats aren't static.All throughout a playthrough, those stats will go up and down, so trying to pin down a specific character build is extremely frustrating.That's why actions that you think should have a certain effect, often times end up having another.All in all though, a really good game, especially since it gives the Arthurian mythos a new flavor.

I think that I formed the word against the south wall sort of across from the ascending ladder. @annellin, What did you do when you finished the newbie academy in Avalon? (or whatever it's called). this was the point I got up to before getting lost sinsce I didnt' really know which class to try. Once I tried a bard and as I said while people were very nice in the bard's guild, at the same time it was just "learn this skill" "learn that skill" with no idea what the skills were or what I was really doing. I then had to go offline and I just thought "what the hell is there to do! in this game?" since while there are help files up to the sky didn't seem to be a way to actual get into activities, eg, no quest master or crafting guild to give you missions or whatever. I gather that a lot comes from interacting with other players but as I said there I really wasn't sure what I should do. I suppose I should really just dive in and create another char and try a nutral class like loremaster just to
  see what the game has to offer since I did get the idea there was a lot to do in the game, it was just that after the newbie academy I couldn't really find a way to start into doing it.

Yes, I am aware of screen reading, but many features may not be best suited to it. The kick meter, for example, I would assume would be best with indicator tones of when to press the button. I'm not sure if tones are appropriate for the stamina bar, or if there's a preferred type of sound. I have no idea how to better communicate the locations of all players on the field, and if a player is in danger of being tackled, or should try to tackle - more tones, somehow?I'd like to put together some business cases that would really help game play, and I'd prefer not to assume what I think people might need -- odds are I wouldn't get it quite right, even with my best attempt.Suggestions are very welcome.

Don't worry its his computer.Its no my computer.Yes, I do have add blockers and a few other things I will probably put sophos on there.He is the admin of his own box, its not shared to the network as such, we all have our own systems, he has his own dropbox, his own skype, his own everything.His stuff is seperated from my system, we don't even use the same account.For me its more of me trying to make him aware, he is generally good.Its almost like he thinks he is clicking something but then he isn't almost like he is sleeping at the board or something.Its weird.I could restrict his stuff but its his stuff, thank god we all have seperate units.I know if I talk with him he will eventually get it.Ironcross his stuff is not my stuff, so its not going to go anywhere.I have also got malwarebytes running in the system.I've also installed sophos home on the system just now so it should be fine.

Um, [[wow]], slow down guys.1.  unless something has changed you shouldn't need to bother about a support page.Yes, eventually when the new hub comes out we will have some sort of payment plan but as far as I know that thing is still not being shared so its not happening till it does.Till it does audiogamehub, the cricket game, etc are fully free for all time that is till the game is intergrated to the hub.I havn't even seen the upgrade so if I havn't seen the upgrade chances are you havn't either.You shouldn't get stuck on the support page.You shouldn't need to click support at all its a menu option unless my version is quite old which it may be.How many android users are effected with double click issues, are you sure you need to double click, have you read the tutorial to make sure you are in deed doing the right things.Are apple users getting the same issue.

I used pygame, for the visuals and also for the sounds.  Pygame has some very good on line docs and tutorials.  For the screen reader support I used Accessible Output 2, however the docs for this are pretty much non existent.  I am told Piglet is a good alternative to Pygame but I have not tried it out at all.  Hope that helps in some way.

As far as I know there's only one Skullgirls, the rest are upgrades. So you grab the bass skullgirls game which comes with accessibility anyway, then grab the second encore update to get all the dlc characters and stuff. Or, you might have to grab that and then the characters too, I'm not too sure.

Well, I actually did figure out, how to search games by their release date, and also got to the conclusion, that the most popular, active competition obviously takes place on the Origo online scoreboardnowadays, so I downloaded and tried out the most of Origo-Gomez games.Luckily I found 2 of them, which I like enough to start competing with others on the game-scoreboard, namely Death on the road, and Insect therapy.I also "discovered" 2 other interesting games with active-enough online-competition, Screaming strike, Rocky's space invaders, and Magic blocks, so that I have "satisfied" my "competing-desire" for now, LOL!It's just that I still got no reply from Draconis regarding their pinballs, one of which I (after all) do intend, but am unable to buy...While at it, can someone please tell me, if there is a high-score list in those pinballs at least for my own best results, or the game remembers only the very highest
  one, meaning my "record"?Edit:In case I won't receive a reply from Draconis soon, I decided to buy the game called Lords of the galaxy, after all, I always wished for a futuristic, space-based monopoly-type game, LOL!

Hello, I'm an accessibility volunteer at EA, and am currently a Madden developer. I'm the one behind the twitter https://twitter.com/ea_accessibleI had several suggest I create an account here, for feedback purposes.I know several of you have played Madden at some point, and I'm aware that it isn't as blind friendly as it could be. I'm interested in any feedback or suggestions of what works, what doesn't work, and how the game can potentially be improved.I was asked to provide additional information on the game, to make it easier to provide feedback.  Since only one link is allowed per message, I'll post the links in new messages.To be clear, I'm gathering information so the team is aware of the issues. I'm only a volunteer and accessibility advocate, so I have no specific power to enforce change - but I can at least find out information in the effort to ma

I've got my hands too full with bokurano daibouken, but I'm hoping this project ocmes through. One thing I will say... if you use google translate and then just fix up the translations, that'll be passable at best... there are going to be many nuances and contexts that are just untranslatable through a computer... so frankly, a kickstarter campaign, even if it takes longer, would be the best way to go. If I had more time, I would offer to help as I am a native speaker of both Mandarin and English.

You may have to resort to DBANhttps://dban.org/I have had to use this for certain types of viruses. Just have a windows install disk handy after you use this thing, if you are still worried about infection.

So Skullgirls actually has decent keyboard controls? I didn't know that was an option. I'll actually try harder into getting it now. I have a few questions though. Which Skullgirls is more accessible, or are they both the same? Is there a way to make sure it will run on my system before i get it? It could just be me but ...How would a completely audio-only tutorial for learning how to program even work?To the people who are asking for this, how would it need to work? I mean ...if I'm learning a programming language I'll often enough have to look up the exact syntax of a certain construct, would I have to rewind and fast-forward through a huge audio file to listen to how someone else typed it? How is that in any way or form practical?Don't get me wrong, for the big picture and for explaining certain things I think audio could be a good medium ...but for the nitty gritty bits I really don't recommend it. If you want an audio tutorial, Set your screenreader to SayAll and have a Nuance voice read you the blog posts, I think that might be a good compromise Zersiax

Well, I actually did figure out, how to search games by their release date, and also got to the conclusion, that the most popular, active competition obviously takes place on the Origo online scoreboardnowadays, so I downloaded and tried out the most of Origo-Gomez games.Luckily I found 2 of them, which I like enough to start competing with others on the game-scoreboard, namely Death on the road, and Insect therapy.I also "discovered" 2 other interesting games with active-enough online-competition, Screaming strike and Magic blocks, so that I have "satisfied" my "competing-desire" for now, LOL!It's just that I still got no reply from Draconis regarding their pinballs, one of which I (after all) do intend, but am unable to buy...While at it, can someone please tell me, if there is a high-score list in those pinballs at least for my own best results, or the game remembers only the very highest one, meaning my "record&

several have questioned or have had the issue of not being able to play with out giving basicly.  i learned this myself but after i posted but, all  worked ok and sorry for those who, have had issues on nexus p on android.   i've given and the game is quite awesome.  this is an awesome game to say the least and am happy i helped them out.  even if its alittle.  i do wish that the game was more online interms of verses mode etc.  but it appears that its only to compare scores. etc.   i do know this is on ios for being on there website, it shows it for both platforms.

Please drop out of the dropbox folders you are in as I know we are in at least one together and I don't want to be infected. I'll be pissed if this happens, so do us both a favor and just remove yourself until its fixed. Dropbox has a two step folder removal, so you can remove yourself, but then with one click be back in again unless you choose the remove permanently option.

Ok it's easy. Right click on nhl 2004.exe, and check the box to run the program as administrator. set the compatibility mode to windows 7. Do the same with the file launcher.exe

Also, some tools like Visual Studio work better with fast SSD, a good amount of ram, and fast processor. I believe Mac book air uses mobile version of intell's processors. (I could be wrong on this though).

Dark, Regarding Avalon, I got Mercinae at my city, and I liked it. The players were very nice, and I had a lot of help. I didn't went into combat, so I cant tell you much about that, but exploring was nice, and pacifism, if I got it right, protects people from PVP. To get the farming skill up, you need to be  online a lot, But I like the game.
