So far, haven't had any bad expereicnes with Android other than things definitely being harder to find in the area of settings and the like. But the screen does seem to be more sensative than that of IOS, in that it's a lot easier to do accidental gestures. It's not a bad thing, just means you have to be more precise and deliberate with what you do. but the stock samsung keyboard is awesome! All it needs is dictation, and I'd be happy with it.

The price is ok, that is true. But I don't think, it could count as an excuse for low quality. I mean, every other company, which sells Audioplays, offers it in 256 KB/s. And especially, when it comes to Audioble's AAX, that shouldn't be too much to ask. I found a few of the plays that I bought also on some other place. A place, where you can, well let's call it, just take the stuff. And that version had a much better quality then the version from Audible. And if I would work for Audible, I would feel sort of ashamed. LOL. I mean, you want to get people away from obtaining stuff in a way, that excludes paying, right?

@Shrike, depression isn't fun. One thing I've done myself in the past though is to simply realize! I have depression and so regard my own judgements about myself with suspicion. If  find myself saying "x is  crap because I did it" I try to stop and rationalise. After all I know I! am not a good judge  the quality of what I'm able to do, therefore why should I pay attention to myself. After all If some rabid, man hating  ultra feminist judged something I did as crap just because I possess a Y chromosome I would say that her judgement is biased. Same with my own. Why for example do you assume you are "lazy" for not going to the shops when it requires concentration etc. Would you call anyone else! lazy for  doing so? Being blind is not easy, and  some ultra harsh critic commenting on everything you do will not make the situation easier.

Well this discussion  is getting a wee bit too close to the subject of my thesis for me to want to embark upon it too far when I'm not actually working, but I will point out Shrike that logically the fact that you know blind people from birth probably means that you know the competent ones, simply because the incompetent ones I've found tend to also be those who categorically don't associate with others much.I once met  a blind boy of 16 who could not use a knife and fork since his parents had always cut up his food for him, and even needed a none slip mat for his bowl since he could not eat with a spoon  without shaking his plate around the table, and my lady tells me of one woman she met in her twenties who apparently could not dress herself since she did not know how to do up buttons or zips, let alone shoe laces.I've also known people myself in less drastic, but just as difficult situations, people who for example have no conver
 sational skills and only ever associate with the few blind people they met at school or camp and have little motivation to do anything besides talk to those people from that specific clique.So as usual, all generalisations are wrong .

NVDA has an optional feature in which it plays a tone when the mouse moves, indicating both the cursor position and the brightness of the screen at that position. Something like that seems relatively straightforward to implement, if cross-platform speech is not. Just something to help identify what is under the cursor, possibly with decreased volume if it's further into the background, for example. I'm glad someone is doing this, and I wish you the best of luck

As much as I dislike BGT, if this is your first experience in programming, BGT may be more immediately rewarding.As to Pyglet, the usual way is to pull in LibaudioverseI would also recommend building a sound cache, kind of like a memoizer but for sound, but you may not be able to do that if you have just gotten started.Anyway, if you would like to continue on with Pyglet, feel free to post here.

I don't know what the switch on the right does on 25-1, but you don't need it to get past that screen. I don't know if it's just a trap or if it does something useful.What you need to do is hit the switch on the left, then go down to the door at platform 100. Kill all the stamina bots, but careful not to destroy the metal box. Get the piece from the box, then go back and hook up to 200. Go in the door, use the piece on the keyhole, then do the same, kill everything, without destroying the box, then get the piece and take the lift all the way down to 0 and exit via the door. Also if you don't have the lift sensor, you should first go up to the door at the very top on the left. Destroy the two jets, but be careful not to destroy the lift sensor left behind. You don't need the sensor but it's useful for letting you know when the lift is coming, and for when you're on the lift approaching a platform.

Hey there, Long time lurker, don't post often. I've recently learned the basics of python, and heard that pyglet was a good place to start for audio game development.  After searching online I found a few tutorials for how to get pyglet working, but nothing regarding sounds.  I looked through the documentation, but that wasn't much help either.  So, are there any tips, tricks or tutorials for working with python and pyglet, or is it best to work with another language and  library entirely?Thanks in advance for any replies.  This seems like a great hobby to get into, but I'm pretty unclear on where to start.

I gotta say, after about an hour of fiddling with the samsung setup and voice assistant tutorial, Android 7 on a galaxy s8 isn't nearly as bad as people say it is. the keyboard is manageable as well. I just need to figure out how to switch to English US so I can purchase eloquence from the play store. The setup had me on english Canada which is the default, but I couldn't figure out how to change that screen.

Is the damage given by mines dependent on the attack stat or something? Because well, I was in 24 4 and something funny happened. I took rid of everything else than the launcher system, it had 90 percent hp or something. Then, I set a large mine on its path, and boom, when it exploded, it died instantly, I went to look in the combat log, and woops, 5 million damage or so, instant death! I wonder if that thing is weak to mines, or is my attack just really good or something, or is it dependent on level?

I am also a bit unhappy with the similarities between Bomb Disarmer and Simon, but as there's already been a lot of great feedback on that so far, I won't harp on it. Just throwing in my two cents that I'd like to see some different sounds in Bomb Disarmer, but I do agree about having Simon soundpacks not being a great idea.Is the cricket game going to remain its own app forever, or are there plans to integrate that into the actual hub at some point? I don't mind either way, I'm just curious.I look forward to a PC version as well. I was always much better at archery and blocks on the PC than I ever was on the phone. Also, I'm having a lot of trouble getting anywhere in Cricket, and have a feeling that a PC version would be a lot less frustrating.

Ok what happens is, in 25 1 there are 2 switches at y 300, one at the left and one at the right, when I activate the one on the left, it just vanishes as though it has been flipped, but the right one teleports me to that blade thing in the center, I tried activating it several times, and still no luck. Am I doing something wrong?

I know it's easy for me to right this, but... Cultivate faith in yourself. The world will try to break this down but all you can do is realize that you are worth it, and good enough, and those emotional responses  don't understand who you really are. It's fine to make small steps towards a goal. You don't need to accomplish everything at once. Let yourself adjust to site loss. When I was a young child until like 13 or so, I had some usable vision, but now I hardly ever use my vision for anything because around that time I quickly lost a portion of my vision, and from then I can't use it for crossings and things. I had to do everything by ear... Point is, you have to give yourself the chance to adjust. If the world will let you, try to learn at your pace.

Hello. This seems pretty lagit. Tell me, what are you using for modding? Are you writing your own custom mods, or are these just mod packs for now. I've been trying to figure out a good way for writing Minecraft mods for altering the UI to be quite a bit more accessible, but I don't know where to find some means of accessible modding program. I'm glad to see this project going smoothly. It would be even better if we could come up with a good accessible UI framework in general to add onto other mods, such as the wonderful Ars Magicka mod. Well, That's enough rambling. I'll add a TL;DR.TL;DR Any good modding tools, Preferably that might be just an API to work with in something like Eclipse? We should work on an accessible UI, and find a way to expand upon that later to work with other mods that add additional UIs.

What do I do in 25 1? There's a door somewhere that leads to another room with a couple doors, and keyhole a. But even though I have the key a from stage 23, I can't use it to unlock that keyhole. And on the main area, there's a switch but i'm not sure on how many times i should press it or what I should do. And eventually when I keep hitting the switch, I soon get killed by a bladelike thing.

Hi.@Orko: Since RTR originally is a free game, I won't charge for this. The server side is not build to handle accounts anyway, so if I would do that, it's currently not possible.@Dgleks: There is no Linux version of the server available, so I'm using Wine.

I found a program which does all the conversion stuff for me, and since I think 126 kb/s is enough to enjow a radioplay and audiobooks without missing something important out, I'll stay with Audible. Hi.I guess that could work to panned sounds in the stereo field then you need to find the sound with the mouse or if on pc select it with the arrow keys and be quick about it similar to the old lworks lock breaking game I havn't fiddled with that for ages.

Sorry guys. I neglected to respond to some questions that popped up later in this topic.I think for the time being, we're just going to keep the voices in English. There's a degree of unrealism when you're ordering in Spanish, but the waiter (who is only in English) is responding in a completely different language.I don't know how I feel about iPhone recordings this time around. Mind you, I did say I'd be more generous with these voice submissions, so all I can say is do your best to get a very quiet environment if you *must* use an iPhone microphone, and we'll see how it goes from there.You don't even need to get a blue Yeti to record acceptable vocals. A Behringer XM8500 is 15 bucks or so on Amazon, and there's a really good pile-pro microphone for about 20 bucks. Add in an XLR to USB adapter cable, and it comes out to be about around 30. Add a desk stand for about $12 more, and a foam ball pop filter for about $2 to $
 5, and you're basically set. If you absolutely had to cut corners, you could go without the stand, you'd just have to make sure to hold the microphone at the same distance all the time, and accept that you're going to have to be very careful about handling noise.I've only got one person submitting so far, so this is me saying come on boys and girls. The more voices we get, the more unique the game will sound. If we don't get enough entries, I'll just have to resort to using generic sfx and babbling for the customers, something which will rob the game of its personality.Kai

That adds more blocks and even machines in the game.I also completely understand these requirements. Along the lines of screen reading, TTS, and such will be included once we reach that end goal.For us to reach those said end goals however we are currently trying to establish our foundation. when you put it like that I see what you mean,  it seems like as in  all able bodied people its more of an individual aspect to it rather than the disability.so its more based on each person dealing with sight loss in there own way,  all I can say is the people who I talk about obviously have strong characters,  and let nothing in life stop them doing stuff what they desire.in my case people might just think I am being lazy not trying hard enough to gain my own independence, but in my own opinion,its far from the truth, its more the depression dragging me further down and making me believe theres nothing much to live for. which again is a totally new illness that manifested its way to the surface since my blindness.I no 1 thing for sure though, my sight loss was the catalyst for all the other issues that come about, so it just means when I compare it to others I come to the conclusion I am just a weak human being that can't cope 
 what life throws at me.

S FX question: How exactly does Pitch Shift work?

Hello, all.I recently asked a questiona bout how Philip Benfal created the sounds for the Alpha Urchin in Self Destruct. Someone had suggested that they could have used Pitch-shifting. However, I can't find anything on the web about how you can take one single voice and raise or lower the pitch, while at the same time giving it unusual number of odd or even harmonics in the process. Could someone explain more about how this process works?In Audacity, I have something called Ladspa Plugins, which has something called AM Pitch shift. It has the pitch shift, and buffer size. I have a theory that the higher you go, the faster the beatings you will get. I don't know where the beatings come from, unless it is generating some kind of tone  that makes it give you the odd harmonics.Any further information on this would be great.Thanks!

Here's an idea though it might not be very popular.Take a page from Aprone and charge for a server account. The idea being that if you have to pay for and the threat of a permanent ban may not be so appealing and thus deter cheating.Aprone's Swamp Readme wrote:When online games allow you to sign up with only a name or an email address, those games are very easy for hackers to destroy. If you agree on this, then feel free to just post a name and a description and if it's a space, a description on what should happen.When designing a space which have a behavior, you need to think about all the 3 classes of characters. If you don't do that, we'll end up with a game which is easier with one class than the others. So if you don't write behaviors for all classes, I might need to pick some for you to make the gameplay fair for everyone..Here is the instructions copied from the readme. Please let me know if you don't find this clear or if you have any questions.Each line after is a new type of
  space in the game world.  Each line is split up into 3 pieces of information separated with an equals sign.  The first part is the space's name, then its description, and finally its behavior.  I think name and description are pretty easy to understand, so I'll only explain the behavior portion.You can group together multiple behaviors, and each behavior is inside of its own square brackets.  Lowercase "g" stands for gold.  If you were to type [g4], then the player gains 4 gold when landing on this space.  You could also do [g-2] to have 2 gold taken away.  Lowercase "d" stands for damage.  You can cause damage or heal damage in the same way you can hand out gold.  Lowercase "a" stands for arrows, lowercase "r" stands for warrior rage, and lowercase "m" stands for mana.  A space behavior of [d-5][r-2][g15] would heal the player for 5, lower a warrior's rage by 2
 , and give them 15 gold.  If you use capital letters instead of lowercase letters, I'm pretty sure it won't work... too lazy to test it though.You are welcome to add in as many new spaces as you wish.  I think the file currently contains 29, but the server can support up to 999.  The server randomly picks from this list as it creates the game world, so you don't ever actually get to pick where each type of land will be.Customizing the monsters:Each of the following lines is a monster type.  Just like the land spaces, the different parts are separated with an equals sign.  Blazing had 15 types of monsters, but the server supports up to 999.First you have the monster's name, then its description.  Next is the monster's health, then its minimum damage, maximum damage, and finally its reward.  You should recognize the reward from space behaviors earlier.  Just enter a new number after "g
 ot; to choose how much gold the player will earn by killing this monster.  The Blazing server will randomly upgrade monster health, damage, and even reward as it assigns those monster titles.

Well, what exactly are you trying to challenge? At risk of asking a silly question. If the sounds are distinct, sound sufficiently high-tech and relate somewhat to bombs, code entry or whatever, then I shouldn't have a problem. The only condition is that the sounds have known positions, which you can either announce verbally ("this sound is the top left...") or which can be discovered, much as now.

SLJ thank you very much for providing me the welcoming to this community.  Regarding the accessibly aspects. Relative to the industry standards of Minecraft servers our server is indeed more accessible compared to nearly all servers in the Minecraft gaming community.  Our accessibly features specific to the blind community includes features such as allowing the graphics to be easier to see (such as being bright in game at all time without impacting mob spawns for example), custom in game indicator of tools and armor durability, and bearing more audio input from the game.  So to put it shortly currently it accessibl
 e to those who may have difficulties seeing in game like myself. I for one can have much easier time looking at how much durability my gears have and being able to see the in game graphics far easier. We do plan down the road however improving the accessibly of the game so that as many people as possible will be able to play this game to it's fullest.   However before we are able to do this we need to establish a foundation. Hmmm, I am not sure how many people hear have enough residual vision to help with the project at this stage in development. I for  example cannot read text at all and use a screen reader, and while I can play 16 bit style 2d games like platformers (I still love my Snes), generally speaking full 3D games are out for me since visually speaking the special relations are too complex even if I can see where the in game objects are on screen. Similarly, I do not use a mouse on the computer and would find using a pointer difficult I think. indeed one thing I like about 16 bit era games is the use of highlighted menus rather than a mouse pointer meaning I either see the menu highlighting to change game options or count key presses.If you let us know a little more about minecraft generally perhaps we'd be in a better position to say whether we can help here.

Well since I actually cannot read the text I don't think the game would be doable for me, quite aside from the 3D issue.  if you ever include tts for options and objects please let me know, though it is also possible the graphics are too 3D for me. I'm in the same position as Slj here, all I know about minecraft is that it is 3d, and graphical and you mine blocks and build things as if you were using lego bricks .I think there are some rpg features with quests and stuff as well, but again I really don't know much about the game so a bit of explanation about Minecraft generally and this accessible server in particular might be very helpful. heck, I actually deleted minecraft off this computer when I got it since as a heavily graphical game I didn't think it'd be something I particularly needed .

 efriendly again I very much understanding where your coming from regarding your difficulties playing these types of game.  While for example the game options and main menus are actually quite fitting what your saying (highlighting what your hovering over before you actually have to click it). I could indeed see you unfortunately having difficulties still especially within the in game chat tab and inventories.   As for the game play itself, it is in the genre of a sandbox game play. Meaning in this game you pretty much survive in the game however you wish with some in game conditions you have to be aware of. For example sheltering up to keep the mobs from coming after you and such.  Beyond typical Minecraft survival this mod pack extends this by allowing players to create machines for processing and such.     Again I fully understand that the game is some what away from being "100% accessible" but everyon
 e has to start somewhere right?

Correct, 64 kbps mono and 128 kbps stereo, i.e. two low-complex streams. No doubt iTunes is made happier by AAC, but of course it's a standard and not a bad choice either. If you use ffmpeg and know your activation secret, you can turn your "enhanced" (.aax) files into m4b files, which are basically iTunes audiobook format MPEG4 containers with chapter marking metadata. Any player that plays AAC audio files can then play them.I'm with ThePlayer. Buy from Audible if you must, which in practice means a lot more than I'd prefer to especially for dramas, as in this case. But to be sure, once you have learned to decrypt your files, it suddenly becomes worthwhile, and a superior alternative to ripping it yourself from old cassettes. And really, that's just how the copyright maximalists prefer it.

Well this discussion  is getting a wee bit too close to the subject of my thesis for me to want to embark upon it too far when I'm not actually working, but I will point out Shrike that logically the fact that you know blind people from birth probably means that you know the competent ones, simply because the incompetent ones I've found tend to also be those who categorically don't associate with others much.I once met  a blind boy of 16 who could not use a knife and fork since his parents had always cut up his food for him, and even needed a none slip mat for his bowl since he could not eat with a spoon  shaking his plate around the table, and my lady tells me of one woman she met in her twenties who apparently could not dress herself since she did not know how to do up buttons or zips, let alone shoe laces.I've also known people myself in less drastic, but just as difficult situations, people who for example have no conversational
  skills and only ever associate with the few blind people they met at school or camp and have little motivation to do anything besides talk to those people from that specific clique.So as usual, all generalisations are wrong .

SLJ thank you very much for providing me the welcoming to this community.  Regarding the accessibly aspects. Relative to the industry standards of Minecraft servers our server is indeed more accessible compared to nearly all servers in the Minecraft gaming community.  Our accessibly features specific to the blind community includes features such as allowing the graphics to be easier to see (such as being bright in game at all time without impacting mob spawns for example), custom in game indicator of tools and armor durability, and bearing more audio input from the game.  So to put it shortly currently it accessibl
 e to those who may have difficulties seeing in game like myself. I for one can have much easier time looking at how much durability my gears have and being able to see the in game graphics far easier. We do plan down the road however improving the accessibly of the game so that as many people as possible will be able to play this game to it's fullest.   However before we are able to do this we need to establish a foundation. hi TJ,my comments regarding people who were blind from birth was based on the people I know as friends, so although its quite a few people I guess I am still generalising.but everyone of them agrees with me in the sense that it must be much more traumatic trying to adjust to a completely different world, 1 of my friends lives in Germany and regulary travels the world litrally on his own which I find truly amazing.I on the other hand am petrified when I go out alone, up to a point where I developed a kind of irritable bowel syndrome, where I have soiled myself due to stress in getting lost and needed the toilet so bad.so like I said previously, all the blind people I know from birth or went blind at a very early age certainly seem to manage far better in general terms.

Ahoy there.post 530, the installer does not need to be in english because welp, its nothing but a self extracting archive. write in the address,press enter. so me thinks the language doesn't matter at all.The very first post has a link to the setup that works,you need to donate $5 or more if you like,to get the dictionary. link to which is again,in the first post.@Dark, personally I think you'd be better off restarting and investing points into attack and defense rather than trying to fix this. Of course it can be fixed,but at 2.2,the former would be far easier than the latter.Remember though, you don't need to stand at a place and hammer your enemies,you can move and do so, or leave them behind,or attack them front an back, I.E hit them when they are coming from the right,as soon as they are about to get in range to hit you,move right jump and move if you like,turn left,hit, as soon as they are in range to be able to hit you,run left,turn

Hello, all!So I recently went to one of my favourite podcasts at http://www.EyesonSuccess.net/ where I actually ended up taking a trip to a Chemistry Camp session thanks to them. I learned about something called Vinux and Raspberry VI, which is an accessible variant of the PI.When I learned about using SSH on Windows, I learned that I needed to get a client that allows you to run SSH commands like Sigwin or PUtY. Are these fully accessible, or do you prefer to use a specific one? If so, why or why not?
