Hey everyone, so you probably noticed that development has slowed to a crawl temporarily. This is because I got a really incredible (temporary) new job, doing sound and voice dialogue for an upcoming software exhibition in my city. It's bad in the sense that I have almost no time to devote to Lost and Hound, but it's good in the sense that I have a job and I'm able to support myself much more easily. I will soon be putting in full time work on the weekends, to have it ready for PAX Aus. The upcoming changes involve a scent trail that is much easier to follow. I double the scent trail, and made the doubled version much smaller so now it fades from nothing to a slightly louder scent trail in a much easier way - you can really figure out which direction the scent trail goes in much easier.I exhibited the game at a local games and art playtesting/viewing night, and people loved it. They were all sighted, and they all really, really struggled 
 but enjoyed the struggle, as using hearing to deduce information almost exclusively was new to them. More coming SOON!!!

hi therenice to see a new developer anyways slite problem here, if you reach 99, it seams you are completely stuck, cause the dice just role 6 to 8 or around that.or I am not so lucky to get 1 that time, haha not sure.small suggestion, I think after you role the dice it will be better if the game announce the role number first, then the piece is move.

Useful Python Packages?

Hello.Well I'm working very hard to learn python. I couldn't get pip to work at first but now I've got it working. I'm not a beginner programmer or advanced, I'm somewhere in the middle if that means anything. I understand syntax and how I would code basic things.So I wanted to create this topic to learn about what fellow programmers find are good or useful python packages. Like I said I have pip working so I can install packages easily, I just don't know what kinds of things i will need from the python package index. I want to make audiogames but I'm definitely willing to try designing other pieces of software. Please tell me about any modules that you find helpful, or easy to use, or just packages that do fun stuff with python.Thanks I'm eager to see where this topic goes.I did have a question though, I tried to install pyaudiogame with pip and it says can't find or satisfy requirements. Is this because pyaudio
 game was taken off the package index? Is pyaudiogame still being developed at all?

What TV show/movie are you watching aka recommendation and reviews

Ahoy all.I thought I'd post this to get peoples opinions on what to watch,and perhaps introduce each other to something new or something old we enjoyed.I'll begin with 2 sitcoms,as comedy is something I enjoy (too many crime series out there and they do get old fast),and these 2 are terrific comedy fests.How I met your motherA guy looking for "the one" and his many adventures along the way to finding her.Consists of 9 seasons, with a fun cast of characters of which I liked barney the most,with robin next,hard to choose though.Next is although should have been the very first I mentioned so don't take the order these are mentioned in into account friends the one that started it all.10 seasons,with characters
  that will have you rolling around on the floor. There's Joey, the food lover,struggling actor  slightly daft or should I say with not all his light bulbs on , Phoebe the street smart girl with a dark past who tends to joke around it slightly blonde too,come to think of it:D, then there's chandler the typical loser with  girls with an sarcastic comeback to almost anything, Monica the person who is obsessed about cleaning and organizing everything around her (a Chef), and ross Monica's brother,a paleontologist with a failed marriage to a lesbian wife,and the last Rachel, your typical rich girl trying to make it on her own.Seriously the funniest of anything I have watched so far, and I have done it twice I liked it so much. Honestly I wish it could go on forever,but nothing good does, I guess.So that's a start, Go ahead and suggest anything at all, perhaps something similar to the 2 series I posted above that you've enjoyed.p.s. I have linked to the first seasons of both the series, although How I met your mother is fully described up to season 9,its a shame that friends only got described up to season 2(watched it without audiodescription just fine though).Grryf

Are you referring to positioning the program window on the desktop? Or are you referring to positioning objects inside the program window, frame, or panels? There are a few functions available that allow you to get the dimensions and positions of the windows, frames, and panels that your using. For the main window sitting on the desktop it would be "GetPosition()" which returns a tuple with the x/y coordinates, and to set the windows position you can use "SetPosition((x,y))", the desktops current resolution being your working area. For reference in wxPython (0,0) always refers to the upper left corner, so a higher X value would move text, buttons, or images further right, and a higher Y value moves them further down.Positioning objects and text inside panels is quite similar, where you can also use GetPosition and SetPosition to place them. But to figure that out you need to know what the width and height of the panel or frame is to place it in, and what
  the width and height of the text or button is. To do this you can use "GetClientSize()" to find the desired frames or panels dimensions, and for text and buttons you can use "GetSize()".Now lets say you have a window thats 320 by 240 and you have a button thats 75 by 23, and you wanted to place the button roughly in the middle of the window. You'd take the width of the window and the button and divide them by two and subtract them, 120 - 12 (roughly) = 108, which is the middle of the window. Now if you wanted to put the button at the bottom of the screen, you'd take the height of the window and subtract the height of the button to use as the buttons Y position, as otherwise it would disappear off the bottom of the window! Now you can also make it so the window can't be resized to not have to deal with different resolutions too much, but another way would be to use Sizers which automatically scale and position panels and frames. Well, at least half of our Facebook Messenger problems have been fixed on mobile. The options now come up for most things, only problem I have is that when viewing destinations for a mission, viewing possible mining destinations, the message that would normally display this info isn't being displayed on the mobile version, and this is using the messenger app.On another note, I'm wondering how to best find resources to mine that gives me a few thousand per round? I seem to be in an area now with a lot of mining platforms taking up resources that I can't hand mine with the ship. Also, I wish there was a way for the computer to only show available transfer/delivery missions that my light drive can handle the range for. I just accepted one that I had to cancel because, while I could pick up the cargo, the destination was too far.

So, the Facebook app for iOs is very buggy. There is a lot of things to list here, but I will go over the serious accessibility bugs that I found using the Facebook app on my iPhone.1. Using Facebook Live: First of all, I can't even start a Facebook live. First, you have to double-tap on the live button. Second, I have to make sure that the camera is facing the front camera. But when I tap on the switch cameras button, it is stuck on, "Rear camera active."2. When doing a Facebook live video: When I tried to switch cameras in the live video, it only says, "Flip Camera, button."Also, when new updates come out on the app store, it always says, "Thanks for using Facebook! To make our app better for you, we bring updates to the App Store regularly. Every update of our Facebook app includes improvements for speed and reliability. As new features become available, we’ll highlight those for you in the app." How are we suppose to figure out in the app? Well, I don't know, but they should put what is fixed in the app store.Well, that is all for now. As far as the app size goes, it is also a problem too. @Ironcross, I have that same problem with my mind. I'm constantly thinking about being a jedi, or daredevil, or thinking about girls... Lol I can't actually set my mind on the task at hand like homework, I'm always thinking about something else. Usually when this happens if im imagining im a jedi or something and something epic like a fight is going on I rock faster because I get excited lol.

I don't know but for me, I don't tend to rock much, and when I do I realize it right away and stop. Most of my stimulation comes from inside my own mind, which is where I live. It's hard to explain but most of my attention isn't focused on the task at hand, but instead running things in my mind like simulations of battles, fantasies, creating little stories, creating landscapes and running scenarios. When I do something, I only use the needed power to do the thing and the rest is used up in my mind doing these things. I cannot be idle of mined, nor have I ever been able to. It actually used to scare the crap out of me when I was younger because I couldn't control it, it was bad for me because it would force me to spin things out into all possible ends, looking at all branches of a thing, all possible solutions, probabilities, etc. I used to hate it because it was like I wasn't really even in control. I did manage to learn how to channel it though, and
  now its more of a tool than anything else. I'm able to solve problems by anticipating logical outcomes before anyone else does. The daydreams, fantasies, scenarios and whatever else you want to call it is just a way to keep the mind moving I guess. It's like a fish that always has to move and can't swim backwards because it wouldn't be able to use its gills to breathe. In that way, my mind is always in motion. The only thing that ever really stops it is to get dead blasted drunk. Drinking blurs the edgs of it, which is nice. I have trouble focusing on one thing for too long. I prefer to have split things that I can jump between than to focus a lot of attention on one thing for too long. Most of the day to day things I do like showering, cooking, washing dishes, laundry, etc. That's autopilot all the way, I don't think about it at all when I do it.So the point is maybe that's why I don't rock. I think a lot of people don't know this about
  me, and I doubt I could explain it in a way that wouldn't freak them out a little. Sometimes I feel like everyone else is a bit weird, and I'm the only normal one, and sometimes I feel like I'm on a different level than everyone else. There have been very few people I've known I feel on a level with, or who at least understand me to some extent.

Interesting fact about Newark Airport: Someone who knows the U.S. better than I do can correct me, but I think I am correct in saying that Newark Airport, although in New Jersey, also counts as one of the three large airports in New York City (LaGuardia, JFK and Newark). This is because it goes across the border between New York and New Jersey. This is very useful because it is very difficult for international airlines to secure landing and take-off slots at JFK because of how busy it is, so using the less-popular Newark Airport opens up New York to some smaller airlines. Also, domestic and international airlines that want additional frequencies to New York often cannot fly to LaGuardia or JFK because they are at capacity.

Interesting fact about Newark Airport: Someone who knows the U.S. better than I do can correct me, but I think I am correct in saying that Newark Airport, although in New Jersey, also counts as one of the three large airports in New York City (LaGuardia, JFK and Newark). This is because it goes across the border between New York and New Jersey. This is very useful because it is very difficult for international airlines to secure landing and take-off slots at JFK because of how busy it is, so using the less-popular Newark Airport opens up New York to some smaller airlines.

Well, a lot of us have issues with girls I suspect.I have had good friends that while they have had a good relationship with a girl or a man as the case may be, they often get a bad one, one that gambles and runs off with their cash.I have a friend who's husband and all of us were really close.However for some reason he liked being online, he liked gam bling, and he liked dating girls online on those sort of spam sites.It completely destroyed his life, this wife is in another country with his child.And he has a girl or so every so often for a specified amount of time.We try to distance ourselves from this no hoper because it doesn't look good image wize yet we are sorry for someone that fell so low from having a good prospect in life.Closer to home a good friend of mine who I used to know at school has been trapped online.He meets girls, he has fun, he gives them money.He talks about it so much with my other friends t
 hey want to murder him.Eventually after the girl stays in carrier or china or something and stuff, it ends.He is sore about it but then gets another and repeats the cycle.He has done this for the last 10 years with the relationships lasting about 6 months to a year.I only hear this second hand mind you.The bet is he gets up to the dating part, the giving a lot of money to but she stays home and he eventually goes on to another scam.I've never been interested as such on a girl.But I have become trapped especially with online accounts into shopping for stuff and I have noticed I will splurge from time to time.I know I am doing it but always think its only this once and will have to try harder not to.I have heard enough of those debt programs about people destroying their lives, I really don't want to destroy mine.

Are you referring to positioning the program window on the desktop? Or are you referring to positioning objects inside the program window, frame, or panels? There are a few functions available that allow you to get the dimensions and positions of the windows, frames, and panels that your using. For the main window sitting on the desktop it would be "GetPosition()" which returns a tuple with the x/y coordinates, and to set the windows position you can use "SetPosition((x,y))", the desktops current resolution being your working area. For reference in wxPython (0,0) always refers to the upper left corner, so a higher X value would move text, buttons, or images further right, and a higher Y value moves them further down.Positioning objects and text inside panels is quite similar, where you can also use GetPosition and SetPosition to place them. But to figure that out you need to know what the width and height of the panel or frame is to place it in, and what
  the width and height of the text or button is. To do this you can use "GetClientSize()" to find the desired frames or panels dimensions, and for text and buttons you can use "GetSize()".Now lets say you have a window thats 320 by 240 and you have a button thats 75 by 23, and you wanted to place the button roughly in the middle of the window. You'd take the width of the window and the button and divide them by two and add them together, or 120 + 12 (roughly) = 132, which is the middle of the window. Now if you wanted to put the button at the bottom of the screen, you'd take the height of the window and subtract the height of the button to use as the buttons Y position, as otherwise it would disappear off the bottom of the window! Now you can also make it so the window can't be resized to not have to deal with different resolutions too much, but another way would be to use Sizers which automatically scale and position panels and frames

What is This garbage about learn python the hard way?

Hi.I've been going through the free version of this book, now I only get a sample. Why is this no longer free? It just refers me to learn ruby the hard way, I would do this but I don't like ruby's syntax. This is not on bookshare and the book costs 30 usd. I don't understand why something good like this is turning into a scam. I don't have the money to just blow like that. I love programming, and I like the style of the book. I could switch to another language, but I don't want to do that right now. I would prefer to use python. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I agree with Dark. I'm 20 and not concerned about a relationship just yet. I figure I'll meet someone and things will start from conversations. As far as I'm concerned, the quality of a person is the most important thing. Ideally, I'd like to find someone with the same general attitudes/beliefs I have. I do wonder if my generally introverted personality would negatively impact this? It's not to say I hate socializing and interacting with people, I just prefer interacting with one other person or a small group. I love having an interesting conversation with someone rather than going to a big social event like a party. I've discovered that's the best thing to do with someone else rather than going "out" and spending money on entertainment. I don't mind going to a restaurant and talking, but I'm questioning some other activities such as movie theaters that just waste money. The whole subject of movie theaters is for another topic
  though. This is an interesting discussion.

There is evidence -- overwhelming evidence, Ethin. Unfortunately, none of the involved parties have came forth. However, Sam has stated privately that the code Ivan used was, indeed, stolen from him.Further, knowing Ivan's previous conduct on this forum, and in the AudioGame world in general, I would tend to believe rumors regarding Ivan getting his paws on code that did not rightfully belong to him. Take, for example, Beyond the Bullet. That was a total UltraPower clone. He has also commented to me privately that he would steal code if it was good, and he wouldn't do anything about it. In other words, he'll steal code and not deal with the repercussions.Much of this evidence is circumstantial, and I will be the first to state this, however the evidence leaves a big, red arrow on the back of one Ivan Soto. Ivan, if you want this discussion to end, you will have to address it yourself. Explain all this from your side. And with that, I go back to carving

good post there apronetroof is, moderators don't have any proof that this game is stolen at all. And yes, there were menny posts saying something like, um, this game is clone of xx and nobody should play this. only evidence that they ever prezent is basicly that it's similar. How Ever, I musst say something. Clone is not just coppy pasting the source code, to me it's also steeling of ideas and or sounds or such. Off corse we cant be strict the same on all points, because it's very difficult to get brand new sounds, infact I don't know a game witch has completely original sounds. How ever, I musst say something. This topic was generally about all things what has made the killer going down the leest of everybodies favorite games. A possibility of being a clone of redspot was only one thing I have menchend. I have all reddy said to an other post that Ivan has very bad scils when it comes to moderating, and the way he treets his customers.@78

That would only be shocking for new users, and anyway you cant score anything by teaching people like that. only thing that everyone can actually do is to train there ignorance allittle bit. Hi,@Dark: hope the move goes well. The band concert sounds interesting!I recently got back from Feel The Force Day in Peterborough. This one wasspecial though, because it was Feel The Force Day 5.I felt honoured to be there, meeting all the characters again, and I met a person who I'd wanted to meet for years, who goes around as Captain Jack Sparrow, it was a lovely surprise because it's only taken four years, haha!It was good seeing some people from the predator group as well, but unfortunately some of them couldn't make it this year due to other real life commitments, and I did miss them.There was also a halloween style room with lots of toys in there that made sounds, and even fellow forumight SightlessKombat was there and joined us for a chat for a while. I received an Ultimate Source Shadow Jago figure based on Killer Instinct, as a gift from him that he purchased from the states.There was a very funny moment with a dancing s
 tormtrooper who was playing Prince music, I started to boogie along to it.One of the other really funny moments was during the scary room. The founder, JJ, showed up in a costume inspired by the Disney princesses. I don't think I've laughed like that for a long time.I got to have a photo on the Iron Throne of Game of Thrones fame, I was so surprised at how big it is. You are sat right back on the throne, feet almost dangling down, two swords next to you hanging out the throne where armwrests would normally be.I also spoke to a few guests who were there, and one of them was from Force Awakens and told me about how it was filmed, saying there were two BB-8 droids on set.Speaking of the princess characters, they were there again, accent and all, and I got to meet some new people helping out as these characters. One of them was Belle and she asked if I wanted to hear her sing, so I asked if she knew Something There, and when it came to the Beast's 
 part, I think I surprised her because I started to sing along. We then spoke about some theatre shows as well.I met a voice actor called Mark Silc, and I will hopefully be featured on a podcast as well, we saw someone who  recognized me because I was commenting on the podcast's Facebook page, and he let me get interviewed! It is called TGP Nominal.At the end, we saw Elsa. I was saying that I'd seen the other princess characters, but was wondering if Moana was around. She said that the person helping out as Moana had left. But then she surprised me because she said that the Moana costume was still here and asked us to wait in one of the quieter areas. Around 10 minutes later she appeared as Moana, and she did this so that I could feel the new costume, which is why we had to go to a quieter area so she wouldn't get swamped.I was told that she normally wouldn't do this for other people, so this was a lovely surprise to end the event on, becaus
 e it really did turn out that the person helping out as Moana had gone, and the person showing me the costume is normally Elsa and does not swap out.Finally, on the way out, we met a Deadpool costumer. This was awesome because the guns had triggers that you could push in and out, and the swords also popped in and out as well. There were loads of different things to feel on the costume.All in all, another amazing Feel The Force event, something I count down to every year.

@ironcross and sightless, the wavs aren't actually the problem, they remain fine but the problem lies in if I want to actually be able to use them for what I want, in this case being ringtones, which I currently need to convert to M4A because apple is stupid. I can trim and loop the wavs themselves perfectly fine though... so after my planned switch to an android I'll hopefully just be able to use that.@raygrote [[wow]] thanks for typing that, lol lots of info there. I'm mainly just making loops for minor things, songs for ringtones, occasional partial track for other things, etc. But it seems like it might just be easier to save the perfect loops for after I switch phones, lol because I'm assuming with an android hopefully in my future, I won't be limited to a single file type for my stuff. It's not really anything to make too big of a deal over, I'm just a perfectionist when it comes to this kind of thing, luckily I don't do it often
 ...

It's insufferable, unfortunately, the command lag as well as the bad parsing and matching make Clok a lost cause as said above. It's really rather unfortunate because the content is very well done, and detailed. It's bad that if I were to go back on a dial up connection like I had when I was 12, any normal MUD wouldn't even lag that badly.

Clok is a slow but sure mud. If you can bear a little bit of command roundtime then clok can be your mud. I don't get it why people always want something of alter aeon speed when you can take it slower than that, just saying.It used to be even worse two years ago. Right now it's still slow, but that's really nothing.

I call this sensitivity, an emotion aka bullshit that's been spreading in our world, widely. this is probably the third time I hear someone saying the same stuff, "o that person left me there is no point to my life." I gotta say, if you can't do it, at least try to quit being sensitive, get over it and move on. That's how life works now adays. You can't just waste your time crying about something that's probably not gonna change at all. "oh, you don't have a partner so you don't know how bad it is to don't get someone to love you, oh I can't stand seeing that girl dating an other boy." now that i call jealousy, and it doesn't need me or anyone to have a partner to feel how bad it is, but i know people who have faced the same stuff and all they did is get the fuck over it. Also, I am not the only one who thinks this, there are people who would agree with this post, because it'
 s logical that there is no point to torcher yourself because some girl doesn't like you or anything like that, there are tons of better things to do in this life, habbits, reading books, chilling with people, and so on, and not to mention that there might come a day when everything changes, maybe a brighter future opens up, who knows. i mean hi, post 8"s story had a happy ending. So rather than wasting our time on some dumb ass emotion i call it that, why not continue with our life, and see how it goes? I mean what's past has past, you can't change it can you? Live the present, ignnore the past, you came and asked for advise on this forum, that's the best one I'd give, and it's the one that I gave many people before. Some of them worked with it, others weren't probably trying at all, but hope this helps.

Hi SkyLord.I haven't played clok in a while but from what I remember it was always like that. If you want to do things quickly it makes you wait a minute or two which is annoying. Decoders can be instructed, with the help of the encoder, to eliminate gaps introduced by the algorithm, which for lossless formats like flac is mandatory. Ogg also is gapless. I wouldn't completely depend on it though, since Ogg is a lossy format, meaning it removes portions of the audio signal it deems inaudible. This tends to modify the audio just enough to make a carefully crafted seamless loop start clicking again, especially if the sound contains very distinct effects sensitive to the slightest of
  disturbances. Sound effects for a game, or samples for a digital musical instrument, are the most vulnerable to this. If it's a song or a full mix, however, using Ogg should be fine most of the time. Opus, a recent audio format which I think soon will replace Ogg, is similar. Some decoders and implementations aren't gapless, at least I used to use one that wasn't. But I think most are now. I still would be careful with it though, for the same reasons as Ogg.With other formats it gets tricky. WMA Professional is gapless, but WMA standard isn't. And when you get to Mp3 and M4a, it gets worse. Neither format is gapless by design, nor are there any standards to make them gapless. So any implementations of those formats that do offer gapless playback are doing so via their own means. They're not really breaking the standard, as the extra information they use for their gapless playback will just be skipped by other decoders that don't support it, but 
 it does make things look bleak. The Lame MP3 encoder does have gapless support so far as I'm aware, but I don't think Gold Wave supports it. It may be possible to make it do, but I've not looked into it since I don't use mp3 very often these days, nor do I use lossy formats for looping so much.M4A is also tricky, as you've seen firsthand. ITunes can create gapless files which work fine on Apple decoders, but Gold Wave uses different decoders that can't interpret that. Furthermore, the Media Foundation encoder that Gold Wave uses isn't great, and very likely never will be gapless. Using gold Wave to create gapless m4a or mp3 files is probably futile.The good news is that there are ways to make external encoders and decoders easy to use. They unfortunately won't work within Gold Wave, but they will be easier to use than, say, going into ITunes and converting files in there. I'll admit I'm really not sure how well that wou
 ld work, I'm only proposing an idea that I'll elaborate on in a future post if you are interested. I'd firstly though need to know what filetypes you wanted to make and where you wanted to use them, before I get too far into it.

I'll use someone elses code as long as they give me the OK in one form or another..@All the rest of you who are claiming Ivan stole code:I have found, throughout this topic, that claims have been made, but no evidence has been provided. Question: how many of you are actual developers? How many of you have sat down at a computer and wrote a game in a programming language like C++ or PureBASIC or a scripting language like BGT? How many of you have taken the time to carefully think up a story line, create sound effects, download all the needed libraries, and then wrote the code to bring it all together? If any of you privately or publicly answer any of these questions in a negative manner, then you have no right to claim that someone stole code from someone else. If your not a developer, you have no right to claim that
  someone stole code from someone else. Discovering if code was "stolen" like you would discover if a television set was stolen from your home is impossible. You just cannot do it. As Approne said, a program can look like a clone of another but, internally, it can have totally different mechanics. If Aprone writes a game, and I write another that behaves just like Aprones' game, but I write all the code myself and use different algorithms and use a different programming language, does that mean I stole Aprones code? On the other hand, if Aprone writes this same game, and I rewrite it in a different programming language but use internals that behave nearly identically to Aprones code in, say, VB6, does that mean I stole his code? If the answer to either of these questions is yes, I now would like to put forth the question of 'how'. How would you know I stole it? How would you gather enough evidence to convince Aprone that I stole even a line of code from Apron
 e? And, finally, how would you do it without obtaining the source code to both of our games? The answer is simple and clear-cut: it's not possible. Hi Merlin,Glad you are enjoying the game. You can purchase ships at a Shipwright (Helm -> FTL -> Structures -> Transport). When you navigate to a sector outside of your jump range you will be presented with a option for 'nearest destinations', following this nearest destinations will get you closer to your intended target. It's also worth noting that destinations are always prefixed with either a negative symbol or positive symbol (something requested in this very forum), this lets you know if its towards the left or right since the universe is one dimensional. I hope this helps.

This is indeed going to take time, but worth it. Ross was an awesome panelist who answered many questions asked by the studio. He also got a chance to play Mortal Kombat with some of the team, in front of an audience. He also got to try out the new Madden rumble features, which will hopefully come out next week. Hello all, so. When i first saw clock MUD, i thort. Oh, what a boardom. but when i played it, i understood, it's my mud. That's what that i need. But, i have huge huge horribly huge tromendous lag! 2000 3000 ms, that's serious. I'm from russia, so is there maybe an alternative port? or something? cause it lags as hell, or that's normal? maybe i don't have to change anything, but i think not, cause it unlags for 2 seconds, then lags again. It's really unconvinient to play like that. Who knows, what happens, help please!

@GrryfindoreWhile you might see nothing wrong with refusing a request that you previously stated you'd honor, I consider such behavior as rude and makes your word worthless because nobody can trust that once given, you'll keep your word.That is why I went ahead and honored Guitarman's long list of requests. Then posted that message saying that if you post a long list of requests, I will no longer honor it. At least I will keep my word, once given. If I see that things need to change, I'll change my word first. That way, my word has meaning and can be trusted.

Hi,So I tried to download the folder twice and for some unknown reason it isn't allowing me to do so. I tried just after I posted on here last night but I thought that perhaps the folder was still uploading so I tried again this morning with no luck. I'm using firefox with NVDA and when I go into the dropbox link a blank page appears without any way to download it. Does anyone know what could be going wrong? Knowing me it's probably something relatively simple that I've overlooked

I've noticed those too, as well as especially in sheets, the button to create a new sheet doesn't always appear.  sometimes I've had to close and reopen it about five times to actually start what I was trying to do.there is a list of keyboard shortcuts if you google google docs/sheets/slides screenreader, however apart from the collaboration, I prefer the Microsoft equivalents by far.

Draco as a developer I completely agree with how you're feeling, but to a moderator team this is a much more complicated issue.  As a developer myself, the entire issue of code stealing is very important to me and it is something I of course have very strong opinions about.  As much as I do have my own opinions on it, when I then look at the situation through the eyes of a moderator I am forced to do things differently.* Please note that I am speaking as a developer here, and none of what I'm saying is somehow "official moderator talk" or meant to represent the moderator team's views.As a developer I say that anyone who steals code should be forever kicked the heck out of the community.  I have zero tolerance for that sort of thing, and in fact don't even really like how often people accept code hand-outs.  When someone sits down to make a game and decides to grab sound code written by this guy, map code written by th

I was just about to create a similar topic. Something seems to be wrong with the whole registration and pasword recovery process.I was trying to log in to my account. I thought, I still knew the password, but it didn't work. Then I tried to reset my password. When I fill out the form and click on "Reset password", nothing happens. I even tried to create a new account. But I always get the message "Fatal error: E-Mail registration not found". Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

@128In all honesty, I think you're taking accessibility to all a little too literally.  By this, I do not mean that you shouldn't try and make it run on every computer, but I'd sugges you face up to the realities of technological advancement - if people have older machines, they'll have to upgrade sooner or later.It's like Killer Instinct.  I tried to run it with my integrated graphics chip.  Needless to say, it ran at an unplayable level, so much so that it crashed due to the integrated chip.I understood that I would have to upgrade my graphics card to accommodate the game.  When I did get one as a gift, the game ran absolutely fine with no crashing issues to do with the previously mentioned hardware.If the game is playable to both gamers without sight and those gamers with sight who want to play it, that's all you can do.  Hardware isn't really your problem, I'd say.  There are games
  that I can't play because I don't have the hardware (those only available on Mac, for example).  I am only aware that the developers don't have to make those accessible to other platforms, in this case, and that if I get a mac, I can play the games then.The same is true for hardware - if I had an older computer that wouldn't run it, though I'd be annoyed about not being able to play the game, I'd be fine with waiting until my computer is capable of running it.I hope I'm making sense.  Basically, don't beat yourself up over it too much - your project is still very interesting and shouldn't be bogged down via overaccommodation.Regardless, though, keep up the good work and hope everything goes well.

Welcome to yet another of our famous monthly chat topics. Well famous ish anyway. For anyone who hasn't seen these before (they're not that famous), this is your place to chat about pretty much anything going on in your life each month. Games, books, films, school, work, relationships,  all of those happy fun and  cuddly things,  or indeed sad, depressing and    spiky  things as the case may be for you. For me, while the relationship side of things is still most definitely cudly, other aspects are less so. As I said at the end of last month's thread, unfortunately my  laptop is playing silly buggers turning off the wireless  capability for no reason, so I'm having to borrow my lady's to check the forum. This means not much by way of games or indeed email at the moment though since we are hopefully going to get a carpet  next Saturday which is the first step in deboxifying the living room 
 of our new house, setting up my desktop should follow relatively quickly I hope.If not , hopefully we can take my laptop back to the firm I got it from and get the model number and function key commands to turn wireless back on. Actually I hope the problem is that simple, but we'll see, certainly the network is working. In other news, last night I went to the first band concert here in  this new town, disconcertingly for those in the states called Newark, though the one in Nottinghamshire, not the one  close to new Jerzy (I have been to that one, or at least to it's airport and they're very different).Newark  over here is a rather quiet little market town, but one conveniently on the trainline in the center of the country where it's possible to get most places, which makes it A, conveniently small to walk about and B, easy to visit other parts of the  country from. Exhibit A I demonstrated last night by headin
 g to the theatre for the first time for a band concert. This was a concert by a wind band, which is similar to a brass band. for those only familiar with the American style marching bands, British bands are rather different. Back in the  industrial  revolution going right through up to the eighties and  nineties, every small mining village and  factory town in North England had a band who played a lot of popular classic stuff. The mines and colearies are gone, but the bands are still around.  They don't march but give concerts in halls, churches etc, accept anyone with an instrument (they used to be pretty much men only but that's long since changed), and are usually rather fun performances.For a good look at a band and some of the north English culture, see the film Brassed off.Last  night the band, being a wind band was basically like an  orchestra  without a string section and played a lot of  fun s
 tuff from War of the worlds (the Jeff Wayne version), to Pirates of the carribian, Swan lake and even a beatles medly and bohemian  rhapsody by queen as well as a few more standard things like Colonel  bogey. It's nice to have a theatre within walking distance and the staff are rather friendly, though I missed my lady since she was still feeling unwell so couldn't come with me which was a  pest since she would've rather enjoyed it I think. Oh bwell, since I saw my first Christmas advert last week (they're getting earlier every year), that means the  buying season is approaching, which generally means more concerts etc, so I'm sure we'll be back, hopefully at some point as  performers if we're lucky. Well that's probably enough for a col and grim morning, or at least it is here, so hope everyone else is having fun. Hopefully when my desktop is up and running I can get back to the db, trying ne
 w games and doing generallywhat I usually do on a more regular basis, though as with a lot in my life currently moving house is proving  getting in the way of most everything.

There is nothing really like Wayfare around, in terms of  a game all about the colonisation and crafting, and while I do enjoy Cosmic rage it's not a substitute. It's really sad the game went down, especially since we'd just got some access fixes to the map to make finding resources easier.I'd love to see it make a return but I don't know if it will.
