The first word of every sentence is half eaten. It always starts with a fade in. Have you tried Melatonin? I grant that it's terrible for a shortened cycle, but if you have a lengthened cycle, or are in the college-student-sleeping-til-noon phase, it might be helpful. It's tricky to get the timing and dosage right, though.Staying up is slightly more manageable with something like Modafinil. Unfortunately, in the US (I don't remember about Canada but want to think it's similar?), it's a controlled substance prescribed for Narcalepsy[sic] and people who need to control their wakefulness for their job. Also it's expensive, legally. However, Adrafinil is metabolized into Modafinil, is not controlled, and you can get it online for cheap. The only downside is "heightened liver inzymes," whatever that means, and that is mitigated by avoiding using it on a daily basis. Sleep deprivation will still catch up to you on -afinils, so absolutely do not use them (or any more common stimulants like caffeine) as a replacement for sleep.But yeah, I found that the best way to fight non24 is to fill up your day so that you can't afford to sleep any time other than night. It still doesn't work perfectly, but it seems to help. A combination of all of these might be best, but I haven't had the opportunity to try them all at the same time.

I don't know if I have non-24 or whatever, I'm just sleepy all of the time I'm not completely blind though ...Is it possible for you to schedule your life around your sleep rather than your sleep around your schedule? I know I couldn't tell my body to sleep no matter how much I wanted to. It comes and goes. Sometimes I'll go to bed around 8 PM and wake up at like 1 in the morning, other times reverse that. There was a period of insanity before this semester where I would go to bed around 8 or 9 in the morning and wake up at like 4 or 5 in the afternoon.For example, if you have a job could you ask for the nightshift instead perhaps? Is your schedule completely random or is there some order to it like mine is?For example, I know I'll probably sit up to like midnight today but nothing extreme. If you can figure out when you're going to sleep ahead of time you can plan accordingly.If you're going to sleep at 5 in the afternoon and you have some homework to do (granted I don't know if you attend some educational facility or have a job) - you could say ok I'll go to bed and set an alarm for 3 in the morning and go up and do what I need to do.That's the only advice I have. Well actually - if you need to sleep at a certain point it's better to rest rather than say screw it I'll just go up and do shit to preserve energy. It's frustrating, sure, but if you tell your body to rest at a particular time maybe you'll gain some semblence of normalcy?Other than that, have you tried to smoke some weed to relax before you hit the hay? Like I said you may not fall asleep but at least you're preserving energy.Honestly on second thought I don't think weed is good for preserving energy since it gets your metabolism going. It's still pretty nice though undeniably Hope this helped.

I know there are a lot of totally blind people who have sleep problems, specifically Non 24 sleep disorder.I'm starting this topic in hopes that we might be able to share any suggestions for things that have helped us sleep better, longer, or at normal times.For myself, I feel like I have tried everything under the sun at this point, from exercise, to relaxation and white noise apps, to lamps, to Hetlioz which is the only medication specifically for this issue.Many things have worked temporarily, and the Hetlioz worked well for quite a while.But even that has stopped helping me.Right now, EmergenC ZZZ is the only thing that seems to work.So, use this thread to ask questions, give advice, rage against insomnia, whatever you wish.

I completely agree with you, Annellin.I would love to see a Mud based on just living a life, farming, trading, crafting, making friends, learning, and exploring. I'm sure it wouldn't appeal to a lot of players, but I think the player base that did want such a Mud would be very loyal.I wish I knew how to code, and I'd make one, just for me and a few friends if nothing else.

It might mean that you should pay attention to aging on there.I think You age one year for every five hours of gameplay, and your character starts to show the effects of aging when it's between 65 and 80 years old.So in other words, if you are going to idle on there or chat or read help files, type the command "configure ooc on" so you won't age.There may also be a spell to restore your youth, but I haven't gone that far yet.

I believe the new FEMALE WAS MADE BY Apple itself, and was likely not licensed from another company as it was before, which may mean it doesn't use the Vocalizer driver. Extracting the voices from a Mac would probably not be possible either, since Mac OS uses a completely different file structure for its voices than Windows. As far as I know, they're all contained in a single file CALLED PCMWave, with another file called voice description that provides the sample text and other properties. However we will have to see how it works when iOS 11 is jailbroken, if that ever happens. LOL.

will your game support screen readers?in the nvda screen reader there is a function of copying to the clipboard the last read text which can then be translated by the online translation program.I do not know how to copy the text that is read by the Speech API.

The current XBox is the XBox 1X. The main benefit this provides is 4K video definition. If you don't need/want that the 1S (the previous model) may be better and is also cheaper. The 1X has slightly better loading times but the 1S is still completely viable.Narrator reads all of the native programs (store, news feed, settings, etc). To read game menus you would need to use OCR and for that you do need to stream to your computer over your network, however it is easy to do.

the more I think about it, I think ducks have a lot to answer for but I'm still not convinced they are the real threat. maybe it's just what they want us to believe but your average duck is as daft as a brush and if you don't know how daft a brush is you only have to think about the fact they spend most of their lives upside down cleaning up dirt with their heads. come to think of it, ducks do that too. paddling about in the water, throw them some bread, they're head down trying to eat something that has totally no nutricional value for them.you'll never see a chicken with it's head under water. they're too busy pecking and scheming. any duck uprising would be countered easily by a few lab retrievers. plus the duck to chicken ratio is pretty small. when the chickens revolt they will be like locusts. you won't be able to move for the twisted horrible squarking sods.

@LordLundin: To be fair, cleric has gotten a lot of really neat updates recently that's made it a lot more attractive (in my opinion anyway) as a first class. I used to not like it a Whole lot, but found myself actually enjoying it quite a bit when trying it out a couple of months back. I'll admit though that I never got past level 22, but that's on me for getting distracted with other Things I guess.

Creature loose In The Dark Lab

Hi everyone, who takes a minute to look at my project. I have set this game up to work with a xbox one controller. I do not believe keyboard input is completely setup at the moment. So, overall this game has about a 60 second narrative introduction that sets up the story and what you will need to do. The game works with both analog sticks and the goal is to navigate this space to the exit, while avoiding a monster that is after you.  It’s pretty straight forward just walk around like you would with most games that use 2 analogs no jumping no attacking. Just moving around and trying to find your way to the exit that has an alarm attached to it. Alarm is there so you never lose your way. I did my best to make the least annoying alarm for the game as possible in the back ground. Its currently only one level and shouldn’t take very long to play. I just finished the game with a party that I thought could own the final boss. Well, apparently that wasn't the case. I had a human Munk/assassin, an Elf Healer/Necromancer, a Dwarf Adventurer/fighter, and the pet. I also had a Skeleton half giant, witch was the beast of the team because of "Garganchan attacking stats." Need some help with Google Chrome

Since the new Firefox has several, quite annoying issues for NVDA users, )especially due the one with combined-lists). I have decided, (based on recommendation of some community-members here), to change my primary browser to Google Chrome, at least until those issues in Firefox will, (if they ever will), be totally corrected.It seems indeed faster, and quite screen-reader friendly, with no problems similar to those in the new Firefox, but I still have a few minor, but often annoying issues with it.I don't seem to be able to properly search for sites with its Google search-engine, nor to login to my bookmarked, favorite, most used pages, since always some kind of "automatic search-helper" activates, (after I type the very 1st symbol of my search-target), and confuses me totally, often making me totally "lost".The 2nd issue, which, due certain reasons, which I don't intend to explain here in details, is even more annoying for me:Namely, in certain cases, text-correction bugs me like hell, and I wish to just turn it off, deactivate it in general, whatever.I did find a setting for automatic text-correction, but I only managed to add more languages to it, I added english US, (my mother-tongue is hungarian, so it is the initial language in my browsers), that improved things a bit, but as I said, my goal is to totally turn text-correction off.So can you please tell me, how can I deactivate it in Chrome?(I know how to do it in Firefox, but the same way doesn't seem to work in Chrome, I wonder if it can be deactivated at all?)Maybe if I just remove ALL languages from the text.correction list...but as I remember, initially there were none there, and the correction was still working, bugging me like hell in certain cases...

Honestly my advice would be to reset and go for a combo that isn't quite so mana-oriented. You can well get away with a good druid cleric warrior / druid warrior cleric, mage thief or thief mage and necro last place. Let's pretend I still play, so I don't have to rewrite everything to make it into I did play Whenever I'd create a character I'd go for cleric somewhere in the middle of the combo. Cleric is a great support and you're screwed without sanc and other miner beneficial spells.If you reset put more pracs into stats, max con together with int and wis first, well, con should be maxed IMHO even before int and wis. It's a fine balance. I learned only the bare minimum I needed to in the beginning then if my stats were decent for the level I was at I'd put a few into skills / spells that could give me support or xp. Like brew potion for example. Then I just ran around and killed all the different alchemist shopkeepers and spammed brewing aliases lol.At this stage though I'm more remembering rather than giving advice. Edit:This is an advice I shouldn't give due to Alters current state and where it's headed, but if you're set on playing Alter a little more seriously, get a weightless or even two. They are bought with credits. Something you won't regret. Just make sure to clean them out every once in a while else you'll be like me and end up with like 2000 items. Yes, over 2000 unique items, not counting soulstones and potions and things like that. ROFL

I agree completely. Having a regen set is always nice. Although I'll admit I never use mine on my necro these days since it just dents his minions too much, and only gives him about 15 extra mregen per tick anyway. Druids, mages, clerics and thieves can certainly benefit from having one though in my opinion. Heck, most clerics seem to just run in theirs anyway, only pulling out cast level sets for some special occasions.

As regardes your game ideas and mechanics, First, Sean has the important question what operating system is this for? if it uses Windows touch screen I'm not sure how many people have a touch screen control device (I don't I'm afraid), so how testable it might be I'm not certain, also I wonder how you will cope with things such as starting the game, seeing score etc. As regards the game idea itself, I'm afraid I don't quite understand how this one works. Is the touch screen the playing area and the player needs to move their finger around the  entire screen to find some items whilst avoiding others? Or is the playing area of a different size with the touch screen defigning movement? or does the player simply need to scan the screen for objects they need, and then put those objects together in some sort of sequence? eg, first finding the key, then the lock, then the door handle to open the door?The problem with audio scanning and touch screen games generally, is that they tend to wind up being relatively easy since the player can simply move their finger around logically to find the basic objects, so usually most of the more successful ones have some sort of added puzzle ontop of the basic touch screen mechanics. For example, one of imho the most successful, blindfold barnyard on ios had the player move their finger around the screen to locate animals, then drag to either the top, bottom, left or right to hitch them to a fense, however the  can only hitch animals of one type to each fence, since if you hitch one of the wrong type you lose all your points, thus making it a game of memory and matching as well  audio scanning. Hth. I'm afraid it's not certain without playing your game or at least hearin a demo, indeed I might be %100 unsure of what exactly your game is.

ah, it's all part  of the duck's sinister plan, you see, people think chickens are more dangerous since the rubber chicken was so repeatedly an offensive weapon, while the rubber duck is just supposed to be a harmless bath time toy, that  everyone is concentrating on the wrong avian, which is why when the duckpocalypse comes, there won't be even time to shout duck! before it's too late.

Is the touch screen the playing area and the player needs to move their finger around the  entire screen to find some items whilst avoiding others? Or is the playing area of a different size with the touch screen defigning movement? or does the player simply need to scan the screen for objects they need, and then put those objects together in some sort of sequence? eg, first finding the key, then the lock, then the door handle to open the door?The problem with audio scanning and touch screen games generally, is that they tend to wind up being relatively easy since the player can simply move their finger around logically to find the basic objects, so usually most of the more successful ones have some sort of added puzzle ontop of the basic touch screen mechanics. For example, one of imho the most successful, blindfold barnyard on ios had the player move their finger around the screen to locate animals, then drag to either the top, bottom, left or right to hitch them to a fense, however the  can only hitch animals of one type to each fence, since if you hitch one of the wrong type you lose all your points, thus making it a game of memory and matching as well  audio scanning. Hth. I'm afraid it's not certain without playing your game or at least hearin a demo, indeed I might be %100 unsure of what exactly your game is.

Hmmm, I'm not %100 sure what these games are, unless they're those time based resource management affairs such as space company and junction gate which play rather like crafting kingdom, other than being online  and have pages in the db. I've not had much luck with rebuild the universe so far though, even on Chrome since finding out  elements are what is a bit of a pain, and for the others, well it depends upon labels I suppose.

There are many nice low level items for regen. Just explore and identify. If you come across promising eq, save it. @Dentin me wonders what you did to break a perfectly working group system.

I've been actually using web audio daw:https://github.com/rserota/wadIt is the whole web audio API in a very easy to use package. I don't remember sono, but howler only plays external sounds, you can't generate sounds. WAD allows you to generate very complex sounds and play external sounds at the same time. The hard part is building sounds to generate... You can also kind of ignore the Firefox not working, I only use it in Firefox and it works great.I have not yet used the 3D panning yet, just the left and right panning. I don't see where to set the listener though.

One thing a guide dog mobility instructor once told me was that independence did not mean not asking for help, it meant knowing who, when, how and in what way to ask for help. to take a  case in point, if I order something from a cafe on my own, I will always! ask  to help carry hot items to my seat because I do not want to risk dousing my dog in scolding hot coffee.On the other hand, when the Rnib's answer to the problem of using a cash machine was "get your carer to do it" I  pretty appalled.Unfortunately, the latter type of attitude, in which basically a blind person is always assumed to be with a sighted person getting constant assistance and  it isn't necessary to learn much is one I've seen advocated by special schools over here.

I would second LordLundin's suggestion of having gone with DWC. Both mage and druid can deal damage with pretty much the same types, so I personally find it unnecessary to have mage as second. Personal preference though. I know a couple of druid warriors WHO will start by calling a tank in their druid set, then switch to one for hitting and kill Things that way. I can't say how effective it is, since I, whilst having a DWN character, haven't delved much into hitting on him yet.As for mana regen, both int and wis give you about 0.5 each, if I remember correctly, so your base mregen will also go up when raising those stats. There's a good amount of druid cast equipment around these days that can both cover cast level and mana regen.Depending on your level, there's a nice robe at level 11 in the holy grove northwest of the gnome village:level 11  ( ) (very common)   ON_BODY, ARTIFACT DRUID  bound, ac 2, FABRIC  , ,  druidcast 1,  INT 1,  WIS 1,  manaregen 0.5,  MANA 5Same area also has an amulet that you can run twice and a circlet, both with cast level, although only the circlet has mana regen on top of that.If everything else fails, there's also shopkeepers in the cities WHO sell a few items fit for the different classes, some of which has cast level too. Not the best equipment you'll find, but it's a start.Good luck. Druid is a fun class to play with lots of nice spells and minions to use. Not to mention you have the ability to carve/sew runes on your gear to add or enhance stats.

I would suggest thief or warrior for your fourth class. They both have important utility and defensive skills that will aid your survival. I am not a fan of having necromancer as a third or fourth class, but that's just an opinion.For actually fighting though, you will want to primarily make use of your druid spells and skills. Make sure you know call animal, if you don't already, and locate and wear as much equipment with the druid cast level effect as you can. The equipment will boost the power of the druid spells you cast as well as the animals you call, who can both protect you and attack for you.Your secondary classes are mostly utility at low levels. Focus on spells like shield and fly from mage, maybe shocking grasp and burning hands for supplemental damage. But don't, say, try to straight up attack with chill touch over fist of the earth if your druid level is higher. Similarly, make sure you learn the defensive cleric spells such as armor and faith shield, but steer clear of the inflict damage spells for now.

Hi all. I don't mean to ask for cracked software in any way. But, I really do need some help in being able to unlock the regions with my DVD player in my Windows 10 laptop. I purchased a DVD of a movie that I haven't seen in about 21 years, and I'd really really love to be able to see it again. But, the back of the DVD case says it has a region code of 2. I just copied the .dll from the dark house game and it worked, they must all be using the same version of unity (lucky) LOL.I like the cartoonish sounds for this game, helps set the scene.But without panning, it's unfortunately pretty much impossible to tell which zone the bug is in, pitch could work, but since the keys you need to press go left to right, panning makes more sense.So you would want to have zone one in the left channel only, zone 2 half way between center and left, zone 3 in the center channel, zone 4 half way between center and right and zone 5 in the right channel only, and that's where the bug sound would play.Also, right now the keys aren't very well placed IMO.I think f, g, space, h, j would be best, from 1 to 5, or you could use a different method, which I will explain.The other method would be to let the player move their aim with the left and right arrows or by sliding the mouse, moving by 1 zone at a time with zone 1 on the far left, zone 3 in the middle and zone 5 on the far right, and attack with a separate key, such as space, left/right control, or left/right click.If you do that, you'll need to make sure you have a sound for moving (like a little click or beep) which doesn't necessarily need to pan (that way when you don't hear that sound after pressing the arrow key, you know you've reached an edge and can only go back the other way now.As an example, if I start in the middle (zone 3) 1 press of the left arrow would put me on zone 2, another press of the left arrow would put me on zone 1, and then if I pressed right arrow from zone one, now I'd be on zone 2 again.If I instead pressed right arrow from the middle (zone 3) I'd be on zone 4, and another press would take me to zone 5, then if I pressed left arrow on zone 5, I'd go back to zone 4, etc.Both systems work just fine, and have been used in several previous audio games to good effect, so feel free to go with which ever one is easier for you.If you wish to get some more sounds than http://www.freesound.org is the place to go, they have a massive selection (including plenty of cartoon sounds that would be perfect for this game) as well as easy to understand licensing.Oh and they won't spam you either. This is a neat concept, but yeah I'm afraid I can't really tell what's going on either.I'm pretty sure you can only move on the y and Z axis, though the odd thing about the z axis is that your supposed to jump when you hit space, but it's more like taking a single step straight up than jumping, at least based on the sound...The buzzing things are files from what I can tell, because I did actually get one once, I got close enough to it to start hearing paper rustling sounds, then I pressed E and it went away, plus I think I heard good job but I may have forgotten lol.Their is a laptop hard drive type sound (kind of a crackling) very quiet, and when I get too close to that I get caught, but since I'm  pretty sure I can't turn, they are nearly impossible to avoid.Those could also just be the paper rustling sounds from farther away, and not hard drives, it's difficult to tell.Sometimes I get a chair scuff sound, and if I keep moving afterwards I almost always get caught, which makes sense, but I also easily get caught without that sound as well so...Then their are all the grunts and sighs, but they don't seem to follow a pattern, and it's kind of confusing because they can come from left and right, but I can only move forwards, backwards, and up from what I can tell.I've tried timing them so that I don't move when I hear them near me, then start moving again afterwards, and I do seem to have more success that way, but like I said before, as soon as I get close to that crackling sound I'm screwed either way.A learn game sounds dialog/sub menu, accessed from the main menu would be very useful hear, as you already have a solid menu system going on.The way those generally work is that you pull up the menu, then each sound is named, via TTS or voice over, acting as a very brief description of the sound, and then you play the sound by pressing a key, and it loops until you move to the next item down.For instance, I open the game, and you have your normal start and quit options, but you also have a learn game sounds option.I hit enter on that and I hear a dialog that explains how to use the menu, something like (use up and down arrows to select a sound, space to play it, and escape to go back).So I find my self on the first sound, with the item being called simply (distant file) then press space to listen to the buzzing sound, until I'm satisfied with my ability to recognize it.Now I press down arrow for the next item called simply (close file) and get that rustling paper sound.And so on and so forth, for walking sounds, being detected by an enemy, etc.For a dialog, (best used when you don't have many sounds to memorize) like maybe 6 or less, you would have an option in the main menu as well, but instead of a sub menu you would just explain each sounds purpose, play it for a little bit, then move on to the next, in a static format, then go back to the main menu when done.Otherwise, in terms of controls and gameplay instructions, they are pretty solidly delivered the way they are now, in a small dialog at the start of the game, though you may want to talk a bit slower/clearer when stating each key, so they are better separated and therefore easier to understand.While the walking sounds are low quality, the grunts, sighs, chair scuff and paper rustling sounds are already fine, but either way, you could have some office ambience and a sound for picking up a file, some menu/background music, selection and boarder sounds for the menu if you want ETC, which could spice things up with not too much effort.http://www.Freesound.org is a great place for that, with a massive selection and easy to understand licensing, (they wont' spam you either). Hi.I don't like the aircraft. I find it very difficult to avoid the bombs.When you get hit by bombs and the health goes down, your speed goes down, even when you have put points into it. This makes it difficult to avoid the bombs when you can't move fast.I think the aircraft makes the game less fun. Just my opinion...I love all the other new things in the update.

Thanks Mirage, I have this topic bookmarked since I find it an interesting one. there are still muds I need to add to the db and try out, noteaabley coffee mud and lensmore, also i  also suggest Reconsiddering Alteraeon with the way things are going currently. As to making this into a full article and adding it to the articles room, that would be really awesome if possible, you've done a pretty good job with the first post already, plus I could then add links to it on appropriate db pages such as Clok, 7th plane, 4dimentions etc.

If you're able to survive shit I'd go druid mage warrior or what you need is druid warrior cleric probably. Build a good regen set and a druid cast set. Research and ask other players before learning skills and spells and put your pracs into stats. I have an article in the articles room about building a warrior mage but I outline a lot of the important spells and skills there that are essencial regardless of your class option. Honestly I wouldn't bother with learning the tincture brewing things, you can buy tinctures from high level druids in bulk and they aren't necessary for quick xp. I always go for the basic potion brewing stuff from the mage tree though, but not for brewing good potions, but only for the few million xp it can rapidly give me. Or it used to anyway.It's funny that despite Dentins comments about wanting to provide other options than just killing for xp he doesn't really make it worth your time. It is true that some things were insanely overpowered, but there is ... you know ... a middle ground? Where running in huge ass groups isn't the only option? Is there even anymore?
