Re: my dream, your nightmare

I don't mind the cargo drones myself, but yee gods to do activities there are so many upgrades, and if you miss one of them your stuck, actually it gives the ships in the game very little personality at all since baiscally your ship is just a container for your upgrades and the only things that make ships individual are combat gear (which isn't really needed for most activity ships anyway since combat has become such a specialist area in and of it's own right). Speaking of combat, I am really! looking forward to that combat overhaul, I'd love to see combat more intigrated into the game, and the need to cope with being jumped on more oftne, but actually some ability to survive said encounters, ie, making combat more than a manner of fly in one direction typing as fast as possible and hoping your armour and cloaks stand up to things.

Re: Classic 6Dragons updates

Beastmaster  is another class, I might even try  it at some point. I can't help with shadowknight as I'm an angel myself, but for equipment you need a feather of knowing, though the compare command works fairly well as  classic six dragons isn't really a gear heavy game the way alteraeon is. The only main issue I have at the second is quests, since basically you just have to wander around and hope things trigger, which means often I encounter npcs who just won't talk to me for some reason. For example the area map says to go to gnome tower, but though I've completed one quest there, the only npc won't speak to me. I also would love to see more trade skills usable in the game, especially cooking, carpentry and herbalism, as well as some more info about the cities and how they work since I keep hearing about sieges but am not really sure what to do to either lay siege to somewhere or prevent a siege when it happens. I think you can collect taxes for your city but I'm not really sure on that one.

Re: Christianity or Islam

pauliyobo as has been said by many people in this topic the Islamic state are only one group of muslims and do not represent Islam anymore than the Nazis or the Spanish inquisition represented Christianity, so might I suggest we stop throwing accusations around. other than that as far as braille0109 and Ethin's arguements go, again this is a fundamental category mistake between those with a religious belief and those without one, since religious experience is not analogous to any other sort of experience. it's like trying to pin down the love I have for my wife, something which is real and extant to me and defies rational explanation, I cannot say "why!" I love my wife, I just do, it is there, immutable, end of story. The same is true of religious experience and the act of meditation or prayer or whatever other practice one chooses.A good friend of mine who is an atheist (though not a militant one), put it rather well, he said that whenever I tried to discuss religious experiences with him it was like a computer program trying to read the wrong sort of file, he just didn't have the equipment to understand the nature of that experience, which is of course fair enoughh.

Just curious, why not take the parts from each that resonate with you? Why does it have to be one or the other, and to be honest, most religions are too institutionalized and rigid. They don't allow for the individual's path and relationship towards whatever higher power is being sought.Like everyone else said, it's a personal choice, and nobody should force or guilt you into one or the other since that would infringe upon the free-will God, the Goddess, or the flying spaghetti monster supposedly gave us all.

Hello folks! First, welcome aboard Secondly, rpg, [[wow]]! Downloading now. Expect some feedback soon.Hello again I've played the game for a few minuts now and before I make any considerations, I'd like to know more about what kind of game you intend to have when the project is complete. For example, will it be imersive or you intend to focus more on game mechanics like in Diablo 1? Have you considered a way to use screen reader or even sapi on the game? We don't have much action rpgs like the one you're creating, so please, keep up with the plans. I'm asking all the questions because it will be easier for me to give you a precise feedback. With that in mind, if you can use any translator, google should do, I'd recomend you take a look at Shadow Line, or Shadow Rine, as it is pronounced. It is a japanese action rpg, it may give you some ideas. Here's a link? http://www.mm-galabo.com/sr/sr_download.htmSometimes it is difficult to follow the audio notations regarding numbers and compass. The game responce is fine, also the sound to indicate open ways is working well. Pherahps we should add some more sounds to when things happen, like when an item drops to the ground. Or we don't have such sound, or I'm extremelly unlucky. Would you mind adding a few contacts to skype or a prefered chatting program of your choice to dinamically work on testing the game? Please let me know about all this info I've posted.Best regards, Haramir.

Hi. This is not a choice that I or anyone else can make for you. This is all up to you. But I will say this: life is full of choices and in a situation like this we can't tell you what is right or what is rong, because what is right for me won't necessarily be the right choice for you, because the choice you make hear is a choice about faith and about trust in a being higher than me or you, weather it be Allah or Jesus.Remember, you have a lifetime to make this choice. Its not something that has to happen now, today. Its not like a job oppertunaty that has to be accepted now, so take your time, do research if you must, but in the end its you, and only you who has to be satisfied with your choice.

Re: Lambda Documentation

then its not correct syntax lol. MOO won't take it if it has anything wrong with it, and even when it does, it still might traceback when you run it, you'll have to get all the bugs out etc. DO lots of input validation on your top level verbs, and use internals to do all the work.like let's say you wanted to make a spin off of a #8 a generic containre, you wanted a locker that could lock to a player. first you need to test a few things, like if the thing calling the lock or unlock verb is actually a player, if its not, it can be assumed to be another verb, which you might not want, so the test if(is_player(caller)) is a good way to do that. Secondly, you might want to test that the person is in the same room as you. Sometimes the cores block players from seeing objnums, but just to be safe, so they can't trigger stuff remotely, you could do if (this.location == player.location || this in player.contents) or something to that effect to see if you're holding whatever it is or if its in the room with you.

HiWhat dark and orin etc are getting at and I kind of agree with their sentiments is, if its a ship ment for astroid hauling, make it come with a roid anchor. If its a harvester have it come with scoops, if its a combat ship, have it come with weapons and defenses appropriate for that level.Different upgrade required for minerals could be gotten rid of, made level dependent, or let there be a roid/planet harvester for lower levels, then 1 for higher levels. So that the time a person spends thinking of and getting upgrades reduces. My slight issue with the upgrades right now is, there are certain upgrades that you will just have to sit down and type or arrow up to and press enter upon buy 1, 1 at least 10 20 times... you could either have a prompt for such asking how many of those upgrade or what tear of that upgrade you would like to buy or if you have the level for it,max it.I agree with dardar about the cargo drones, though the update does make them more useful now...Grryf

Re: using spss with screen readers?

Why do people seem to assume we have the US  system. Before claiming I have no excuse, don't assume we have the same system. The course syllabus is only available first week, and there is no such thing is a reading list, even though it exists on paper. Sometimes you don't even know the texts to be used until much later. I kept reminding my professors to put up the course outline on my university's online learning management system. So ssame holds true for programs. Also, don't assume I have so much free time in term that I can test every conceivable function of a software package. Finally, you just can't pick up a program and say ı'll use that. You have to use what your field requires of you to use, and which is accepted. I don't have the time, or inclination to learn a whole programing language while writing a master's thesis. As for nvda, I quit creating github tickets a long time ago. They always tell me to contact the devs, who don't care. Same happened again when I raised the issue on the dev list. Considering that I was able to acquire jaws, I didn't want to deal with more hassle.

Angel, the Skype only available from their website only. And, to shutdown the OS, press "control option m" to go to the menu bar, and VO down arrow until you get to the "Shutdown", hit Vo space bar or enter key. If you hit the enter key without holding the option, a prompt will pop up asking you do you really want to shutdown the system. If you hold down the option key while pressing enter on the shutdown menu item, it will turn off your Mac without asking you anything. I not sure holding the option key on VM works. But on the real Mac it does.

Re: Christianity or Islam

@19-23, none of this even makes sense. Let's see...I'll let Ironcross32 answer that one (post 19). You wrote in post 21:For atheists.Think who created the world? It could not have happened at random that the land, people, etc. appeared.Um... science would say otherwise, in that yes, the universe was born from a massively condensed cloud of atoms, which then exploded outward. The debris left behind from that explosion created the stars, planets, etc. As for the land and people, yes, both appears, at random, over a very, very long period of time (think a few million to a few hundred million years, if not a few billion). It takes Nature a very, very long time to work its magic, but when its magic works, it creates brilliant things. Sometimes I think we don't appreciate nature as much as we should, but then again I'm not a naturalist or environmentalist, so...If you believe that our creator is a universe, this is also a religion. No, this is not. Science is not a religion. Science is a systematic approach to organizing information about everything, including -- you guessed it -- the universe. But it sure as hell isn't a religion (the word "science" is derived from the Latin word "sciencia", meaning "knowledge").For atheists.Look at your meaning of life. If God gives us the meaning of life, what is the meaning of the life of atheism?I can answer this question. The meaning of life atheism is death. Eternal death. Listen to this. Eternal death. Why do we develop politics and economics? If the meaning of life is eternal death? It's very difficult for me to talk about this. The essence of atheism is very well described by Professor of the Moscow Theological Seminary Osipov, but this is a lecture in Russian.First, the meaning of life is not known. Not to anyone. Humans are not meant to know the 'meaning of life'. You do not know the answer to this question, that scientist two doors down from your house doesn't know the answer either. (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy jokes that it's "42". But then again, the scientists who were building that computer weren't being very specific anyway.) The meaning of life is most likely not "eternal death" though. There's no way to know. Now, as for question of why we develop things like economics, politics, etc. That, I'm afraid, I can't answer.

Through obligatory ceremonies? In Islam, you can only pray in Arabic. Listen, only in Arabic. If God is all-seeing and omniscient, then why can not I pray in another language. In Islam, God is like a lord, we are his slaves. I understand that he created us, we are slaves for him. But the opinion of Christianity is closer to me. God is not master, God is father. I can talk to God, in any language, I can trust him, because I can trust my father, I'm afraid of the master. In Islam, women can not be touched. I love to cuddle, I like some other things that Islam forbids.

Both are powerful, both are compatible with visual studio, and both works very well with any type of project.

Looking for feedback on rpg I'm making

2018-03-06 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Developers room : miziziziz via Audiogames-reflector

Looking for feedback on rpg I'm making

Hello everyone, I'm a hobbyist game developer and just recently got interested in making audiogames.I've put together a demo of my current project you can find here:  https://gamejolt.com/games/ptolemssingi … mbs/291087It's a first person rpg, right now just a simple dungeon crawler.Let me know what you think, how it could be improved, and if there are any games (preferably free) I could play for inspiration. I'm pretty new to the audiogame scene.Controls:WASD - movementMouse or Q E keys - turn left and rightLMB (hold) - attackSpace - echolocateT - open/close inventoryR - use interactable or pick up lootH - sound current health amountEsc - close gameInventory ControlsWS - scroll up and downAD - switch tabsQ - drop itemE - equip/unequip itemR - examine item--Mechanics--Audio Compass:Your character's heartbeat indicates direction. It pitches up and down the more north and south you face and pans right and left the more east and west you face.Echolocation:Echolocating plays syllables of sound. There are tiers of distance that correspond to these. 'aa' means something is 0 to 2 meters in front of you, 'ee' means 2 to 8, and 'oo' means 8+. Notice they are in alphabetical order. These syllables play more rapidly the closer you are to something. Also, consonants are added if something interesting is in front of you; 'n' for enemy, 'f' for friendly, 'k' for interactable, and 'l' for loot. So, for example, if an enemy is 3 meters in front of you, echolocating will play the sound 'nee' repeatedly.Side Awareness:An ambient windy sound plays in your ear if there is an opening that way. E.g. a corridor to your right and a wall to your left will result in the sound playing in your right ear.Footsteps:A footstep sound plays every meter you step.Combat:if you're wielding a melee weapon and an enemy is within 2 meters of you, hold LMB to auto attack. If you're holding a range weapon and an enemy is in front of you at any distance, hold LMB to auto attack.Inventory:Inventory has four tabs: current equipment, backpack, stats, and journal. stats and journal have no functionality at the moment. When you open your inventory you go to your backpack. Each tab has a unique sound that plays when you switch to it. Backpack is a bag opening, equipment is a clicking/ snap sound, stats is a chanting sound, and journal is a page turning. When you scroll rows using W and S, a series of sounds is played indicating the item you're currently on. A sword would play a slash sound, file by a number indicating damage, followed by a 'whoosh whoosh' sound followed by a number indicating attack rate. A bow would play a bow firing sound followed by a number for damage, then the 'whoosh ' sound and a number for attack rate. armor would play a cloth/chainmail sound followed by a number indicating armor value. Picking up loot will play just the id sound of all the items in the bag. e.g. sword slash and bow fire. Same with dropping and equipping items.Numbers:numbers are sounded one digit at a time with quick one syllable sounds that are typically a consonant followed by a vowel. Here is the complete list of numbers:'ze' for 'zero'wuh for onetwo for twothrih for threefoh for fourfah for fivesih for sixsah for seveneih for eightnah for nineThe number 154 would sound like this: wuh fah foh32 like this : thrih two80 like this: eih ze

Re: `Cosmic Rage, an all new, all awesome Space MOO from Nathan Tech!

Lara Stardust: hello players! cosmic Rage has always danced a fine line between roleplay encouraged, and roleplay enforced. We don't really fit into either category, we tend to hover between each one. Cosmic Rage also does something else, however, and that is try to cater to as many people as possible. as such, when you finish character generation, you must now make a choice between either roleplay intense, where all ooc features of the game are disabled, rp relaxed where all ooc features excluding the ooc channel are turned off, or socialiser where all ooc channels are on. Obviously, you can toggle them on and off at your own free will. But hopefully, this will start Cosmic Rage on the path to being able to provide more roleplay serious people of the community, while simultaneously making shy people feel welcome. I hope you enjoy.

Re: Christianity or Islam

OK, let me try and construct a proper, meaningful response. 1) if you're not sure which path to take, are you sure those are the right path? are you even willing to join a religion? that's basically where I was hinting with post 6, to show, that there are other paths out there, some that don't involve religion at all. 2) I must, agree with posts 7 and 9, in particular. personally, people have tried convincing me to become a christian, and that god has a plan for me, I'm almost certain he doesn't. someone else mentioned about how the bible lost it's originality. exactly. how can I believe something that is there in writing? to the deeply religious, my question is this. where was god during the 9/11, for example? we can't decide what to dedicate your life to. we can only give you ideas, personal experiences, and reasons for why. personally, I'm an atheist, as mentioned above. why? well partly because I'm not from a religious background. but mainly because it has no evidence, and to be honest, the entire thing makes no sense to me. true, I haven't read the entire bible, but I just can't bring myself to do it. since there is only one god, and 1 right religion, what about the others? if there is only 1 god, why are there multiple religions? not to mention the way jesus was born. the sad reality is, I'm probs one of the worse to speak about this. the fact that I have no sight, for me, proves it all. I just hope you won't dedicate your life to something that you will regret later. while I have regreted many things in my life, (most likely this post included as well) I have never regreted for not being religious. interestingly, I believe in ghosts, which many people find weird, as I'm not religious. I do believe in an after life. I know, this is going a little outside of this topic, but I wanted to put it out there. I also want to speak about freedom. I know that some religions forbid you to do this and that, till this and that age. I can do whatever and whenever I want. I don't need to pray, I have no holy book, nothing. in fact, I'm looking into being a complete vegetarian in the near future. and why? I honestly don't agree with the idea of maintaining animals, only to then kill them. and that's nothing to do with my religion either. please, do not ever think that not having a religion will make you a bad person, ever.

Re: using spss with screen readers?

well sometimes for a course the requirements are such that you have to use what they say you have to use. It's a different thing then if you wanted to freelance. You don't always get to choose what tools you can use, university courses require certain things, certain jobs have their software that you must use to work there. Sometimes this leaves you in a bind because you might not be expecting it and now you have an accessibility nightmare on your hands, but sometimes it is known in advance what the requirements are and you can do your own testing before the term begins, and work with your disability director or dean of students to figure out a way around it. This is why you need to be aware of these types of things when you go to college / university, you need to learn to anticipate and be ready to solve problems before they have a chance to occur. Again, sometimes there's nothing that could have been done, but its always worth looking into what you could have done differently, and to try not to get caught up in the same predicament again.

I had a ton of Moslem friends growing up and they were among the nicest people you could ever meet and still are some of the best men and women I have ever known, also sadly my best experience in a house of worship was in one of the local Mosques even when I was a Christian as I literally was pushed out of every Christian church in town. I came into some money and then when I missed a sermon when I was still a Christian because I was recovering from surgery and couldn't walk much without bleeding all over the place, the pastor called and asked my Mom "Are you too busy counting your son's money?"I have had similar expriences with other churches in my town. That hasn't turned me off to Christianity just shows how Christians can vary from Christianity just as those Isis monsters are not actually anywhere in the realm of Islam other than hijacking what it is about. Also, even in the modern day, there are more than enough horrible groups in other religions to destroy their reputation if we made the same analogies we make between Isis and Islam in the media. The Pacific northwest, particularly Idaho and Montana are the HQs of some nasty neo-Nazi groups that take a lot of religious fundamentalist stuff into their beliefs and they are hardly representative of Christianity. There are similar Jewish groups acting out of Israel that are nothing like what Judaism really is supposed to be, and there are splinter groups of Christians and Hindus in China and India that are disgraces to the religions they profess and are nothing like in truth.I heard a great quote that I think all people professing religion need to keep in mind."You know you've built god in your own image when he hates everyone you do."I don't believe god can hate anyone or anything, except maybe the act of wrongdoing, as hate is a weakness, which an all-powerful God could not logically have. Also, there are actually over 70 kinds of Islam and it is as diverse as Christianity in its outlook for those looking above. It is true there are primarily Sunni and Shii faiths, but there's a lot of wiggle room in there.Anyway, I have been critical of both religions in my posts but I honestly think religion most of the time makes people better in the long run, and I include both Islam and Christianity in there, as well as most others.

Re: An accessible, browser-based horse racing manager MMO?

Hi.Sorry for bringing this back, but I might have an option for a horse racing type game open. The games main feature is not just racing. You create your rider and start out as just some random dude who is given a horse from the riding stable. The object is, well, you have multiple paths there. You can try to be the best in a certain disciplin, breed thurrough bred foals and sell them to other players, become the best one in a certain disciplin, there are some possibilitys there, and still new ones get added. There are different horse breeds available from ponys, warm bloods, thurrogh breds, draft horses are coming. You can engage in disciplins like trail, raining, racing, show jumping, dressage, endurance and quite a bit more, every breed of horse has it's designated classes which it's made for, for example english thurrogh breds are good for racing, arabians good for endurance, Holsteins for jumping, cross country and so on.You have to take care of your horses, train your rider, train the horses or let them train by other players which you will pay, try getting a foal from your mare, if you own one, try to create the perfect horse in breeding out all the flaws, we call it "Exterior", make sure the horses stay healthy, and well, much more, a bit to much to explain here.Problem currently is, the game is just available in german, it recently got out of beta phase and just kicked of into the full version on the 1.st of march. There is currently a new layout for the game in discussion and I already contacted the admin regarding curren problems with the layout and how they could improve on the new layout, this will still take some time though. The game is available in a demo and full version, the full one costs around 2 euros per month.I will keep you informed if it would be possible to translate the game into english, might take some time though.Greetings Moritz.

Re: Christianity or Islam

Hello.@Dark totally agree with your post, +1!@pauliyobo Islam is split into mainly two big factions, that's true, but a true Muslim has just to follow what Allah has revealed unto His messenger as well as the words of that latter. But hey, are you serious? Are ISIS Muslims at the first place? They're only meant to do things destroying Islam's reputation, killing all those who oppose them along the way while Allah's words are too clear: "There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower."@jonikster I'm not here to dictate what to choose and what not because you're the only one responsible for your actions. I'm just trying to show my point of view.If you really want to get a clear idea about both religions, you could possibly listen to some debates done by scholars like the late Sheikh Ahmed Didat and Sheikh Thakir Naik who used to hold long discussions with preests and people from all religions to rationally compare them with Islam. As for the issue about being sons of God ant the like, there's a clear Quranic verse about that: "The Jews and Christians say: We are sons of Allah and His loved ones. Say: Why then doth He chastise you for your sins ? Nay, ye are but mortals of His creating. He forgiveth whom He will, and chastiseth whom He will. Allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and unto Him is the journeying."Hope this helps!

it's hard to described the game development environment but it is really simple to use once you get the main concepts. it's pretty much menu driven but the best way to find out about it would be to go download it and play with it yourself. I helped with some of the testing and we picked it up pretty quick. unfortunately I've been lazy and haven't gotten round to making anything with it but it does also have a debug mode in it where you can play the games you make on your pc to test them out.

Darkmy advice is if you get stuck, go to the news tab and then try working with the links and lists from there. Sometimes the lists only work on some pages. It's weird but you can work around it. Then again, I've been working with the game for a bit and haven't gone to my goals page in a bit and Anouie has been working it. Send them some info and maybe you can fix it.

Re: Christianity or Islam

I agree that out of the two religions you ar leaning towards, Christianity strikes me as the more logical option.I am neither a Christian nor a Moslem but I have studied, and continue to study both religions extensively for my own personal improvement. I am agnostic, though I feel that there is only one god and that if there is a God it is good, powerful, and wants us to behave justly and ethically and I see atheism as an untennible position. The problems I have with Islam is that the scriptures although they  have a multitude of good proverbs, sayings, and ways for living your life, there is quite a bit of sensuality in the descriptions of paradise I don't think should be part of a religious view of purity, especially since such sensual descriptions tend to objectify women. That said, the message of patience, resignation to what God has in store for you (which you seem to really resonate with.) and the concept of charity and keeping one's eye on God alone are to its credit. And despite the polygamy and such it was the first religion to declare the spiritual equality of men and women, something the Christian scriptures never do. though as a book that is said ot have come literally directly from God, there are some definite things in it I don't think sound like reasonable things for God to say. The Christian scriptures are largely allowed to be inspired by god, but recorded by man, which explains the places where the descriptions of historical events and some other stuff could be off as many admit and still have it be a holy book while the Quoran doesn't allow for such things as it was written by the hand of God originally.Jesus is even given words of rather harsh criticism and mesagyny to women in the later portions of the Gospel of John, and the Christian tradition actually has a tradition of treating women like garbage as long and dark as that usually attributed to th eMoslem faith. Also Islam often considers other religions such as Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, Judiasm, and Christianity as deserving of going to heaven as well. When Jesus says that he is the way to God and it is interpreted that he is the only way, I don't buy it. To act thusly, especially if he is supposed to be one with God would make god petty, a trait contemptable even in meager human beings. If we argue that going to Jesus is more of a state of one's soul rather than simply surrendering directly to Jesus in name, it is more viable.Christianity did not resort to violence to spread itself immediately as Islam did, though we now know that Christians were persecuting Jews while the apostles were still alive. I also have an issue with Christianity trying to convince me that 3=1. The way previously described as to how the trinity works in the previous post did not arise until the 4th century, and it was mostly formulated out of mixing scripture with neo-platonic philosophy that was very popular and was actually a sort of rival religion to Christianity in the 3rd and 4th centuries. There had always been an idea of the trinity, but how it works didn't get forumulated without the neo-platonic works of Plotinus and Porphery (the second was rampantly anti-Christian.)That said, Christianity has a concept of love, peace, and the brotherhood of all mankind far stronger than I have seen in any other religion. If the logical problems I have with Christianity are not logical problems for you, and I admit I could be wrong about what I think does and does not make sense, I think Christianity would be a better choice. It has less sensuality, a more charitable spirit, and a concept of forgiveness and love of everyone that I think is a gift to this world whether Jesus was divine or not. I think he is worth following in example, even though I personally think he was simply a human being as both Jews and Moslems believe.

New EA Accessibility Forums and Bug Reporting

Accessibility Forums went live today, and with them came official bug reporting.  The biggest problem of passing around email is making sure the right people see it - sometimes people switch teams and communication is lost. The new bug reporting forum stores everything in databases by product, making it much easier for teams to access. When reporting, please report one major issue at a time and submit for each title separately, so it goes in the right database. Using the text field "I want to talk about something you don't mention above" to say "all of them" would mean no product actually logs the feedback.https://answers.ea.com/t5/Accessibility … 6674276#M1One step at a time.Thanks,- Karen Stevens

Re: Christianity or Islam

Greetings Constantine, I'd be pleased to help you with this. In Catholicism and some other denominations, priests are those who claim to be a mediator between us and God. However, Jesus said that by accepting Him, we would become kings and priests ourselves. "John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." (Revelation 1:4-6)You see, when we accept Christ into our hearts and lives, we need no mediator or priest; we can boldly come before the throne of grace. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)When Jesus was crucified, the temple veil was torn in two, which symbolizes that we have continuous access to God through prayer. In the temple or tabernacle, there were several areas: the inner and outer courts where the worshipers were, the holy place where only the priests were allowed (which contained the lamps, the incense altar and such), and finally the most holy place (or the holy of holies) where the presence of God and the arc of the covenant were. Only the high priest was allowed in the most holy place once a year, to make sacrifices unto God. When Christ was crucified, the veil separating the holy place and the most holy place was torn; thus, we now have direct access to God, through Jesus Christ: the divine Son of the living God. Therefore, according to the bible, we no longer require a priest; Jesus Christ is our mediator, but remember---he is also 100% God!God bless.

Let me ask you this, when you signed up for this course, or you were informed you'd need to take it, were you informed ahead of time about the requirements? Most likely this would be the case since you would have had to buy the textbook they use ahead of time. If not, this is something you will have to take up with your university, and if so, the responsibility is solely on you for not acquiring this package and testing it before your term began. If this were the case, you could have submitted an issue on Github about it and it may have been integrated.Saying there's no excuse for NVDA not to provide access to it makes little sense because the team can't possibly see every potential outcome and what every user will need. This is just the way of things. I would recommend going on the NVAccess github and submitting a ticket about it.

Re: Christianity or Islam

I'm afraid personally I agree with Ironcross here. Any person who is actually religious, and I mean really follows and believes in a religious creed rather than just  someone who runs along with something for status or a sense of belonging or something else is part of a religion because they've made a deep personal commitment  a God they have an actual sense of, a commitment that they're prepared to put work into, and a commitment which is not just a one way thing, not just a matter of saying some words or getting pent up with emotions.this is why the atheist will not understand a religious commitment, since a religious commitment is not based entirely on rationality, or on things which are  perceptible but is a matter off personal exploration, prayer and meditation. A very nice muslim fellow I once had a chat with said he had to meditate on the Koran each day, and even so he didn't feel he knew much of God as yet. This isn't to say religion is entirely irrational either, since there are definitely things which are not! part of most religions when practiced properly, e.g  killing people, indeed my muslim friend was most irritated at so called Muslim terrorists for this reason, he actually said "do they know better than God?" What religion and what path to God you actually choose has to be a personal decision and one which others can't help you with, since it's very much between you and God and whatever way you approach god.

Re: Christianity or Islam

To be honest, I believe religion is just a web of differing opinions of how our existence started, and not much more than that. I don't think anyone can really tell you or anyone else what to believe. People can help you by giving you knowledge, helping to talk out the things you're unsure about, but nobody can decide for you, and should not be pushing you to a decision. As an example of what I mean by pushing, a friend of mine in fifth grade came on the bus one morning, and was incessantly talking about why I should prey to God and be a Christian. When I told her I didn't do that, she was visibly upset. "Why not?" she asked. "That's a sin, you know." She told me how God created the world, he did this and did that, and I should talk to him and love him, and try to read the Bible.I felt guilty after hearing her words, like I had committed sins for the 11 years I had been on this planet, and perhaps it was too late to fix them. Religion was never a topic I really discussed much at home, so I wasn't prepared to defend or discuss the views I did have, so the conversation on the bus made me feel trapped. I was now more afraid than ever to discuss it at home because I was afraid I'd get yelled at for not doing the things I was supposed to do, and should've been doing without being told. What I described above is a conversation which, under most circumstances, you should never allow someone to start with you. I hope you didn't post this topic hoping for someone to do that, because it's not a healthy way to find your true soul and its beliefs. I myself am agnostic, but I won't go into that here. Please do not expect people to make your decisions for you. I made that mistake multiple times during childhood and it's something I'm working on even now, and it's not a fun position to be in when you're an adult.

Re: SoniFight v1.0 now available

it depends on the game but for menus the best way is to know what one of the items says, do a text search for it then scan for a changed value and move to another menu item then scan again. this should bring your results rite down. after that though you need to find the pointer chains which I'm still having trouble with. the guide does have tips on that though and there are links in it to tutorial videos in which he describes it pretty well.

Re: Christianity or Islam

2018-03-06 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : Ethin via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Christianity or Islam

I must agree with posts 7 and 9 on this subject. I myself find the bible extremely conflicting on various subjects. Think about it. We don't know much about the bible: when it was first written, what it said in it's first publication, etc., etc. The issue with blindly following religious texts is that they've gone through so many translations (and even some mistranslations) and the languages that these texts have been translated (and mistranslated) into have changed so quickly and drastically that we have, I believe, lost the original meaning. I don't even think we follow any Gods "plan" any more, simply because we don't know what the original "plan" was in the first place, nor do we know what the hell the bible, or really any religious text was, ever said originally. This reminds me of a discussion my cousin had over Skype one day. My cousin said, and I truly wonder this too, "When we go to war, and when soldiers go out to battle, they always say, 'I hope god is with us today!' or some such." He goes on to say, "I imagine God, sitting in his throne, laughing evilly down at us as he watches us suffer." And I truly have to agree with that. As Ironcross32 asked: why do deities allow us to kill ourselves? Why do deities allow what as happened throughout the universes history? Why would any God allow us to create weapons like hydrogen bombs, biologic weapons, etc. that are so powerful they could wipe out the entire population of the planet in several months to several days, if not hours? For me at least, I'm nestled right in the middle between Science and Religion. Some of my family is religious, some aren't, and so I'm stuck right in the middle of it. And I'm beginning to lean towards science much more than religion for one particular reason: because unlike religion, which cannot explain many things, and cannot prove things that it says, Science can prove and disprove many things. Science can explain the possible logical progression of events under a particular set of circumstances; religion may be able to, but in very vague references that confuse the mind. Science can explain many mysteries about humanity and the universe; religion cannot. These issues, as well as others I and others have pointed out on this topic, are why I unfortunately cannot fully commit myself to a religious point of view.

The fact that alternatives are available, doesn't mean that they are accepted. When doing graduate work in linguistics, specificly in experemental linguistics fields, such as psycholinguistics, or neurolinguistics, the use of SPSS is a given, and is expected. There is no excuse for nvda to not give access to this package.

Re: Lambda Documentation

@hurstseth405, the problem is that there's not a "conventional" way of doing it. Every moo (or even every programmer!) has their own way of creating these things. I've figured out that, over time, programming these kinds of things is designed deliberately to be challenging. LambdaCore is solely made to give you a core foundation to build off of, like a programming languages standard library is meant to. For example, Python's standard library, while extensive, only provides you the libraries to make a very basic GUI system; you have to write all the connections and systems that your app uses yourself. The same concept can be applied here. LambdaCore is like a standard library of the MOO programming language: documentation isn't meant to give you methods to create menus and any kind of game you want to make; rather, it's meant to give you a launch pad, of sorts, and create your own game based on what you have available to you.

Re: Christianity or Islam

hi, I'm not going to say I'm irreligious here. What I cannot do however is believe in the gods that religions like christianity and islam talk of, simply because the actions of this being don't make sense to me, and the information I get from reading into their holy books just seams very conflicting. Take the example of the christian god, who is described as all powerful, all knowing, all good and infinitely mursyful. How, however, can an all-knowing, all-good god allow all the suffering happening around the world right now, and all the horrible things done in his name such as the crusades and burnings on the stake of the middle ages? Any member of christian faith would tell you that god must allow these things to happen, because they are unavoidable in his grand plan he apparently has for all things. IN my eyes, a god that can find no solution to his problems other than causing a lot of death and misery is not an all-good god if he does it intentionally, nore would he be an all-powerful one if he could not go about the universe in a different way. If he does not know a better way to implement his plan, he can't be all-knowing either. Also, in the bible it says that god created mankind in his own immage. Why then do we sin? Why are murder, crime, and other such things happening, if we are all supposed to be created in god's immage? If god is mursyfull to all sins, why are we born with sin? If the bible is to be believed, adam and eav were cohersed to eat from the tree of knowledge 6000 years ago, which ment all future humans are born with sin. If god can forgive all sin however, why doesn't he forgive this act? To be blunt, why did he even allow other faiths to propigate? If he was all-powerful and wanted all of humankind to worship him, he could make it so that everyone does, but that's not what happened. I also can't follow christianity simply because it was responsible for a thousand years of theocracy and religious tyranny in almost all of europe. This basically haulted human advancements, we lost a lot of knowledge from the ages of antiquaty, and only started regaining it when the renaissance first started in italy. If a higher power does decide to show themselves to humanity, or simply to myself, I may follow them. Until that happens though, I can do nothing more than keep an open mind. Opinions are opinions, and far too many people have been put to death over the senturies because they believed in the wrong set of gods.

Yes, the game has 35 quests. I have a question. If your main character is a priest, I noticed that he cannot acquire the Holy Warrior ability. I was told that only Sister Alexia can get this ability. This is bad, as you need it to max out the Light of Purity skill. I was wondering if this is a bug, , or if this was intentional.

Re: TOS: TrekMUSH

I don't know which style I prefer more, in some aspects, I like RPing on other MUDs where its more immediate, but I can see where that presents problems. I have had a mixed response when RPing some people in the blind community. It can be anywhere from ungodly awful to pretty damn good, so yeah. I know that RP isn't for everyone, which is why I wrote this post the way I did, so that if people looking at it see something or a few things they don't like, they can just move on without checking it out and feeling like they've wasted their time.I know that people are most active in the evening, however, that doesn't always mean they're RPing, I don't know what they do sometimes, but if anyone would like, we can get something kicking off. I can do a little RP tour of the ship or something. Technically, I am a senior officer, and the captain has given me permission to move the ship, as well as all other senior officers as long as we log it. We can do training flights though on the shuttles, because I feel odd about moving the ship without orders to do so. The captain has allowed for training flights on the shuttle as long as we log the time of departure and when we arrive back again.  I think for now, everyone should join the Federation, that's where most of the RP is to be had, and there is multicharacter, but its something where you have to seek out permission to have a second slot open for you so that people don't get crazy with RP that doesn't make sense because they forget things between their characters etc.

The battle screen seems okay to me the only major difference is now that a lot of the hints are actually reported and stuff like skills and use of diciplins are buttons rather than random hotspots on the page, this is actually better. The only thing I haven't worked out is how to hover over an  or creature to get the info and stats, though admitedly I've not played puppet nightmares with nvda much so it might just be a case of me missing a key.

Okay had a quick look at this one. Thus far the game looks pretty okay, I like the fact battles have music. my only problem is that there doens't seem to be much exploring or questing, and the creatures are a little less interesting than in something like puppet nightmares being just told an elemental type. On the plus side the moves are quite fun and the game is obviously pokemon enspired with fantasy etc, though I'll note that this probably takes a modern browser like Chrome and a screen reader that can cope with dialogues and popups.
