Hi!69: I'd love it too, especially power ups to use in the board mode. I had actually already suggested it in the CP main topic some time ago. However, some people responded that it would make the gameplay unfair for newbies because more expert players would be able to buy more power ups, and, because of how easy is to cheat with coins, it would break the game entirely. For me, though, I think those 2 problems could be solved quite easily by limiting the power ups you can use during a single run and, well, by not playing the game with cheaters. I can see me buying 10 more seconds to use in the most difficult games, or something to force someone to play a game he doesn't like, or something to make me replay twice a game I'm good at etc.

The problem with selecting outputs in Reaper is that that only applies if you are using an internal mic or pushing the interface's audio all through line 1 of the virtual audio cable. If you want to use a mic input of the audio interface in reaper via asio, you can't set the output as line 1 virtual audio cable, only the outputs available n your physical interface. Thanks for the tip about sound preferences... I may give that a look. But I don't know how that helps if, say, I want to record an app in reaper along with my voice through an XLR mic.

I just wanted to give you an update and let you know that the new achievements user interface is now complete and on the screen reader test version at https://trimpscreenreader.netlify.comThe new achievements screen is just in a big table. The first row explains how much damage you get from each achievement tier, and the first column of each row is the achievement type. So make sure your cursor is in the first column, and you can control + alt up and down to see all of the different achievement categories. Once you find a category you want to look at, you can control + alt to the right to see all of the achievements available in that category. The first piece of information spoken in each achievement will be completed or not completed, to help make it easier to skip to the first one you haven't completed, then the tier values and a description are given if the achievement isn't locked.This is still just the first version of the new accessible achievement screen and I can already think of a few changes I'd like to make, but I really hope this makes things much easier for everyone!Please let me know if you have any feedback on this new screen!

@5 what problems are you having with it. As a general overview, you can direct apps in windows 10 now to the output of your choice. Go to settings > system > sound> App volume and device preferences. From there, you can see any programs that have made sound recently and adjust their volume, but more importantly, tell them which output to go to, and which input to accept data streams from. Note, if your app isn't being shown, it hasn't made any sound, so you'll have to make it do so, like for instance, just play a youtube video for a few seconds to get your browser to show up.When you direct output that way, you could go to TeamTalk, then hit control N, then hit enter on new profile. Give it a distinct name, then set the sound options with F4, followed by 3 control tabs. Now, this session gets saved and whenever you use control N to start another TT instance and you choose that profile, it's loaded with the same options you last used with it. When you connect to a server, you could have the input device set as line 1, so you can stream stuff. The advantage here is that you get to do it without a repeater, and the other people have the option to lower your stream, or mute it, without lowering or muting you, so it's more of a consensual thing than forcing your stream on people. Doing it this way, you can direct only the apps you want to be streaming to the server, and easily not include your speech. Also, if your app has its own methodology to route its output, I recommend doing it that way, simply because its faster.The more traditional way of doing things is to enter the sound settings by typing mmsys.cpl at the run dialog, or right clicking the speaker in the system tray and setting your default playback device to line 1. You can then either control tab to the recording settings and enter your microphone's properties and create a listen which would play through line 1 and make yourself both audible to the stream, and to yourself (an unavoidable side effect). You don't have to do that though, you could also use a repeater to take the signal from the mic to line 1. The things you want to make sure are correct are the sampling rate, which should match your mic's sampling rate in the advanced dialog of its properties (or the output from it will be pitched up or down accordingly), and the buffer size. It starts at 500, which is way too high by default, and should be brought to 50, then raised if you get substantial crackling.You can also use an external app to do vocal processing with, I will use Reaper for this process. The steps  go more like the first example, except you don't need to route it through windows 10, because reaper lets you select the output. Here's what you'd do. Open reaper, hit control P, go to the tree view, hit D. The screen reader will land you in the middle of device preferences, so get yourself near the end where the actual input and output devices can be selected. Make sure it's on the microphone of your choice, and then line 1 for output. In this case, since you're just doing processing, you don't need a second instance, so just make your input line 1 in TeamTalk's preferences. You will then need to have at least one track that has its input type set to either mono or stereo, and that track will need to be armed (F7) and be monitored (F8). If both those things are true, you will hear yourself, but TeamTalk will hear you as well. You can then add whatever effects to your voice that you wish. A de-esser maybe, if you have no mic and are forced to use a crappy lappy internal like I do (because my good mic has a maddeningly intermittent electrical 60 cycle hum), a compressor and a gate, a noise reduction tool, whatever have you.OK... I think I've learned I don't do quick.

Guys, it totally does not matter in this case whether the code is open source or no. What matters is that this is a fully broken game which is unplayable, so I quite honestly don't understand why is it so hard for the moderation to move this to developers room already. The dev can always say Hey I released an update and now it's stable, at which point it can easily be moved back, but I quite honestly don't see that happening anytime soon. The more we let this go on in the new releases room the more people will do it. I don't have an interest in getting this myself, but people say that the link is broken too, so if that is the case even worse. This on it's own definitely should not deserve a ban or something, but if the same person keeps doing it over and over they should definitely get warned.

Speaking of book apps, graphic audio also has one, they do full cast audio dramas and there are a couple different subscription plans to choose from that are way, way cheaper than buying all the books wholesale.You do get less choice of what to read though, and sadly I don't think it works outside of the states, maybe in Canada and the UK I'm not sure.

If you use windows audio session or direct sound, that's what will happen. Using default windows protocols only captures the first two inputs of any interface in stereo and nothing else, which is why your mic is only being picked up by one channel. Audio interfaces typically have ASIO support, so in order to route your mic through to teamtalk properly you will need to use something like Virtual Audio Cable which supports ASIO and then route the audio from your interfaces from as many inputs as you like through to teamtalk. Can't give any tips though, as I'm trying to figure out virtual audio cable as well and have had no luck with it so far because other blind people haven't been very forthcoming about how they manage to make it work accessibly.

Ah, gotcha. I can't say I'd want to play CP, or any button mashing game, on a laptop keyboard either. They're a lot more expensive to replace. Plus I just don't like the feel of them as much, so gaming in general wouldn't be something I'd want to do on a laptop unless I had no choice, or hooked my good keyboard to it.

Depends on what you want your deck for.My current setups:A blood deck (bug-dark) that does damage, gets the foe bleeding and then manipulates them. See earlier in the thread for details.A steel-flying deck with both grease cards and railway cards, plus a bunch of Steel Wing for quick switching. Once it sets up, it wrecks.A rock-fighting deck with almost pure damage and only a very little bit of setup. Golem and Antimagic Zone to make it even worse, plus Colossal Crushing and a bunch of foot-based fighting moves to help power things up.A steel-fire deck full of grease and Grease Blood and fire attacks. The aim here is to either generate grease naturally or with your own blood, fling it at your foe in one big blast and then cook them because grease makes you weaker to fire while you hold it.A fairy-normal deck based around sound. I'm still ironing the kinks out of this one.An alchemy deck where you work mainly with elixir of poison and toxic spore in order to generate tons of elixirs, then either make spores explode or make elixirs explode.A toxic deck, which does everything it can to poison you horribly and then just wait for you to die.A ghost deck that uses curse to full effect with high-level ghost cards.A psychic-electric deck with Telekinesis+Electric Lock+lots of high-damage electric attacks.And...that's pretty much what I've got so far.

Oh absolutely, Turtlepower. There are other games that are hell on keyboards. CP is, in some cases, but it's not the only one. I am particularly sensitive to this issue, as a laptop I got in November of 2017 needed its keyboard replaced twice within a seven-month span, and that wasn't even me hammering hard on it. It actually needs a third replacement even now, but I've got a cheap external keyboard I'm sort of relying on, so anything that's going to make me mash buttons repeatedly, as far as gaming is concerned...probably not high on my personal priority list, that's all.

It doesn't say in the docs so you have to assume it does not actively erase or zero secure memory after it runs out of scope. likewise, you can not assume it actively protects keys in ram.writing secure C++ is tough even in the best of circumstances. Writing secure C++ while trying to erase memory behind you and not letting anything leak  is near impossible. I would assume the majority of bgt is in angel script, only dipping into C++ where needed. I would be highly surprised if angel script had the capability to securely manage and protect memory. only the basics of encrypt, decrypt, and hash are offered. Do we even know the algorithms used?Again I reiterate, The sounds to your game being stolen is not the end of the world. why not leave them open and put that effort into a modding system. There are much more important things to protect, like your source-code, or your activation system.

Jade, you've said on a couple of occasions that some of the mini games damage your keyboard. I honestly don't understand the logic in that. There are plenty of other audio games which are button mashers. Crazy Party is far from the first. not to mention that a blind person is going to be a much heavier keyboard user, on average, than a sighted person. It kind of makes sense, then, that we go through keyboards faster, although buying a mechanical one does negate this somewhat, since they're rated to last longer than typical dome switch keyboards. I know mechanical keyboards aren't in everyone's budget, and some people simply don't like them, but I feel that particular statement you keep making is inaccurate.As for Numbers Quiz, I don't care for it either, but at least you don't have to do it in order to complete the intellectual world, nor does it open a path you can't access by other means. True or False is much better, since it's pretty easy to memorize a lot of the answers if you're dedicated enough.Incidentally, the space world is also one of my favorites, and it has Conversion of Large Distances, which is a math game I'm not terribly good at. I'm not complaining about that, though, because there's so much more variety in that world. See the difference? In any case, I think we've all beaten this horse enough, it's time to let it die in peace.

You also asked about cut scenes, so although you can add cut scenes to the games you create,  it doesn’t offer a tool for you to make the cut scenes in sable, you would need to make these using  your own audio editing software . actually regarding audio editing, our sound engineer (who produced all the music you hear in the video series) has been toying with the idea of doing a video miniseries on sound design, offering hints , tips and tricks etc on sound design and editing. Been spending tons of time with this one, and aside from a few accessibility issues, like items not reading in inventory unless you double tap it first and some options with the same issue, it is still very playable. The in depth combat system is very skill and equipment dependent and the trick to winning is to adjust what you have at your disposal to your situation. The task system acts as a tutorial to get you on your way, and more parts of the game unlock as you complete each task. The deb updates the game regularly and is very open to feedback. Honestly? I never collected credits that much, so I didn't ever encountered that limit, but I know people who collect and collect up to 20 or 30 credits until they remember that they got an Audible account and invest them on mass.Also, the credits system sure depends on the subscription model, but I myself just tried the one model I now got since 6 years or something and its great. When having this subscription model, all audiobooks purchased without credits also just cost $10, so if you really want to get all Harry Potter books in a row, buy the first with a credit and the other ones for $10 each if you want to. $10 for whatever audiobook is just great, and the really short ones (up to 5 hours, depending on the book) sometimes even cost $5 (or 1/2 credit). The only thing crappy about Audible is their DRM system, but there are ways out there to strip that from the files and store the audiobook in chapters and MP3 format (or whatever format you like) on your local hard drive.Best Regards.Hijacker

Funny thing I don't like about Audible, mind you:First of all, the per-month price depends on your plan, so if you're getting one credit a month it can actually cost a fair bit more than that. Also, Audible arbitrarily puts limits on how many credits you can keep with some plans, meaning you can't go all year saving credits and then go on a spree. If you wait long enough, old credits will disappear. My current plan makes me max out at 6, for instance, which I think it just silly. I bought the freaking things, I should be able to keep them forever.

There wasn't one single person who was being snarky, and I didn't hand out any actual cautions. It was more just a gentle nudge that we didn't need to be snarky.Remember, everyone, that practice has to seem worth it. Some people have the time and the inclination to become experts. If you punish people by making them try over and over and over again, that's not always fun. And if it results in repeated game-over screens (which as I pointed out take time)...well, that gets kind of offputting for some people. This is why I made my suggestion, as it's a soft compromise without actually saying "here, play the game and you'll win every time". Because that's quite obviously not what I want.Incidentally, I have plenty of problems with other games I've seen/heard about aside from the math stuff. The entire game has a rather unfinished feel to it. Why, exactly, do I want to unlock games and earn hundreds and thousands of coins or gems? Why precisely should I play games that frustrate me and can damage my keyboard in some fringe cases? I mean, if levels and stuff meant anything, then cool. I guess this sort of game really isn't my style, and that's nothing more or less than personal preference. And it's why I keep to the battle mode, where I still feel the gem acquisition rate is punishingly low.

PanBB Brings Nothing but Problems

It seems that ever since the forum switched to PanBB, there has been nothing but issues with it. Of course, these are the pangs you will feel when making changes such as this. I do feel the change is a bit irresponsible though, seeing as how the site admins are less  active these days. This fact has even been supported by the moderators, and leaves me wondering why this was done. The site has been around quite a long time, and perhaps no one at one such stage in their lives really can understand the commitment it takes to keep a site going for nearly 15 years. So I can understand interest waning, but what I can't understand is making a half-hearted  switch to a foreign, hackish forum software, if you're not going to be around to fix the issues with it.I am therefore requesting that one of two things happens. A) the admins fix up the issues, and try to keep a tighter reign in on them. B) If option A is untenable, please return us to PunBB. Maybe that option is unavailable though, as I'm not sure what PanBB does to the database and if it would be backwards compatible at that point. Still, I think PunBB has a commit in 2015, which would be a higher version that we used to have before switching to PanBB.

So noone has ever tried routing a DAW with a full multitrack setup with effects into OBS? That's unfortunate... yes, I had an idea that one could multitrack in OBS, but am not quite sure how accessible adding compressers and eqs would be. Just figured there was someone else who had already tried a similar setup to what I'm suggesting in terms of routing a DAW to the software directly so there's o need to fiddle with possible accessibility issues in OBS.

To be honest, you really can't call Audible expensive if used with the subscription system, $10 for whatever audiobook you like, no matter the length, author or whatever, is just amazing. Remembering back the times where you had to buy audiobooks on CDs where Eragon book one cost around $40, Audibles constant prices are deffinitely acceptable. Plus the app for iOS (and probably Android too) is accessible as well as the cloud player. The Windows 10 app isn't, but you can still get the old Audible Manager which is accessible most of the time.Sure, it isn't free, but then again, authors just want to get paid either, so there isn't anything wrong with getting one book per month for 10 bucks I guess.Best Regards.Hijacker

All of these bugs exist and I'm not the least bit surprised. The way this game is coded, you depend on everyone's client being in sync and given the fact that the client does most of the work...yeah, we're gonna have problems If I have time this week I plan to rewrite a good bit of the code, but we may have to pay a price of lag. I'm not sure though, I will try to do it as officiant as I possibly can.

Sure you'll have to figure out correct decks, but it won't be like training yourself to react fast enough to get 28 to 32 points on the truck game. Minigames require a hole special area in your brain, where as battle mode is like manamon, pokemon, ugio, etc.

in terms of vehicles, I think an area separated by driving car hazards would be great to separate new players from experienced ones, make it hard to get accross with low health or require a car item that has to be entered, driven, then left that could disappear occasionally so that only people driving could navigate safely.For the store, just take the item spawns away from the map and make boosts instead, health speed clip size range etc, or add in special weapons like brass knuckles that do more damage trhen fists, long ranged lasers, maybe some more melee stuff like an axe or chain saw.I also think making the map more interested and or more areas to go to would be better for stratagy, as well as some map hazards that stay longer then fires and effect all players like elecric fences or random monkeys that throw bannannas, just a super random thought haha.adding in more things to fight then each other would be neat though, wouldn't have to effect point values and could keep track of them separately for kills etc. maybe killing bystandards would be negative points.anyway just some thoughts, I too stiull notice the fire killing you after a while and getting points, and the bug where pig sounds don't disappear for atleast five seconds, and most of the other things chris posted on his server atleast since it has been updated.I also was thinking, on a last side note, that having random time periods where only a certain type of weapon would be fun, so everyone would have to fight with fists once a few hours or something lol, because you don't see people using too many weapons often.

I can confirm that the fire death bug is still present. If you die in a fire, you still receive points. Also, fire doesn't seem to sync for all players. I.E fire sometimes seems to be on one person's local client and not for everyone. Is this a bug or limit of the BGT network object. Speaking of the network object, I think there's another bug where players may disconnect, but the server still says they're there when they really aren't. I can't hit the player and the look commands tell me there's nothing there.Finally, there's another bug. Sometimes the ping for a player remains for a few seconds after they've bene killed. Is this another bug or server lag?

Well, while your posts are spammy, opening them yealds a temperary error so anyone that did open your topic would actually not be able to read it, so this is a technical issue, go to site and feadback, and lodge a ticket though, someone should have noticed by now.In my honest view, if you and others get error with what is going on, and you post it in the right place, then someone should catch it eventually.Saying that I have had issues like this at my job or on several jobs.The user is the problem, and we know our system.If it breaks the user is the problem and needs to be got rid of for hacking the system even though the user didn't do anything of the sort.The same people cry wolf and throw a paddy when I tell them, that their little system problem needs a full reformat and new bits.I am working through one such customer right now who has asked me to assess his system, but wants it to be fixed up the configuration untouched dispite me saying that while I could try at best he will get an inacurite result, without me firstly backing it up, stripping it down, running several scanners and stress tests on the hardware including a full reformat and updating everything.I have done it in the short term where I have tidied the config, updated programs, and drivers, run spyware and antivirus scanners and done a general cleanout.Assuming there isn't any dammage to fix, and assuming things work, what I often do is run several hacking programs to make windows ignore a lot of issues and then just not care what breaks, my main focus is to keep the system running.Now I have one such system thats to old and I ahve had a system that I was able to clear off like that but what happens is its really not getting down to the issue.A serious look is a serious look.That starts with everything going back to basics, followed by me getting to know what the system is or isn't.There is no such thing as a quick look without testing things.At any rate, I have to minus my screen reader as another opened window from the program list that I am running to get the real performance rating from the system but still.

Alireza, you didn't understand my point. If a game is paid, then keep it up. I pay for a game which is stable, and the veloper cares about it. It makes no sense if you pay for a game that is taken down after a month, after he gets some money from his playerbase.

There was documentation for this at some point, but it's probably very out of date by now. What would you like in documentation? It would be a lot of effort to write manually, but a script that takes some info from the rules and puts it into a document might work.The vermin is a pretty unconventional race, but they can be fun to play. Basically, you don't build buildings or recruit units like you normally do. Like Omer said, your buildings can generate stumps, which can upgrade into any buildings. And your, I think it's initially called a brooder, can recruit larvae which can upgrade to any units. The fruit trees are your farms, and the carnivore trees are basically like towers. The other buildings are needed to produce certain units. For example, to upgrade your larvae to mosquitoes you need I think a mud room, etc. The only building that has useful abilities is the mushroom gallery, which can do toxic spores that harm units, hallucinogenic spores that make your units invisible, and I can't remember what the other one was called but it heals your units. The mushroom units aren't particularly useful though, and I tend to not really make them. As for the other units, all I can remember is that crabs can attack adjacent squares, and fireflies are very useful when fully upgraded because they can blaze a square which does a lot of damage. Oh and the survival pheromone can bring back dead units, which is very useful if you lost units on your main square.

Hurrah! metal challenge complete now. Its sort of nice to see my Trimps powering through zones I previously had trouble with, though I now realised I forgot some major upgrades last time, which was probably a bad idea. as it was getting me more slaughtered than I previously was. I got to zone 33 last time, and 23 the time before that, we'll see where I get to this time.

I, on the other hand, wish the temperature would decrease. The heat the last while is too much. It's like summer realised it's about time for autumn to take over, so it decided to hit us with one last heatwave. I heard the americans had some extreme polar coldness or something like that. Please teach us to do that, we also want to bring some antarctic coldness here. It might lose a few icebergs, but I'm hundreds of kilometres from the nearest coastline so a bit of sea level rise is not really going to bother me too much.
