I get this way as well, to some extent. I don't care about many of the same things others seem to. I can make small talk and I apparently ice-break really well, but I quickly want to get past that and find out what you're all about, if I care at all. Some people find that offputting. I mean okay, I'm not going to ask really stupid-personal questions right off the hop, but if I talk to you out loud for more than an hour and it mostly consisted of the weather, sports teams or our favourite foods, it's probably not gonna draw me.The reality is that some people are built for this, and some aren't. You can train yourself to do it, but you can't ever train yourself to like it. That's my experience, anyway.

I love tag-team in MK9! It's just annoying when we don't get full tag-team. Rather than just the Towers. I agreed about Shao Kahn as well. That's should be unlockable in story mode. You see the DLC for Dead Or Alive 6? It's $93. That's unbelieveable.

To be fair, frost is unlockable. Shao Kahn should've been tied to story as well, but go figure, they want money.Oh, and one more thing I forgot... the absense of a playable tag team mode when it's... already... in, the damn game... in the towers. In the battles that just have you and one other person, you can in fact tag in and out.

Here is some recent news regarding Alter Aeon:The 'mystic projectile' spell has gotten a facelift, becoming the more versatile 'mystic armament', which not only can be cast on blunt ammunition like sling bullets but also blunt weapons, imbuing affected items with magic type damage.  The 'blindness' and 'cure blindness' spells might be getting changed up a bit as well, and some other cleric spells and skills will be tweaked to increase their usefulness, especially the 'expiation' spell.Small refinements for gods are being devised, such as favored compositions for unguents and sacrifices.  Pantheon entries have been set up to accept composition assignments, and we will finish switching over to the new system soon.  We are also working toward having unguents be able to be poured.There have been improvements to warrior combinations.  Combos can add hit point regeneration or constitution, and they will add movement regeneration in place of strength, dexterity or constitution if the attribute is already maxed out.Basic infrastructure has been set up for randomized encounters.  The goal is to have functional land encounters in time for the Summer Solstice Celebration, so we can showcase them in the event areas.  Details regarding the summer event will be revealed in our June update!We're going to be reworking Redferne's palace this month, which is a major hub of exotic areas for the low-level island of Archais.  The palace and associated areas will have quests added and will be leveled up and moved to the eastern part of the island. The thing I hate the most about this game is gears. Back in the old days we play the game and able to unlock characters. Now MK step away from that. For example, MK9 we got to unlock two characters, Cyber Sub-Zero and Quan Chi. I wish they don't use all the gears.

So I think part of me is slightly regretting buying the game day one... don't get me wrong, purely as far as the actual fighting goes it's pretty good, and I think it's fun. The problem for me lies in just how annoying unlocking stuff is this time around, specifically brutalities. what with the krypt being unplayable and character towers being grindy and/or short timers... I have to watch the exact same two throw animations 50 times just to progress to the end of stage 1? Seriously? And yes, there actually are timed character towers that some brutalities are locked behind, not the summoned ones you pay for. Also, maybe this is just me... but when people actively tell others to get turbo controllers just so they can have the AI play a game for you to get currencies to unlock stuff without you having to just sit there and press X, seems like there's... just a bit of a problem there. lolBut again, having said that, if they'd at least made brutalities available from the start even if you couldn't see the requirements, I'd be perfectly content with the game and just messing around with the towers and wouldn't be making this post. I don't care about augments, new gear or skins, so I'd never have to touch the krypt, or have to do/watch the same things over and over to be able to progress in a character tower that I already put 25/50K coins into.

So I have never seen a union before this. However, when reading a struct, you would write it in the BGT DLL call as a char* and read the struct as a string of bytes. Thus, to read something from the same address twice, you just access the same bytes from the string. It can be somewhat tricky to deref pointers, but for example with strings, we have the string_create_from_pointer function to do it for us. So if there were 4 bytes that could be read as a string and an int, you would run code that uses bitwise operations to convert the 4 bytes into a true int. Then you can both pass it to string_create_from_pointer and show the raw int in an alert box. Remember, all structs are once they are packed are a series of bytes. We can read these bytes as a BGT string to turn addresses that are shown in the struct to ints, then access them or pass them to other DLL functions. I unfortunetally can't give you code as I've never seen a union before, so I'll have to see what the byte sequence for one looks like and learn exactly how they work, but I would imagine it would be duable. Furthermore, I have not written any kind of include to read structs, I just have a messy implementation at this time that reads 4 chars from a string, converts them in an int, reads a byte and converts it to a bool, reads 4 bytes and converts it to a string with string_create_from_pointer, etc. So there is currently no pretty code that does it. However at some point I may attempt to make a struct class where you can call an add_value function, or pass a string representation of the fields to the classes constructor similar to what you would do in python. From what you've described of unions though it looks possible, though I have not messed with them myself.

Hi all,So, I've left the subject of this topic a bit vague, because I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to end up touching on throughout this post. I've had the idea kicking around in my head for awhile to post a topic like this, but something in the recent "they don't like me because I'm blind..." topic finally gave me the courage to speak out.Ever since I can remember, I've been pretty selective about who I call friends. I know it has a lot to do with the way I was treated when I was little. I went to a small public school where small-mindedness tends to breed. Students and adults alike were uncomfortable with dealing with anything which was outside of their bubble, whether it was someone of a different race, or a blind kid. In any case, I quickly learned that nobody was on my side, or, at the very least, was willing to go to bat for me, not my parents, who told me to only focus on academics and not care about the rest, not the teachers or other staff, who didn't know how to interact with something outside of their comfort zone, and least of all, not the kids who took every chance they got to ridicule me, throw things at me during class, take my books so they could watch me scramble to try and find them for the fun of it, slam me into walls when we all went out for bathroom breaks, etc. I definitely got a huge chip on my shoulder after awhile, and turned away the few people who tried to be friends with me, but they, too, were proven to only feel sorry for me in the end, or I was just plain mean to them so as not to get hurt, which I fully admit. I'm not proud of it, but that's how it happened.As I got older, though, I started to realize that socializing was draining for the most part. In fact, I don't get the point of small talk at all, not least because the first question that the vast majority of people ask is, "So, what do you do?" And if you're unemployed, you have no choice but to say you don't do anything, which causes most people to just scoff and turn away, since we all know that Americans are defined by their employment. Beyond that, most people, in my experience, present themselves as brick walls. If I'm going to become invested in a person, I have to feel a pull towards them. Not physical or sexual attraction, mind you, although it can happen that way, but if I don't feel that high, that thirst for knowledge about the person and their life and who they really are, I just... can't engage. If it were a professional situation, you can bet I would keep a polite distance, but beyond that, if the interest isn't there, I can't force myself to do the right thing and keep in contact. The kids call that ghosting nowadays, I guess.So, I guess what I want to know is, does anyone else experience this? In short, I often feel lukewarm towards the majority of people I come across. Getting to know them feels more like a chore than a pleasure. And wow, getting to know people who I actually do feel that pull towards is amazing! But often, we can't choose who we interact with, and even if we can, I know my views aren't normal. So, does anyone have any tips as to how you get past this, and learn to at least ride the waves when it comes to small talk, and not just fade out on people you're beginning to get to know?

I'm going to make a game, called Oh fucking god damn shit ass mother fucker! In this game, you will have to run forward and backward, jumping the rising rocks and ducking the falling cannon balls. Oh, and I might put random cats on the map that bark at you, as well as pits that catapult you up into the jaws of a cannon on the ceiling when you step in them. And then you get fired out of the cannon like a circus clown, only you're not trained so you break your neck when you hit the ground. And then we have the power ups:super speed... decrease, invinsibility... to health items,pit cover... area expansion,rock storm... reprieve for 25 seconds before they all rise around you for the rest of the game.Oh and if you survive for longer than 3 minutes, you lose all your points, and get a chance to post on the scoreboard. Yes, the game will end and let you post your 0 points to the board. Die though? And you get to maintain your score, but you only get to post it if it is not in your local top 10. It has to be lower. Haha!Mother... fucker!

I think Elder Scrolls has a subscription model that gives you DLC for a discounted price as long as you're subscribed.My brother use to be subscribed, but he found he wasn't using the  perks that much so he unsubscribed.Another alternative you could do is have a season pass, but I kind of like the subscription model, that way you can decide when you no longer wish to use it.Besides, most companies are opting to use the subscription model, I see no reason why you can't do the same.I don't know how muds like alter-aeon have stayed a float for all these years, donations? or premium content you have to pay for, I haven't played it for years, the grinding got on my nerves so I stopped playing.Anyway, these are just my thoughts for now.If it was me, I'd go with the subscription model.You could even have different rates for different levels each accessing more premium content, like netflix has with the one screen standard definition, then you've got the next level up, which most people use, that being HD and two devices at once.Then you've got the four devices, plus 4K plan.Obviously this isn't Netflix, I'm just using this as an example.

yeah, i didn't mean clone, i meant if a game is worth playing or not. if all the code is yours, and i'm ignoring copied sounds here because some are expensive and people can't buy, as long as the code is yours the game isn't a clone in my opinion. well big companies won't die by a few blind people pirating their sound effects will they?

@13 Whatever channels are there are there, you hover over one and hit control J to join, enter might also work on channels, on users, enter will open the message dialog to pm them. Control L to enter the limbo in between channels. I don't know if the public one will let you make temp channels, I wouldn't see why not though, actually I see some chans there, so I guess it does.

I'm assuming you're using "CV" as in "resume", which is what it means here in the States as opposed to "curriculum vitae" which is what "CV's" literal abbreviation is.This isn't a question with a straightforward answer. What's on your resume and how it's formatted depends on what field you're in. If you really wanted a poor man's TT server quick and on the down and dirty, you could just get the version of the software that comes with the server application for Windows.  Super easy to set up and use that way. It'll only work when your computer is up and running the program, but that is an option.

just found a bug or something at the beginning, when I'm nice about the glass vile to the witch, I see a message that says a party member has gained a level and the screan gets stuck on okay saying unknown state not found and I have to end task.Not sure if it has to do with the event or that when I first started I saved before getting the mercenary then, I reloaded the file but couldn't find the mercenary again.Is there something else I can do besides end task? And, do I need to give the game permission to access my network?

A lot of the community agrees with you there... the grind even just in general is unreal. At least they're working on the towers to be less frustrating though, although it remains to be seen whether or not the one patch was all we're gonna get, or if there'll be more.Also I'd just like to state how absurdly inconsistent it is that AI fighters can seemingly do brutalities you yourself haven't unlocked yet... I saw my Scorpion do a demon breath brutality just now. It is not unlocked, I only have his throw one which I believe is the default.

you get two from the character towers, then if there is a tower where the character you want is the boss, you get a random brutality from that.  the other one lies in the associated heart chest.  Looks like there are multiple ways of earning most of them.Can I just say though that the progression here absolutely sucks when compared with Injustice 2?I loved the multiverse in that game.  Story tidbits, possible rewards in every match.  Here, the towers are overall just not fun in the slightest.  It's lucky the gameplay is incredibly fun.

Lol that message has a story I put it there as a placeholder to warn about disabling forms mode and never got around to changing the sound file.The differences with the cube is that it's an actual cube. It might take a bit for you to get used to, but now you have extra lives and a chance to move the cube around and start from any color of your choice when the game begins.

I agree 100% with Dark and Ironcross. If people can't get past the "but you're blind" aspect, move along. Most of the human race is in "bastardy mode" as Dark put it so eloquently. I like that!Of course, you'll get lucky and find the few people in your life that really matter and look at you for the person you are. I don't want or need many shallow relationships with people that may leave at any time. I'm perfectly happy having one or two people I can truly connect with. Then again, I never have and probably never will, crave constant social attention, so it doesn't bother me too much. I don't mind meeting new people, but I can usually tell if I'm interested after about 5 or 10 minutes of conversation. People who are willing to learn new ideas and change their initial impressions about blindness and other disabilities are great!So in summary, seek out the fantastic people and leave all the assholes and bastards behind. You'll be much happier when you do that.

Count me in the category of lucky ones. It's only but on a rare occasion I've dealt with moronic humans who don't accept me or my blindness. I take your point, Dark, that "doesn't like" is a pretty vague choice of words.When consequences are to be paid (or if we believe there should be), it makes things far more difficult. Take this highly controversial stance taken by Lyft that says they are considered "a technology company and not a transportation company, therefore, they are not legally obligated to follow the Americans with Disabilities Act in the States." This obviously has significant effects on peoples with disabilities, not just us blindies, and will turn a few heads. Had this been a blindness-only issue, perhaps it wouldn't have even made headlines. In any event, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I get where you're coming from on the whole "unrecognized minority" thing.Even locally here in the state of Pennsylvania, we are facing issues surrounding the merging of vocational rehabilitation services that would blend blindness-related services in with the mix of everything else. We barely get the services we need (depending on where you are in the state) as is, and this merge caters to the overwhelming majority. That is, peoples with disabilities who are not blind.This whole blindness thing gets to be such a pain in the ass. Blindness has been very inconvenient; however, it has taught me the value of problem-solving and alternative thinking. That being said, though, I can't help but feel my life would have been at least slightly more fulfilling if not for better human interaction. The problem with this "getting down on myself" way of thinking is that just because I'd have had my sight since birth doesn't mean I'd grow up to make the same decisions in life -- joining choirs, being friends with the people I've made friends with, going to college where I attend now and pursuing computer science -- what if I turned to substance abuse? What if I had gotten caught up in the wrong crowd? (the sad truth is that I almost did, but my blindness was an obstacle because I couldn't run around town at age 12). It's hard maintaining the balance of "I hate the inconveniences of being blind" and the "blindness has taught me a lot in life" things.That point was far more tangential than I intended, but felt it was somewhat pertinent to the original post.

for sure. sounds good. i must admit though i'm starting to think that if i was to simply run the balance challenge every time i wanted to do a plain run through then it would be more rewarding anyway for the helium benifits. am already close to z10. it's amazing how quickly you can zip through zones and using the stacks purely to gain res ok that slows you down initially but it does allow for gaining res quicker.

But it still there.  And the problem is when it comes to stereotypes, as long as they are thought of and remembered they will continue to present a bad image of the individual or ethnic group that is being stereotyped. In a way, post 13 sounds worse than post 7.

Unable to see tracebacks?

So my friend is coding in python, and we're having the weirdest issues. He opens up cmd, goes into his directory with the script, runs it, and is unable to see the traceback. The only time that traceback is seen if it occurs while the python is processing the file, that is, a runtime error.Yes, he is in the object review mode, yes, he's using nvda+up and down arrows to try and read the screen, but it still doesn't work. He's on windows 10, by the way.So, tips? Is there a way to catch and write a traceback to a log or something? I'm aware of try and except statements, but surely you don't need to wrap the program in a giant web of try and except to catch any problems that may arise?

Exactly. those statistics, are tainted by bias.   Bias and a system that for whatever reason is still designed to hurt black people and other  minorities. Perhaps not to the degree as several decades ago. But it still there.  And the problem is when it comes to stereotypes, as long as they are thought of and remembered they will continue to present a bad image of the individual or ethnic group that is being stereotyped.

You can boost carpentry as much as you want.Keep in mind it compounds, which means the more you buy, the faster it increases with each purchase.You only start getting balance stacks at zone 6 or so, so at zone 8 might be a good time to rerun tricky paradise and rid yourself of those stacks, since they reduce health.Personally, I don't do balance much anymore, the rewards of helium that I get don't go far towards the thousands I need,

at what level should i do that? what about the default map you get at z6? i like that purely from the point of view that it gives you all 3 resources as a boost. i'm doing it among other things because i need the helium. i thought i could go far on the last run but i spent IMO too much on wormholes. i won't make that mistake again. it's keeping up with the coordination upgrades that was the problem. i really need to boost that carpentry pirk more. i take it you can boost that as far as you want or does it get to a point whereby it's not worth boosting it?

Redfox, I'd just like to point out that posts like 13 are nearly as bad as post 7, the one that made me show up here in the first place and speak my mind.Some stereotypes have a basis in reality. Some do, ookay. Many absolutely don't.Let's examine one. Black criminals.So, you say ahere are a lot of black criminals. Ever asked yourself why?Could it be that black people have the book thrown at them more readily, historically, than whites? Could it be that historically, blacks are often convicted of crimes by all-white juries even in areas where racism has run rampant? Could it be that blacks have a harder time getting work/being paid the same, and thus are more likely to enter into criminal activities in order to make ends meet? Could it be that decades upon decades of persecution have led to so much racial anger that sometimes good people snap and do terrible things?Yes, there absolutely are black criminals out there. Black gang members. Black drug traffickers. You name it. But there are way, way too many factors involved to just say that the black-criminal stereotype is justified. No, it's not justified. That's easy thinking to explain a supposedly natural bias. There are literally books written about the way our prison systems are full of black/indigenous people. Trust me, the stats don't add up.But to get back on topic:One of the things that really drives me nuts is hypocrisy. Hypocrisy of virtually any kind.Okay, so we all do it from time to time. Little examples I can shake off. But when it's big, it really, really sticks in my craw.Don't tell me you enjoy Cinco de Mayo yet support the building of a wall on the Mexican border.Don't tell me you hate liars, while lying a lot yourself.Don't condemn other minorities while you belong to one or more of your own.And definitely don't tell me you're in favour of everyone receiving equal treatment if you're a dyed-in-the-wool republican/capitalist, because we both know better. Those sentiments really can't e xist in the same ideology. Republicans rely on the in-group and out-group, and capitalists don't care how happy you are as long as you aren't squeaking too loudly and disrupting the money machine.Fun fact. I truly do respect most people when I first get to know them. I feel that my respect is something you do not, at first, have to earn. You have it by default. Excessive hypocrisy will make you lose that respect in a tearing hurry.
