@simba - SoniFight works using what I've called watches and triggers, where you can think of a watch as a memory address (although really it's the instructions to get to a memory address) and a trigger is a matching criteria, like is the value at this memory address 123, if so then say something.It's likely that in x3's galaxy map there is a single memory address that holds the currently selected sector as some kind of numerical value (so in SoniFight terms that means we need 1 watch) and if there are 200 distinct values that may be at that memory address then we'll need 200 triggers. So we might have a trigger that checks if the value is 0, and if so then we might say "Terran system", then another trigger to check if the value is 1, and if so we might say "Magellan system" and so on.Creating the triggers is the easy part, it's just a bit of donkey work - it's finding the pointer chains for watches that's a bit more of an involved process.@zkline - The day of the tentacle config should announce things in the main menu (the one you get to when you hit escape) so it should say things like "New game" / "Save game" / "Load game" etc. I'll go back and check it soon but probably won't get a chance to get to it until next week. If it's not behaving as expected I'll see what I can do to fix it up.@BlindJay - In SoniFight only the top-level menu of Killer Instinct is sonified unfortunately so you're not really missing much (and this was a bit of a proof-of-concept for me because KI is a 64-bit process so SoniFight had to be modified to work in a 64-bit manner).KI is a bit of a dog to work with because it has internal obfuscation of data. To make it harder for people to cheat, the game internally moves data about every few seconds - which makes life difficult when you want to keep track of values as you might imagine. I've seen this catered for though, so someone with a strong knowledge of using interactive disassemblers would be able to find the address of the redirection code and use it to construct a pointer chain that tracks these changes, but unfortunately that person is not me!The problem with requests for configs for games, even if it's just simple menu stuff, is that if I don't own the game then I can't even take a look at it to guage feasability! In terms of fighting games Street Fighter 4, Mortal Kombat 9 and BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend currently have working configs though, so there are a few options.Cheers!

So I've been sort of suspecting this for a while now (since 1.0 actually) but I've just duplicated it three times in the same game.Basically, penetration doesn't work.  As long as it's supposed to do what it says in the manual and kills enemies standing behind the first one you hit...  Well it just doesn't do that.

definitely agree on Williamson's version of the Hobbit, but it's a pity it was abridged. Wish he would've actually read LOTR as well.In contrast to Jade, Jim Dale is the voice of HP for me. I've read Fri's versions as wel and Jim Dale just... brings so much life to the characters. Just goes to show that two people can have wildly different opinions, both equally valid, about the same thing. I swear by Jim Dale for HP and likely will never change my mind on that one. lolMark Thompson, reads ome of the star wars legends novels, and does a fantastic job... I haven't actually looked into see what else he does.Richard Rowen from graphic audio is my favourite narrator from that company. He has the ability to narrate anything from fantacy to comedy and can match his reading tone to either one, serious or light-hearted. I also don't listen to much in the way of audio books that aren't from Graphic audio. lol

@r3Dux Would there possibly be a way to use or for someone to easily reconfigure the killer instinct config to work for the definitive version on steam?  If it's a lot of trouble I understand but steam version sometimes goes on sale for $10 USD instead of $40 USD on microsoft store.On another note, I would be more than happy to eventually donate to or purchase any configs especially for fighting games on steam and or pc, although steam is where all the fighters seem to be sold these days.  All of the menus don't even have to speak, for me, it would be enough to get to the training/practice modes, adjust difficulty against the CPU and maybe even speech on the character select screen.Thanks so much again for your great work.

@Chris: Humanware is not abandoning the Stream. However, do realize that the Trek will undoubtedly be getting more advanced features than the STream2 in the long run. I'm told in a few months we'll have iBeacon support, FM radio, and OCR-ing pdf's. This is also thanks for the more obvious bluetooth and fm radio chips embedded, but also because the Trek uses a much faster Qualcom Dragonboard410C processor. It runs at 1.2ghz per core (a quad core cpu) and has 1gb ram. For a daisy player and GPS, that's more than enough. The Treker performance is extremely responsive. Podcasts actually do download faster. And the unit has 16gb in reserve for user storage, so no need to worry about running out of space for books and podcasts quickly.*Youtube: not sure, considering we're talking a device that has no video-out of any kind connected.But if any device would get network folder-browsing support that's actually good, it would be the Trek. The Stream2 simply lacks the hardware specs. By the way, both systems run Linux embedded, the Bookport Plus is the only one we got still running Windows Embedded CE.

As soon as you get that essense of resurrection from the protector when you first fight him, isn't it you can go and resurrect Stella already if you want to? Now, when you resurrected Stella and you return to the organ room, you can use her to fight and let her die so you can be transported back to your cabin, dont save your game yet but instead, go to the statistic shop and start training your char for free. By the way, before you  go to the statistic shop, transfer few gold coins to stella so she have something to use instarting training her stats. let say 300 gold is enough? and if you are in statistic shop, train the stats of stella first and you can notice that she will pay for the first train but all the rest are for zero gold coin. now you can start training all the stats of your character for free. O but dont logout your game until you are satisfied with your stats cause ones you logout and return, you have to pay for your training again.

There is this group who's been running nascar races consistently on topspeed 3.  Ironcross32 is part of it so I'm sure he could explain more.Of course there is also RS Games, QuentinC's playroom and Ontoys online game platform for cards/dice/board games.I second the suggestion for Sound RTS, as long as you can find someone decent to play against and no one's connection drops...  I suggest playing smaller maps and setting speed to fast (not fast2) to help with that.Core Exiles and Improbable Island are pretty good too, and there is always Aardwolf and Materiamagica.

Moritz,I'm investigating the use of SoniFight with X3, and will keep everyone posted if I manage to produce anything useable. FOr now, I also bought a copy of Day of the TEntacle and am struggling to make some progress with it. I wasn't able to get anything out of the initial screens, but hit enter a couple times and seem to have started a new game by happenstance. I Wonder how much of my problems have to do with the fact I'm using a trackpad instead of a proper mouse? At any rate, I DID get some useful spoken feedback but was still left a little confused. I have to read the game manual, clearly.

Awww they are worried about people hacking the bookport plus? Ehh hem, you mean, like running batch scripts on it and dumping the entire filesystem?  yes, I did that. Yes it is running windows SE core 5.0 if I remember correctly. I never checked for ram, disk space or CPU, I'll have to see if there is a windows CE 5.0 compatible program I can use to do that. If I find one I can run it and let you know. That's hilarious that they don't want to give out hardware specs. Yeah dude ya know that government server bro? Yeah, that one. I hacked it and got root access because I knew it was running linux and it had 32GB of ram! Yo man mind telling me how many cores your computer has? This info will let me steel your passwords, no doubt about it!

I believe there is some sort of optimization that is performed where the faster things are loaded before the slower things. It follows the same python import order. First it checks for C extensions, because those would be the quickest. Then, it checks for pyc files both in pycache and out, because they would be the next quickest. Then, it checks for module.py, or a folder called module, because those would be slowest as they would have to be compiled into pycs, or if not their code would at least have to be parsed, and string parsing is always the slowest. So in short, pyinstaller follows the same loading order in general as python's own import system, *.pyd/.so if not on windows, *.pyc, *.py

Well, here goes...If you're going to be modifying the Stream software, I'd suggest either not tampering with the original card or making sure you've made a good working backup. I'm honestly not interested enough to do this because I'm not a developer, and I don't have enough Linux knowledge yet to go cloning partitions and the like.I can think of plenty of cool things to add to the Stream. Humanware seems to have abandoned the project which pisses me off! There's so much they could do. Let's see, what do I want?1. The ability to browse, stream, and download files from local SMB network shares. My super awesome idea was to get a Raspberry Pi, connect a hard drive with a ton of audio, and wirelessly access all that content from the intuitive controls of the Stream.2. A network transfer mode to transfer files to the SD card and/or internal SD card from a computer. This may or may not be worth it, especially when you consider how awful the Book Port's network folder feature is. The fastest speeds I ever achieved were just shy of 500 kbps which is ridiculous!3. The ability to send audio to Chromecast and AirPlay receivers. The device has Wi-Fi, so why not? I want to play books and music on all my Google Homes and Chromecast Audios scattered around the house in sync.4. Access to the Broadcastify database. We have ooTunes, so why not access to police, fire, etc radio streams as well?5. Access to the dictionary.com and thesaurus.com websites. There are times when I want simple lists of definitions, and Wiktionary is crap!6. Support for drives formatted as NTFS and ExFAT.7. The ability to Stream podcasts in addition to downloading them.8. USB keyboard support. I hate the classic telephone keypad typing crap!9. YouTube? I don't know if this one is feasible. What kind of hardware are we looking at with the Stream? What are the specifications for the processor and RAM? Does anyone know? I'm really curious, but Humanware probably wouldn't tell me.10. Download speed notifications. I'd like to know how quickly items are downloading and why the Wi-Fi is so damn slow. Is it because there's a really crummy processor inside the unit?11. Unlimited stats without cheating? How does that work? I don't know a lot about the postgame as I got bored with all those silly scrolls and the timing. I freely admit to having cheated those especially toward the end; and once you start doing that you quite literally take all the challenge out of the game. How were you planning to host everything? Everything is already centralized, but the issue is you can't sync individual files (unless I'm mistaken). I myself can afford the space, but not everybody wants all 25+ GB of files. Just curious how you're planning to allow people to grab whichever files they want instead of having to download everything as a whole.

Hi, is it true that in paladin of the sky, it is possible to include the protector in the post game as long as Stella is not one among your group? If so, how to get the protector join your group? There are two main reasons why I tried playing this paladin of the sky for the second time despite its being half decade old and one of the main reason is the one I mention above. The second is that according to someone, there is a way for you to train your stats for free and i already discovered that And its true, you can train the stats of any of your character unlimmitedly without cheating. In fact, all of the members of my group has 500 strength and 300 impact points at this time. So my only problem right now is how to get the protector join your group if that is really true or if you really can do that.

While coding it’s self is not hard, you can learn the syntax in just a couple of days, it takes skill to put it all together and understand how to apply the concepts to whatever you want to do.  Furthermore, you are adding another layer of difficulty when allowing the user to input data, as they might not enter exactly what you want.

Another way to undo any damage you may do by messing with the default.jss file, is to backup the entire enu folder itself. Go to C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\2019\Settings and copy the entire enu folder, then if you screw anything up, you can just copy it back and everything will be back the way it was before the howler. I believe Every jaws user should read the basics of scripting manual, and complete the exercises. You don't have to know a thing about programming to learn to write genuinely useful scripts. This thread shows how quickly and easily any user can add extra functionality to jaws. All those built-in functions really help to make the process as user friendly as it can be, and the script manager itself will often try to help you as much as possible by giving you a bit of info about where you're going wrong when it fails to compile. This for me is jaws' greatest asset. You will screw up now and again, even crashing the PC if you create a loop without a failsafe, but as long as you're backed up, you'll be fine. Like Munawar said, mistakes are an essential part of the learning curve.

The time highly depends on your PC specs of course, but each update will take different amount. For example, when I ubgraded last year it took very short time, maybe an hour if that. This one however took at least 3 hours, and the most annoying thing about Windows is when it goes up to 80 percent very smoothly, and then it is just stuck there, and going little by little. I guess that perhaps has to do with backing up your files, but never researched that. In any case, just let it do it's thing and all will be fine, unless of course it is buggy

So, just to clarify: Hooks are over glorified hidden imports. Their files contain the line hidden imports= module names. Spec files are preset arguments that define your program. they ignore any arguments that are passed along to them if they are not in the spec file. The most simplest way  to include everything is to have your main python script import all the modules you need and then start the app.  Did I miss anything?

Hmmm yeah I hadn't considered the server idea. It sounds viable, but I'm not sure of the security implications of something like that. It could be dangerous to send code to a server and have it compile, I can't see a way to make something like that perfectly airtight without the ability for me to use some clever cython directives or something like that to somewhat pwn the compilation server

Yeah, #5 is correct, this is your best bet if this is what your aiming for. If you have access to the windows API, I would look into the function SetWindowsHookEx. Just make sure to let the control keys through no matter what, and make absolutely sure you remove the hook and/or let all keys pass through it if the game's window isn't active. You'll need to create a callback to handle the hooked keys, I haven't had to do this so not sure if there is a way to detect key repeating events as thinking about it those are the only things you need to block. Basically what's happening here is that when a key is pressed, NVDA automatically stops speech to prepare for whatever is spoken next. But because of the way windows and key repeating works, NVDA thinks your pressing a key every time the windows key repeat triggers. I'm sure you know what I mean, it's the same windows function that lets you hold down the letter z for 10 seconds and print loads and loads of z's. Even if there is no separate event for these key repeats verses key presses, you can still likely block these. Windows only seems to repeat the last key pressed, so it shouldn't be overly difficult to write something to just make sure the same key doesn't get let through twice within a certain timeframe. With a bit of searching it seems you can get the currently set keyboard delay and repeat rate with the API function SystemParametersInfoA. Using this you should be able to both let double tapping a key go through while also blocking key repeats, assuming there is no direct way with the keyboard hook to do so. So I did some more searching as well as looked at some old code I'd written before. Basically, you create a callback that returns 0 to stop normal event handling, and returns 1 to let the handling through to windows. The hook you want to set with SetWindowsHookEx is the constant WH_KEYBOARD_LL, or 13. In the wparam argument of your callback you give it, you either receive the constant WM_KEYDOWN or 256 if a key is pressed, or WM_KEYUP (257) if a key was released. I'm not sure if you keep receiving events for the windows key repeat, I doubt it. Apparently you can send your own keyboard input with the SendInput function. So what you could do to avoid the windows key repeating is to send a key down event with the key if that's received, immediately followed by a key up event. You'll probably have to add a check so you don't end up causing a loop by making your hook get continually called with your sent keys. I haven't tried a lot of this, though I know from some old code more about the SetWindowsHookEx function. I *may, be able to throw together a DLL that has a couple functions to disable and enable windows keyboard repeating. I'm no C++ master of any sort, I just know enough to hardly get by, that and a lot of helpful stuff from stackoverflow lol. I should be able to get something like that to work though. I'll probably try as I could see something like that being useful for the future, and if when I'm done your still deeling with this issue I can certainly give it to you to use if you wish.

I don't think their's a way to lower the MP3's, but if they're too loud, I do have some backup battle songs that are much quieter. If you want the same ones, I can record them with Audacity and very easily lower the volume. About the battle with Sniper, it's completely optional, though you can gain a decent exp bonus if you win. Also I know I've said this before, but make sure you listen to ware you're supposed to go next. Their are orbes in the game that you have to destroy to proceed, but I made it so you can physically destroy them wich means you could miss parts of the story. The too major ones that I can think of are the orbe outside of math upgrade and the orbe in between exponents and math, but their might be others. Another orbe that will allow you to miss a lot of the story is the one outside of Math Upgrade. When it says go to the moonlight tower, I think the moonlight tower is on the main street. Go their first, and do not leave Math Upgrade until you've completed the moonlight tower.

I don't think their's a way to lower the MP3's, but if they're too loud, I do have some backup battle songs that are much quieter. If you want the same ones, I can record them with Audacity and very easily lower the volume. About the battle with Sniper, it's completely optional, though you can gain a decent exp bonus if you win. Also I know I've said this before, but make sure you listen to ware you're supposed to go next. Their are orbes in the game that you have to destroy to proceed, but I made it so you can physically destroy them wich means you could miss parts of the story. The too major ones that I can think of are the orbe outside of math upgrade and the orbe in between exponents and math, but their might be others. Hello, I copied the above code in the script manager, after pressing ctrl+shift+d, that is. After compiling, it says compile complete, but ctrl+shift+c does nothing at all.What should I do?I've been wanting to have ability to directly copy last spoken individual items for a while, thanks a ton for all your help. I'm using JAWS2019-April version.Edit: finally, I got it working after tampering with the script manager. What I did was-created a new scripty in the default file, there,  copied the script name from your script, assign a keystroke of my own to copy stuff, selected script in the type, added the description,  then copied the stuff between the script name and end script, and hit compile. It worked! And it's awesome, thanks a lot for this!

So paul, I just gotta give ya a friendly little poke here. Your examples are a bit broken, I figured you'd find it pretty amusing if I pointed it out  So your first one, for item in x: if item>3: x.remove(item) will remove every other item that is greater than 3. x = [item for item in x if item>3] will keep every item in the list that is greater than 3 and remove everything that is less than or equal to 3. I'm guessing in your first example with the if statements you were trying to remove everything greater than 3 and not every other thing, and I'm assuming you wanted to do the same in your second example  so I believe you wanted this.x=[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13]#or, this ones for everybody x=list(range(1,14))#example 1for item in list(x):    if item>3: x.remove(item)#example 2x = [item for item in x if item<=3]Anyway this isn't me trying to be cocky or anything to anyone who would think so, I just know that if I did this Paul would also commence some friendly trolling in my direction

OK, hold on, lets clear up a bit of confusion here. Now that I have more than 5 minutes to write a post at the end of a class, here we go. So paul is somewhat wrong, if you use cython, you will likely want to use a pyinstaller hook to manage your hidden imports. So, you will probably need to use them. Hooks aren't just for hiddenimports, hooks are used when you have a package that needs special treatment when compiling. Maybe it's moving a dll file to the proper place or maybe it's just hiddenimports or maybe it's printing a warning to the user saying hey bro please upgrade me to compile. Using hooks for hiddenimports though is at least what I do and it works quite well. No, you don't need one for each module. Basically what you do is choose a module, any module. It needs to exist though. This may or may not work with the main script, I've never tested that, so I'd just use a module. So lets say our module is called game.py. Just encase you need other custom hooks, what I would do is create a folder in your games running directory called hooks. Now, create a file called "hook-game.py" in your hooks folder. This is actually a python script, allowing you to import stuff and do whatever pythonic thing you need to. In this case, all you need is hiddenimports. Basically pyinstaller will exec this python script once you tell it about the hooks folder, and access the hiddenimports global of it. So say in your cythonized file, you include the modules os, threading, enemy, json, and item. To tell pyinstaller about these imports, add this to your hook-game.py file of course excluding the start and end quotes. "hiddenimports=["os", "json", "threading", "game", "item"]". Now, to tell pyinstaller about your hook, pass the additional argument --additional-hooks-dir, like this. "--additional-hooks-dir=hooks". Now when you build with that argument, the hook-game.py file will be executed and the modules from the hiddenimports variable you declared in it will be included. I have not tested it and am not sure of the sintax, but you can also declare hiddenimports through the command line. I believe there is a --hiddenimports arg or something, but as I said I never tested for how to use it. You can also use spec files like you were doing before, but as I said in my previous post, you can't change command line arguments when using a spec file as far as I know. I don't use spec files at all so others may have a much more complete knowledge of this than me. But from my understanding, spec files are actually built using your command line arguments. So when you build a spec based on your py script, like pyinstaller --onefile --windowed script.py, it will make a spec file based on those arguments. So now, to recompile, you can call pyinstaller script.spec and it will use the arguments you first used to create it. Thus, if you pass new arguments, they won't be used because the spec file overrides them. To change them, you have to modify the spec file in notepad, as visualstudio pointed out. As I said I'm not completely clear on it so take what I say about spec files with a grain of salt. However, there is a much, much less annoying approach you can take. Why bother with hiddenimports at all! Remember, all your trying to do here is to tell pyinstaller that a module you need must be imported. By default, pyinstaller scans all scripts it loads for import lines and uses that to figure out imports. So, all you need to do is in your main script that you are compiling, that launches your application, just add them all there. "import os, threading, json, game, item". Now compile, and it'll work perfectly. All you need pyinstaller to do is to import the modules. It doesn't matter what scripts use them, they just need to be in the pyinstaller package, and then any module that needs can use them. So what I'm trying to say here is that imports are separate from the modules that import them. Basically on compile, pyinstaller finds all the imports it can, and tosses them into your final package. When you run that package, it doesn't matter where they came from just that they are there. Your modules will import what's needed, and if it exists, your app will start. So knowing this, you can skip the step of hiddenimports entirely. Obviously you have to start from a python script when you compile with pyinstaller, so in that script, just make sure to keep updating it with new import lines whenever you add a new one to something that will be cythonized. So long as those imports are in a file pyinstaller can read, and of course it can read your main file, those imports will be included and your app will work just fine. Then, you don't need spec files at all. Ultimately what path you choose to take is up to you. Hope this makes things more clear, please don't hesitate to ask questions.

Here try this. open registry. expand HKEY classes root, find folder, expand that. go to shell and press tab, go to the default value, and press shift f10, click modify, and type this in. open_x2 exactly how i spelled it. press enter, and try to open up a folder from the run dialog. Boom! xplorer on windows 10!

So my opinion is that this topic should be closed so that this clone's publicity doesn't spread anymore. Then this topic could just sink to the bottom of the forum and never be seen again. However, my opinion also conflicts with the morals that no download links are being distributed and thus talking about it can't exactly be helped, what I'm saying is it should only be closed if as the rights holder of the game, I also would have the power to say oh hey you know this topic where someone is complaining about stw? It should be closed because I don't like people complaining about my game that I made. I guess it's up to you, this and my example don't completely align because this is still theft, I just don't want anyone to think I'm trying to impair free speech or something lol
