Magic defense is good to raise for when you aren't hit super-effectively.I'm also aware that my team has a large stone weakness, but three out of the mons that are weak to stone can deal with it (symphonid with sound, Maustadon with Earthquake, Fowlusion with grass attacks). I ask about the transforming things with items too early since I know in the first game, there were a couple of things like that. Nothing that's going to break the game, but they're something to be aware of. Zintrabat and wing slash comes to mind. Also dussoket, if you don't transform it at level 1, you'll have to go get oblivion slash from the memory tutor. No idea what they're like here though. I haven't seen any situation where you miss out on a good move.Some new findings, nothing too crazy.Hathorilian eventually gets Stone Storm and Flying Frenzy, plus three of its skills summon weather while doing damage, so that's cool.Ampanda, an electric type, transforms while holding a yellow star and levelling up. It actually has pretty high attack, defense and good special attack, but it's not super fast. It does get Spark Punch as well, among other things.I do not have a Kangachan on my team. I've played with one, but it's not part of my team.First manamon to hit level 100, by the way, is Lantlare (which I've spelled wrong all this time because I'm an idiot).And thanks, Loxias, for the info on the chest. Electric also handles water, and water can handle ground and rock.Shrubbreek might fit your bill. It's a plant-ghost, and it hits like a truck. Frail as hell though, from the look of things. But hey, at least you won't be stuck in battle indefinitely.Alternatively, you could always try Treezon, but I wasn't especially impressed with that one, as its special defense seems a bit low, and being poison type means magic will wreck you pretty hard.That shop inventory is the one I have, and I got it by donating like 40k gold.Loxias, do you even remember in which quadrant of f5 your chest was on (i.e., northwest, northeast)? Was it near the stairs to f4, or closer to the path that leads you out?slightspoilersJust utterly trashed HyperSymphonid again. Did not get a whole lot of exp or gold from it, but that's okay. Wondering if my team, with its weaknesses to ghost/holy/undead among other things, will be able to take down the ghost in Shadow Canyon in a rematch.Just found another disk, BTW. In the professor's lab, near that weird machine, is Anagrams. I actually like that one. Can get like 70-100 credits per minute that way, so at that rate it should only take an hour and a half or so to grind for what I want. Re: Manamon 2: Impressions Thread You did exactly what you were supposed to do.PlotspoilersI was okay with the twist, honestly, and further developments with Eshcon, frankly, redeem him a little. Characters in manamon 1 were very two-dimensional by comparison; at least Eshcon has some reasons for what he's doing, and is not a bad person. The villain isn't either, not really. But as for sci-fi twist? Well, you fought a robot thing, then a dragon and a machine; were you expecting traditional fantasy? lol The game has some sci-fi-esque elements to it. You can either like it or lump it, really.I just discovered that my formerly fun way of earning credits is...ahem, no longer a thing. The game forces a save every time you try to use the slot machine. Not only does this drastically slow things down, but it's obnoxious because you can't just run the slots a hundred times and hope for the best, then reset and try again. Look, let's be real; this is optional content here, and putting artificial impediments to slow down progress is a pretty big deal. Let's also point out that you don't even get the slot machine disk until you're fairly near the end of the game. My stance is, if a player wants to waste twenty minutes blowing a bunch of tokens, gets nothing, resets, tries again and strikes lucky, then freaking let them. I'm more angry right now than I have any right to be, and I recognize that, but Aaron, if you're still reading this thread, please take note of this. One of the commodities of your player base is time. It is perfectly reasonable to put in challenges to your game, legitimate tests of difficulty or reflexes or strategy or whatnot. What's not okay, however, is making things artificially annoying, difficult or longer than they need to be. If you want people to play other games besides slots, then either make the other games easier, or make them more lucrative for your time spent. Grinding is well and good, but given that you can't just import items from the original manamon, some of these things that are needed for transformation (yellow star, venomous lance)...well, it's going to take hours to grind them, playing a game I don't really want to play. By forcing the game to save every time you try and spin slots, you're disincentivizing playing this game and essentially telling us, if indirectly, that you do not value our time. That's awfully nervy when you're asking forty bucks American for the game in the first place. Would it have killed you to have left slots alone? I actually hoped for Eshkin to grow and develop throughout the game, not to be ruined by very shoddy writing. All of his character went down the drain in about two seconds. Really, really disappointing. Feels like I am playing a bad sci-fi novel now. I also thought that I had a decent team, but apparently that is not the case. That, or I have just stumbled on the area of the game which contains several types stacked up against me, as I have been able to take down bosses pretty consistently. That being said, I do need to grind a bit more, hoping to hit 45 before I continue with the story. I got the reward for finishing the coin quest. Does the metal work when anybody in the party holds it, or only when the wielder participates in a battle? I also feel like the script needs some heavy editing, especially around the master stadium battle. I don’t pick on grammar often, but Miss matching of tenses really breaks the immersion. Is there only one disk available to me by this point? I only found the hangman game, and I kind of want to find more. To clarify, I just picked up the rope. I am not too sure as to a good strategy for beating the desert dragon. Obviously, I did it, but I don’t know if that is the official way to do it. I basically confused it, waited until it tunneled, and then hit the quake machine twice so that it caused damage to The thing. Repeated until the dragon got pissed and smashed the machine to bits, and then took it out normally. A combination of Lunar Cannon and Wraith's Curse hits almost my entire team for super-effective damage, and sometimes he seems to get two attacks off (usually when he kills something). So, uh. Hard wall, and I don't really feel like grinding a new mon up to level 90-something. That amount of exp seems rather excessive, as well, given how high a level you probably have to be in order to stand a chance.Let me clarify something in a nonspoilery way though. I know that version 1.1 is out, and I heard someone say DiveBomb got nerfed, as well as certain bosses having their exp nerfed. This latter is probably a good thing overall. So, uh, did anything get improved? Like Hibernate, Full Moon Blessing, etc.? Or is it just nerfs incoming? Because if it's just nerfs I'm tempted to just keep using my current copy of the game to avoid them. haha.
