Actually, it looks like there is. If your the same Chris1997 on the raspi forums, you may want to check the [thread] again. One of the engineers and another fellow linked to a Febuary 7th blog post [here] where they talk about really looking into orca accessibility on Raspbian, and have included it by default now. Its not perfect, and Chromium doesn't quite support it yet, but version 80 comming out will and you can install firefox instead.

I kick myself in the tail almost every single time now when UAC does pop up on win 10 because I think back to all the times I had it off using vista and 7 and all the trouble I probably could have saved myself.I'll tell you when UAC is annoying to some degree, and that would be when you're installing everything on your PC.  Those first few runs and restarts are likely to make you want to pull your hair out.  In the end though?  It's worth it!  UAC nowadays only pops up like once a week if that.

Keep in mind that the $999 price is not consumer-oriented, like, at all. CS departments in schools can/should be purchasing a few of these, probably in place of the Cosmo/other block-based programming toys. That being said, I second the sentiments of post 1. You get one hell of a package with this already, and to top that, and there are 19 instructional modules to boot.

Hi all, I have some great and interesting news for you all to hear about!An innovative new product was just launched to help blind people with learning to code, it's called code jumper, and here is my review/introduction to it.A jump on the road of codeby Rory MichieYesterday, I was kindly given the opportunity to see a groundbreaking new piece of technology that allows young blind students (from 7-11) to get to know coding in a tactile, sound-based environment, being able to master vital aspects of computer language, such as variables, itterations, loops, conditionals, procedures and more.I can safely say that, having already grasped the basics of coding, I was a little disappointed to know that it wouldn't be helping me -- but wait, my first thought came to an abrupt end, when I first tried it. How it worksCode jumper is, more or less, a bluetooth speaker. Most of the technological stuff is handled in a program for pc that you can download onto your computer which is simply named "code jumper" which remotely connects to the main device via bluetooth. There is a "play" (run) button, and a "stop" (or quit execution) button. The main hub of the code jumper sends signals to the computer so it knows what is happening to the main node and can act accordingly.On  the main bit, there are four headphone-like ports, which are called "threads". each thread is allocated to a group of up to 8 sounds.The things that you use to code are called "pods" and can be connected and manipulated to perform different functions.For example, the "play" pods allow a sound to be played, and the "loop" pods can be set and act as a mini hub, when connected to the main hub, they will do what is attached to them a select number of times. There are dials (or parameters) on all of the pods other than the main hub so that you can modify their functionality, and they all have different shapes so you know which one is which.There are also "variable" pods that you can connect into the other pods which allow you to use loops to add, subtract or randomize what goes on.For example you can connect a plus variable pod into a play pod's "speed" dial, because all the dials have ports for variable pods, and then have that play pod attached to a loop pod, which is attached to the main pod, set to go 3 times. then the loop pod will add a certain amount of speed to the play pod every time it itterates.It allows you to upload your own mp3 files if you don't feel like programming  "row your boat" or "twinkle twinkle little star", perhaps an explosion or weapon sound set would more suit your needs - fine, upload it using the app on the computer into one of the threads and you're all set to go!You can have multiple threads being used at once, for example, you could have people screaming on one thread, and a gun and battle ambience going on the other one.You can even use infinity pods to make a loop have infinite itteration! Of course, you have to press the stop button when you are finished otherwise it will run out of batteries.My thoughtsI would give code jumper a ten out of ten and wish I had it around to help me when I first started learning coding because I would have been able to start to get the nack of it around 15 times faster. Finally, now we can all see why tf scratch is so fun for sighties! And I assure you, you will not be disappointed.The only downside to the product is it's price. Without a disability fund, you would have to be earning a ton of pocketmoney, or have not bought anything in your life before, to be able to afford it. It comes around at a whapping $969 US, which is a small fortune for most people.So here are my thoughts, I'm going to divide it up into 3 categories. Usability, affordability and enjoyability. I would rate it an 8 for useability because it may take a little while to get used to all the weird shaped pods but with some help you could get the hang of it quite quickly.I would give it a 6 for affordability because, meh.And an 11 for enjoyability! It's very fun for young children, adaults and experienced programmers alike. Everyone can have a great time with it!This is a huge milestone in the blind world, because before now, we have not had many apps or resources that teach us coding in a comfortable and tactile environment that sighted people have been able to experience for a very long time now. It's very good to see  that we are also entering the playing field, which will increase our chances of employment when we are adults, and increase our happiness as a child, or probably a combination of both.It's been designed by a partnership of APH, microsoft, vision australia, RNIB, and CNIB and is being distributed internationally with help from humanware.I hope you find this information useful and I hope you consider jumping on the road of code, with code jumper!

The UP boost items are not bugged.They increase the maximum UP of a move as advertised. What they do not do is increase the number of remaining UP for the move. You'll have to heal your manamon to see the boost, but it does work.

Are there any major world events we should know about? Why do we evolve races?

meh, not going to try this until it progresses past the competition state of Swamp...   Or, establishes game modes to switch to where objectives and events can be done. Really now, 3-4 fps' and yet the zombie PVE game actually has competitive modes. Granted, I'm giving Ivan a pass here mostly because he recently got ownership of this and was focusing on making it playable from the lag issues.  However, I have no desire of playing loot farm simulator 2020. Already saw the extreme manifestation of this back during the Red Spot days that just made a game a chore to play, and even back in RTR when people use to collect items for hours on an empty map. (though hilarious when the guy with over 50k hp dies to the 2 newly spawned people).   But right, can we get options for running game modes like team death match, capture the flag, and whatever else pops in these days? Just let the winning team get a massive boost in funds or something if a shop is made. Get creative here.

@50,I've never used a standard account and don't have any plan to, but also understand the risks and don't go about whining and complaining that MS is evil and won't secure their systems.  That's on me and me alone.I've dealt with recycler, boot sector, Tunneling and other types of viruses, have killed a few different worms and trojans, and goodness only knows how many other types of weird malware beside.  I've never had reason to believe that was MS's fault, even if I couldn't figure out where or what on earth I got it from.  I managed to snag myself on a sendspace download link and still don't know precisely how the blazes the thing was infected, but I know it was as I ended up with ransomware on my PC.  I also went to a site I used for resources and ended up with some sort of malware that acted like a legit windows security alert system.  Had it not been for the way it was written and the misspelling issues?  I'd have been toasted by that one!

@15The issue is the immune system rejection.  The visual cortex is much more hostile than cochlear implants.  Cochlear implants are the Argus of the ear.  As soon as you go further in you're dealing with much smaller components and an overactive immune system that hates you.  In general, the brain slowly builds up scar tissue around the electrodes and you slowly lose signal fidelity.  I don't have references handy; it's been a long time since I went far down that rabbit hole.  Also, as far as I know you can't get them back out without causing brain damage.  I forget how they get them in, I want to say some sort of gun and a particularly undamaging shape, but once it's in it's in.Bone conducting headsets are great except that the audio fidelity isn't very good comparatively.  It's not what I'd want to use if the goal is throw as much bandwidth down the channel as possible.The EMS thing started as a discussion about how I thought it might be possible to use a Kinect and a glove with haptic feedback to make a 3D editor, but how the primary problem is that you can't feel surface gradients because that actually comes from forces on the hand itself.  So you could get a binary in/out field and a texture, but not a 30 degree slope to the right.  And then the discussion kinda snowballed into a "maybe it would be possible" direction at a table with myself and at least 2 people who know a lot about machine learning and a person with access to a hackerspace who had a friend who knows about EMS.  We landed on use machine learning to train a sleeve/harness on a per-individual basis with a webcam to resist your hand appropriately using your own muscles.  Nothing will come from it; the fidelity would still be too low, if it worked it'd feel odd as hell, "here, wear a billion electrodes" is always  a hard sell, and I don't have the time.  But it was an interesting discussion.

some other MUDs also have community RP events where characters gather in one place or roleplay as themselves and it is more about being involved with the world as a living breathing universe rather than just a place where adventurers go around killing things.Another thing I've seen MUDs do is have events where in-world actions of the players determine a future event. For example, in one game, there was a war started between pirates and ninjas. The players could fight mobs on either side and the first side to wrack up enough mob kills on their side determined what the next class would be. Other games sometimes would have RP events like mentioned above, and the devs would sit in as characters or counselors and fit future stuff that happened in the game based on what the heroes talked about in these meetings and such.You could also have global collection events. This would not be a competitive thing but rather could be something like you challenge the player base to grab a certain number of limited time drops and items and turn them in somewhere important, possibly for special currency or to push an event of some sort along where all the players' totals would work together towards a grand total. You could do this as just a global effort on the part of the adventurers or you could have multiplefactions or sides at work and have the players race to get enough points to one side. Whichever side gets the most will effect future game events.

Why hasn't any of the mods commented on this? I'm not sure of the current situation, but I think since they're all administrators they should be able to create a new room for this. As for the filter topics, I haven't come across it in punBB. I'm not sure if it could be coded in. Maybe it can. Yule just have to add it as an extension, however we'd still need access to the client, to upload it to the surver. DAMN IT ALL!

@14Tissue scarring over time is something i've heard happen, especially with earlier cochlear implants. The bigger concern from people i've talked with is what happens if a newer/better version becomes available, but due to tissue entanglement you can't remove or upgrade such an implant? Some of the BCI stuff i've also dug into isn't much further along, well other then Elon Musks Neurolink. The more promising one though was a new portable MEG quantum headset with machine learning for decoding human thought.With the vOICe, part of it can be perceptual tuning, where an individual can learn to block out or subconciously read some sounds over others, much like listening to a particular conversation in a crowded room, though the hardware can also be turned on/off much like a blink reflex or pulsed on demand. There's a few things i've been looking into lately in regards to cognitive processing and varying sensory modes with this, like depthmapping, thermal imaging, faster rendering optimizations, there's no reason the vOICe has to be limited to visual light afterall, heh. Another thing to consider though is some people i've observed tend to use bone conducting headsets as opposed to headphones or earbuds when using their phones for example, as with bone conduction their ears are unobstructed so they can still hear whats around them more easily.Hm. In what context is the haptics being used for making up the lack of force feedback? Or specifically, whats the use case? I've seen a few haptic experiments around, one was a sleeve worn over the arm that encoded text as haptic signals that people could feel. The idea of converting text into haptic Morse Code is also another idea floated around, which would be alot cheaper to implement than braille.

In the playthroughs that Nyanchan does, he uses Aquestalk which as far as I know, can't be purchased anymore. Pro Talker is good for NVDA, though, and it works with 2019.2. I don't think it works with 2019.3.1 yet, but it will once the developer of that add-on releases a new version if he does.

@13I've been following the visual prosthesis field and IMO the main problem is that brain implants as a whole aren't scalable as of yet.  I think we're almost at the point wheree that can finally go nonlinear like computers did, but there's still too many problems with i.e. immune system rejection.  In the end I think that decoding/encoding the signals is a smaller problem in the sense that once an implant is in, the implant can be used to get readings to build transcoding off of, but we can't put an implant in for more than a couple years before it's useless.  The optic nerve/artificial retina ones can only go so far, at least in my opinion, and I don't think the economic will will stay there anyway once going to the visual cortex becomes feasible.The VOICe is interesting, but impractical in my opinion, because you have to block out sounds around you to use it.  I have wanted to play with a Brainport, however, and at some point I might go jump through the 2 or 3 medical hoops to demo one.  I believe there's a place in Seattle (where I live) that has them.You're talking to someone who because reasons has friends who know about things like electrical muscle stimulation with access to hackerspaces.  We had a serious-ish discussion about using that to make up for the lack of force feedback with haptics, that is to say using your own muscles to provide the missing force.  I still think that might actually be practical, but then I doubt anyone wants to wear a shirt with sleeves that's filled with electrodes and which makes weird buzzing sensations the entire time it's being used, but it was still an interesting idea and I still kind of want to make it.

The vOICe, with some available training seems to do rather well, and its only until recently that decent enough smart glasses have been available to help make it more portable and usable in daily life. Its not necessarily something that may be for everyone, and the technology is constantly evolving, but there are cases where people have restored a sense of [depth perception] while using the vOICe. The interesting question is how to convey or develop these subtle cognitive reflexes, through the subconcious mind? Or perhaps with a particular kind of cognitive training?On a side note, there is my AudiMesh3D tool, which uses depthmaps where closer pixels are brighter/louder, and further ones are darker/quieter. Unfortunately it currently only works in an Orthogonal mode rather than a Perspective mode, so the typical further away/smaller effect one would expect in 3D isn't present.

Hello everyone! I put my computer to sleep, then when i came back, microsoft demanded that I set up windows helo and some other things. I clicked let's go. I entered my log in info, but they said something wwas wrong with my account. Changed my account password, did what they asked for, and now I can't even access my desk top. I can access google crome via the start menu, but I can't get to my desktop apps! I wanna try blood bath! Please help me!Also this isn't satire.

generally, unless you are battling, there is no point to feeding them. Unlike in some other games, they won't get sick or die if you don't feed them. The only reason a pet would need to be fed is that they need to be fed to battle. You can also feed them foods because there are achievements for feeding pets a wide variety of foods. For example, when you feed a pet 100 different types of food, you can go to their page and click the number next to food eaten and get an achievement. (there are a lot of achievements based on that both before and after 100)

some other MUDs also have community RP events where characters gather in one place or roleplay as themselves and it is more about being involved with the world as a living breathing universe rather than just a place where adventurers go around killing things.Another thing I've seen MUDs do is have events where in-world actions of the players determine a future event. For example, in one game, there was a war started between pirates and ninjas. The players could fight mobs on either side and the first side to wrack up enough mob kills on their side determined what the next class would be. Other games sometimes would have RP events like mentioned above, and the devs would sit in as characters or counselors and fit future stuff that happened in the game based on what the heroes talked about in these meetings and such.

You know what amazes me about so many here saying UAC is annoying and refusing to run as standard user...These same people will turn around and complain that Windows is insecure because Microsoft can't get their act together. As @46 said, UAC is akin to sudo on Linux and no one's complaining about that (in fact, it's one of the reasons Linux is generally seen as more secure than Windows.) If you run as root on Linux it won't take long for people on forums to laugh at you.But this culture that we have in Windows doesn't help security at all. Microsoft gives us standard user accounts...we all run admin accounts. Microsoft gives us UAC...we all turn it off. Then we say Microsoft needs to secure their OS. It's something that's never made sense to me about Windows users. If you don't want to deal with UAC, at least run a standard user account. But the amount of people who aren't even aware that standard accounts exist on Windows blows my mind.

The most difficult thing for me is naming pets. Every idea I have has been taken. LOL.Is there any quick way to feed all your pets at once? That seems to take the longest time, getting them to fully fed.
