As it turns out, all 3 of the names I tried to come up with were taken. I didn't know this, because Google didn't tell me. All they did was ban me and told me I violated their TOS. How was I supposed to know that I was taking a name someone else was using? I'd like to point out that I posted about this on Facebook. Someone actually called me out by telling me that I should have Googled the names I chose before picking them, or in their words, I should have "Done my due diligence because it was in the terms of service I agreed to". Before anyone here on the forum does that, allow me to make a couple points:1: A lot of services, including GMail which is owned by the same company that made YouTube, inform you that a name is taken if you try to make an account. They don't allow you to create the account, then ban you a few hours later. Why is YouTube any different? If their algorithms are so amazing as they claim they are, then why can't they put me on hold so to speak while they search their database, then allow me to have access to or delete my account when they find out whether or not the name is taken. Alternatively, they could just put me in an account name field and tell me to change it without deleting my account. In the meantime, they can disallow me from posting videos or getting subscribers or even the link to my channel while they're searching their database. Anything is better than suspending me, creating a record for me in their people to look out for list, and making me look like the villain in the story. After all, God forbid I try to come up with anything that's funny or creative in my eyes, right?2: For those of you who would tell me that I should have Googled my future channel name to see if anyone else was using it, can you seriously tell me that you came up with your channel name, then thought, "Oh, I should go look up this channel name on Google."? If you did, good for you, have a cookie. Most people like myself wouldn't think to do this, because once again, most of us expect Google to tell us that a name is taken instead of allowing us to make our accounts and banning us a few hours later.I'm really not trying to harm anyone. All I'm trying to do is make a channel where I can play games and share my enjoyment/laughter with the community, as well as take their suggestions on the ways that I can improve my content. Is that really too much to ask for?

So I fired up the game, hit o to auto-explore. I'd get messages that enemies appeared, but tab didn't do anything. Does tabbing automatically fight, or do I have to tab and then hit some other key? I was a bit unclear on that. I'll read through the manual and do my own homework and all, I just wanted to do a quick run-through, i.e. die as soon as possible, just to get a quick feel for the game on the most basic level. I assume I'll love it, but I figure this way I can try to get a bit of a handle and get interested in it and want to dive into all the complicated stuff.

I'll take a crack at some of these:1: why fighting and insect can hit shadow.Shadow is not the same as ghost. Shadow is the same thing basically as dark in Pokemon. That is to say, dark (of heart), or evil. Not ghostly. Standard and fighting can't hit ghost, because you can't reach out and punch or kick or grab and throw a ghost. That said, a lot of other types wouldn't be able to hit ghosts from a purely logical standpoint, but that would make ghost way too powerful from a game design prospective if the better half of the other types couldn't permeate it.2: why magic did not effect undeadThis I don't know. If there's logic to this someone with more familiarity with such topics as mythology could probably answer this more accurately than I can.3: why stone can hit air?If you were trying to survive in the woods and didn't have a gun or a bow, what other implement might you use to shoot down a bird for your meal? How about a slingshot? What kind of projectile might you shoot from a slingshot? A stone, most likely. Also, have you ever heard the saying kill two birds with one stone?4: why insect can hurt magic?Not sure on this one. However, despite the size and perceived insignificance of insects, they can do some pretty surprising things. Plus, any decision involving magic is somewhat arbitrary due to their being, ya know, no real world logic based precedent.5: why poison can hurt shadow?If you were evil, would that make you immune to poison?6: why magic can hurt electric?Because the power of magic is objectively superior to the power of electricity.7: why steel can hit magic?Not sure. Again, perhaps a mythology based answer exists. More generally, too many immunities would create a seriously imbalanced gameplay experience.and the final question: what atack sounds in manamon 1 that you like?The soundscape whilst standing next to the cliffs on San Cott beach. The relaxing strings, ocean waves and seagulls make for a fantastic backdrop given what's going on plot wise at that stage of the game.

what you can do is, create maps with some tricky curves, add objects like vehicles, and people moving around and add colision feature. don't apply the top speed 3 concepts, instead of moving our truck in our right or left ear, make radar beeps which will indicate things like, you have avoided the opsticle, you are about to crash, if you need any suggestions or help from me, you just need to give me a shout out, usually we stay on similar games.

@Nuno, that is looking a lot better, though it might be helpful if you could include download links for the various programs you mention, or perhaps even stick them on a folder in dropbox since it seems a lot  of different components are needed, and those  aren't' always easy to find. I would also suggest perhaps giving an example of one of the chinese games such as 1942, along with download information and suggesting where people can download that in the guide itself, rather the way that the JGT guide gives some download links for some of the more common Japanese titles.When this is done, put the guide in the articles room where it will be visible to all, and then it will be easier for everyone to test out the chinese titles you mention and thus easier to add them to the db.

Hi, all,On a completely different angle from all the copyright business I've been carrying on about lately, here's something different.Sometimes, housecleaning can be a weird, gross or even alarming prospect, particularly if the house is old, or if certain areas aren't as well tended as others. So, in the interest of peculiar stories and such, I ask you: what is the grossest or strangest thing you've encountered while cleaning your house?I'll start.Trigger warning: this is really, really nasty, or at least it was for me, and probably will be for some of you. And it just happened, so to be quite honest I'm still a bit weirded out over this.A couple of days ago, I started noticing a weird smell around my bathroom and bedroom. My bathroom window was wide open, so at first I thought the smell must bec coming in from outside. I am not a slob, but I'm not an absolute neatnik either. I thought the chances of finding out that the smell was coming from inside my own home were quite low.Well, today I went into my bedroom to open the windows. It's warm outside and I wanted the breeze. While crossing to the far corner of my room, I noticed that the smell got worse, and I knew then what the likely cause was.I got a pair of rubber gloves and one of those little pooper-scooper bags (I keep a bunch handy, they're useful for cat litter), and tracked the bad smell to behind a wall-unit, where I found a dead mouse. I'd found one dead mouse the year before - my cat brought it straight to me like it was a toy - and that was plenty freaky enough. This one had obviously been dead for a bit, because the smell, once I moved the wall-unit, was pretty ripe. Wearing gloves, I bagged it, but just as I was grabbing it, the fucking thing burst. I don't know if maybe I squeezed it with my gloved fingertips or something, or if it had been there long enough for gases to build up, but suffice it to say that I was mortified. I almost threw up right there. Thankfully, nothing got on my skin or anything. I dumped what was in the bag down my toilet, flushed it twice, put the bag into another pooper-scooper bag, tied it shut, threw it away, cleaned my toilet, and took my trash out. Then I cleaned the ever-loving  hell out of the carpet back behind the wall-unit and used a little carpet freshener. The smell is gone, the mouse is gone, all trace of it seems gone, but ugh. My skin is still crawling.

ok here's my long, detailed opinion.I don't know!I mean, I've never seen them used in a battle, so I'd have to experience them being used to see if they are or not. and if they are, I mean what can you do about it? well um, you could contact pragma but yeah anyway. the cause your target to bleed cards are overpowered. Oh and the cards that use blood. I mean, just because they are powerful doesn't mean I'd report them because you'd have to build the target's bleeding cards up and you'd know the tactic before they can be used and hopefuly do something about it, but I'm not reporting that because it's too powerful, am I? There are probably other as powerful, if not even more, cards. oh, and also, mind posting what they do next time?

well, missions to get stuff from one place to another, perhaps?refueling your truck every once in a while. don't make it run out of diesel fuel like every 5 minutes, that's gonna s-not rock.If you want the player to have some choice, have the ability to turn back around. so say I just finished getting diesel fuel from eh, a gas station. (I did really quick research and most of the information I found was vaig so it might not even be sold in gas stations ) and I move on. so say my truck is almost out of fuel again, because I went afk for like an hour or something and left it on, so I could turn back, go get diesel fuel again, and go back to where I was going.Hmm. That's enough. lol most of this stuff is probably not going to be implemented bebcause they're gonna be hard to code or something, but meh, still sending them anyway

@brian in order to record audio and the game at the same time you would need to buy a mixer or use a software audio routing program like vb cable or virtual audio cable. But you could record the game then record a separate track with your commentary over it. TO do so with audacity:1. Go to the preferences dialog in audacity with ctrl-p, and in the treeview of preference categories, click the device option and then tab to the host field and choose windows wasapi from that list. Then press enter to close the dialog. Open the transport menu with alt-r then click rescan audio devices.To record the game track, press shift-I from the main window and you will open a combo box with input devices. You will see a list of output device loopbacks such as speaker/headphones loopback. Pick the one that corresponds to your output device and press enter. Open the transport menu again, and under transport options, ensure the software playthrough is unchecked, and overdub is checked.Press r to begin recording. Play through your game, it will get all your computer audio. When you are finished, alt tab back to audacity then press the spacebar. You can check the status bar and it will just give you the sample rate of 44100 if it's not recording.To record your commentary:press home to go back to the beginning of the recording. No. I'm saying it uses hundreds of pirated assets. I have no way of knowing how many sound effects are pirated. I can tell you that all of the battle themes in battle mode are pirated, however, as I have experienced some of them myself and have heard others in playthroughs. Note for note. These are not available in sound libraries, to my knowledge, as they're the property of Nintendo or Gamefreak or whoever precisely holds that.

I'm just playing the devil's advocate for a bit... As far as sound design, how do you know that all of the Pokémon sounds used in crazy party are... Exclusive, per say? For all we know, they could have been bought from a audio library... A blind legend is a example of this, just to give you a hint, the sword sounds... from a sound library. Manamon, another exacple. Sounds are coming from a sound library, fabee not all of the sounds, however its fair to say quite a few do.  So I ask again, how do you know for sure that the sounds are original, exclusive for Pokémon, and not that they come from a sound library? Have any of you considered this? Are there games out there that have exclusive, go-out-there-and-record-your-own-sounds-and-then-edit-them, approach? Heck yes. However in most cases, far as i've seen, sounds come from sound libraries.Speaking of cp, the sound you hear when junking and drawing cards? Same sounds heard in quentencie's playroom. Does this mean, that the playroom is also using pirated assets, or that said sounds where actually from a sound library? Just some food for thought. You say all the sounds are pirated? Assuming this is true, in that case, quentencies playroom would be using pirated assets given the card sounds are the same as those in cp. That, or said sounds are actually sounds found in sound libraries.

I'm just playing the devil's advocate for a bit... As far as sound design, how do you know that all of the Pokémon sounds used in crazy party are... Exclusive, per say? For all we know, they could have been bought from a audio library... A blind legend is a example of this, just to give you a hint, the sword sounds... from a sound library. Manamon, another exacple. Sounds are coming from a sound library, fabee not all of the sounds, however its fair to say quite a few do.  So I ask again, how do you know for sure that the sounds are original, exclusive for Pokémon, and not that they come from a sound library? Have any of you considered this? Are there games out there that have exclusive, go-out-there-and-record-your-own-sounds-and-then-edit-them, approach? Heck yes. However in most cases, far as i've seen, sounds come from sound libraries.

Actually, regarding Microgames, I have heard that name in one other game. Warioware. I recall Warioware incorperated being the game I played, but I think the concept is what the warioware series is built on. I don't know if the concept is the same in Crazy Party, though.

I know I wrote this in another thread but whatever, heh. The team that I end up using is erroir, martiagle, guerrerrol, fiendour, enchandithol, and eksponge. The only things that will give you problems with this team are misses at really dumb times, also enchandithol and fiendour are slow, so you can count on them going second and taking at least one hit just about every time at higher levels. And by dumb misses I mean something like guerrerrol going against some ice type. Guerrerrol will outspeed them all. If power kick lands, that's a one hit kill for you. Piss easy. If you miss it, you could end up blowing lots of money on healing herbs and status curing potions just to keep up with all the damage you shouldn't even be taking.

So, I've been monitoring this entire topic, and am not going to get too heavily involved in this since I have better things to do than to waste my time arguing copyright law back in fourth. Post 136 definitely covered most of my issues with 135; however, one issue stuck out to me in particular -- the concept/impression that I received from 135 that implied that code theft is bad because the authors put in dedicated work to make something a reality and therefore its bad; whether money is involved or not is irrelevant. The problem, of course, is that sound designers put in a lot of effort into making good, high-quality sounds, and tend to spend hundreds to thousands of dollars on sound design libraries, VSTs, etc. Therefore, both are equally bad and should be treated the exact same way, irrespective of what product it happens in, or what product it happens to. And though 135 partially covered that, I just thought I might point that out. I'm going to hang back and monitor this topic now; Jayde has pretty much said things far better than I could have.

You can't refer to his "oh-so-beloved crapware" and call him a "racist fuck" and get away with it.End moderationI have never yet tried a Chinese audiogame, but the above post actually looks fairly thorough and a lot better explained than previously. For the record, I have no problem whatsoever with the concept of Chinese audiogames, or games from anywhere else for that matter, but the harder they are to get running and the finickier they are to play, update or interact with, the less likely we'll be to want to mess around with them. Hopefully this installation guide helps get rid of some of that discomfort.I, too, used to think that Japanese games were way too much trouble to bother with, but it's not that bad. If Chinese games are roughly in a similar ballpark, then it will be nice to see where things go from here.

I think that most of the crafting shop stuff should cost a lot more resources than it does maybe klike, 10 times as much. As it is you can play for like 5 minutes grabbing items and make almost everything there is to make which makes the long term feeling of the shop kind of sad. Some other items ideas:Skinning knife: costs 8 metal. If you can make animals generate corpses on death you can make it so that you can skin the animals to get hides which will let you make:Hide Armor: Stitch together several hides to make a piece of hide armor that will absorb some amount of damage from an animal attack. It wouldn't be complete protection from the attack. After the armor takes too much damage it is destroyed so you have to make more.Skinning knives have a chance to break each time you attempt to skin an animal.Trap: Since the animals move in a very predictable way, you could craft traps on a square using some rope, which could be made by combining 15-20 grass into a rope, and some wood for a sort of stake, and maybe metal for a blade if you want it to do dmg. At least it could pin the animal in place for a few seconds maybe?Arrows: Your bow seems to have unlimited ammunition right now so it is obvious that we need to be able to make arrows. If you were to use the arrows on a fire, it could make fire arrows, that do less damage but cause some residual damage over time effect on animals it hits.Shovel: costs 12 metal. Use this to dig for rocks during downtimes. You can throw rocks at animals to do some damage to them

Hay Paul, I was just coding more of the battle system when I thought of a small edition; or more like alteration; to multihit attacks.When creating them, it'd be nice if the creater had the choice to add in optional sounds for the other hits of the move.In my project I have a move called surfe that hits all enemies for 26 force damage.Now, on the coding end, everything works swimmingly; if you'll pardon my bad pun, but the sound for the attack is quite long; about 4 seconds or 3 if it misses, but it'd work just a bit better if I had the ability to add in other sounds that would play on the second, third fourth targets of the move that were shorter; about one and a half seconds, so the move would finish out just a little quicker.I think that's all the suggestions I can give for this alpha build.Can't wait for the update tomorrow so I can start coding maps and story!One slightly odd question, if I can't finish my project in time to make a recording of me playing through it, would you like me to zip it up and send it to you so you can; at the vary least; see what I was able to do?Later!

New tip: Do not underestimate orc mines! 7 orc priests, 2 orc high priests can demolish a character in like 10 turns. Though i could use brothers in arms but still, ouch. I did orc mines 1, it felt rather okay to tab through it, then huge orc priest swarm, smitesmitesmite, low hitpoint warning, read scroll of teleportation, heal wounds, die because high priests smite damn hard. Sigh.  Hubris is a downfall of many of my dcss chars.

I wonder if a mod to turn the map into a grid would help in turning the game fully accessible. I haven't played the game for 20 years, but I am pretty sure there were hot keys  to select the buildings to build, or when a building was selected to start training units. A coordinate based grid with some commands to quickly change the coordinates might work.I have been thinking about this same thing for Roller Coaster Tycoon. I wonder if the developers of OpenRCT2 can implement something like this, as I am pretty sure the Roller Coaster Tycoon games already had a grid for building stuff. One problem there would be the third dimension, height, as there can be hills. Perhaps they could just create a plain map without any hills for  testing.

Again, voice acting you say? One free non Japanese game that does voice acting well? I could think only of the blind swordsman, but that again doesn't come anywhere near the size of Shadow rine. Even Manamon rather does the story in textual form to avoid even more costs of hiring actors to do the job. I'm not even sure what your point is, since yes, Japanese games do have a different standard. Look at Planet saga, it's just a concept demo and yet we have nothing like it. We all know that the BK series is pretty much the best sidescroller we have. This includes free and paid, and now if we limit it to just free games, we better not even talk about it. This team looks ok to me. My ice type is the mythical, which is  basically a fast-moving ice tank;all-around good stats and ice moves only with bite and magic lights for backup. I’m using Zeognioss as my holy screen; he gets both screens plus white lance so very useful to have around. Enchantithol is my magic type; good moves, below average speed, low defense, high magic defense. I caught an in-game Dormoinoid to use in the game; not a very impressive move set and terrible speed but good stats otherwise. I just swapped him out for a Tigrath I caught on the way to the last city. Then i have the grass and gifting type for plant and fighting coverage, and the giant electric frog for water and electric. That’s my team now, anyway. It changes somewhat depending on my mood.

It's not the best idea to have two of the same type, being Leonatar and Pandourbit. Just go with one or the other.Martiagle is seriously good (although I never set up with Hone Blades even though I know that I should), but Fly is a really good move to have in your arsenal.Right now I'm trying to capture Talabus (I'm still over 10 levels lower than him, and the grind just isn't fun). But yeah, my team is basically that with Guererrol and Leonatar, with Deciced being replaced by Frenrir.

Right. There is one thing that the Japanese devs might have more of, and that's resources. I would add Time, but that one I am far less certain on. Resources are one of those pools, though that can't just be easily obtained. If they could, we'd all be wealthy. That being said, resources aren't everything here. Using a good work ethic, something anyone can get more or less, learn the requesite skills to produce sounds. Utilize free sound sources that have licenses to legally allow you to use those sounds. Actually, if you are doing a free game, that expands your resource pool to Non-comercial based license like CC-by-NC. There are ways to do things so long as you pay attention and are creative.

If it was just the sound design, we could talk, but Japanese games are better at practicly everything, and if you don't want to accept that it's your choice, but anyone who seriously plays audiogames will say this as a fact. Again, voice acting you say? One free non Japanese game that does voice acting well? I could think only of the blind swordsman, but that again doesn't come anywhere near the size of Shadow rine. Even Manamon rather does the story in textual form to avoid even more costs of hiring actors to do the job. I'm not even sure what your point is, since yes, Japanese games do have a different standard. Look at Planet saga, it's just a concept demo and yet we have nothing like it. We all know that the BK series is pretty much the best sidescroller we have. This includes free and paid, and now if we limit it to just free games, we better not even talk about it. Whether our developers can or can't do better is not something I can answer, but I can answer that they currently don't. Again, my question is simple, point to non Japanese games that are free, have some good replay value  or come close to the size of CP and meet your legal sounds requirements. Even Super Liam, Judgment day, all of these have been paid at their time. Surely if you can't find one non Japanese game, they do have a different standard we aren't even close to yet? Now whether we as a community are used to accepting average games, hell yes. Is CP an average game? Most certainly no. It's in the category of top free games for sure. You are playing only one mode of CP actively, since as you said yourself you  don't like minigames that much, and I do respect that, but you have to understand that CP is 2 and a half games in one. On one side you have the battle mode you know, on the other a list of over 200 minigames you can play, and on the third side a list of about 50 micro games. If you think all these ideas are just stolen from others, you are really wrong. Taking the battle mode for example, the only thing that is stolen here are the Pokemon attack names. The concept is different from anything else. Yes, it can remind us of Pokemon or other card battling games, but it is most certainly not the same and cards as well as the whole battle system just works on it's own. Many ideas, especially recently have been contributed by the community and it is far from copy pasting ideas. Same goes for minigames. The concept borrows quite a lot from Mario party, but again, you have a lot of unique games which either Pragma or the community came up with. Micro games as far as I know is something unique to Crazy party and isn't an idea from anywhere, but perhaps I am wrong. In one of your previous posts it sounded like your impression is that Pragma only coded the game, just copying ideas the same way it worked for the sounds, nevermind that the sounds weren't just copied into the game either. Not entirely sure what your huge issue with CP all of a sudden is other than the sounds, but there are some facts to clear this up. It only conveniently happens to work that the only games that come anywhere close to this and are free come from Japan. I never meant to make any racist comment, it would be silly since I'm not even from Japan, but as I said this was always the case that the best audiogames come from there. I would personally say that the only reason Pragma can keep CP free is due to not having any sound costs associated with the game. Is this perfect and should this always be the case? Most certainly no. However, are we stealing anything from the artists who created all this work? That's yet again a no. We aren't making any money, nor is Pragma, and they are or were paid regardless of what happens with CP. The point would be much different if the game was paid. You  would have every right to argue that we are indirectly stealing money from the companies who created the sounds. You have also previously mentioned and compared how comes that our community jumps when we see code stealing, but this type of sound stealing is perfectly ok. This really should not need explaining again, but the code is being stolen from people who devote their time, their limited free time to making an audiogame. They aren't being paid at all, usually their income from the game  is 0 dollars. All they have is their code, and stealing their work in this case, being that we are primarily a site supporting audiogame developers should really be treated the same as sharing audiogame cracks. Stealing sounds isn't  okay either, I can only accept it in the case of CP because of the reasons already outlined above. It is a huge company that doesn't lose anything if one tiny audiogame for 200 players suddenly starts using their assets. I would argue that if Jayde was to create a game, and the game would be paid 10 dollars, suddenly it gets cracked, your loss would be a lot larger, perhaps making you never want

I just love the amount of crazy things that can happen.  For instance, I just died due to having no real choice other than to read unidentified scrolls, imolating the creatures around me and being finished off by an unexpectedly exploding bat.  Now if I had fire resist, that wouldn't be an issue, and I see how a scroll like that can be super useful in groups.
