If you'd read the posts and done your research you'd know that Vatsim is a client that allows people to turn a flight simulator into a multi person experience that aims to be as realistic as possible with real people doing the air traffic control, and you fly with other people online. I'd encourage you to look at our little comunity, because yes, this is a very doable hobby. It'll become even more so when the new microsoft flight sim 2020 gets released, so yeah. Like Warriors of Might and Magic meets MK: Mythologies: Sub-Zero? It felt more like a Pacman-themed funhouse or Nickelodeon game-show. There's a hard-to-describe but significant difference between the experience of playing a top-down maze and a first-person maze, which Pacman Talks drives all the way home. I don't see a good way to make a top-down maze experience like Pacman in Audio, though. You must be able to review a large area simultaneously, which is an inherently visual feat (a tactile version would be better than audio by far, assuming it's not one of those single-touch excuses for tactile, but instant-refresh multi-line Braille displays remain elusive). I've experienced something similar lately with firefox where the download would just stop.Pressing enter on the file being downloaded however would resume the download, but sometimes it would keep stalling.I'm not sure how you would resume a download in chrome, because the download window is a bit different, but in firefox, it's just a list where you can arrow to the file that failed, press enter on it and for the most part, the download picks up where it left off. So, a few things not directly related to mod stuff.Representing the blind communityThe reason people say this is because some sighted folks have a tendency to see a certain behaviour and then make stupid assumptions. If they saw one blind person stumbling around uncertain of where they were going, they might assume that all of them will have that problem. If they see one person who's doing really well with a dog, they may assume dogs are best for everyone, when that's not the case. As such, there is an increased pressure in some circles to do what you can not to fumble or make yourself look bad, because some will misread this and as a consequence other blind people will look bad. I think it's about 85% bullshit, honestly. I try hard to represent myself well, and I definitely don't want to contribute to people making assumptions...but the assumptions are theirs, not mine. I think it's very important to educate the ignorant where possible.Regarding roads, I am very, very confused. The reason Americans (and Canadians) use blocks is because...that's kind of how roads work in most places. Roads are by no means always straight, and blocks are by no means always the same size, but especially in cities and towns, streets tend to meet one another roughly at right angles a lot of the time. Depending on the width of the street, this will mean traffic lights. Traffic lights allow you to hear traffic patterns, and thus judge when it's safe to cross the street. I'll say right now that there are some roads which are quiet enough that you can just dash across wherever you please, but if you try that on your average city street - in Canada, in America, in England too, because yes I've been there - you're going to end up roadkill. If you aren't crossing at a corner, and if traffic is going more than about twenty kilometres an hour, it's going to have a lot of trouble slamming on the brakes and stopping in the middle of the street while you nip across the road. I drop an awful lot of warnings for personal attacks. A lot of personal attacks are down to bullying. Do you remember how loudly I defended Haily, just as one specific example? Do you remember that I was the one who proposed a way to let people like rory get officially banned without being punished in the first place? I'd appreciate it if you were to focus on the whole picture, and not just the bits that serve your purpose. I say this because, while I think you've got some good points, I also think you're misrepresenting the situation.I am not at all opposed to having another mod or two on the team to help out. As far as time zones go, I'm all over the place, but frankly I don't care where a mod is from so long as they are good at what they do, and relatively impartial in the bargain. But did you see that bit where I mentioned I have been having hell trying to get through to the list? Right now, that's our primary method of address. We've talked about changing that, but it never really got off the ground. That's on us as a team. What I'm left with, unfortunately, is a situation where I'd love to change a bunch of things, but cannot do it on my own. I can't just say, "Okay, I'm tossing the mod application open for two weeks, everyone get your applications in". That said, I'm not in a vulnerable population at the moment, though I may be working with one by the time the vaccine comes out. I will absolutely maintain other practices, however, since if I'm not going to jump on the vaccine at the first opportunity, I need to do my part to make sure others don't get sick from me, and to keep myself safe in the bargain. In any case, I won't refuse the vaccine forever. Anti-vax is, at best, paranoid, and at worst it's just getting people killed. Most anti-vax advocates rely on questionable anecdotal evidence to support their stances, and it just doesn't stand up to rigorous testing and logic most of the time. I personally can't imagine, however, a world where I not only ignore health and safety guidelines, but also ignore a vaccine. I'd expect my friends and family to tell me that I was practically begging to get sick or hurt somebody, and I'd have no defense for that line of attack. When I'd be on tour performing with the band I worked with, then I'd just go with them and it would be an awesome time. If I hadn't gotten married, I'd probably still be there with my folks, running my music business right from where I grew up. When my family and I are in Vermont for shows now, my mom and dad still help by taking us to the shows, we help out around the house when they need it. I wasn't what one would call the most successful musician, but I did achieve a lot, and toured from the New England states all the way west to states like California, Washington, Oregon, and so on. I followed that recent threat where he was being made fun of. I would love to be able to say that I couldn't believe some of what I saw there and in other threads where he has been mocked. The trouble is that none of it shocks me in the least any more. That boy hasn't had it easy from the sound of it, and goodness only know what the remarks he has seen might have done now. I can agree with you, Brad, when you say that, at least as far as America goes, the blind community really isn't a community in the true sense of the word. It isn't. Some of the nastiest things I think I've ever seen posted anywhere have come from other blind people, and I mean downright hurtful at times. Then we sometimes wonder why sighted folks refer to folks like us as whiny and demanding. Sure, not all blind people are like that, but when all a person has dealt with were ones that were as I just described, then that's not going to leave a good impression at all. The fact of the matter is that these were actually well-established companies (Royal Philips Electronics, BeVocal, Loquendo, SVox, L, Eloquent Technologies, you name it). All the companies they have acquired through shady manipulation. The literal only reason why Nuance has not taken over the tts market entirely is because they have Google and Amazon/Ivona as actual legitimate competition. They might even risk losing a foothold or two in some first world markets if Apple manages to in-house major languages, which they are slowly but surely working on doing. IT doesn't make Nuance any less of a thieving conglomerate, they're just no longer center stage because Google has tens times the amount of compute power that even Nuance could think of having to generate frighteningly realistic speech. To my knowledge there's audiogames.net, Twitter/facebook, insert-blindness-org-mailing-list-here, and that's it for global communities. Everything else is local, and the blindness org lists are kind of like political parties.It's probably mostly nostalgia speaking, but it feels a lot like blind people have turned inward in the last 10 years. Being as I can think of lots of explanations for that there's some truth in it. That is the game that includes hyper sf2 and third strike. It also included street fighter 2 the animated movie, not that bad live action one. That that was a pretty neat bonus as well. I just wish that 30th anniversary collection included a couple more games like sfa3 upper and sfa3 gold, or at least kept the definitive versions of the alpha games over the older ones if there had to be only 12, but it's ok for what it does. Hi.I'm disgusted by some people on this forum.Rory asked for help so he could get banned, he gets banned after people shit all over him for basicly admiting, hey, I have a problem and need to fix it and here's how I can do it.Then after rory gets banned, a poster makes a post mocking rory for being banned and nothing is done about it, I hope the mods step in soon because this shouldn't be allowed. The only still maintained Eloquence for Linux is Voxin, and even that was never made for Arm because it was based off of the Wizard Software Viavoice distribution. Either way, they're freaking Nuance. After acquiring numerous speech companies through pretty shady hostile takeover tactics that nearly put them under antitrust investigation, the last thing they are going to do is let go of something they own. It takes a lot of resources to actively support it, but they can hold on to the trademark for all its worth.
