I don't think you're supposed to translate the variable names, just the text that they refer to.And, what you will be doing is phonetically rendering Chinese with the English character set. At least, that's my best guess as to how to get this into something like a very very alpha state of playability. I think the ini file tells you what you can safely modify and what you should leave alone? I'll look at that here and report back once I've done some messing around with things. Like #2, by my first computer science class I understood enough languages to work out an alternative solution where I'd learn _javascript_ from lessons that the teacher copypasted from the internet (I don't know if she understood enough to actually teach it if she needed too to be honest) and submit alternative versions of the assignments everyone else did on Scratch. But Scratch was used for most assignments in the class, to the point where even all the sighted kids started to get pissed off because they didn't like it and wanted to learn real programming after a while, not play around with virtual blocks. She didn't come back the next semester, but they hired her again the next year and I got her for another class. But then Covid happened so it wasn't as bad as it could've been, not as much of a waste of time. Re: soundpack for the mud Geas you know, it's funny you say that because I personally think that Geas has so much potential if it only had more of a player base. Quite frankly, the last time I was there it was very very dead and that is such a shame honestly. The combat is wonderful and very realistic to the point of being able to cut off the heads of your enemies if you're good enough in your chosen weapons or other abilities, and you can even craft to a limited degree. Not nearly to the level of something like clokmud or accursed lands or one of those, but still, the potential is there. Ah well, if noone has enough information to get me a soundpack, that's more than okay because I have clokmud and accursed lands with clockmud being right up there at the very top of my list of favorite muds. Code Jumper might be targeted for a younger audience, but it might be worth looking into as it's a tactile and accessible version of the blocks thing as far as I can tell. Swift Playgrounds requires an iPad, but is a great way to learn coding in a more fun and gamified environment. Hope one of these is helpful. Re: Discussion of the 2020 American Federal Election Why hold Trump accountable for things that he didn't do? He didn't assault woman, he is not a racist, and he is not a dictator. If he was, I personally would never have voted him in. Quite honestly, the only reason I voted him was that I saw he had something resembling a plan that actually would mean attempting to take care of Americans first and foremost--all well and good since he is the president of the United States and that should be his top priority. I will say also that I thought, in all honesty, that Trump as president was a bad joke at first and originally wanted nothing to do with him. One thing I do not like about him is the arrogance that he tends to display at times. Now, that having been said, I wonder what would happen if Biden was elected and he told some other world leader he was meeting with to "shut up" when he didn't agree with that leader. Or, what would happen if Biden started name-calling like he did with Trump, and as he has with our military when he called them bastards, and there is video on that? I'll not have someone as our president who would disrespect our military that way, especially in the position of Commander In Chief. Another thing with Biden that I saw in that debate is this. He said he doesn't support the Green New Deal, but his website clearly states the fact that he does support it. He also would not answer the first question in that debate, and that's got a lot of people, and I don't just mean Trump supporters, curious. All of that has been invented, and 6 months later someone else invents a way around it.An EMP is the part that knocks our tech back to radio or worse. Probably worse. If you had one that could reliably knock out all the nukes, it would cover the entire planet. Countries don't just have their nukes sitting in one convenient place. You can't develop targeted EMP because physics, anyway, but if you could, we don't know where all the nukes are. And if we did, it would have to go through tons and tons of shielding and rock and stuff as well. Because there's still biological weapons, which are in no way electronic. And modern nukes make the ones we used on Japan look like sparklers. So if you miss even one...I didn't say World War III wasn't possible, I said it would basically kill the planet. It's possible. Really, really hard to contrive, the kind of thing that we'd probably all be working toward for 10 or 20 years. But possible, yes.World War III because we somehow disabled the really dangerous weapons, though, that's not possible. Physics doesn't allow for it. You don't necessarily need electronics to build a nuke, for example. You just need electronics to be able to set it off from a distance, and maybe someone sufficiently clever could do it with clockwork or a fuse. World War II had human-guided missiles, as in you got in the thing, you were locked in so you couldn't get back out, and then it was fired at the enemy, time to serve your country and die with honor. If we did that then, we'd just do it again if we had to. You can't necessarily get intercontinental range on such things, but you can totally throw someone inside it for guidance if you don't mind them dying, and you can totally do the rest with pre-electronics tech, once you know the underlying principles of how that kind of thing works. And that's before you get into more evil things like making someone sick with a biological plague of some sort without telling them, then sending them on an all-expenses paid vacation to insert-enemy-nation or something. Fortunately we haven't had that one, yet. No one's had a bad enough war to start playing tricks like that since the technology for it has existed.Humans are really really good at killing people. The world isn't really that resilient, when it comes to keeping us alive. I've given thought to what it would take to effectively end humanity's technological age. I think it could be done for half a trillion dollars total, and that price is rapidly falling. It's actually hard to kill off all of humanity, but it's really not very hard at all to bring civilization down. Ironcross, please don't try and deflect this by claiming you only hate leftists; we know Biden is not a leftist, has no history of colluding with leftists and is not going to do anything close to what, say, Bernie Sanders would have tried to do. If you are voting to keep Biden out of office, then you are voting against a centrist because you can't abide him.2. He thinks things like improved health care, inclusive policy, proper taxation of the rich and police reform are less palatable than continued aggression, racism, bigotry, public tirades, "fake news", tweet-storms and risks to public safety. Let that sink in for a second. He would rather see more of Trump than any of the good things I just mentioned.3. He believes that virtually any offense committed by Trump is tolerable so long as it stops a centrist democrat from improving health care, taxing the rich and doing his best at healing the country. Insult other countries? No problem. Assault women? No problem. Tens of thousands of lies? No problem. Pandemic mishandling on an epic scale? No problem. When you first raised objections about Trump, I respected that, and said so. It's refreshing to see someone willing to criticize their own. But when you essentially said that there's almost nothing Trump can do to overturn your support...that's where you lost me, and in this arena at least, lost all of my respect. If Biden wins, and turns the country into a shit-show that's even worse than it is right now - not likely, but it's possible - then I would condemn the guy, and unless the republican incumbent was scarily worse, I'd probably just stand back, or if Biden was bad enough, would encourage people to vote independent en masse to fuck the two-party system.Now, to flip this on its ear for a sec, because I know there's someone out there who has thought of this question:Yes, there are things Trump could do which would make me hate him less, although the things he'd have to do actually win my support are numerous and simply not going to happen.
