In keeping with the trend, my new PC.

Hello all. Everyone has been doing it so I suppose I should also. So, I got a Lenovo T430, with an intel I-7, 3520-M, at 2.9GHZ. It has a 4GB ram upgrade, bumping total system ram to 8gb, and a 128SSD, however, I'm planning to get a harddrive caddy, and putting one in the WAN slot, so I can have a total of 3 SSD's. Cost? Well, it was 300 USD. There was a 250TT Dollar upgrade so I can increase the RAM, which, I paid for. And I'm loving it so far. Its so much better than my old Ideapad, however I'm missing the ability to totally disable the brightness like on that. Anyone know how I can do so? NVDA dark curtin doesn't disable it totally, only blacks out the screen. But what do you think? Good buy? I think it is, its much better value for money than the fuckin 700$ 4GB ram, I-3 crap they have selling at major stores. !Average CPU load 6.2%, Core 1: 0%, Core 2: 0%, Core 3: 0%, Core 4: 25%.

Ah yes, the glorious education system of this country that was inherited from your country's education system.I got a new PC, yesterday, and I'm loving it. Its seriously a step above my past one, and I only spent 300 USD on it. Christmas was nice, I spent most of it eating blackcake, which Isn't racist, at all.  I'm also excited cuz we're going to start coding in school come Tuesday, but in Pascal sadly. But hey, its coding in school still, right? And lastly, this year I'm suposed to pick my field of study for the next 4 years, so that's interesting. I'll have to keep my grades up in order to be chosen to my class of choice, because its a merit system. For example, if you pick sciences, your marks in science and math must be high, like 9-0 and up, else you risk having someone else with a higher score boot you further down the list. I hope everyone is good, its January, which is the only time of year when its fuckin cold in this place, it was like 18C last night, and 15, yeah, 15, the night before.

@Ghost,May I remind you that @MinionSlayer's particular CPU is a U series, which means its designed for more low power and efficient usage. So if you ask me its a bit unfair of you to evaluate the entire company based on just one model, and a model designed for low power efficient operations mind you. I can't remember of hand, but its like 15 watts or something of the sort.@MS, as you saw above, your CPU is designed for low power use. Now, is it a bad CPU? Possibly in the grand scheme of things it may be out performed by other chips, however its doing what it was designed for. Not to be a calculatory graphic rendering bad ass. But to give you an example, when Lenovo switched to the U's with the T-4490, my current PC could just about out pase any ThinkPad up on til about the 470 or so. But again, its apples to oranges. You can't compare the enginge in a Toyota aqua with the enginge in a Toyota Crown. @Patryk, must you be such an asshole all the time?@Brad, unless you're actually gonna use your pc for heavy stuff like gaming, video editting, etc, 8GB seems like a reasonable and affordable price. I'd also like to remind you PC makers still sell low end pc's, because not everyone has a thousand dollars to blow on high end thinkpads or pervillions. As of now, my ram use is pretty low, but I only have this opened atm. Physical: 2.53 GB of 7.69 GB used (32.9%). Virtual: 2.53 GB of 8.87 GB used (28.6%).And to be frank, its a bit high. !

Sinphonid is a great insect type, if I had to rank, it will be number 1. Even though Bombusect can beat it, but it is better over all. It is able to cover holy, fighting, rock, ice, shadow, undead, magic, and plant. It is able to cover 8 elements that is pretty cool. I wonder, what is it stats level at 100? I have never trained one till level 100, so I don't know much even though I have used it in my complete play through.

What, a Symphonid? Absolutely. How else would I know if it's good or not? I'm the guy who sort of tore this game apart (well, I'm one of the people who did this), and found out a great deal about the game, the manamon, the mechanics and all the rest. I care deeply about strategy and viability, and I've got literally two decades of experience. So what I'm saying is, there is no way I would hear about a manamon and decide it was one of my favourites. My favourites are, pretty much without exception, those which work.

Yeah, I actually don't know why he used Kwargs. I might actually open a PR fixing that. You can give Python default values for variables, and AFAIK the code checks for the type before using them. Either way, I can probably fix that, without breaking everything, as I think Python let's you provide variable names when providing parameters even without using Kwargs.

Yeah it's not a huge thing. I did start working on a class for the announce state. I decided to do it properly because I can pass in the controller index into the constructor so it will handle multiple controllers. But then I have to figure out a way to be able to pull the values off the event queue into the class to set the variables. I want to compare current vs. old to get a difference value.

download the total commander, you have to look for a specific folder of there, i do not know what is it called, but you can enter the system folder, with limited limited options so your best bet is to search the whole system folder and see where the media is located.

If you recorded that using something like virtual audio cable, it's a software problem.  Otherwise check to make sure the volume in Windows is set to something reasonable and that there's not a gain control or something on the sound card.  Then, go on Amazon and get a $10 USB audio dongle.  See if that fixes it.  if that does, use the dongle instead of your built-in audio device.

If your program is too small to deserve not using globals, if you are going to finish this then never touch it again, then just use globals.  Doing class-level variables that get changed by classmethods doesn't help you because they're globals, you've just put a little bit of code on them so that you can pretend they're not and feel good about it.I suspect what you want is a singleton.  To do that, make a class like you're going to make an instance, then make an instance of that class and use it as the global.  It's not as good as not having globals, but it's better than making everything a global.There is a difference between a script and a program.  A script does one thing and is effectively write only.  You are talking about this like it's a script.  Scripts don't deserve being clean code.  You finish them, they're small, they're done forever, it doesn't matter.  If that's the case, wait for a bigger project in which to learn about modularity and avoidance of globals.

I'm also in agreement that the topic is a bit unnecessary, but will contribute my own experiences anyway.I know I'm not the best in minigame competitions, but I'm generally pretty good. One time I was on a server in competition mode(this was before the central server iirc) and I kept winning the games. I wasn't trying to brag and show off, hell I was just either really lucky or in good form or whatever. After winning about 3 or 4 consecutive games, I was kicked off the server. I could blame many things, perhaps bad Internet on the host's part, or maybe I was at the wrong place at the wrong time, or whatever. But still, it made me more self-conscious than I already am. Even now when I do come on a server, I often see my score being above my rivals. Thank goodness that's not always the case, in fact when I see someone is neck in neck with me or has actually beaten me, it makes me feel good in a way because at least I'm not being singled out as that one guy everybody hates for being too good.There is a game or two which I strongly consider not playing if they come up in competition, because I always seem to be better than everyone else. While I've never actually gone through with losing points on purpose, I've offered once or twice to do it.Making a giant snowball and musical flowers are the two games which come to mind at the moment; I'm pretty sure nobody has made it to 10 before I get to 20 on those. Of course, next time I play I'll probably be creamed on one or both, but hey, that would bring me relief.Come to think of it, making a giant snowball could be cheated pretty easily though, so I'm surprised nobody has accused me of cheating yet. Math games fall into that same category too, where I usually score pretty high but anyone could score highly by cheating. I don't always do amazingly well at the math games, but 7 out of 10 times I do, and 1 out of those 10 times I will be accused of cheating. At one stage I considered recording myself playing the games with my mic open, to prove that I don't cheat. But then I thought that people will believe what they want to believe, so it's best not to try to convince them. So the only ones who would benefit from such a recording are the curious.In conclusion, I'm not here to show off because I think I'm better than everyone else. That's not me. I'm just relaying my experience. For me, it's largely a  feeling of "Yeah I'm good, but I kinda wish I wasn't sometimes because it's awkward." Fortunately it's never been enough to get someone to ragequit, apart from that time I mentioned where I was kicked off a server for winning too much, but still.

So a question from someone who's been following this thread on and off and is interested in playing the game but unsure of how frustrating it will be.In your opinion's how usable is this game by the totally blind, relatively advanced level screen reader user, and beyond that, how much enjoyment can be gotten out of it VS the level of work to play.Compared to a sighted user, how much am I actually missing, and am I able to complete 100% of the game's content at this time.A simple score out of 10 or 100 or what ever will do.

My idea of a difficult boss isn't a boss or even a manamon. It's a move. That move is berserk call. Though it checks in at 70 accuracy, it hardly ever seems to miss when the computer uses it. There's no way to stop it or get out of it other than to die or end the fight quickly. The best, really the only way to beat this move is to use a mon that hits hard and is fast. Don't even give the computer any chances to use this move.

For AMD I meant that it uses more advanced technology, and has a much better price to performance ratio, the current 5000 series processors absolutely rock, if reviews are to be believed. Brad, let me explain. A baseline means  a starting lowest score. So the desktop eighth gen i3 is used as the worst possible starting score for the geekbench benchmark. All other processors are scored based on the i3, on how better they are to it. Hope that makes sense.

Consider the following scenario.You drop a blind and a sighted person directly in the center of a desert. The ground is the same in all directions for 3 miles, while there is a way out in one direction. The sighted person could possibly see the way out and go out before dieing from heatstroke. The blind person would likely be dead of heatstroke as there would be nothing to orient to.

Buffered I/O is something else to do with making sure that the disk isn't asked to perform a bunch of small reads.  I will not be getting into partial decoding of buffers and then the rest magically appears because no one else does this and you really, truly can't do it reliably. I can identify at least 2 sure-fire wins and potentially 2 more wins that I can probably code in a Saturday, and 1 more potential win after that that will take a bit longer.  If it's still somehow too slow after all of that, I will revisit the situation.

buffering is the key here. MP3 decodes fine if you're buffering in parallel to playing. When decoding the entire file before even returning to the main loop however, MP3 tends to be very slow compared to OGG or OPUS, not to speak about the lossless formats. You're currently decoding the entire file when loading it, thats why it really takes some time to load things up. Games like Manamon with about 250 to 300 MB raw sound files encoded in MP3 might actually take quite a while (i'd guess 15 to 20 seconds) to decode, especially if we're talking about hundreds of files instead of just 10 here. Thats what makes OGG IMHO better than MP3 for games, although the decoder speed might be kinda comparable, the encoder speed is just messed up in MP3, that thing takes ages, due to not being properly multithreaded at all.

First, thank you so much for putting in the work to create this game, as with all the others you have made. As for coordinates, I am firvantly against this idea without a toggle. I do not easily understand spatial concepts and while I can locate words and make new ones off of them via connections, if I actually had to understand the location of the squares to play, I would be doomed. I actually think, in this regard, I have the ability to play something digitally which would confuse me no end with a physical board, because I can look at the words without really comprehending the wheres.

True. It's not uncommon for a character to just leave at some point simply because their work is done, then perhaps rejoin later, again for a brief period. Final Fantasy is known for this. But I like the idea of what you suggested Paul. Aside from Fergus the Leprechaun, "Fergus Ferguson at yer service," there are a few other party members who aren't strictly speaking main characters but who might fight in battle. My main character, Luke, for example, has a feline companion who's sort of a combination of a pet and a familiar. Of course the way she would work in my example might be beyond the scope of what Sable can do, at least in its current form. But Misty wouldn't actually be a controllable character the way Luke or Samantha would, but would instead be sort of like Interceptor in Final Fantasy VI, where as long as Luke was in your party there would be the chance that Misty the Werecat might block and then counter any attack directed at Luke.

@347Yeah this is an almost-bug.  Wave files should be almost as fast as your disk can read data.  It should be like 10 seconds at most, single-threaded. I will find/make a test corpus and look into this once I bring other projects to rest.  I suspect there's going to be some easy win somewhere that makes this way better.

@JaseKay, Yeah, I am aware that skill checks etc do take a lot of back end coding. It is possible, when you look at something like flexible survival, which is scarily unique given it's x rated premise, but you'd need to be pretty dedicated to do it, and as you said player management is fun. If it were me, I'd probably just circumvent a lot of the major book adaptation problems by setting the game either in a different time period or place to the main potter series, EG Hogwarts in the twenty twenties rather than the nineties, or maybe somewhere like a modern dermstrang (which also has the advantage of having really huge grounds full of dark creatures), the way that some Lotr muds work.Or, just straight off saying that it was an alternative version of the world, which is what I believe some Wheel of time and Pern based muds have done. Either way, unless someone has a solid year or so to dedicate to coding such a thing and then a way of hosting it, and then some admins who are willing to run it, this is probably a mostly academic discussion anyway.Pottermore I didn't think was a game so much as an informationnal website with a few miniigames stuck on the top, though as I only ever browsed articles from them I can't say exactly.

Dusk cloud analysation is basically like a tutorial activity for space, since it's approximately the same process as for things like debris collection, just without ratica to worry about, as dealing with ratica is almost a separate minigame in itself, and one you'll need to try before orbit harvesting. Btw, if you want a really cool activity, I can highly recommend pollution reparation which is like three or four different activities in one, takes concentration, and is a lot of fun to do, also, unlike things like hand mining, hunting or mechanical mining, it won't be made obsolete in short order.

@jack, assuming my information is correct, mobile speak activations are actually tied to the devices in question, so you can't just go giving them to other people, unfortunately. This would probably prohibit it's use in a Rom as well.Something interesting though, it says on their website that mobile speak can still be obtained through local distributors, and to contact them for details. I've done just that this morning, so we'll just have to see what happens.

I should be able to handle multiple controllers as things stand right now, because each one gets its own index which I pass to functions that will use it.I just don't see the point in all that. It seems silly to me to go through all that just to use one thing one time. The announce thing will only ever be used once. It's not a game where you make classes for weapons, then a subclass for melee weapons, a sibling for projectile, etc. That makes sense to me. You'll want multiple guns, multiple knives and swords, and the ability to spawn them at any time. But for the announce thing, IDK it just doesn't make sense to me to make a full on class then instantiate an object for something you only use once.

You could probably just click on Add in the list, and browse to the sound you want. I think internal sounds are protected though, so you may want to try getting it online, or rooting to get access to it.

@13That feels like extra typing, and you don't get much that using a module doesn't already give you.Why not instantiate the classes somewhere? A nice little application.py module should do it, then you can keep all your instantiated whatnots in there. That way, if for some reason (multiple controllers in your case maybe?) you can simply create a new instance.

Some guy  named dart openned a 76k battle party like 10 minutes ago and we started playing.  He had a shitty deck for such hp battle, and i stoll his cards, and this happennedDart has left the party.i'd say be careful playing with the guylawllist any rage quitters you encounterr so they can be avoided and ceriously this game should prevent alt f4 from being using or bots should replace the ragequitters

Hi,Sorry for the slightly late reply. I’ll answer the questions below:@pates, sorry I think I misunderstood your original question in post 137. But yes, you could already in Sable set an npc to join you after completing a certain quest for them. If you wanted completing a quest to add a totally different npc to  your party, although there’s not a specific option for this, you could do it through in game mechanics/story.  As an example you could have an NPC set you a quest, once complete they say something like I think my son would be interested in joining your party. You then have his son on a map somewhere , you have an event trigger set on the son to join your party, but lock off the event trigger so its only accessible after you complete the quest for the first NPC , that way you can only get the son to join your party by completing the quest for his father and the father mentions about the son joining your party. Hope that makes sense.-    @Brian P. pleased to hear you enjoyed reading through the Sable change logs. Regarding your question about non active party members. This would definitely be possible, the easiest and simplest  solution is to allow you to have as many party members in your group as you like, but as a creator you could decide the maximum amount of people allowed in a battle at any one time. So although you might have say 6 party members, you might set it so only four would be allowed to battle, there would then be an option (both whilst inside a battle and outside of battle too) to switch out a character for another one. This is how final fantasy deals with this (or at least it did up until final fantasy x, but I haven’t played any past that). the alternative is like you said the hero’s call  option of having to drop off and change active party  members at a specific location somewhere on your maps/game world. Out of curiosity which option would people most prefer? As a separate item, it’s worth being aware I do intend to add an event trigger to have a party member leave your party completely, this could be handy if you want for example a party member to permanently die  as part of the storyline, although I appreciate that’s a fairly morbid example! I was stress-testing, with the idea that conceivably, loading all the sounds for a given level might be time-costly.The directory I was testing with is 1.3G of wave files, so intentionally stupidly large. Fasted I decoded it in was 78 seconds.

I saw blind people who have enough money to leave, but they don't seem very happy. I think employment is the greatest way of integration there is. I know you didn't say blind people should not work at all, but retire at 30, but I feel this would have a demoralising effect. I mean, they would retire, of course, but then they won't hav something to do. Considering that that accessibility came from a jaws script, this isn't a regression on vs, it did not have that in the first place. It is true that 2019 has latency issues with NVDA after a while, but, since jaws does not have them, I think these are NVDA issues, not vs issues.About other IDE's... android studio become accessible. I know from a friend that support was added in intelliJ idea too, and, I suppose, all their other IDE's. I will have to agree about win10 modern apps. Those completely escaped my mind. IN my view, they are designed for tablets, and inefficient to use on computers.Can't talk about mac. CodeBlocks was never too accessible, as far as I have been told. What other modern IDE's have you found inaccessible? A guy at an US university did a11y work on netbeans, I don't know how well that worked out.Well, lots of what I wrote above seems to be from rumours,  so yeah, I guess it could be that I have been fortunate  enough not to face many inaccessible software. IF yes, I agree. acessibility of mainstream math is horrible. MathPlayer has worked good for me, but the real probelm is lack of mathml/latex, in my view. People just put graphics on the web, and infty raeder is a joke. While in faculty, I had the fortune to have transcribing help for courses I couldn't get in latex, I see why this could be a problem. However, like I said, before blind people get to that, they have to  pass that lower level math, which needs either way above average memory, logic and imagination, or lots of work. Way more work than other subjects. At list that is how it is here, the curricula may be more relaxed in other countries.and, since I am at this subject, 161, I didn't think I said that the blind can't do math, it'd be strange to forget my own past.  What I said, and I stand by it, is that math is harder for the blind, and that's a major factor for the loewr percentage of blind people in STEM. Another factor is the way math is taught, your experience with your father being a very positive example, Not many teachers have that out of the box thinking, not even blind math teachers.I am basing my assertions of what I saw in my blind school, and what I have heard from other blind schools in the country.So, I tried not to generalize. @BlindNinja, sent you a PM.Well, finally got into spacing around and... I must admit, I felt a bit of letdown.  I did a lot of typing and feel liek I collected more benefits from autoharvesting volcanos than I did from dust clouds.  I'm gonna have to take a shot at this orbit stuff in a bit, but right now, methinks a much needed break is in order, given I've already done more than doubled my ranks in the past 24 hours.
