The main one in audiogame terms is  the audio first person adventure/action game Sarah from pcs games, which I believe is still on sale, and which is a huge hp nostalgia fest. There is then the text game hogwarts live, though imho that really suffers from basically being a very blatant mod of legend of the green dragon. There was then an old zcode text game written around the time goblet of fire came out (and no, it's not one of the x rated ones). I've also heard people have tried harry potter online, which I believe is like a forum based roleplaying chat with minigames, though how good or indeed how accessible that is I don't know. There may be others kicking around, but those are the ones I personally know about. Hth.

Okay I just had a perfect illustrative example of the occasional issue with cosmic rage's activities. The next activity on my list of things to try is gas harvesting. So I get the skill, have the upgrades loaded onto my ship, buy the cargo upgrades for my cargo drone, get those built and fly out to a planetoid. I spend ten odd minutes finding a planetoid field, then have to look through 10 planetoids to find one with gas I can harvest. I fly to the planetoid, type r-gas, harvest three units and poof! my gas props break. I try again, two units and poof! they break again! I ask on the newbie channel,  and someone  informs me that I need gas propeller armour upgrades as well! So not only have I spent a significantly long time setting up an activity, then going out to where I could do it, then finding it's essentially yet another carbon copy of asteroid harvesting, planetoid harvesting and trash cleansing, basically find a celestial object that fits certain requirements, typing some variant of "harvest", then sitting around and waiting a long while, just occasionally having to type repair, but I can't even do! the activity because it turns out the requirements listed in the help file neglect to mention that the equipment is made of glass! Not to mention that at this stage I am rather sceptical that when I do! go and get the wherewithal to harvest gas, it will actually be worth anything, albeit I'll give it a try anyway since when I said I want to try everything in the game I wasn't joking .Now it wasn't a total right off, since I have my planetoid grabber with me, can do some core and ice collection, and cleanse those polluted planetoids of that oh so valuable trash, plus harvest minerals for the very littel good they will do, however it is situations like this I'm afraid which I do find somewhat frustrating in the game! especially when compared to how fun other activities are.

It depends upon your opinion really. myself, my taste runs more towards the romantic and modern period, so I've more been a fan of the likes of Rimski corsicof, Mezauksi, Rakmanainof, Chostakovich, Mendelson and Holst, with the occasional lapse into baroque when I want something a bit more structured. Btw, apologies for mangled spelling.Classical period I tend to prefer to sing rather than hear, albeit I do like the odd bit of Beahtoven, though usually his later work.For opera, I tend to prefer the lighter stuff, Verdi Offenbach, and of course Gilbert and Sullivan, which I also sing myself, although I've done the odd bit of grand opera or German Lida.I also like several modern composers who have returned to a more classical mode, such as Debby Wiseman and Carl Jenkins, and of course lots of film score .

@Dardar, sounds very cool, I'll look forward to seeing what changes, indeed I'll try and tear myself away from erion long enough to give wanderer a bit of love and check the game out, since I have had a lot of fun with it over the past year or so.For sake of argument, speaking as someone who has tried most, if not all activities here are brief thoughts:Lower level crafting: These are really fun to do, but there is no mechanical reason to do them, could we please have some way of earning from our creations? EG selling to npcs, jobs to craft specific items etc.Ground combat: I love ground combat in the game and I confess the current system of ground combat just happening on one planet, with those bloody stun mechanics is really! annoying. Why don't we have more fights on other planets? Why can't we be jumped by reneigade Shalca on Navu, or some lirking Caitsa spies? Really with such a lot of awesome enemy races, and some wonderfully described worlds to explore, just having pretty much all ground combat tied to one planet and one set of missions is really a shame (even without those blasted stun mechanics). I'd love to see more missions and encounters else where.Air combat: Same again, fun to do, but why are they only in one place, one place which takes a hell of a long walk between accepting the mission and going to a completely different area.Ore extraction: I always love those activities that give you chance to doo ground combat elsewhere in the game, so would like to see this one updated to make the extraction process a bit more interactive rather than just having to type spelunk and wait. Volcano harvesting: Yee gods I've done a lot of this, since I've never got why it has no rank cap. But honestly, I mostly just watch a youtube vid or listen to some music and then just type whenever I hear the shift up or down sound. It's not quite as bad as some activities, but given it has no rank cap and how long people do it, perhaps some changes, updates, upgrades at higher levels and a bit more interaction might be fun. Rescuing: Finding people is cool, medical stuff is cool, but it would be nice if there was a bit more too this one to make you feel like your actually rescuing people from death, EG treating injuries in different ways once yu find people, or needing to brave water monsters, especially since it's got no rank cap and there is medical equipment in the game.Fishing: Imho one of the worst activities, just waiting around for stuff to happen, either needs a serious revamp or removing entirely. I also confess compared to Erion's really interesting fishing system this one suffers.Dredging: Again, just sitting in a boat retyping. Has potential for interacting with water depth, but unless it gets a serious rewrite, isn't much fun.Water rock analysation: Unless rock prospecting mechanics similar to hand mining, with you need to evaluate your finds come into play, I'm afraid I'm less sure of the point to this one. Water content  analysation: again, just sit in the water and type the same thing over and again. unless it's going to get a major rewrite similar to pollution cleaning, I don't entirely see the point in this one.Orbit harvesting: I partly agree with Connor's above thought that Orbit harvesting should be a bit more interactive, and maybe also doable at high levels, indeed I always wondered if the junk in orbit ended up in the upper atmosphere of pollution cleaning.Space dust analisation: As I said, I always got that this was more a practice for salvaging, so while it's not the worlds' most diverting activity, I do see why it's there, though perhaps tying it to an npc quest or the like to help new pilots find their space legs might be nice.Gem retrieval: Again, unless this one gets a major rewrite with some more interaction, I'm afraid I'm not sure of the point here, since we are once more just going to 3d coordinates and typing the same thing again, though possibly since this has no rank cap it might do with a rewrite. Mechanical mining: No need for a rewrite, but why the photon isn't this doable for longer? Rescuing: Finding people is cool, medical stuff is cool, but it would be nice if there was a bit more too this one to make you feel like your actually rescuing people from death, EG treating injuries in different ways once yu find people, or needing to brave water monsters, especially since it's got no rank cap and there is medical equipment in the game.Fishing: Imho one of the worst activities, just waiting around for stuff to happen, either needs a serious revamp or removing entirely. I also confess compared to Erion's really interesting fishing system this one suffers.Dredging: Again, just sitting in a boat retyping. Has potential for interacting with water depth, but unless it gets a serious rewrite, isn't much fun.Water rock analysation: Unless rock prospecting mechanics similar to hand mining, with you need to evaluate your finds come into play, I'm afraid I'm less sure of the point to this one. @Assault freak, oddly enough, remembering the mk games from the nineties, it was the very exaggerated overthetop nature of the gore which made the games less than possible to take seriously. For example in MK2, when jacks did his fatality where he'd pull off the opponent's arms, the opponent would just stand their, blood gouting from their sockets as the "jacks winss fatility" sign appeared. And don't forget Quon chi's fatality from deadly alliance where he would jump on his opponents' shoulders, and literally stretch their kneck until it was about six feet long, leaving them to stagger about like a chicken with their kneck bobbing, before collapsing to the floor. I'm not sure how things are now in MK (before Covid last year, I was going to get together with my brother and watch through all the mk11 story mode sequences, but you can see why that didn't happen), , but certainly in the past the games very much were like the Yakusa game you describe, which was one of the reasons the hysteria about mortal Kombat's violence always seemed rather silly to me.I'd also argue that there are occasions some degree of realism, or at least making people care and interact with other aspects of the world actually helps a lot. To take one example, Zelda 64 had a time cycle on the world map. During the day nothing so bad could happen, shops would be open and you could wander the land. During the night, the music would change the atmosphere alter, and out would come the monsters. Some locations you had to wait until a set time to enter, some places it was safer to cross at a given time of day. The cycles were only ten minutes or so, so no need to wait too long, but  I remember watching my brother play the game, and just how cool it was to see the sun set, night come and then suddenly get a few low level monsters stalking the landscape, it added a great deal to the games' atmosphere by simply making the world just that bit more interactable.This is the sort of thing I mean, stuff that doesn't necessarily try to emulate the real world, but just gives a bit more nuance to what is there.

no, unfortunately nvdaRemote doesn't support nat traversal. It relays on relay servers. I wrote an android client for it, so I am pretty sure about how it works. Now, that I think about it, this app might actually be useful for others, too. I remember developing for android when working on site, and I always had to change headphones from pc to phone and vice versa. The phone tts coming out through the pc would have helped me a lot. Now, that I work remotely, having the phone in the pc speakers would not be as useful, but still,   it would bring more clarity.  Also, at least 2 people asked me about remote controlling phone from pc, quite the reverse of my nvdaremote android client, narwhal. Paired with anydesk or team viewer, this app might help them, if those apps do send keystrokes from pc to phone.Latency is a problem. With an always-on connection, like plain socket or websocket, it might work. One could connect the phone directly via usb and create a network with the computer, I'm not sure if this is possible without enabling tethering though.@21: sorry, maybe my word choice wasn't adequate. I am not a native english speaker. Of course, the effort might be too high and Nuno might end disappointed at the end. It depends on what alternative projects he has

or translations can be done by having all the strings you need in a Json file and reading from it. That would make things so much easier. There are a lot of people that like games and if the game suits them they would want to translate it if they know both languages

I thought that NVDA remote supported NAT hole-punching, which can't be done via SSL or TCP, but maybe I'm wrong.Also I didn't say it was pointless, I said that the gain may not be commensurate with the effort.  No one else has said it's pointless either.  Translation is an interesting enough application, though for that I would probably just look into implementing a synth that translates directly on device rather than try to bridge it to the PC for that purpose.

How did you get Troopanum2 working on Win 10? I'm not even sure the unlocker runs for me but the games definitely don't. I even have keys for them but they probably wouldn't work because they're based on the computer, if I recall correctly. I could set up an XP virtual machine but I never get round to doing it, so I'd love to know how to get it working on 10, if it's possible.

Hi, I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm getting the orbit reader 20 plus and your thoughts.I'm probably going to leave NVDA on for a while but look forward to just reading at night with no sound apart from the braille display and any youtube videos I put on.I would get the 40 but it's not out yet and I don't want to wait cause of the virus and how unsure I am that it will even be made this year.But in the next couple of years? The instructions on the github page are in english, and the rucaptcha site can be translated with chrome. It worked well for me, but You can try to use instant translate for the things chrome missed.AS for the security of the site, I used it for 6 months without problems. I didn't give them my card number directly, of course. At payment, you are able to select the payment processor, an external service which handles the money. Even though i had to pay a 2% tax, I chose a service from the Netherlands I used previously, PayU.I don't know if it works on older NVDA. you'd have to ask the developer of the addon.Not trying to advertise those guys or anything, though. If you can find a service you find trustworthy, go for it.

yes, nvdaremote uses a custom protocol, not too complcated though. json messages sent via a ssl socket.And yes, you are going to have problems with indexing, i.e. letting the phone know when the pc has finished speaking, so it can send the next chunk of text. might not be a problem for short sentences, but will be an issue if spelling things or using say all. Otherwise, even though people other don't see the point in doing it, I say, if you feel you need it, do it. It's a good learning project, plus you'll be motivated.

It's actually been working pretty well for me. I'm a mage named bookrage. Thing is, a lot of time you have to alternate. For example, I can choose "bolt" from my quick spell menu, but the next turn I have to select it by clicking "spell" and then selecting "bolt" and I have to change my tack each round. the nnoying thing for me is I am fairly immobile and there are no shops or anything near me except for 1 blacksmith. warning: even though they will be listed as low levels, fallen have a lot of hp and can hit pretty hard if you're not careful. Also, bandits often have dogs helping them. also, not all creatures with the same name are the same level.

Text strings are a bit funny, if you use only a single backslash it interprets the line and the quote marks encapsulating it as a character symbol instead of an actual backslash text string. So putting two backslashes avoids that mischaracterisation.

Too much latency. Get a 2.4GHz wireless pair instead. And if you connect a bluetooth keyboard as well, that's even more bandwidth. In my experience, having two bluetooth devices connected to the same device is not a good experience when one of them is audio.

I'm the one who said C++ takes 3 years to master.  It is a pain until you're after a certain point, and it has only really become feasible to write software sanely in it in maybe the last 3-5 years, meaning that you've got 20 years of legacy to deal with and/or learn around.  I could write audiogames in C++ if I wanted, and it would be about as productive as using Python for me, but I've got a huge amount of experience with it plus the additional tooling that exists to make it sane and check your code for bugs.  Mind you productive and fun aren't the same thing, and I wouldn't actually do it.But this community isn't against learning.  It's against learning properly.  Lots of people are willing to learn, but only what they need to learn at exactly this second--then they wonder why their stuff doesn't work.  That comes with a lot of vulnerability to follow the leader, belief in memes, etc.  It also comes with choosing the wrong trade-offs.  Given the choice this community will always go for small executables, unable to reverse engineer, and fast over anything else like developer productivity and not crashing all the time.  As a consequence it's vulnerable to going down very interesting and bad rabbit holes.Also, purebasic is C with a different syntax, meaning that this community has already shown they're willing to take those trade-offs even though they don't make sense.  And Python is sort of halfway failing because everyone here wants simplifications rather than just using pygame or whatever directly, and most of the people who have tried to write those aren't experienced enough so they end up worse than using the thing it's supposed to provide a shortcut for.  That gives us a way to gain momentum when a bunch of newbie programmers inevitably give up and blame the tools rather than their level of knowledge.  There have been lots of cases where someone has done the "but drm" conversation and it's turned into "you kind of get this in C++ but not really" and then we've had to justify why using C++ is a terrible idea that will kill projects.Maybe it won't be C++ but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the possibility.

yeah, all /listexits does at the moment is tells you if you're near a border and how many steps away it is.wall notifications would be nice though they're not something I've needed, because as you said buildings are squares.navigating castles and forts is also easy because there are braziers to guide your path to all the important rooms.what did jump used to do and why was it more useful?  I only started playing after the big patch from last month.Harvesting trees does not in itself provide logs.  The point to harvesting trees is that harvesting lowers the durability of the tree far faster than actually attacking (at least with the crappy quality wooden axes and stats you start with.)  So you harvest twice (because a third time will completely destroy the tree,) then attack with the axe.  If the axe deals the killing blow, so to speak, you'll earn more logs than if if another weapon or your harvesting dealt the killing blow.  If you use discord, I highly recommend the game's Discord server.  Everyone is really friendly and you could speak to the developer directly about your suggestions.I'm also active on there and would be happy to help you out further as I could respond far quicker.The server's link is:https://discord.gg/FEp52yj

Hi! Taking that saveguarde.dat file, putting it in the beta 75 folder and running the game solved it for me. When i ran the game, i got a message that said my file had been converted to save.bin. So i can continue playing as normal now.

People play games to get an escape from the real world. The line is a fine one, but I'd say the developers are the ones who have ultimate say in terms of what a game should be like. Sure acknowledge fan requests and poles, but at the end of the day, if you're the one sinking time and money into a game, it's your game. Lovers gonna love and haters gona hate. But video games should, at least to my 90s and early 2000s gaming brain, be just games. They aren't supposed to be real life simulators. Even in a series like Yakuza where you can do so many mundain things like go eat, sing karaoke and dance, the amount of exaggeration is so commical that as real life as those things are, it's still obvious you're playing a game. Violence is another aspect where the line is a thin one, but some games try too hard. Mortal Kombat makes things as anatomically gory as possible, and that, in a way, is realism. Do those things to a body, and that's what will happen... though granted because it's mortal kombat, noone ever stays dead. Yet that never really grabs me. Contrast that again with Yakuza where you might break someone's back over a low wall and smash their face into the same wall, only to have 10 yen come flying out of their pockets and the at the end of the fight they bow, scrape and apologize for offending you and then just walk away. Both games are brutal, but where one tries to be physically accurate to the actual human body's response, the other is done because it knows it's a video game and doesn't shy away from the idea and can have a little fun with it at the expense of so-called realism. One of the reasons why I love Japanese developers like Sega, Capcom, Namko and SNK so much, because they make games. They make no bones about trying to make their mechanics realistic or emulate what the same thing would do in real life, even if there is accuracy in some other aspects. In Tekken, for example, martial arts are based on authentic styles and are so real that skilled martia artists can recreate Teken in real life. But nowhere ever in real life would you able to be able to keep another human body suspended in the air while you pound the snot out of them, nor will you ever fight giant robots or bears with just your unarmed martial arts skills. This comes through in sound design and music as well. Western philosophy says what sounds more real, and tries to score games like you would score a movie, with realistic sounding instruments. Asian games and movies don't care whether a punch or kick sounds real, only if it enhances the atmosphere or not. Same with music. Even modern Japanese RPGS will sometimes score their entire soundtrack with sounds that are so obviously synthesized yet still have charm because they are classics.Bottom line, I think when a game preoccupies itself with trying to e realistic and stops becoming a game, then it starts to cross the line. And like also has been said, I miss when a game th way you bought it on day 1 was the same game a year later, bugs, infinites and all.

@connor oh yes it's not when your around that rank, but by then you can do nebula harvesting for more than that if you spent a few hours or at least half an hour activelly collecting  bioplasma. I collect other gasses 2 since no use in wasting an intire nebula.
