It just asked to confirm by touch ID which I tried to cancel. Later, I installed an other free app which also required touch ID. I didn't thought about that also activated the in-app purchase in the game.You have to unlock the in-app purchase, which I also find weird. This will automatically unlock, and you'll be notified about it.If you don't wanna buy the game, then you can watch adds to double boost for a few hours.Sadly, I don't remember what I did to activate the in-app purchase, but I have to contact the developer about the issue that you don't have to confirm before you have to confirm by using touch ID.Having said that, I'll highly recommend the game. An inquiry about Mathematics courses and Braille This post is quite lengthy. Read from the bottom to see the questions if you're short on time.As I was glancing through this room, this topic drew my attention. I, too, have questions, though not precisely over Stats.Next year, I will most likely take Calculous BC. Essentially, it's a semester of Calc AB and then another of BC and AB combined. Don't ask me why or for what purpose... the point is that in order to actually receive college credit I have to take a test at the end of the year. The problem? The damn thing is timed (1 and a half extended time for me). Another problem? Braille. I looked up some calculous symbols, and the integral function came to mind. It looks harmless, just the contraction for "the" (dots 2 3 4 6), but it became downright horrid when superimposed on a rectangle (don't ask me what "superimposed" does to the function, that's how it was titled in the reference). The once harmless symbol somehow grew to span 5 Braille cells, and that is without considering the points in a graph because integrals can apparently go from 2 to 7 or something (don't rip on me for getting it wrong, this is what I recall from a conversation with my future to be Calc teacher). So, five Braille cells. I'm frankly scared to see the sheer stupidity of the equations including multiple functions. I thought Nemyth exponents and radicals were bad (I had a 4 line equation once), but this seems like it would blow those lines out of the water. Not only that, but I would have to write out free response questions, which again, I don't think I would have an issue solving, but I cannot imagine myself ever becoming proficient in the horror which is higher level Braille for math.Then, to compound the problem, I will be also taking Physics C, which from what I understand is a recap of Physics I (linear and rotational kinematics, energies, momentum, etc) and removing the constancy from said problems, I.e, a car accelerates with a varying rate in a given timeframe. It would no longer be V=V(0)t+1/2at^2 but something else which I do not yet know. In some retrospect, Physics is going to be a bit more harder do to introducing Greek letters into the mix, and it also brings up the point for notation. My notetaker does not have the slightest capability of typing 2 epsilon alpha theta... or any Greek letter, for that matter. I'm getting by right now do to me and my physics teacher agreeing on a specific code (I.e, A=alpha), but the problem is that College Board, the entity responsible for giving me the pass and a college credit, will mark such notations incorrect.I typically have a scribe for these types of tests, but said individual has never taken any of said classes beforehand. It would be unfair for me to fail if she doesn't know how to draw symbols, and we can't look stuff up because all of the technology must be off the internet. That, and I also have the issue of time, which gives me around 1 hour and 30 minutes for 6 Free Responses with A through I (it may vary slightly, but in general, some parts have subsections, I.e, C(I), D(II), and make up for the irregularity when you add them all up).My final dilemma regarding the courses is graphs and, yup, graphing. I am able to negotiate with my instructors the necessary flexibility (typically I just write out a description which includes key graph features such as asymptotes, intercepts, curves, etc)., but once again, I have no such leverage when it comes to the "standardized" (notice the sarcasm with the inclusion of quotes) tests. Again, I can ask my scribe to draw the pictures, but I can't guarantee their accuracy, labeling, or anything of the sort. Also, though I do have access to Brailling services, graph production is typically pretty slow and is generally not the top quality. The tone graphing mentioned in the topic I've linked to confuses the ever living hell out of me, and my notetaker's graphing works so well that it should be taken off the advertised list of features for its, ahem, clarity and ease of use.I'm almost done... almost. The main problem is the fact that, even if we somehow resolve the previous dilemmas, we still won't know until the test date how College Board does its tests. Yup. You read it right. There are no practice Braille materials, no list of generalized "here's what you can expect this to look like" statements, no info besides "You get Braille..." So, for instance, I am taking a Computer Science exam for college credit. Apart for having to read code in Braille and type it out on a notetaker which has a chance of crashing without a good reason (yes, it's the newest, and the greaters from Hims - Inc) I have no clew how it looks. Is it going to be contracted? Is it going to be indented? How are they going to separate lines greater than page length (It's Java, so it's very common to see this.someObscureName.someOtherThing(someUnknownParameters)). I wish there was a way to hide the sacii map, I have no use for it and it just reads that thing out every time I move, i wish I at least knew what the player's coordinates were but they don't show up on the status display or the % screen as far as I can see. That's because on the contorl+x sreen, you can see the monster's coordinates, like 0, 1, but I don't know the player's coordinates so I can't move into the monster's square to attack it. I really don't like the bottled relics, because I always get them at the wrong time. Enlightenment is amazing with that stuff as well, especially using demon form. I'm also a fan of the bite cards if I can get them (I am a little hesitant about the incense burner due to the fact that you have a burn card now), but that's why I also like the apparition cards. The deck I wish I cd get working is a losing health deck, using stuff like rupture to boost strength and bloodletting and other cards to do lots of damage. I mostly use it instead of telegram cause i don't like the earpeace auto play and auto record so i can turn them off in that. It also has other features that i like and it updates when telegram updates. It has adds on the top chat space but i hardly notice it cause of the way i read chats from center of the screen up. Aside from that, i like how it groups chats and stuff, and if you really wanna keep your account without an identity, you can sign in as a bot. It will still let you do telegrammy things, but no username or phone is linked to a bot account. Telegram on iOS is kinda bad though. Group management and continue and cancel buttons and many other things are not labled. Just yesterday, i was lableing what i could do to the image reck from voiceOver but it wasnt that grate. I do wish we could pass on button lables to other VoiceOver users though. anyways, Telegram on iOS is kinda weird but you can still do basic things like chatting and sending Voice Message to your already chatted with contacts and groups. The app used to be fully accessible back in late 2019 but dropped off way drastickly. Unigram for windows got updated with accessibility fix's not to long ago fixing allot of the weird junk text NVDA would report such as item list idk list or what ever it would say insted of contact names or file names or what have you. If you know that you are weak, and see an ogre, do not tab into it. Wait, check its coordinates, and when it is one space away from you but didn't hit you yet, hit it once. If you seem to do well, you can tab, but if you see that you are too injured. That's the sign that you fucked up big time. I specificaly set this message and tablock when you get below 50% hp, to have time for you to rethink your strategy. Two common methods which i use regularly are waiting on melee opponents to come to me because i don't want to tab into the unknown because... Well, if you get to orc mines or pandemonium you'll see. Orc mines is tough too but panlords are a mean bunch. I only tab if i know that i need to get to the enemy asap, for example to get magic users asap. The other strategy is think very early, which i should exercise more, i always get cocky when i'm strong and that is the demise of my strongest characters who got two or three runes. If you notice a very strong monster, who could cause you problems, and you have anything, for example a scroll of blinking, use it as soon as you see the monster, not when you are almost dead. Common early game threats include robin and his bunch of goblins, they're not that strong one at a time but can pack a punch if they hit you 5 at a time. Natasha, a mean little cat who has got three lives, some spells and a mean claw. Ogres, who hit realy realy hard for early game, i mean 30 dmg per hit or so if you are unarmored. Pack of gnolls, who can hit you from afar due to almost every one of them wielding polearms, and they hit hard in the early game, not that hard as an ogre but 15 20 dmg per hit. Sure you can kill one but what if five are behind it? I could go on with early threats but you get the picture i guess. Threats which you don't think are threats at all but they are very dangerous are the orc wizards. You can get confused and they can blast you from afar. I hate them. Getting more info is... They'll actively request records every few years and, if you don't provide them, they'll likely proactively request them from your bank. They also have access to tax returns, and proactively adjust benefits (and presumably make decisions on overpayments) based on that.To be clear, I'm not saying that gives someone latitude to do whatever. I'm saying, don't do whatever you think is right and expect SSA to correct your mistakes the next month. They'll catch up with you years later and, at least in my situation, they'll smack you with an overpayment judgment and not give a rat's ass that they're garnishing your SSI down from ~$700 to ~$500 even though you tell them that you don't currently have any income. Fortunately I'm lucky enough to have an incredibly detail-oriented sighted girlfriend who helped me track down hundreds of pages of paperwork, and with a file that was literally an inch thick I won my appeal and got that money back, but it took years of work and probably netted me a $5/hour rate to fix their mistake. And that's not even counting the few months of overpayment the SSA made even though I told them I had income and didn't qualify, then wanted to claw back 6 months later. Fortunately I still had that gig and was able to pay them back the $1300 without blinking, but IME SSI is a timebomb that will go off when you least expect if you have any income whatsoever, so dot your Is and cross your Ts. Jury's still out on SSDI, but thus far I've had it for 7 years and haven't had any issues. Even the social security workers I speak to are nicer to me about SSDI vs. SSI, which is all sorts of fucked up but I'll take it over the alternative.But, yeah. Just learn the rules, be aware of what you're spending, and that's good enough. Keep a ledger if you want to learn about accounting, have a complex business situation, or have issues with money. But don't do it just because some SSA functionary tells you to. Because, even if you kept a ledger, how would you know what is and what isn't problematic unless you've read SSA's policy manuals or website? Silly advice IMO. When I go to log into something, there's an "autofill with Bitwarden" thing that pops up, and I tap on that, authenticate with my fingerprint, and then I can tap on the item that holds my credentials. I remember installing telegram years back, and due to the whole facebook controversy that just entered this year, which really is them updating what they had been doing since approximately 2016, I decided to give telegrama go again. I most likely won't ditch whatsapp entirely, but many of my contacts are moving. So, I was really surprised. It has some cool features like putting your phone close to your face as if answering a call to record or hear a voice message, the windows integration with unigram is just very smooth, and the bots and all of the other utility you can really manage out of it. This being said, any thing you have found impossible to do so far yet? On ndroid everything seems to be pretty smooth with talkback, on windows I do have a bit of an annoying time with unigram and some pop up windows, but for the life of me I haven't figured still how to answer a telegram call on the phone lol. If you are fine dealing with this, as I am for the moment, Bitwarden on the actual functionality works perfecttly fine. It does offer you touch / face ID autofill on iOS, not sure about Android, but don't see why it wouldn't, and works just fine for free. I don't actually even remember what do you get in premium, since I didn't really have a need to pay myself. Unfortunately they're going to fight each other on this, and there's not much you can do but referee until they stop, but when I did this once it was established that the college wasn't going to pay for it they did. I know for a fact that DBS will cover them, or would as of 2014 or so. Much of how well or poorly DBS works is based off who your counselor is. The counselors have a lot of leeway with that one, but if you can establish a good relationship and/or show them that you'll be a promising student their resistance to things just melts away. I don't have hard confirmation on this, but in general they want to focus on people who they know they can close the case files of, which for DBS is something like you maintaining a job in your chosen field for 90 days.When you signed up for DBS, they should have given you a handbook in electronic format. You should get a new one of those every year or so, unless they changed the way they do things. If you don't have one, ask for a copy of your plan and see if you can get one out of them. The way blindness orgs work are bureaucracy to the max. That handbook should contain policies on readers, you can read them, if you can establish that you check all the boxes they have no real choice.There is an advantage to finding them through your college, even if the college isn't paying for them. Sometimes college can pull a student or something who can properly tutor the material out of their hat. I just keep track in my head of what I've spent and when the numbers on the app line up with what I think, I just let it go.When I did keep one, I made a spreadsheet with each column set to autoformat things to the way I wanted them. I hate check number, date, what it was for, a deposit column, a withdrawal column, and a running balance. Don't fill in a check number if it isn't a check, don't fill in both a deposit and withdrawal for the same item and it's good. I had another column that didn't go down the rows but was at the top of the sheet which was the total. It had formatting to turn red if it was in the negatives.I used it for a while but I just don't really need that type of thing in my life. I do just fine without it. I have overdrawn my account before though, maybe three times in my life, but you probably will too. For me, one time was my mom being overzealous when taking me college shopping and I wasn't really used to keeping track of funds yet. The other times were more down to me miscalculating than anything else. I have not done it in years though. But you do want to keep assets below $2000 or you might lose it, and there are workarounds to that if necessary.Second: As an adult, I have sent checks for only one bill ever. If you are blind, sending checks is a huge pain in the ass. Also, even sighted people don't use them anymore. I wouldn't worry about this until you actually have to send checks, and then only if you're not sending checks through your bank's app and/or if the app decides not to show them.Yes, you can send checks through your bank's app sometimes; they'll mail one on your behalf. Rocks can have it, water, fire, the sun, mountains, trees, bagpipes, and so on and so on. It's not about explaining something I don't understand, nor were other people's gods. It's about relationships, at least for me.Suppose I say "how do I use a hammer"? You teach me that. Suppose I am learning to play an instrument, and learning a technique. I'm not getting it, and not getting it. I pick up a new instrument, and wham! There you go, I get the technique. Why hasn't the instrument taught me, just as you have taught me to use the hammer? I don't really see much of a difference. It's pretty much the same relationship.In short, I'm starting from an experience, a positive thing I've had happen to me, not a negative thing I can't explain. Similarly, I don't see why people couldn't have had, say, a religious experience of Zeus. Let me put it this way. If you're a Christian, you go, God/Jesus answered my prayer. That's an experience. Why do you assume that same thing couldn't have happened with Zeus, or Maui, or Tenger Etseg, or a waterfall, or what have you? Or if we're not to put "God" in a "man-made box", then why shouldn't I assume that this is God appearing to me in a way I can understand? I don't because I'm not a monotheist, but I'm just saying, it seems like a perfectly valid question.The thing is, lots of people have these dumb theories about how religions started, and I'm sorry but as somebody with a degree in religious studies, I gotta call things as I see 'em. Saying gods were used to explain things people didn't understand, or that religion came from a fear of death, or whatever weird theory you've picked up doesn't cut it. Basically this is because of the huge diversity of religious conceptions throughout the world. There's a fun game you play when you start doing religious studies. Some professor will go "OK, everybody knows what religion is, right"?Of course people will say yes, because they think they do. The professor will then ask somebody to throw out a definition. "it's about God!", somebody will say. Nope, lots of religions have multiple gods, try again. "It's about gods!", says somebody who thinks they've caught on. Nope, there are religions like Buddhism that technically have no gods at all, and the gods that exist are seen as other beings just like us, and not some sort of goal to strive for or as objects of prayer and worship."I've got it", somebody calls out, "it's about the supernatural"! Nope. Many religions see their conceptions as completely and utterly natural, not apart from the world at all, e.g. among some Polynesian and Melanesian societies, you sing prayers to the gods because if you don't, your canoe won't work. It's a technology, like building it in such a way that it doesn't allow water in, nothing mysterious or supernatural about it at all, has nothing to do with the favor or displeasure of gods, that's just how you make a canoe the right way.The next stage is usually something about a system, and priests. So then you point out that there are religions that don't work like that at all, no priests, no special buildings or anything, stuff like that. Just assume it works like that for any statement you make when you say "religion is about whatever" or "religion/gods/some aspect of religion came from this one thing". Let's try an example. Somebody once pontificated that religion came from a fear of death. Death was all scary, so people invented the afterlife to comfort them. This person was an atheist, naturally.I pointed out that in some religions, notably Buddhism and some forms of Hinduism, life was a problem to be escaped. Reincarnation, in other words, the thing that happens after you die, is a problem to be solved, not a comfort. Other conceptions of the afterlife weren't exactly all tea and crumpets, e.g. a Mesopotamian tablet, (I forget if it's Sumerian or Akkadian and I'm too lazy to go and look right now), describes the dead as eating clay and drinking sewage. In the Old Testament, there is nothing like hell but something called sheol, which means the pit or grave or possibly both, again too lazy. Much like Greek conceptions of the afterlife, everybody just went there and it was all dim and dark and they were pretty much these powerless shades.These afterlives, needless to say, don't seem to provide a lot of comfort. They responded by saying it's not about a comfortable afterlife, it's just the comfort of knowing what happens, it gets rid of the existential dread. I pointed out that under that conception, atheism was a religion because it says absolutely nothing happens to you after you die, except decomposition. That might not be comforting, but at least you know exactly what will happen. For some reason, they stopped talking to me after that.My point is, religion as a subject becomes a
