Hi.@10, I think we do know ourselves, I'll drop you a PM right away to see if it's you or not. After that I guess we can talk a bit more personally if you don't mind.About waiting 2 years or so,, mom thinks the same as well. I won't be able to pay my studies on Berklee, even if I get scholarshipped 90% because it's still really expensive for me. About working, what can I work on? I do not have a degree yet and I'm studying music, so I don't really know where can I fit in for work.About migrating to Spain instead of USA and the different cultures, I don't know. I love USA because of their culture, their history, the jazz, their pop music and pretty much all that. And even though there's a Berklee conservatory on valencia and we share language, roots and all that stuff, and some of my family lives there, I'm not quite convinced. I'm not in a really good relationship with all the members of that family and I don't think I can stay too long on their homes. The ones which I get along perfectly are one of my uncles and my grandmother.My mom keeps insisting to go to sweeten or Canada, because of her friends, for her work, for her opportunities to work on a protected natural ecosystem and because they pay you for staying there as she said. I'm not really sure about this fact, but is it real? The government of both countries is paying new eventual citizens to reside there?Thanks, take care and thank you again for all your comments.

If that's true, why do I never, ever have problems with it unless I try to search something insanely generic?Every time someone has said "I tried using the search feature", they don't say that it acted up or glitched, they just say they couldn't find the info. Yet I can always find it in under two minutes, usually less. A more straightforward way of distributing software would be on an accessible store platform like itch.io, accounts are free and you can choose the revenue share to give to itch.io for their services, if any. You can also sell products as free, pay what you want with or without minimums, or a set fee. They even offer forums and user reviews of your products, if you want. Also, you can embed a widget that links to your itch store page on your website too, if you like. It would probably simplify your distribution considerably.

@8 when I started work at my old job, I just wanted to use VS code with a Scala extension, but my whole team was using IntelliJ instead. I quickly found getting the setup I had at home is nearly impossible, since companies, even the biggest ones, package and make available to you a small subset of trusted software, which excludes 99% of VS code extensions.so I went with the flow and started using IntelliJ, which turned out to be a blessing. although IntelliJ has its accessibility problems, I managed to fix those with an addon. the major advantages are that while VS code is amazing with JS and typescript, and mostly good for all other languages, IntelliJ is super specialised for a particular language set, like Java, or in my case, Scala.whereas in VS code, you have a couple of quick actions, refactorings, code generations for Scala, in IntelliJ, you have probably thousands. for practically any refactoring I would want to do, like extract function, variable, add braces to single statement, etc. I can just press alt + enter and the quick action will be there for it.also the static code analysis is bonkers even for the out-of-the-box experience. it can detect so many warnings and automatically fix them for you, which just isn't available in the VS code extension.also, finding usage of a particular symbol is much better. it gives you a dialogue with a tree view of all occurences in the project that you can efficiently navigate, which has been useful when working on a huge project more times than I can count.

hello, I am the author of the NVDA addon linked in #2.@2 wow I can't actually believe anyone knows about that addon. I just created for personal use and decided to put it up since I thought someone else might get use out of it. I don't understand how you know I worked at JP Morgan before though. Did someone in the company tell you about the addon? I remember I just told one blind guy who was just starting as I was leaving.also in regards to enabling JAB. I think it is auto enabled for NVDA 2020.3 onwards. if you have an older version, you will have to activate it manually, for that refer to this page.if your version of NVDA is older than 2020.3 I think you will need a 32 bit java  installation just to make JAB work. also if you have 32 bit java, you enabled JAB, and things are still not working, then check the troubleshooting section on the page I linked. you might need to download a .dll if it is missing. that was the case for me.edit: also make sure to enable screen reader mode for IntelliJ.not sure how old the version of IntelliJ they are having you use is. for newer version the list item bug my addon solves  is fixed, but for your version it isn't, so you might need the addon to read list items such as in the action finder.honestly, I haven't used IntelliJ for at least 9 months and haven;t touched the addon either. it should work fine with older NVDA versions and IntelliJ, but not sure if there are problems with newer versions.

If you played Objectives, than you played The Blank Game 1. What I would do for the guide is make one, then upload a blank source code, meaning you could just follow the guide and fill in the commands in d_etc, then write the actual game in d_ms (enemies) d_item (items) d_start (character settings) and d_scenario (the story).

We are not going to demand proof of purchase, because that starts getting into overreaching territory.But that won't stop us from asking a dev if they obtained a sound library legally. Of course they can lie about it, but at the end of the day, here's the thing. If your asset use is small enough, and you're clever enough, you can almost certainly get away with it no matter how careful we are. This protocol is meant to kill the obvious cases and cut down on the likelihood of repeats in future.

If you play with SAPI, the way Aaron wants you to, Manamon 1 is a laggy mess. If you use NVDA, both manamon 1 and 2 are fairly responsive, though 2 is better.Also, fun fact. I made a small mistake in exact box-puzzle directions, and didn't bother fixing it. I haven't played that part of the game in awhile. But guess what? I decided to leave it slightly wrong. Here's why.You know how in the guide I tell people to follow walls? Yeah, people would still email me telling me they couldn't find x. In most cases, the answer is "follow walls". I dealt with this early on the forum as well.People would ask me where manamon x was. I'd tell them to read the guide; it's all there. Then they'd ask about a different manamon shortly thereafter.So on the one hand, I felt it wasn't worth my while to update the guide. On the other hand, I left in something that isn't quite right because while I do want you to follow instructions, I also want you to think and advocate for yourself. I didn't screw you over; the problem is very easy to fix, and if you listen closely in any case, you should be able to see where my guide goes slightly astray.

So in that case, what I suspect would happen is that eventually you, as the person zealously reporting, would get a reputation both with us and with the rest of the community. That sort of thing doesn't survive in the dark for long, even if you're trying to do it off forum.Remember, sound library use on its own usually isn't damning. It can be, of course, but doesn't have to be. If you came to us trying to get a dev's project shut down, you wouldn't necessarily have to prove that she used the same assets as you. You'd have to prove that she couldn't legitimately have gotten those assets, so the proof would be on you to demonstrate that. Sure, we'd probably follow up with that dev and then cross-reference the data, but this is why it's a multi-person process, and also why we won't just take one person's word for it.Does that answer your question?

Just want to jump on here because I also had a question about Manamon1. I've never played beyond the first stadium in the demo, and was kind of introduced when 2 came out, but I thought I'd stop and go play 1 and see if I like it as much. However, I've found that 1 is a little slower and laggier than 2. Anyone else experience this? It's not a horrible delay, but definitely a noticeable one.

My opinion:The jungle theme is made by the flute. You rip out the flute, you wreck the track.Shadow Canyon's theme is minimalist. Just a noodling electric piano that is probably supposed to be some sort of guitar. I don't think it needs any bass track, especially not at the expense of something else.This strikes me as...really bizarre, honestly. That said, if you've got a demo of either one that we could hear, that might get me to re-examine my position at least.

Actually, that’s one of the reasons why I liked going back to the towns, so that I could visit older dungeons and re-pay those bosses for all the crap they put me through. That’s what I love about these games. Plus, I like to farm for items and things that only certain bosses may have. that’s the beauty of grinding. however, if you don’t want the bosses to respawn, then could you maybe add some sort of battle arena I can keep visiting as I please, maybe a challenge to climb the ladder as you level up, aside Quest to come back to as you get stronger? Or both?

Going back to previous places would be easy to insert, I will try and mess with that and see. I think the only time I won't be able to put that in is Mysteries of the Ancients, since I didn't put points to tell the game not to repeat boosses. This, is yet another reason why the third game will be better. I already put in that ability. Edit: I can actually add in the ability to go back to previous towns whenever, but some of the boosses would just respawn since I was being lazy and didn't add what Text Game Maker likes to call switches. Speaking of Text Game Maker, I'm thinking of writing an English guide on how to use version 0.9781, the version with all the features, for people who don't know Japanese or just want to learn how to use it. Should I do this?

Yeah. I think, for instance, that there is a difference in fair use claims between something like Shades of Doom - which does use a few borrowed sound assets, but which could very easily survive and thrive without them - and Crazy Party, which by the dev's own admission directly benefits from the aesthetic provided by all its copyrighted assets.It's a complicated process, and at the end of the day there has to be a little trust here. If nothing else, I hope you folks can see that no, we aren't planning to come out with guns blazing here. This isn't an "OMG Jayde and other leftists want to shut everyone up" or anything stupid like that. It's not an extreme or draconian measure. It's a safeguard.

@Jayde And nor should it be. The point is to keep creators from locking up progress of science and the arts. The point of copyright in general, for that matter despite the numerous bugs/oversights/bad features. That being said, I don't expect the mods to be able to have a complete reference on how each factor is weighed and what not. I have a feeling for expedience sake, some of that burden falls on defendants to fully make their case. That being said, defendants/anyone  really should study those factors and case law just in case someone decides to call them to task in a formal legal setting. While it hasn't happened before, that doesn't mean it can't happen, and getting caught flat footed is never fun. Lawyers are a valuable necessity,  but being aware can save you a lot of headaches in the long run.

I saw on the Fenoxo news update he talked about a game he played which was called Monster girl dreams.  The post said it is text based so I gave it a try.  It is made with RenPi, just press V when the game starts to turn on Sappi.  You can find it at  https://threshold.itch.io/monster-girl-dreams  Not everything is selectable, I had to use OCR and snap mouse to navigator object or whatever with NVDA to select stats at the start of the game.I managed to get through a fight or two before I got bored with how slow Sappi is.  Might be worth checking out for people with more patience.It plays like a RPG, looks like it has quests, items etc.   It also has a turn based combat system.  It even has a weakness system based on fetishes and stuff.I did not want to make a separate topic for this because I did not fully test it.  It really seems doable though.

Hey everyone hope you are doing well.So I guess this would go into the general game form but I am putting it here because I am not talking about game play, but music.Anyway: So I have decided to scrap my data and do a replay of both Manamon 1 and 2 just for fun. Well I am feeling inspired to focus on the Dim Branch Jungle Music from Manamon1 and the Shadow Canyon music from Manamon2.So it would be fun to have the jungle music without the flute melody and instead, replace it with the melody on the Bass Guitar.And instead of the normal guitar from the Shadow Canyon music, make a Bass Guitar arrangement with it. I'm sure it is possible. And if Erin came out with Manamon3, he could use both of those if he wanted too.

Thanks everyone for the great words! It's so nice to see so many of you enjoying it.Regarding Android, yes it turned out the whole Play store/low latency thing is a big cluster f***, we had no way of knowing that before release. We even tried keeping it as an optional feature but Google still don't allow phones to install it (@ondrosik that's what you saw). We're trying now to remove the requirement altogether and hope it remains playable. I'll post here when it's ready.

I understand that you are in college, and it is quite the nightmare. I can definitely relate to you on that front. That’s why I only ask for the bear essentials, like being able to go back to previous towns, or at the very least, be able to go back to the resting places in dungeons so I don’t keep losing half my health in the first two battles and losing the rest of it in a boss fight. I am also one of the very few who likes needless grinding in games like this, which is why I like the first game so much.

well, I guess I'm the odd one at that, since I mostly use the phone for most not programming related activities, including online schooling, emails, youtube stuff, entertainment that's not audiogames, etc. Maybe because you are reading this message, you're thinking I'm using an iPhone since it allowes more productivity and such.
