No, you don't need to restart the server. You'll need to relogin though if you were already connected. Try using one of the commands in commands.txt to make sure you did it right.

Chris, the beacon thing is most likely the server lagging. Regarding fires not syncing between players, I think I know why it’s doing that, but fixing that could be a roil pain in the ass.

The game doesn’t store anything in the registry accept menu settings, and that’s just the key m_pro uses, which is used by a bunch of other games as well. Can you give the exact error he’s getting?
