Re: Free cPanel Alternatives. I use to have a free control panel known as ehcp until, well, shit happened. Now I'm using plesk over here with 0 problems. In a situation where you're only just hosting things yourself, I'd say, it's up to you. but I would recommend learning how to setup stuff manually that way you know the ins and outs of troubleshooting if stuff do go wrong, but if you're hosting stuff for people, a control panel is what I would go for. Hell I wouldn't wanna be woken up at 4 in the morning, just to create email addresses for people and what not, when, my panel does that. I would honestly say, save the money and get yourself cpanel or plesk, which are payed and more secure, and you can do even more things to secure it. I have to use it for one of my college classes and while most stuff works, the more critical stuff that I'm doing with it, sucks because it's always laggy. Forget moving quickly through the solution explorer because that ain't gunna work. Note, I'm using 2019 and as stated above, while a lot of things are accessible, I hate using it just because of the lag that I always get. You'd be better off compiling from terminal. For all who own discord servers with bots on them Hello there. For all who own discord servers that do have bots, Are you getting your bots from third party sources or are you coding them yourselves? I honestly wanted to know because I would hate to code a bot if something exists out there that I wanna use. For example, playing music, join announcements to a user who has joined and role management from users are just some of the examples that I would like added to a discord server that I'm building. Note, this is not being lazy and not willing to code anything, I just wanna know of such bots out there exists before I start reinventing the wheel so to speak. Re: would it be possible to host a wordpress site using my own vps? Hello there. You need only change the /etc/php/7.2/apache2/php.ini file. You should not have to do anything with cli dir at all. After changing php values like that, you'll need to restart your apache2 server. sudo service apache2 restart or sudo systemctl apache2 restart. I honestly think I may have that systemctl command wrong as my system uses service to control everything with systemd. Only reason why I put that second command is didn't know what system you have. Maybe you've stated that but didn't read correctly. Anyways, HTH. I'll have to look at your code again to see what's going on if anything and if you do have everything installed and working, check and see if you have a FQDN up and running as mail servers don't like with an misconfigured FQDN setup. Also, check your logs. You also have not told us what system you're running or anything so I'm guestamating only from my experience here with issues I've had in the passt with servers in the like. Most of our site for our radio station is written mostly in php, using notepad to do all the work. then I just upload to the server and it works like a charm! I have not had any problems with echo functions or any other problems when I wrote in .php.another thing you could do is what I like to call, server side coding of which you log in to your server find the file that you want and either nano or vi into it and do it that way, sense I run a mac, I can do this internally from the command line as well as on the server.
