Hello,What these settings have to do with is whether or not you wish to have superstar xfactors enabled for players that have the desired developement raidings.These settings also allow you to customize the raiding requirements for the xfacotr or zone abilities to take affect. THey do not affect your game play overall however, and you can leave them at their default settings.Also, a tip for you when playing on defense. Make sure under visual feedback, that your camera toggle is set to off, and your defensive cam is set to defensive perspective.THis is because on defense left right up, and down are reversed   normally. This is because the field is still viewed with the offense closest to you, otherwise.

I honestly have no idea on that front, as I do not have a PS 5 or xbox series s/x.  Yes, I too have questions about the other catagories such as formation, playtype, concept, etc.  I also want to know if it reads all 3 plays, as each tile has 3 plays usually, such as y = pa-power o, x = bench and a equals titans bench.

BUt the folks at EA decided in their moments of brilliants, to make it more  difficult to do so based on community feedback.  Hmm, I always find that the community that they are talking about isn't ours. Yes, According to what little  I have seen on Madden, on the PS 5 not only do the playbooks read, but the button prompts for performing ball carrier moves also read. Sadly this functionally will not work on older consoles.  Yes, the PS5 is fully accessible to someone who is blind.

And, if they make it accessible in a later release, and I find that it is accessible, I'll give them a better review.   You  can have the most eye opening graphics, the most scintillating sounds, the most realistic options, but if people can't navigate your interface, or are prevented  from taking part in the game for whatever the reason, then I can't give something a higher raiding.

To confirm, there is no "Blindness Accessibility." There are options for contrast, and things like  that. I did leave a one star raiding. I know that may seem contraversial to some, but I can not in good Conscience  give a high raiding to an app that I can't use.

I at least have hope that the current level of accessibility will be maintained in the next release. It could be that if thigns are coded properly, more modes might open up to us. Superstar KO is fully accessible to access, and it required no  special ways to make it work. We'll see.

Hello to all, I plan on doing the daily blitz videos once the game is fully released, as I will be spending my time in the trial learning what is new, what is playable, and what isn't. I'll then be able to craft new videos depending on what we can and can not do.The thing is, more and more companies besides the folks who made TLOU are making accessibility part of their what's new features for releases. Why EA does not do this, is beyond me, as Accessibility has become an expectation, not just a possible to-do project later. Yes, we may have to wait until next thursday to find out, but I'll be keeping my eyes open.  Sometimes EA has done things for accessibility in their deep dives articles. They did this for Madden 18, and for Madden 20. Notice that 17 and 19 didn't have a lot of accessibility improvements, so it could be that our improvements are made every  two years on the even number releases. Again speculation on my part, but we'll see.I for one am looking forward to the game for several reasons, and I'll make those things known when I start doing the videos. One last thing before I end this post: If we really want to be involved in the next release of Madden, we need to get access to the closed beta, so we can leave feedback that can be worked on.  If we're going to be in the community of players, we need to somehow get on those beta's.I personally think that we should start sending emails around the time EA starts talking about their next version, trying to get in to the closed beta.Thanks, and I hope to see you  out on the grid iron!

Passing is a difficult thing to time depending on how long the route is. For example a quick slant   you would count 1001, 1002, and throw. Depending on the coverage, that generally works. For deeper routes, like posts, you may need to wait 3 to 5 seconds to throw it. It depends on the route.

I'm still super excited for the story Mode in Madden, I just hope that they added more accessibility to the  menus there. You know, when that superstar KO mode came out, it was accessible right out of the box, meaning all the menus were. They took the time to code the menus witht he proper options. It's a shame that they just can't go through and code it all. I fully agree with you. I know one blind person, whose name I will not mention, who basically told me, that if I didn't want to get sued, that I would   have to caption my Madden videos.   While I am a full proponent of universal access,  I sat in shock for about 15 minutes, processing that information.  This isn't the only time I've seen developers never associate with the blind community however. While this wasn't a game of any kind, I'm sure people remember Flexy.  Blind people got really bent out of shap, when we were given a specific ap that worked with Voiceover, and it wasn't a permanent solution.  This backlash didn't come from people on this forum, but came from people Like John Mossan, and other big names in our community. The end result? Flexy dropped all of it's  ties tot he blind community. When I wrote to them later on expressing my wish that the product would remain accessible, what I was told was, "Accessibility is no longer our priority." That is what happens when blind people really make developers angry.

Hello to all,I want to say something, and it points to  everything you are discussing here. The topic that some of you are referring to,  was a discussion of what accessibility features should appear in later version of Madden.  A lot of us said that the playbooks should be made accessible, and that being able to know what receivers were open  on what play would be helpful. There were some, who were very out-spoken regarding menu narration, not understanding that Madden unlike a fighting game, is practically, entirely made up of menus, with  a few seconds of player movements after selections are made.  When Karren took up the results of  community, and said that Menu narration with playbooks would be worked on next,  that's when it all went downhill. I will not say names,  but the way that some behaved, well, it broke me.  I had spent 4 years building a relationship with EA, and those who worked there, particularly Karren. It was Karren and her developers who fixed the kicking system in Madden 18.  TO see it all go away possibly, breaks my heart. I'm hoping that it is not the case, but I have heard nothing from them, since that time. I will do my tridition and reveal any new features and accessibility changes if they appear.

Update: Upon reinstalling the program, I pressed space on the english language option, then pressed alt+n for next.I did the updates, and let steam launch, but again, everything until the program launches is in english.  When I get the email for the gard to confirm my email it's in this language that I can't figure out.Also, steam support sent me instructions on how tto turn it off, but if we can't figure out the language, then that isn't going to help.Thanks,Darrell

problem with launching steam

Hello to all,I have recently tried to get steam installed on my machine, and The following happens:1. I have made sure both with a mouse, and with a screen reader, that english is the selected language.2. The installer continues to display in english, and I select the diectory, and install the program.3. I set the configuration from the steam guide, and then try and log in.4. Steam will tell me that it is updating.5. Steam will tell me that it is installing the packages. Keep in mind this is all in english.6. Steam will come up in a language that neither my self or my girl friend can figure out.  This happens  no matter how many times we uninstall and reinstall the program, even if we try to switch languages during the install. Funny thing is, we tried switching it to french, and it still displayed english during the install.Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.Thanks so much,Darrell

I have tested the fifa game, and it's sad to say that the accessibility isn't there yet. Where in Madden the menu narration for most of the modes in consistant, in fifa, THe menu narration is a mess, much less bing able to figure out much else.

Hello,Some of the settings like minum roster size and maximum roster size you can't change until the next season begins.Also, there are a few options that do not have descriptions attached to them, so honestly I don't have any idea exactly what they do. From what My self and CoziestKolla  can tell, they have to do with the amount of players you can cut,  and the raidings threashhold you can cut from.I'll let you knowmore when I find out.

I have personally tested origin, and  I'll explain it like this. It is less complicated to land the Apollo 11 lunar lander, than try and opperate origin without having to jump through hoops that are larger than life.  I'm mostly refering to the install of the program, but it's anightmare.

Yes,  and that line of thinking Liam, while I understand your perspective  is why things are not made  If we stood by and didn't confront apple, would VoiceOver had been made? No. If we stood by when walmart's website was not accessible, blind people wouldn't be able to shop there. There is a time for waiting and watching, and a time  for action. We've all seen what EA can do with Madden, and if we as the community that is not a priority do not continue to reach out, then we'll remain forgotten. Hello to all, I am glad to see that this topic has caused an outpouring of feedback.This is  a two fold problem that happens to go hand in hand.If you don't know what your plays are,  you can't know what plays to call for a particular situation. Likewise,  every adjustment, every audible, is based on the play that you call. The commentary team, needs to inform us of what the defense is doing, or if we are on the defense, what the offense is doing, and what formation they are using.  Back in the days of College games, I had to know my formations in particular, and I knew where certain plays were, because I was good with them.  What you guys are failing to grasp, is that knowing what plays you are comfortable with,  will help you make adjustments. Let's say you call, bench. Bench has two shallow out routs on Y and A (triangle and X respectively. The other two receivers are running two corner routes witch are tied to X and B (Square and Circle respectively.)When you get to the line, you may hear the defense say watch the run. Or they may say tight ends right, tight ends right. This tells you two things. One, if you hear watch the run, it means you don't have to audible to a run play. If you hear tight ends right, it means that your route on A will be covered. In this situation it is best to throw to the corner routs, or throw to the tight end on the left with the y button.To supplement what the players say on the field, the commentary team could say, "They are gearing up to stop the run, or It looks like they will press the receivers.  Those are good signs to make adjustments.In closing I want to say a few words to first my fellow players.Your concerns are well founded, and I agree with them. However, I submit to all of you that the problems are actually one and the same.  If you don't know the situation you are in IE if you are blitzing or not, you can't know how to adjust. However, if we  don't get  any idea on what the other side is up to, we can't know what we're adjusting from, and what we're adjusting in  to.Finally I want to send a message to EA. Stop isolating us.  While accessibility improvements have been  from year to year, we are left out when it comes to patches through out the cycle of a game release. And for the record, I do know what I'm talking about.  If everyone in the community through the game release cycle gets issues resolved,  then we should to.Or, perhaps we're not part of the community?There have been 4 patches released for Madden 20, and the only accessibility change, was  a minor fix in ultimate team for something not reading correctly. While I'm grateful for the bug that was squashed,   our value as consumers should be taken with equal  priority.  What this means for EA, is a shift in focus.  Because accessibility requires more of an effort in development,  then more focus should be placed on it during the release cycle of a game.  At the same time,  when new versions are released, new features in accessibility should also be released, or more things should be added to things like menu narration. Accessibility should not stop once a game is released, but should continue with subsequent  patches and updates.  Again EA, are you listening?  I spent 5 months of my life working with your teams, and I know what they are capable of.  But everyone on this forum, has done  their part.   posting things in the forums, put in there reports, suggestions,  and all that you have asked. Yet, we see no fruit for our efforts.  We're not asking that entire modes be made accessible during a game cycle.  But it seems to me, and to all of us, that accessibility stops  after the release of the title.

First and foremost, Playbooks need to be done first. I know a lot of people  don't like this idea, but if you don't know what play your calling you can't possibly know what receivers to throw to. take it from someone who has been playing Madden  games since Madden 96. Without the playbooks, we're at a disadvantage.Second for me, is the skills trainer, and training drills. Again, I know that  a lot of people do not agree with this, but someone mentioned  knowing what a play is, and knowing where your receivers are.The skills trainer and the training in franchise will help you in several ways,  the most important being  learning ,  the different concepts such as the mills concept, the slant flat concept, learning defensive coverages,  etc. Also, if you are doing the training in franchise, and you get gold on the drills and concepts, that helps your teams raidings go up by a bunch, and unless menu narration reads the text of the training materials, we are at a disadvantage as we are not able to take full advantage of the experience we gain during a season. On top of all that  I would like to see the rest of franchise, ultimate team, and face of the franchise narrated.As far as game play changes go, Yes, we need a way to know what receiver is open, but again, this ties in to what play you have called. Each formation has receivers listed  in a  particular order. Your number one receiver might be Davis in shotgun trips, but your number one might be Jackson in the i-form week.  While the number one receiver button is always x, having the playbooks speaking  would let us chose formations, concepts, and plays we are comfortable with.Again, most of you, if not all of you will disagree,  but I've been playing Madden 23 years, so I believe as a player, I know what I am  talking about.

Don't spin  when you catch the ball, that turns your player around, unless you are being tackled. Also,  your right stick will try and juke, or truck the defender.

Hold the right trigger, and while holding that button, press left or right or up or down on the left stick.To roll right, hold right on the left stick.To roll left, hold left on the left stick.To try and run up field, hold up.

2Hello,Once you go in to franchise mode you should do the following.1. Go to franchise and select offline. Offline is the example.2. Select create new franchise.3. Select either pre-season or active roster.4. Select your team.5. Wait for Brandon to stop speaking, and  then select change roll.6. Select player.7. For this example select active player.8. You'll come to the roster screen, of players that you can play from. 9. To change position, hold down the right trigger, and while holding down that button, flick down on the left stick, or press down on the d-pad.I hope this helps!Also, our league is in pre-season week two, so get ready to play those  and continue to build up those teams. EA is well informed  about the playbooks issue with menu narration. Also,  and it's not that I won't report things, but the more people who report them,  the more that EA hast to listen to them. I need to do a couple more things,  but I can explane Face of the franchise here, and then do a more comprehensive video on it.The first part of it  is a story about  a player that you create. YOu go through a creation process wich is not accessible, and then you are asked the sign with a team.  THe team menu is a verticle list, and after that, you choose who you want to play  in the simi-finals of the championship.  If you win the first game, you will play a second game, and inbetween the two games  you meet  a character, I won't spoil it for you  unless I do the video.  AIf you win the second game, and I"ll say this, the first game is on apro, the second game is all pro.  It is next to impossible to win, but it can be done. If you win both games, you'll move on to the combine, wich is going to take a lot of luck to get high grades on. , as you are throwing the ball to a reciever who must land inside a hotspot. THis needs to be reported to the accessibility forums.Once you get past the combine it's  a regular franchise with you as the roll of the player. Pay close atension to your messages, as you'll be given goals, chalanges, and you'll even hear from your new fans. Note: NOt winning a championship does not mean your career is over.  You'll join  an NFL team no matter what. On another note:  Those who are in my league,  I"d like to advance to the second week of the pre-season. It's only the pre season, so games don't count on the wins and losses column, but I"d like to start moving us forward. THere is still time to get your teams set up, but we've been on week one for a while. ANy thoughts?ALso, the next daily blitz will be out today.
