So, in conclusion, Sam Tupy is nothing but a developer who wants all the power because he thinks he has the right because he made the game. May I remind you, it is your decision to make a game, but that doesn't entitle you to have power all day. I think that with Carter the game is slowly, trying to go somewhere. Don't worry, before we know it, it'll be stw number 2. There will be the people who play it all day no matter if an admin, AKA Sam shoots down people with adminguns, or adminstars whaterver the hell they're called, same thing. You will have the people who get sick of it and you know what happens after that. Since I got banned, I'm no longer sitting on the game getting mad because some stupid OP team that's been on for months. Yes, probably with the inventory they have that has things they didn't work for. Sniping newbies with weapons like the sniper as soon as they come online is not working for shit. Yes, the killingground apparently fixed this problem, but seems like a lot of people still have problems with the battlefield.

So to the developers that complain about their work being stolen, I don't understand why they don't track their registration keys and who activates them. Because most audio games just generate a key based on the given registration name , and boom. Its usually some crazy text scrammbled version of their name, and junk added to it. But...why can't you at least code a server that keeps track of what computers register what key to what game? I mean...if you worked sooo hard on that big game, it won't kill you to spend an hour or so writing code to protect from being cheated like that. I know Aaron uses something like that, because the first day his new game came out, everyone had this key and the next day it got banned. Very interesting that with all the new things we have learned in the last few years, people still, to this day, use basic registration systems.

Ok, but if I add this ranking system, I will then create another problem. People will have certain items that they gained because of their kills, etc. If a newbie logs in, they won't stand a chance with all the players online because player x is a newbie, there for can't receive the missiles, while players y and z can.

You completely missed the point of the post. Its not about how unbalanced the game is, although I agree both redspot and TK need some work on that, but that's not what I[m talking about. I'm refering to how unfair Sam operates the game...seriously. Just look at this first initial post and my post. Clearly its always Sam's teaming having the upper hand, and when they come online, they find a reason why this team was cheating, using loopholes, etc.

Hello there,I know its gonna start up people yelling about this but it needs to be talked about, and we should have a right to talk about the game, good or bad. I don't really care how tired someone is seeing topics about this game being completely flawed, we should be allowed to talk about its problems.So a lot of people might think I'm just trying to give redspot more of a bad rep than it already had and maybe even a few people might call me biased because I am a developer of a game similar to redspot. However, I'm not here to do that. I'm here to tell you a story and my view here and you can think about this and take it how you will. So right after christmas some random people on redspot were teaming up, and we had this huge team consisting of 15 to 20 members or so. We had 2 bases and one of them was up on sky. So Sam apparently told us that we had placed too many barricade bombs and the server was lagging and I agreed because I couldn't even access our base because of the base time out system, and how it times out after entering a code. He comes online to destroy the barricade bombs, as he clames. So after he goes up there, someone in the team starts shooting with the base machine gun at Sam. Apparently someone added him to the owner's list so he couldn't hurt the base. Ok, well Sam had told us that the rule was now you couldn't place a lot of barricade bombs close together because it apparently generates lots of lag, which I completely understand. So he eventually did give me bitcoins and stuff to create a new base. Lets go back to the base distruction for a little bit. Not only did he destroy the base with over 100 mill health, he gave himself admins stars which apparently take 20 mill health in one hit. What kind of an item is that...you might as well just code a /destroy_base command to destroy a base. He also killed the sandbags near the store a person in the team placed because it was causing too much lag. Now just the other day, that same person(now in Sam's team) placed lots of barricades near the store making it very hard to enter and even sometimes generating lag. But Sam had said that day that he gave us a warning and we shouldn't place barricade bombs, but when a  team member in Sam's team that was in another team before,places bombs and sandbags its ok? He did this 3 times in one day by the way, all I saw done was the new dev(Carter) come online and break the bombs. They clame they talked to him about it but I don't see anything being done about this. Why are these developers not coding a security update to the server? My god if its that hard to right a function to check barricade bombs, I'm sure its extra harder to create a throwing star that takes 20 mil health in one blow. I don't know guys, I like the game but this game has waaay too many balanced problems and the developers have clearly shown favoriteism over beta members and team members.

SO I log in to STW and see there's 24 players online. I logged in a few days ago and saw like 49. My point is, there's so much playerbase in that game that Sam probably thinks the STW players are happy because they continue to play it. So, all this complaing, for nothing? You continue to play the game...so really, you're not really showing him that you want something new. While I do think that he should consider listening to people for once in his life, you also have to show him that you really want this. Also, did you guys know that because of the redspot server lag in version 0.70 when bases were addded, he got a new server? Where and how is he paying for that server that's so powerful? Survive the wild store! Idk...but STW's about to go on its 2 year mark with no real update. The last update was sometime earlier this year, and the only reason why he even updated it, was because he had to switch servers.

Something I really don't see why its allowed is these people who go AFK for hours and hours so they don't lose their inventory. I think there should be a timer in the game like 1 or 2 hours, if you leave, boom. You're booted off the game, because we have these people like Sam's team members who do this. Well, what's the point in losing your inventory when you log off then? Another thing I will question is Sam's banning system, how does it work? I had 2 people tell me they were randomly banned from redspot with out even being online. To get unbanned, Sam makes this big deal of giving you a file to run to get a computer ID.Um, seriously? You're banned from a game but to be  unbanned you have to run a file that does god knows what?

Well, tell me what Quinton did and I will be more than happy to go through the logs of the server and tell you if he did or not. About x1, I see, so you only think he does something good when he gives you items...if you ask me, I think the reason why they didn't like the idea of me returning to a single server, because they no longer had the power of moving, kicking, etc. They apparently say I trashed the game as soon as I removed the /give command to make it fair for all. For that reason alone, they refused to update to the latest server...[[wow]]. Such children.In another news, I released an update with a better weapon replacing the machine gun, cheating inventory fixes, new missile programming, and a few other fixes with beacons. You'll need the latest server because of the way the beacons work.

But then I get these messages, how do I host a server, how do I get my IP address, how do I stop windows firewall, etc etc etc. Look, I'm a game dev, not a tech support rep. Then we have the server, first of all, I'm tryingto keep the game fair to all, including everyone's server keeps its latest version to fix a number of problems like lag, and admins just abusing stuff by giving items to themselves. I logged on to Ernie's server and saw someone with the ni
 ckname SamTupy. I logged on the next day and an admin randomly moved me to their location and started killing me. Yeah, I'm gonna take action on that. So Ernie's server goes into an update loop, and I try to fix it. I can't after a number of hours working  my ass off. So I release an update hosting the game again, figured it would be easier for everyone, and no more admin crap would go on. There is a reason why I really could care less what Ernie was saying on Saturday with the twitter convo. I was going to hockey practice, and I seriously had no time to sit down and write an explaination on the situation. Could I have handled it differently? I'm sure I could. But calling someone an asshole isn't helping my mood. I'm already annoyed with all these messages I get every day about this, that, fuck you, bitch, you're a fuck, on and on and on. Look, we developers also do have lives I would sometimes wish you people would just consider before you co

Developing games is something we do for fun, because I like to see other people have fun out of things I create, whatever the reason for a developer's motivation is to make games or anything, we need to put that in perspective when making topics like these. Of course...this again. First of all, before I go on, I would like to state that yes, TK is using Redspot's engine, go look at the readme. But really, that situation was dealt with a long time ago, so no need t whine about that. You're just gonna be mad at yourself and whoever else doesn't have the same beliefs you have about redspot vs TK. I honestly like both games, hell people know very well that Iplay redspot, and I even openly say Redspot's better in its own way, so is TK. I will say this though, the thing that bothers me about redspot is yes, the admin team and the fact that it can be really unfair at times. As for your problem with the name thing, that's because Sam added a thing where if you disconnect, you can't come online with the same name until someone kills it. The players are stored in an array, and sam doesn't remove your name from the server, and making it think you're already playing. That's kind of stupid, but that's about the only fix you can get for people who go offline in the middle of an attack. You'll have to either get someone to kill that player or just change your name. Annoying but o well. The net event problems, that's an easy fix. Just destroy the network object when you go to the main menu.

Hi there. It just happened to me a few minutes ago. I had a large number of items and 8 item grabbers. Um, never seen it in another game. Something's going on because stw doesn't do that and god only knows how big that game is. So I wouldn't say its a bgt bug, never seen this happen before. I think its time for Mr. Tupy to use the garbage_collect(); function.

I think he should at least get a ban, considering sending crash codes is against the rules.txt file. 6. I was thinking about that earlier, and like I said, I just wish I wasn't such an idiot and leaked the code. Seriously, if I wasn't so ridiculous about eh matter, this would have never happened. But nope, I had to zip that ultraCrapper source code to Wiam or whatever the hell his name is, and from there it went to Vad's hands, and then it just...flew all over the gaming community. Yeah, I released the code and said it was OK to do whatever you want with it, but you need to understand I did that out of frustration. A lot of stuff was going on with Colton and I and another individual. Not trying to post this because I want people to be sorry for me, but I just want to publicly set the story straight on how the source code even got leaked. It wasn't really Colton's fault because he told me not to give it out. But like always, I didn't listen. Hell, I wasn't even gonna log in to the main Ultrapower server. But sometimes I do things on impulse. As to t
 he DM situation, my thing is this. I don't think its fair to Sam Tupy, me, Colton, NS, and Mason. Colton and I did plenty of work on BTB, which is what these people are using. So we work our asses off to have this really nice working game and some person changes it, and boom? Its his? No, sorry. You could say I have no room to talk, but I am using as much source code, which is quite a bit, as I can with out going to my bib folder when I'm coding Tk. I have another project in the works that's. even less relying on that code, and no, its not a shooter. That's another story for another day though. Now I'm just getting out of topic. Well that's it for now, I'll be back when I get this work done.

As someone who worked with Ultrapower's code after it was leaked, I can only say this: if you want to make a game, I would make it from scratch and not rely o much on that source code. Here's why. First, its your own code. Nothing's better than looking at your own code, and understanding the entire thing. You worked on it, you made it, its just better. Second: The source code to that game can go so far, and the server is very, very, very, laggy! Sure, people can fix it, but that would take quite a bit of work and at that point, you're better off writing your own server. I mean, the way I would put it, go ahead, use some of that code, like the map system, for example. But hey, that's not my decision because whatever you choose to do with the code is your own choice. Mason, I would like to say thank you, for releasing that code to the public and allowing it to be used. At first I was a little bit mad because now that's all we're gonna see, is the f
 orum getting spammed with Ultrapower topics. But hey, your game, your code. If anything you're doing me a favor, trying to stop these people from creating more clones. I have to say that takes a lot out of someone to just give that code out for people to use. Hi,I have some news to report to you all. I've thought long and hard about this, but TK is being discontinued. Its sad that its had such a short life, but there's nothing we can do about it. The server is extremely buggy, and the new update is quite big but I don't feel like releasing it. If there's high enough demand I will release the server and allow others to host a server for it.

Hey thereSince they're not celling the games, and me being someone who bought all the apps, could someone who still has the games put the IPA files somewhere I could get them I can then use my utility to ensign it from your ID and put these games on my phone. Its quite sad that they don't exist anymore, and like said, we bought these games, and in total, I spent about $20 with everything I bought. I don't see anything wrong with this idea because like I said, I purchased these games, and they don't seem to be celling them anymore. But hey, if anyone thinks we shouldn't do that, by all means, I would love to hear your  take on that.

@SLJ, you can't get really in trouble since this version of UP we're talking about mason publicly released the server and client when he had histone of many fits. Anyway, this isn't really an ultrapower topic so in other news, I'm gonna start fixing the server lag and runtime errors when I get home. I've been busy the last few days and with some stuff going on in my personal life as well. But hope to fix things for you guys and make it much more stable.

Hi,it appears that I am unbanned from the forum and I would like to start off with a public apology to all the members on the forum. Lets not dwell on that old stuff to much though,. So, my question is, should I continue my game? I'm sure some of you have tried TK out, hell, earlier when I was trying to recover my server, the server rebooted, and I didn't realize the TK server was still in the startup folder. The server notified me that a player was created on my phone, and I went in and shut the server down because I am currently testing the client with a small group of testers. Do you guys think I should continue the game? Not gonna spend all this time coding a new update if people won't play it. O, by the way, for anyone who thinks I'm angry or trying to throw a fit, I'm not. I'm asking a general question, to not waist anyone's time, you the player and me the developer. thanks

Holy shit! I just saw every post in this topic and I think Sam is correct about all of this stuff. And trust me, I've seen people who come up with ridiculous things to not do something or as a cover. But, whenever this was, Sunday, I think, her "friend" was being picked on from this Walter guy that I don't know, and 4 days later being dead? Um, I'm sorry, but I highly doubt that.I would imagine that someone or herself would post on this topic saying that her friend died. Actually never mind that, but still. Yeah. Well, That's what we're trying to do. We are trying to create a system like RTR, when you die, your weapons get cleared, and stuff like that. We'll see what I can do to this game. I just need ideas.Also, it would help if some of you could donate to get a better server for the actual release. Ok, well that's very sad. Because I can mostly asure you that you play STW, Redspot, and SBP.Like those games or not, they still have some, if not a lot of UP's code. Some ideas for my BTB.

Hi all. If any of you remember BTB, you all hated it. I want to know, because I started this project back up. What are some ideas you would like to see in this game?For anyone who doesn't know, BTB is a multiplayer game, and its an FPS game. So, what would you guys like to see?Also, if it gets good enough, I do plan on making this payed. Now, didn't say I would, but I'm just gonna warn you that that might be a thing in the future.

Hi,I myself was trying to do the same, but I just don't have the motivation to continue with the project. I start working on something and my idea just sometimes seems not all that good after all to me, or I just sit there in front of the computer looking at my code. I honestly don't know what to do in regards to audio games development.
