well, if you wanna be less limited I guess there's still AI dungeon. They're talking about adding something like an rpg stats system to their world system so you can give chars stats that go up and down and such. Don't know how they'd make it integrate into the AI so it can give you more successful outputs based on your stats though. I guess that's gonna be interesting.

My sister got our first computer and one day, installed some games on it, even though she was never and isn't a gamer. I guess she got them from someone else who either was blind or was working with blind ids learning how to use a computer. Anyway, at first we had things like Pigeon Panic and drive. I was only six years old but Pigeon Panic was easy enough to figure out, if the thing is in the center, hit the space bar and it makes a happy noise, if you don't it makes a sad noise and eventually the guy tells you that your game is over xd.I mostly stopped playing games after that, but started again after my Sister stumbled on things like Top speed2 (3 didn't exist at the time), duck hunt, and two german games called Der Tag wird zur Nacht and Mückenjagd. Shortly after that I got my own pc and somehow ended up getting the l works games. Those games happened to have a shortcut link set up to access their website, as many other games did during that time. So from there I was able to download all the other l works games, including the demos for judgement day and Super Liam.Funny story, when I got the Super Liam demo, I knew there was more content in the full version that I couldn't access, and that at the end of the demo version, you'd get this announcement telling you you had to buy the full game. So I was like "if the game can't tell me that it's over, it must continue!" So I deleted the demo sound file, hoping that if I did, the game would continue on because it had nothing to play. Needless to say it didn't work.Anyway, from the l works page, I somehow reached the bsc games page, no idea how. I think there was a link to it at one time. There I found all their games like Troopanum, Pipe, etc. And this was the first time where I seriously wanted to find ways to get full versions of games, because most of their games were tryals. It was this time where audio game devs tried really hard to make a living off of selling games to blind people. Hahahahahaha, pretty funny in hindsight.So from the bsc site, I think there was a link on it somewhere that brought me to audiogames.net. I saw the database for the first time, but originally thought that you couldn't download any of the games because 1000AD was the first entry, and I didn't know what browser games were at the time. But eventually I got how it worked, and proceeded to try every single game from the db. My poor windows xp computer from 2004 or so ended up with over 100 desktop items and a start menu so full of icons it covered half the screen. I could only play offline games back then, because for some random reason I couldn't sign up to any browser games no matter what I tried. It just... didn't let me. And I didn't have enough patience to figure out how muds worked. When I got my second computer in 2010, I was able to register for browser games, play muds, and sign up to Klango and, yes, this forum. God my first posts were horrible. In fact, they were the reason we can't thumb down posts anymore! yayayayayayayayayayayayay!The rest tells itself. Since I was now part of the forum and could play online games, I moved with the trends most of the time. The bk games, Swamp, RTR, the japanese stuff, crazy party, eurofly... You get the idea.Now looking back at 12 years of gaming history. Sometimes I wish I'd never started playing the bloody things, especially when looking at my social development. But hey, a bit too late to change the past now I guess.

I recommend GTA only if you're interested in creating carnage in an open world on a completed save and watching people react to it. Don't get it for the story if you can't see, watch a Letsplay or a cutscene movy for that. I heard GTA VI is probably going to have destructable environments. That would be cool as fuck if someone would make a usable trainer for it.

VIP Mud and NVDA

I don't know what triggered this. Maybe it was me moving the VIP Data folder (unlikely since the main program's folder is unchanged and the controller dlls are still there). Maybe it was a new NVDA update. Regardless, VIP and NVDA don't want to play nice anymore. When I set my voice to screen reader, I get inicialisation errors left and right and a system error noise every time text tries to come through. I tried working around it by using Nvdasapi, but you get really weird speech behavior doing that since both NVDA and Nvdasapi are trying to read things. I'm not going to play with conventional Sapi, no thank you. VIP's Sapi support drives me up the wall because it cues every single message.Lastly, I could always switch to Mush. The thing is, there are muds I play from time to time that simply don't have any mush soundpacks, or those that do exist are just... bad. So I can really only do that for Muds that I'd play without soundpacks.

IDK really. I tried this a few times over the last few years, and aside from some UI changes like making the menus work more like windows menu bars, nothing seems changed. You're playing a 2d shooter, you start out in this school thing, you basically collect items and try not to get owned by some p2w player's super ultra rocket grenade laser bazooka launcher thing, and everyone keeps complaining about how micro heavy and unbalanced it is.

Blind Gladiator had some nice things going for it like the different dialogues for in between combat and enemy introductions. It also was one of the few games the association made where you could actually unlock stuff as you played. What they did wrong once again though was that all the combats feel the same and the weapons don't change the game at all, besides letting you keep up with stronger enemy stats.

There's Gladiator. Road to the colosseum, which is a hosted CoG game. Sadly there's not much variation when it comes to its ending. There used to be this gladiator manager on IOS, which was pretty interesting since it did go into a good amount of detail with stat training, buying equipment etc. But I think that one's gone for good.

ok. Open the game, and either wait or press a key after a while to make the music start. Then go down twice, press enter once and wait for the options menu to load. That takes about a second for me, so wait for that long, then press enter again right away and space to enable narration.

Where p2w is concerned, that's most MMOS these days for you. The reason some people on the forum don't understand this quite so well yet is because there just aren't as many playable MMOS. This is particularly bad for mobile games, but it happens just about everywhere now.I'm not saying Microtransactions themselves are bad. Done right, they can serve as a great game enhancement to those who want to support the devs. Take Core exiles, where even if you buy a payed item, most of them are still level restricted which means you have to invest time into the game to use them, unlike in Dreamland. Theoretically, if you had enough money and wanted to spend it all, you could fully develop your character to level 120 and beyond, get max level top-quality equipment, spirits, and skills, and completely finish your dragon Totem and Nirvana Quest line without killing a single enemy or completing a single part of the main quest.

It doesn't matter how much code the game uses now. It matters how much code it started out using. There's plenty of evidence to support the game being a clone. Back when it first came out, a few people with knowledge of the UP code went on the game and tried a few custom commands that weren't known to normal players, only those who had the source code or those that mason told about the commands. The commands in question worked, which they only do on an UP fork. Mason didn't originally give permission to use the source, which made it an unauthorized fork. He did, however, say that he didn't care what Renova did with the code after the fact, which, in my opinion, is an analogue to either open-sourcing the code, or at least giving the people currently using it permission. I don't know how true the rumors are that CB was rewritten a year ago. but if there's some merit to that, then someone should investigate and it could potentially lose it's unauthorized fork status. However, with how paranoid the community, and especially a few mods that I could mention are around here, a project of this sort will probably never go anywhere.

That would be a question of "does he still have the source code?" If he does, does he want to go through the effort of ripping out all the demo and registration code? Still, even if he doesn't want to/can't do these things, he should at least take the site down to stop people from accidentally purchasing things they're not going to get. It's weird that he keeps the site up, and is obviously paying for it, but isn't sending out keys or fixing the server.

When Ray Kurzwail foretold that humanity will reach a technological singularity by 2050, he based his prognosis on current trends in computing, the progress of moore's law, and prommissing breakthroughs in research related to new ways of computing. I could do a similar thing to what you're doing right now. I could say "Aliens are going to land tomorrow and they'll uplift us to a new reality plane! yayayayayayayayayayayay!" Or "Screw you all, Every single game will be accessible next week because all the devs suddenly had a change of heart! Let us celebrate with food and wine a plenty!" But I wouldn't have anything to base that off of. Accessible Tlou2 and the ps5 are completely different things to what you're proposing now. Both the games and the console were designed/redesigned with a11y in mind from the very beginning. Minecraft wasn't. And as Ethin was so friendly to point out, at this stage it's going to take a rewrite, which no one is willing to do considering the costs involved. Naughty Dog didn't have to do a rewrite for Tlou2. Even Soni's UI redesign with a11y for the ps5 wasn't out of the ordinary. Soni redoes the UI for every new console generation so it was just normal procedure for them.

There's one glaring problem with Minecraft accessibility, and this is block representation. Sure, you could make a thing that lets you look at a structure block by block. But let's be real, what enjoyment are you going to get out of that? The main idea behind Minecraft, and the main thing that makes it so popular, is the fact that you can build just about anything you want if you have the imagination for it. If you have a bk3 style camera or a thing that detects regular block formations and tells you what dimensions they are in, that may tell you what's around, but it won't convey the Minecraft spirit, if you know what I mean. If you want this type of game to work, you're probably better off modding or creating a true survival game, because where Minecraft is concerned, it's still mostly about building stuff.

That's kind of how the game works. Punishing won't really influence what your hero does or writes. It mainly influences how much damage he does. The darker his personality the more damage. And there's some other, more minor effects to personality you can see in the wiki. God voices are meant to fail sometimes. There's a daily forecast you can read in the godville times, which introduces three random effects every day. Some of those effects have to do with how receptive heros are to god voices.As for the temple, it's supposed to take a long ass time to complete. you can speed it up though by winning arena fights or influencing when your hero has more than 3k gold. That will sometimes melt the gold into a brick. But don't do it so much that he can never buy things like skills or equipment, because that makes him more powerful allowing for faster progression, etc.Regarding the pet, that's true. In the first few levels, the pet is pretty useless. But at higher levels, he will often interfear in fights which will damage monsters. Just make sure your hero is at reasonable health for most of the time, because if your hero dies, there's a chance his pet will take the hit instead of the hero which will knock it out. If you don't get enough gold together in time when that happens, the pet becomes useless and won't level anymore.

I'm not a game dev but from what I've experienced, economy balancing is just really, really hard and tedious. Consider this, there are games like Torn whose dev had to hire an economics expert just to ensure things didn't go down the drain every time new features were added, and Torn is really just a text based MMO with too many numbers in it. CR has so many ways of earning and losing money, it's no wonder the economy crumbled after a few months of existing since people found easy money exploits. Now those people with enough money have so much of it they never have to worry again, and the rest are left with grinding whatever they can on whatever activities haven't been nerfed to hell and back yet.

I guess another thing to consider is the genre. Take survival games, for instance. Those have to be brootally realistic these days. Hunger/thurst, temperature systems, illnesses, debilitating wounds, most of them have all that and more.

@50 the joke thing? To be honest, that's something you can't really touch if your game has text communication. As SC's guidelines would phrase it, "this is one of the things we must gloss over in favor of a functioning environment." 600 year old jokes may be forgotten, particularly if we're talking about 6 different species mingling together in a world that's very different from our own. The thing is, the people sitting behind their characters are still from the 21st century, and most of them are likely to be human. Inventing new memes isn't exactly easy, you know.

It's not a big hazard though. You're always given 3 answers. One of them is absolute rubbish all of the time, so you've got a 50/50 chance of hitting the right answer. Even if you don't, all you have to do is close out at the fail prompt and reopen the game. You'll end up at the age you were before and can try again. You can actually do this with almost every scenario in the game, except casino games.

When it comes to ongoing releases that receive frequent updates, you probably look at how realistic the game is  and is supposed to be depending on how realistic its initial release was. The first version of swamp had you running around with one gun that had infinit bullets, with no penalties if you overused it or anything. Since then, multiple weapons with according ammo systems were added, which pulled the game slightly towards trying to imitate realism, but it's still not realistic in terms of being able to cart around whatever you want and not being penalized for it. It probably won't ever have such mechanics either because being able to carry around lots of stuff is so integral to how the game is played. When we're talking cr, for example (which is probably where this came from), it's completely different. CR advertises itself as an rp encouraged game. A game with rp needs a thought out universe to rp in, otherwise you might as well make every single character a magic wizard who can do anything they want. A thought out universe requires realistic mechanics to be presentable and rp-able, which sometimes results in a bit more head ake for the players. They want to tell stories, they've got to do it within reason. That's my opinion on the matter.

You're going to need steering assist if you want to play steer heavy levels properly. Steer away from the barriors, but remember that one quick tap of the steering key is usually enough if you're going at a reasonable speed. That'll let you get past the barriors without crashing into the wall too often, and immediately let go of the key once you're past. Once you do that, steering assist should automatically put you back in the track center.

If you're younger than 3 years old, you can only age up. From 3 and on, you can talk to or spend time with your immediate family. You start unlocking a lot of things when you start school, and even more stuff in the next few years. At the age of 18, pretty much everything will be unlocked.

@43 fine. You've seen people rp the part when getting babies. It's still not a requirement. It should be though, because anything else just breaks rp. If you donate for a baby, you should have to say to the hosts whether it's an adopted child or a pregnancy. If you're a male and you plan for a pregnancy, you need to find a consenting partner. If you're female and plan a pregnancy, you need to either find a consenting partner or rp some form of artificial incemination/other method for larkans. Then you need to get a JAG officer to handle your case, do the psychological adoption tests, and fill out the paperwork if you're going for adoption, or rp the intercourse, pregnancy, and delivery all the way through, this being an rp plot that'll potentially take months based on your race's gestation time. You want a baby and you want it in a realistic game, be prepared to sit out the time it takes. Also it's cool that the MI will scream at you if you take your child into a combat situation, but there should be more consequences. You should be prosecuted, brought before a jag court, and fined or jailed accordingly for child endangerment, possibly with your baby being taken away since you obviously are too stupid to take care of it.

It's so weird though. They've done voiceover fixes in the past, like labeling the buttons on the main screen and making all the progress bars accessible. So they obviously know blind people are still playing. this is why I don't get why this minigame stuff isn't happening. And their pr people must be pretty on top of things from the amount of tweets they send out. But I think most of the time it just works this way: You send them a pretty picture of you playing, and if they like it enough they'll throw some sparkly little emoji your way and that's all you'll be getting out of them.

Meh. I'll probably log back in on july first to see people geeking out about how cr's 5 years old. See what happened in the last year. Don't see myself doing much more than that though.Regarding the baby thing, there are three main reasons why it's just stupid.First, there's no responsibility. Sure, most people are responsible with babies IC. But you don't have to. Nothing bad happens if you take your kid into dangerous situations. They can't get hurt, and the only way they die is if you neglect them. Even then, you can just get them recloned, and no one bats a fucking eye.Next, rp. If you want a baby, you pay for it, and poof, it lands in your inventory. No intercourse, no pregnancy, not even adoption paperwork. Just a magic little child floating through the sky.Finally, the system as a whole. What's the point? You have pets, and those make much more sense with the amount of responsibility you seem to have for animated creatures in this game. Babies do basically the same things as pets, with a different design. Pets get fed, cleaned, and they can do cool emotes if you have the right items. Hi, I've been trying to get some of Morakuma's text games to work recently, but I'm running into problems.I'm using JGT and the text game patch. I rename the executable to "play", then run launch.exe with the japanese locale emulator profile. When I do, the game opens for a second or so, then it crashes. Any ideas as to fixing this?

If you're in the level 40 range, I agree with sticking to pollution repair. You and nightshade can even do it together, and if you find that npc the help file talks about you can get a major storage upgrade for your vehicle. You'll get lots of points and levels from that, and it should get you past the more boring early space activities. Orbit harvesting is literally launch the ship, type orc, and either retype it a few times or wait if you have the right upgrades. The occasional scout rat will invade but spray bottles kill them instantly.That activity could have been made so much more interesting than it is now. It could have involved you avoiding large pieces of debris, orbiting stations, or other ships. It could have different movement and scanning mechanics similar to pollution repair. It could even involve you sorting out the various pieces of debris and using different methods to get it. Not all space trash is magnetic. Some of what you find may be still functioning orbital satellites you don't want to accidentally collect. With the way orbit harvesting works now, it seems every planet's entire orbit is so full of broken stuff all you need to do is extend a few rods and it'll all come flying at you. Nope, no realism at all here.

Also in bd3, as you kill enemies, the abilities of the sword increase. As it levels up, it will not only do more damage, but you will also increase its range. Once you reach a certain level, it can also pierce through multiple enemies like the battle spear. This means that, if you theoretically used it enough, it could soon obliterate entire stages.

Yup, I'd recommend you get to about rank 2-300 like Jason said. Activities in the lower level ranges are super tightly spaced so you always get something new to do. This will change, and especially in the hundreds, you'll start doing many ship-based activities that come down to flying to an object, typing a few commands, and waiting, while waiting for something to break so you can repair or adjust it and go back to what you were doing.I have two big problems with cr. The first is lore. Since you can describe and/or hand-craft basically anything without requiring host approval, you can do whatever you want concerning the universe's technology, culture, and your level of influence within that universe's culture. Example: Before I left, my character was building a factory. And from the descriptions of that factory, it was shaping up to be this luxury city for rich kids with a fetish for auld earth rome. And when I started building it, I was rank 200 or so and didn't have much to my name. I can still make something like the factory above, and if I want people to live there, I just have to say that there are lots of people there in the descriptions. I don't have to rp anything. I don't have to arrange for affluent people to move there, or even advertise its existence! I don't have to get permissions to build what is essentially a rich kid's retreat right in the middle of one of the main sectors. The free nature of cr's descriptions and room building allows for grave inconsistencies in the game's lore. And unless you submit your factories or inspections (which you don't even have to do for items), the hosts probably won't notice.My second gripe is favoritism. I've played multiple characters over the last 5 years off and on. The problem, it seems, never goes away. Most rp events that happen have to do with one or more of the enemy races. When that happens, the military swoop in and camp in the sector where the action takes place. Then they tell everyone to "clear out or we'll prosecute you." Or just to "shut up and let us handle it." The only solution to this is to either join the military yourself, or be lucky enough to find out someone from the military is crewing, so you can be on their ship when shit goes down. This doesn't foster a good rp environment. it doesn't give opportunities to the entire playerbase. It restricts fun rp to those who happen to be in an org, so joining an org is a requirement if you want to be involved in the story. On almost every htpc I've attended before I left, the favoritism question has been brought up. There have been numerous gripes about it which all got a lot of upvotes. But despite this, all we get from the hosts, be this at the htpcs or the gripes, is vague justifications, and in some cases, outright entitled wining because obviously, they know what's best for the rp plotlines.

There are 3 that come to mind, and they're all in the site's Database. Godville is a thing where you are a god and create a hero, and that hero goes on adventures on their own. You can encourage the hero, which regens their health and gives them good alignment that makes them heal faster, or punish them, which damages either them or a monster depending if they're fighting, and makes his alignment evil, so he does more damage over time. The messages and diary entries from the hero are pretty funny, and players can submit new content as well. Once the hero levels up enough, they can do things like battle other heros in an arena, own a pet, etc. Their main goal is to build a temple to you, which unlocks new ways of influincing your hero, but after that, they will also do other things like raiding dungeons, building an ark, and saving up money to run a shop.The second is Evolve incremental, which I've been playing a lot recently. You start in a prehistoric age where you create RNA and DNA, and basically create a species. After that, you manage that specie's civilization, researching techs, building buildings, fighting, and trading. The main goal of the game is to lead your species either to destruction or greatness. there are multiple ways to do this, you can wipe it out with nuclear weapons, send out a seedship to another planet, create a black hole, or ascend to a new reality, plus some other special methods. When you end a species, you get special currencies which you can spend in the next game to get advantages. There are also challenges, different scenarios such as a destroyed home planet, and lots of achievements. The Discord community is pretty helpful when it comes to discussing strategies and such.The final one is Nanno empire which you can play on ios. You control Nannobots, which can be used to make different parts of your own world. The main currencies are energy, followers, attack, and defense. There's a campaign to play through where you attack your way through 10 different enemies, as well as a side story that offers three aditional endings.There's one more game that isn'd in the db called Epitaph. It's where you continually discover new species, and have to try to get them into space before something horrible happens to them. @27 well... Tlou2 got all the bling bling this year. Speaking from a purely personal point of view it would have been cool if something more indilike could have been chosen, since I could actually tell the dev and they might appreciate it a bit more. It's a bit of an unfair race since Tlou2 is AAA, but here's the problem: The pool of noteable releases to draw from in one year for blind accessible things is simply too small to allow for multiple categories. If i had, e.g. done an indi game of the year and a AAA game of the year, tlou2 would have to run against nothing, because so far, it's the only one. Don't know exactly how well known 13 Centenals is in mainstream places, but sites like Kotaku or YouTube gaming channels haven't given it any attention so it sounds more indi than truely mainstream to me.

@25 please reread post 1. I clearly stated that only games that were more or less fully completed would be included. I'm more lenient on including mainstream games this year because more and more people seem to be going the mainstream route. The "other" option exists for a reason if you're not satisfied with what's there. That's literally all I can do.

@22 hades is a realtime game, so yes, it's mostly sound. There are passages of the game that are fiddly to get through, but people have done it. Plus, the voice acting and amount of dialogue in the game is pretty fenominal.

@5 Signal 9 is still in closed development as far as I know, so there's no info for those not on the dev team.And @4, I can't understand why someone would play a mud without any other players. They're made to be multiplayer, after all. How boring that must be...

Concering muds, the only ones that come to mind are Sindome, which is primarily rp centric and requires you to write a history in the style of an sc profile, and Cyber assault, which is kind of silly because of the alter Aeon coppies for certain areas and quests. Plus, I don't even know if Cyber Assault even has players still.There's a thing the sc devs have been advertising called Signal 9. It's supposed to be full on cyberpunk with things such as modding, player missions, character progression through rp and other things. Their rp system is kind of interesting, because you get these rp credits or something as you play and do things. These points or credits are supposed to let you create characters with better starting conditions or easier access to world-changing rp plot lines. Which means your first characters are going to be pretty unimportant, but if you rp well, and your characters will inevitabely die, you can create new ones with better connections and standings in life.Concerning browser games, I'm aware of a thing called Bitburner. You should find it if you google for it, it calls itself a cyberpunk incremental game where your main goal is to hack servers, upgrade machines, and eventually prestige for augmentations.Unfortunately, there aren't any audio games set in the same sphere. Imagine the awesome sound design a steampunk like audio game could have!Shit, this topic makes me wish 1077 was playable.
