Testing on all those versions would be a huge help! Once we have a finalized .apk for testing you'll definitely be the first to get it

When it is released you should be able to, yes! Unfortunately we're still unsure what the minimum android requirements are to play and we may not know for some time, or possibly not until after release since we don't have the resources to test different versions.

Re: Sound Stomp Audio Demo

We still need to do some testing to see what older versions of Android we can support, but we'll definitely try to support back to your version if we can! As for TalkBack we found that it interferes with the way our controls work on Android, but we're going to support playing with TalkBack on no matter how difficult since we realize how necessary it is for people to use their phones.I'll add you to our playtest list manually and you should receive updates on Sound Stomp when we they become available. Thank you for your interest!

Re: Sound Stomp Audio Demo

Hey folks! There will be a few different difficulty levels which change the pace of the game, ranging from easy to hard. We've yet to decide on what the changes will be for each of these, but they aren't set in stone. Most likely we will be changing the rate at which strings increase in length or the tempo. We're aiming for three different difficulties on release.Unfortunately we're growing more limited on time and development capabilities as the year goes on, so Gamecenter will not be a feature. Unlockables is something I am going to be looking into, since the possibility of unlocking different sound types to play with is exciting to me but may not make it in, not into the initial release anyway! We may be able to add it into an additional update down the road though.

Re: Teaser For Sound Stomp An Accessible Game for Mobile Devices

Phil,I understand your disappointment. We've been testing Sound Stomp lots recently and it is still being tweaked and changed constantly, so we were a bit hesitant to show off anything we're not satisfied with. I'll be working to get an audio demo up in the next few days so we can give a better idea of what the game is like. Both my partner and I are post secondary students and Sound Stomp is being worked on in our free time with student loan money helping us fund it out of pocket, so we're not relying on it to succeed too much. We're also working on setting up a donation link in the in game menu so people can pay for our work if they find themselves enjoying it. Thank you for the feedback, I'll try and get a demo up soon!

Re: Teaser For Sound Stomp An Accessible Game for Mobile Devices

How our core game works so far is that you will hear a string of sounds which correspond to different gestures play on either side of your headphones and you need to repeat what you hear on the proper sides. Our gameplay is still going through some tweaking and balancing, but hard mode will probably consist of a more quickly increase in the speed of the tempo you need to follow along to as well as longer strings to memorize. We'll definitely try to keep it challenging!

Re: Teaser For Sound Stomp An Accessible Game for Mobile Devices

Hello Lirin,Of course. Sound Stomp is a simple rhythm call and response game. If you've ever played Simon or other games where you memorize sounds or visuals it's a bit like that but with a beat to follow to. It has a fully voiced interface and multiple difficulty levels for different levels of skills, as well as sound by a professional sound designer we've been working with too. It's inspired by other more visual mobile games my partner and I have played and we're aiming to create something players can come back to play whenever they have a few minutes to spare.

Re: Accessible App/Game Pet Peeves?

I realize this is a very late reply and I am so sorry about that! I can't believe I didn't respond, I'm absolutely kicking myselfAll this information will be very useful still since we're currently working to redo our menu system once again. We've actually had many suggestion to use gyros and we're actually considering it as we develop more! Our primary concern with that is accuracy since our time with accelerometers haven't been very accurate but perhaps it would be much better with a gyroscope. We will definitely be considering it in our design since we also see how fun that could be tooWe will be using voice acting for menu systems and interfaces. We're developing in Unity and neither one of us have much experience with coding in xcode. Unfortunately Unity's support for accessibility is very lacking and unreliable, so we've mulled over our design time and time again.Your points about menu systems is v
ery informative as well! We considered a few of these things such as the flick system already, but we completely overlooked being able to skip little tutorials, something we'll be sure to fix soon.Thank you very much for the references too! We will be taking a look at those and studying them very closely. Thanks so much for the input. These are all elements we are going to look at very carefully over the next few months as we continue development and I'm so sorry for responding so late. You've been super helpful!

Accessible App/Game Pet Peeves?

Hello everybody, long time watcher but first time poster here!Over the past few months my partner and I have been working on developing an audio game for iOS and Android devices called Sound Stomp. It's a call-and-response game not entirely unlike Oroiol Gomez's awesome game Rhythm Rage but featuring a few different means of input. We were wondering in terms of accessibility if there any things you folks encounter in some of the apps you've used or games you've played that make them irritating, cumbersome or unpleasant to use? On the flip side, are there any features you've encountered on apps or games you use that you wish more games incorporated or tried to do better at?Thanks in advance folks!
