Re: eurofly a flight audio simulator from slovakia

hi.firstly I have sent my sounds to orin and he says he will put them on his website so they have a permanent place.I agree with everything that has been said, I both like and dislike eurofly at the same time. I have big periods where I don't play it at all because I dislike it's lack of realism so I use fsx. I know that it would be difficult to make an accurate simulation of a plane just through audio and a keyboard, but I was hoping for something more when I first got eurofly. Maybe that was wrong of me and I was expecting to much. Every so often now I go back to eurofly and enjoy the fun of flying a plane manually and change a couple of sounds, but then I get board again. I go back to fsx but i'm hoping the new version will at least be something new. I guess I owe a lot to eurofly, it was what got me into flight simming and showed me it was possible.. The new version will be interesting and I will definitely take a serious look at how far eurofly has
 come.

Hi, terbo speeds up the plane, all the way up to 10,000 KM per hour if you want it to. It's for if you have a really long flight but don't have the time to sit around waiting to reach the destination. When you are in the air and you have to be at full power, then control T turns it on. You can then increase the speed up to 10,000, but obviously this does also take a lot more fuel. It's Control T to turn it off and the speed will move back to the normal top speed. Declan.

this may help, here is a list of all volume commands.engine volume is shift and home to turn them up and control plus home to turn them down.you can turn the volume of the music up and down with shift F12 for up and control F12 for down. F12 on it's own switches the music off.You can change the volume of other planes around you with shift page up for up and control page up for down. You can regulate the volume of other transmiters with shift plus page down for up and control plus page down for down.shift plus end turns the airport sound up and control end turns it down.hope that helped, Declan.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

ok, so there could be quite a few reasons why it's beeping. It could be because you have audio navigation on, which is a basic mode of navigation in cat 1 aircraft. It means you will hear a beeping where your destination is relative to the aircraft, for example if the destination is to the left you would hear it to the left side. This is helpful during turns but not for the entire flight, try alt N to turn it off. If that doesn't work, there are 2 more things. The game by default beeps when you are close to a capital city or an airport. If it is this, then do control C and control B to turn those off, that's if the audio navigation thing doesn't work.I also found how to stop the nose moving so much. Find the eurofly.ini file in the eurofly folder, it may take a bit of finding, and then where it says joystick change the 1 to a 0. That should fix it.Declan.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

hi, here is the best method for avoiding countries. Use the letter J to find what country is in front of you. If it's the one you have to avoid then use u and I to see what's on the left and right of you and move across until that country is in front instead of the one you need to avoid. Keep checking to the left and right to make sure the country you need to avoid isn't getting closer. When it moves right off or goes completely, you can move back into ligne with your destination. As for the person who asked for those hotkeys to turn down some volumes, sorry I forget what they are. Take a look at the hotkeys document on the website, or it may be in the helpful tips. There are quite a few volumes you can turn down to make evering just right for you. I think someone also asked about how to set your start point of a flight. You will notice in tasks you are always positioned at the correct airport, but in free flight you are in Bratislava. To start from a di
fferent point, find the airport in the list and simply press enter on it. This has to be whilst on the ground with everything in the plane off and doors closed.Hope this helps, Declan.

I will shortly be doing a tutorial on everything, but until then when you here you are 2K away from the airport, do F1 and you will hear the landing clearance. Sometimes they may not give you clearance because the airport is too busy with other planes, in which case you can either move away and come back in or simply press F1 again which requests clearance again. If you just want to land then keep pressing till you get clearance, then flaps and gear down, nose to about -12 and you'll touchdown.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi, firstly, I do know, from being on the English Eurofly mailing list, that the dev is going to soon release a big update with more features. I can't say exactly what they are, partly because I don't know them all and partly because I don't even know if all of them, many of which were my suggestions, will be implemented. I would encourage those of you who want updates to join the list as the dev does sometimes post on their and you will get beta's of upcoming versions to test. As for the lagging, it could be due to winds. Maybe the game just isn't good at estimating the flightimes for longer flights. It's happened to me before, but there again it could be a bug. I will send an email to the dev as he usually replies to me, but not always.I am always making new planes, just made a Dassault Falcon 7x and some more Cessna's which I will upload soon. All I can say right now is the game is still under development it seems that m
ore things will be added, as it is not completely realistic at all yet.I will also recorde a tutorial showing you how to do all the important things, for example taking off, landing, avoiding points and auto systems for those who are just getting started. Expect it in a couple of days.Declan.

Re: eurofly a flight audio simulator from slovakia

hi, here's some tips. For finding runways, it really depends how far away the runway is. I would say about 55/60 is a good speed. If it's a cat 2 or 3 airport, you will be given a runway. Let's say it's A3, you would increase speed and you will hear a voice with beeping on the left or right telling you the name of the runway. When you hear a3, slow down until the voice is relatively loud and then do control left or right arrow in the direction of the runway you heard. The beeps you hear in flight are to indicate nearby airports or acapital citties, to turn them both off just do control c and control B, you will hear off when you do both hotkeys. To avoid countries, make sure you use j for what's in front, u for what's to the left and I for what's to the right. Move off to the left or the right until the country you want to avoid is no longer in front of you, and also keep checking it's not approaching your plane from the left
or the right. When your clear of it move back onto your normal flight path. Hope all of this helps.

@DracoSelene89 agree with nearly everything there. I too wrote to them in January and got no response, basicly saying the same things as you; the aircraft, the sounds, the awful flight model ETC. It's so disappointing that this game, which had potencial, is still exactly the same as it was when it was released. It seems to me they seem to want to just add more rubbish to the game, like airports, well yeah that's nice but why not try and get the basics right first. They won't listen to feedback and I can't see any change. I think, in the end, it might come down to someone who is good with creating games in the community having to do it, or this game will end up having a very short life. You can't just make a game, say it's for the blind and that makes it great, and then just abandon it adding in the occasional tower voice submitted to them by someone else and airports submitted to them also by other people. I thought, when it started, the game might be
come something great, now it's becoming really boring to play it. P.S, thanks for the aircraft suggestions, think someone made a DC4 and I put it in one of my uploaded folders but i'll have a go at the rest at some point. I'd rather have a game rich in detail and with fewer aircraft than the other way around but it's the only way I can make it more interesting right now by adding more planes.Edit: I just really want this game to advance and become something I know it could become with dedication from a dev. Fsx with IYP is good, but there's nothing like manually controlling an aircraft yourself, being able to make the inputs exactly how you want them. There's also nothing like eurofly in terms of a windows audiogame, which is why I really would like for it to continue getting better, just don't think it will happen sadly.

Completely agree, only found the game challenging for about a week and now I can play it in my sleep if I felt like it, plus it doesn't simulate flying at all. I thought i'd give the devs a chance as maybe improovments were coming but nothing other than updates that don't really matter or make a bit of difference. What do you want, more Douglas planes like dc8 or below, more Airbus like Airbus A330 or perhaps others like an Atr72 I was thinking.  No matter how many planes are made though by us it would be much better if more features were added. That's why I've switched to fsx with IYP instead, just in the process of learning that at the minute, much more realistic.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

@Telemachus it really depends on a lot of things like LordLundin said; what aircraft your flying, speed, distance. It's really down to your judgment. It's best to do it gradually or in one go closer to the airport. Let me play out a scenario for you to show you how I would do it.let's say I''m in a Boeing 747 (at 990 KMH) headed for an airport at 10,000 feet. At about 50 metres from the airport, I would start descending. because my speed is a little higher than normal, I would start to slow down at about 20/15 kilometres from the airport. In some cases though I have done it much later depending on the situation. In extreme situations, because I would consider myself to be very experienced, I have cut one or both engines on the game (wouldn't suggest this unless you really no what your doing and in a faster plane, you have to get your speed back and if you don't it will stall). I will always make sure I am at landing speed about
5/4 km from the airport. hope that helps

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

just a question for those of you who have made planes, when I do most of them they end up making a click sound when it reuses the audio in the game. How did you get rid of this, I have audacity and have tried the click remover and stuff but it still makes a click noise. Maybe it's not that loud, but on the planes other people have put up here it seems not to be there at all.

Here's a folder with some more revisions. @LordLundin I fixed the beachcraft, sorry I hadn't noticed before as I don't fly it that much.I've also added a DC3, and a new autopilotoff sound, pluss a slightly revised landing sound to make it sound more realistic.Link:https://www.dropbox.com/s/9gpf1ypj0ekag … s.zip?dl=0

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

@LordLundin, they are slightly but not much, some are just a little louder and I've been trying to remove that annoying clicking when it recycles the sound so it doesn't do it every couple of seconds, I have managed to do it on some but not completely.@blind-gamer ok so when taking off from an airport with multipul runways here's what you want to do. You will be given a runway, let's say A1. You taxi along until you here A1. If you are using headphones, which I highly recommend, then it will be on the left or the right side of you. The easiest way to turn and line up with it is to do control and left or right arrow depending on which side the beeping runway is on. You will hear it moving as the plane turns to face it and a ding when it has finished. To check you are defenitly lined up, press s to check your direction, if it says one of the 4 points North South East or West then you can just take off as normal.

We could also change takeoff successful to "positive rate" for example and the landing sound to the flare.

@blind-gamer there are some things you can do to check you have no pasengers to comply with the task. You may have boarded them by mistake with control W which boards and unboards pasengers. To check, do control enter to check the aircrafts properties and check the passenger count, if it says 0 you should be good to go. If this still doesn't work, then making sure the door is open press control W which will board pasengers and announce the number aboard, keep pressing until you hear 0.To anyone who has tried my sounds, the most recent ones uploaded today, then are there any that you think need major improovments or changes.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi, so I agree some of the sounds were crappy, so I have edited those that I think need editing. I changed the boeing 757 767 and 707, most of the Airbus's and all the MCDonnell douglas planes, as well as making the C5 galaxy more realistic, and the Cessna caravan (that one was done by a friend and I didn't check it, hence the random eloquence voice, but I have now changed sounds on that one anyway). The ones I have changed overall throughout the modding process can be found in the link below. I have no time left to check how all of them sound in use in eurofly, so if anyone wants to change them then feel free. Here's the link:https://www.dropbox.com/s/61cz6sqq0zxu3 … s.zip?dl=0I do agree also that we havn't seen many updates for a while to improve the game, a shame too because I think it has some potencial if worked upon. Maybe it's coming at some point, who knows.

ok thanks, i'll try looking for engine sounds, I think i'v been trying to do it so it's sounds like your actually inside the plane but that doesn't always work because there isn't sounds for that or every plane, the quieter planes are the most difficult to find and to turn into something that is just right. I think the crackles, especially on older or bigger planes, as you said, make it seem more realistic, and on others like Mcdonnell Douglas you can almost feel the plane vibrating.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

@DracoSelene ok, I will look at trying to make the c5 as you described. I didn't want to make it too loud, as @blindgamer said that can make it crackle. Not sure what you mean about the atc voices, you just get the towers you have installed, but I will certainly try and replace some more sounds in the audio folder. To @blindgamer, yep I had the same problems, but with me I was using audacity and every time I exported my sound it would make it quieter, so I was forever amplifying the sounds, which unfortunately made some crackle. Sorry about that, I am trying to change the ones that do it. For the sounds, I tried to get them off youtube, usually from inside the plane as that's how it would sound to the pilot, but this made them a little quieter than I had intended.

Hi, so I am posting in this topic too. I have made a mod for eurofly. Here is what I have done and a link to download:nearly all aircraft sounds have been changed, including boeing planes so they no longer all sound the same. I have made them all more realistic.I have added more planes (Learjet 45, Gulfstream G650, Airbus A340 and a Cessna Carovan). Note all of these are in category 3 so you can access the auto features if you would like.I have changed all the warnings. Pull up is now used instead of rise, master caution warning for nose angle, new out of fuel warning, TCAS descend voice used for descend warning. Here are the links to download the aircraft folder (with all new sounds and aircraft) and audio folder (with all new warnings). Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi, so I do enjoy playing eurofly, but it  was getting a little boring for me. Because of this, I decided to change some things around. I have basically modded the game. here is what I have done:I have changed almost every plane sound using ones from the internet to make it more realistic. (it took me a long time to find all the sounds but I did my best and I think every plane now sounds much better, including all the boeings which no longer have the same sounds as each other)I added a couple of new planes, like the learjet 45, a Cessna caravan,, gulfstream g650 and an airbus a340. Please note any planes I have added have been placed in category 3 so you will have full access to the planes automatic features if you should want to use them. The warnings I have added are the pull up warning instead of rise, master caution warning for nose angle, and another warning for low fuel. I also changed the crash sound, not sure if that's better than before but it's
certainly something different. I am not sure how to upload my mods here, I could just upload my audio folder and aircraft folder as that's where all the changes happened. Hope you will enjoy the changes I have made if I manage to get them uploaded some how, any tips would be great.Declan.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

Hi,I've only just managed to register here. I just want to give my thoughts on this game, the great things about it and the ways in which I think it could be improved.Firstly, I love this game. I'm really interested in aviation and so when I found this game in January just ready to use I was so excited. I'm now on task 35 and havn't looked back since, I've basicly played it every day. I've always wanted a flight simulator and of course I knew about Microsoft flight sim, but i'd heard it could be difficult to set up whilst also costing quite a bit depending on what addons you got for it.This game is great in that it is free and has a lot to offer, plus a lot of potential. In terms of what I think is good:1. The takeoff works well, as in you can experience the lift off and the acceleration of the aircraft.2. I have been able to experience the sounds and 'personalities' of different aircrafts I have
never flown in myself before.3. I can explore the world and find different places. It's especially interesting around my home city.I like being able to manually control the aircraft, checking altitude and speed and making sure everything is correct.Things I would like to see added or changed:1. The realism of the game needs quite a bit of work. In a real plane, you wouldn't just fuel up, extend flaps on one setting, turn on engines, set nose angle and take off. There would be a load more things to do, if not all then at least some of which could be implemented over time. This Is the same in flight. If you have automatic functions in the game, especially auto pilot, then there is little to do. Real pilots would have many checklists to do, not to mention ATC randomly telling you to go up and down. Maybe we could press a key to bring up the checklist for the time, which we would then carry out. I just think there could be more to do in the game t
o make it more immersive. Some sounds could be better too, like some aircrafts sounds not being completely realistic. There should also be some more warnings, like stall warning. It would also be nice to have real warnings like 'pull up' instead of 'rise'. Sounds like the landing sound are also not very realistic. The weather could also be improved, with realtime weather. For example, airports do not close or not allow you to land just because of light rain and the weather can be very unpredictable. These are not in any way criticisms of the game, just what I think could be improved. I know the game is free and the developers do it on their own time so these aren't going to happen overnight. I just think the game has a lot of potential and could be built upon to make something special, at least in my view. It could be a completely accessible, relatively realistic flight simulator, that could just be downloaded onto a computer that would work
  straight away.
