People should know what they pay for and I think getting the German version out to proof we have a quality game that is fun to play will really help to grow trust. In case we ask for money in before we want you to know where your money is going and that every dollar improves the quality of the game and not our living standards. An "all or nothing" kickstarter campaign would fit best to deal with this I guess. We really appreciate that some of you would donate tho!To think that the earnings of the German version will cover the costs would be illusional, but as Lukas already said it hopefully let us continue our work and speed up the process. Unfortunately we were forced to slow down the development and do a bit of freelancer work for other companies since we literally had nothing to eat. We survived and now we’re back on track! The German Version of Sound of Magic will be released on December 10. We really hope we sell a bunch and can continue the work on the (even more expensive) english version, so all of you can enjoy our adventure. We learned a lot during the recording and production work of the German localization and im confident this will be reflected in the English version. We reworked some content and are (finally) about to finish the story and narration part of the project soon. As soon as this is is the case we will hand over the scripts to our localization partner to translate everything from german into english. To be able to immediately start the recordings once we get it back we're also working on the voice actor cast right now. Programming is also almost finished at least for the mobile versions. Some of our closed beta participants from this forum already finished the game and most really took their time to deliver huge amount of feedback.Thanks guys, we really appreciate you taking your time to help us improve our game and also thanks for all the kind words about our game! This means very much to us and helps us keeping up the work.By now we already fixed most of the bugs and findings of the testers and preparing a major update.A core element of the test was accessibility since we have little to no previous experience in this area. To make a long story short: The blind testers that already hand in their feedback by now, had minor to no problems to play from start to finish (including the menu), which is great and eliminated our biggest concerns! We will wait and see how the others do but seems like in general we’re on the right track with our „one version for all“ concept. We will extending the beta phase for a short amount of time, to be able to get more feedback from people with different experience in games and also to validate the improvements of the upcoming update. This means we’re open for a few more applications. As before, you have to be visually impaired and fluid German language skills are required. Sound of Magic will be released in English as well as in German.Story and Setting:Sound of Magic takes place in a medieval fantasy world called Azalen, where you play the most evil wizard the world has ever seen. Everyone knows about you and your evil business that Azalen has suffered from for countless years … except you since you just lost your memory. Gameplay & Mechanics:The closest description would be “Immersive First-Person Audio Adventure with the mechanics of a traditional point and click game combined with a magic system but without any need for graphic” - but that might be too long and confusing to put it on the cover so I will try to break down our core vision.We mainly focused on combining fluid and highly interactive first person gameplay with the toolkit from classic adventure games (use, combine, …). Since you are a wizard there is a unique magic system on top that extends your abilities even further while you progress through the game. Although the overall storyline is linear, you will be able to move freely to discover the world of Azalen!Visual appearance & Accessibility:I’m proud to announce that we might have the best graphic engine in world – your imagination. Jokes aside, there are visual effects in the game for example when you cast a spell, but typically for audiogames they play a minor role. To be honest some of our beta testers didn’t notice since travelling through our fantasy world works best with headphones and closed eyes.Sound:Sound design is crucial to bring Audio games to life. We spared no efforts to handcraft thousands of sound effects and cut our programmers food ration to half to be able to hire good composers. All characters and creatures will be voice acted by professionals to get them the quality they (and especially you, the player) deserve.There is no definite release date but since we’re already in beta state I would expect the release date to be early next year (1Q2018).
