That's only true for free dropbox accounts, I believe a paid or pro account wouldn't have traffic or file lifetime limits.Anyway, that is why I'm hosting these files, when I can get them, from my Sendspace Pro account. Ever since I got Code Factory's Eloquence for SAPI, I don't really mind SAPI anymore because now it sounds like JAWS. Besides, I really believe that Eloquence is the best TTS voice available.Can you or anyone else tell me how I might get the game to use SAPI without having to run it? Or how about a list of keystrokes to press once the game has started? Does it store that information in an ini file or the registry? I can't run the game with JAWS running, and without JAWS there's no voice to guide me.I'd really like to try this game.

I decided to revisit this game.This time, the downloaded zip file with the update was where the game said it would be. Possible UAC interference last time?The BGT file I saw last time never showed up, or maybe it was a temporary file that hadn't been deleted? No clue, and not going to worry about it..I noticed in your readme file that the only supported screen reader is NVDA and SAPI. Really? I'd call that a slap in the face to users of every other screen reader and is rather close minded. Especially when you consider that it might actually work with other screen readers by simply setting SAPI as the default.Other screen reader users could switch off SAPI if they want to try it with their screen reader. As stated in the readme, the game becomes unresponsive when JAWS is running, but with very little work that most JAWS users will already know how to do, it could be made to work. First the game needs to be set to use SAPI from outside the game,
  better yet you could distribute the game already set up to use SAPI. Then all JAWS users would have to do is create application settings for the game and enable suspend mode.So the problem now is how to configure the game to use SAPI from outside the game.

I took a look at the zip file again, the bgt file isn't there, so it must have been generated by the game, sorry for the mistake.I never got to play the game because it automatically downloads the update, tells you where the file is, then exits. When I go looking for the update file where it says it is, there's nothing there!I eventually gave up and deleted the game. From the description, it's not worth the hassle.

Some one asked, so I'll answer. There's a .bgt file in the zip file so I'd guess he's using BGT. Mostly confirmed because he notes in the readme file that the game is unrestonsive if JAWS is being used. A well known problem with BGT and why I eventually abandoned it.Also, don't make the mistake I did and put the game inside the Program Files folder, it won't be able to save the update files because he save them in the same folder where the game is. As of Windows Vista and later, a poor programming practice.

Sounds interesting, downloading.I hope this turns out better than Entombed. Even though I went through the dungeons slowly and killed off every monster I encountered, the monsters grew too powerful to beat, and there was no way to find more battles to gain more experience. So in frustration I quit playing the game. I'd have been really annoyed if I had paid for the full version before discovering this problem with the game's design. And it seemed like a good game too.

Thanks, Dark! That was what I needed. Like you, I'm not interested in having to write a bunch of code to play a game, and I don't care for ggames that are so heavy on role playing that you end up spending more time managing your character's stats than actually playing the game.Being an avid reader, sound effects in a game would be nice, but story telling is always more important. I'm a huge fan of the Infocom adventures, especially the original Zork trilogy. That was and still is my favorite interactive fiction game.From what you've said, I believe I'll start with Mush Client since I don't want to spend any money yet on a genre I may end up not liking.That said, where can I find the needed add ons to make it more accessible when using JAWS?

If I recall correctly I think the M stands for multiplayer, does that mean all mud games are multiplayer games?I also recall that you need some kind of client to play them, are there any good free clients? @NickI don't know what DropBox error 404 means, but after 10 days, and many messages, I believe that the developer no longer cares.Speaking for myself, I have to wonder about a developer who uses what is apparently a podcast server to host their web site, and dropbox to host their files. Apparently, the only way anyone who wants this game will be able to get it, is if someone who successfully downloaded it, uploads it someplace where it can be downloaded. The problem with that is, would it be legal to do? Nathan Tech may not want other people distributing their game. I'm sorry but I have to side with Brad on this.I'm tired of being treated like a second class citizen just because I can't see. I'm tired of products that are inaccessible to the visually impaired and of products where accessibility is only an after thought instead of being designed in from the beginning.What's really disappointing and discouraging is how many visually impaired people are willing to accept the idea that they only deserve second class consideration from society. If it was the latter, try requesting the game again, I've only requested three games from them, but all three times they responded within a couple of days. Spoonbill Software probably asks people to email their requests for their software so they can track how many people are using which programs.I don't think that providing a way to circumvent Spoonbill Software's wishes is an appropriate way to say "Thank you" for making the software available at no cost.Too bad user karma doesn't have a thumbs down option.

Well, my previous message saying that there were problems between JAWS and Deal or No Deal, turns out to be a false alarm.As it turns out, my installation of JAWS was corrupted. Running the JAWS installer in repair mode fixed JAWS and the problem I was having with Deal or No Deal.In the two years I've been using JAWS, that's the first time I've had a problem with it.Sorry for the false alarm.

The conflict between JAWS and games written with BGT has apparently been around for quite a while.Basically the problem appears to be that keystrokes get eaten by JAWS and only rarely get passed through to the game. If you try to get around the problem by holding the key down using the repeat function, often more than one keystroke gets through which can produce unwanted results.If the game is fully self voiced or can be set up to use SAPI instead of the screen reader, the simple solution is to set up JAWS to go to sleep when the program written with BGT has the focus.A while back I was researching this problem to see if there was a work around I could use and ran across this. Whether it would help or not, I don't know because I never got very far with it.in the past to have games be playable with jaws running without the need to set jaws to go to sleep. The knowledge base number for this update is kb2973201.I'd be willing to let you check this problem out on my machine via remote control, however I'm not sure if you could experience it that way.Although Freedom Scientific says that they don't support doing this, you could always download JAWS from their web site and just use the trial version to do your testing.The problem is obvious enough that you'll be immediately aware of it.You'll press keys, but the game doesn't respond to them.

Well, this makes me wish this game hadn't been written with BGT or that the conflict between BGT and JAWS could be resolved.Deal or No Deal doesn't work with JAWS 17, though it worked with no problems with JAWS 16.
