Re: Three-D Velocity With Server Update

Hello All and specially Munawar,I posted this in the Issues Page on Gitube but got no answers and since I found this topic here I thought I would also post it here and see if I can get some help or suggestions. So here is it goes:I'm playing it on a PC running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit and Am using a T.otas PS3 Flightstick and the problems I'm having with the game are:1.Every Time I load the Game I get a error message saying there was a error mapping the keys or they have been mapped with a older Game version which makes Me having to assign keys to the Flight Stick every time I want to play. I deleted all folders I could find related to the demo Game I was using previously.2.If I select a type of Game, lets say for example Racing Mode I can play it for a while and sometimes the game just freezes, sounds keep playing but i cannot do anything with the controls, either using the Flight Stick or the keyboard and have to close the game.3.If I se
lect a type of Game and after playing it for a while I want to change to a different type of Game and click on start a new game it will always play whatever I was playing first, for example Training Mode...4.I cannot trottle down or deactivate the Afterburners... I can trottle up using the flightstick but it always goes into full trottle even if I barely touch it and automatically activates the afterburners. I can of course just activate the afterburners by pressing the corresponding key. But when I want to slow down the Plane and use the Flight Stick to trottle down it works as long as I'm twisting the rudder but as soon as i release it Airspeed goes up again and the afterburners kick-in making it impossible to manage fuel and of course slowing down the Plane for landing...

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

@xkill85,As I said in the other thread regarding this game and regarding Your question I think what You want will bring too much chatter to the Game and can be confusing and annoying. There are, as I and others have been saying, many other interesting features to make the Game more enjoyable. The Game has support for a Joystick if You use Joy to Key. I'm using it and I have a Thrustmaster t.flight Hotas Joystick and I configured the buttons to perform the different operations and read what I need to read and it works like a charm. The only problem I have and I believe it will be fixed soon is when I pull the stick to raise the nose handle I have to repeat that movement until I reach the desired handle and the same applies if I want to lower the nose handle. The right thing would be for the nose to go up or down constantly while the stick is being pushed or pulled. It will make it more realistic and more chalenging since the player would have to find the right handl
e and would have to master the art of take off and landing as well as turning the plane to the left or right.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

I'm trying Eurofly with a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas Joystick using Joy to Key and here is something i think the developpers could do to make it more realistic even when using just the keyboard. When using the Joystick to adjust the nose handle or the direction of the Plane I have to repeat the movement as many times as I need to set the proper nose handle or course which at least for Me is not practical or even fun...So I would like to suggest to the developpers a change in the game so the nose handle and the plane direction would keep changing for as long as the keys are pressed as it already happens with the keys used to accelerate and slow down the plane. When I'm using the Joystick the acceleration lever works just perfectly but to adjust direction, climb or descend I have to use the stick one step at a time which means I can't just pull or push it to raise or lower the nose handle or keep it to the left or right until I reach the desired direc
tion...The Game is really good and from what I tried Today is even better played with a joystick if this small changes can be made.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

@LordLundin,Yes, but no ATC at a given area tells You for example to climb from 6000 to 1000 and just a few minutes after that, when probably You haven't even reached that altitude and enter another Airport's air space receive instructions to descend to 4500 for example...I'm a frequent flyer and I don't see that happening either in Intercontinental flights or even in flights in European airspace.Again, the game is really good and I believe it will be improved in the future and I guess part of that could be more and different interaction with ATC before and during takeoff and landing, more tasks to be performed before, during and after flight, like more controls and checklists.Difference between day and night flights, using lights, taxi, park and so on. This game has very good chances of becomming one of the best Games designed for the Blind.

sid512 wrote:hi,I propose a balance between the constant climb and disend, and assigning a fixed altitude throughout the flight.we know for a fact that the game instructs the pilot to climb to 500 just after a designated level of 30/40. after the level is achieved, there comes a message to continue on the course until the tower assigns another altitude. the system seems not too bad compared to the real flights at this point. but the annoying aspect is constant climb and disend with a huge difference  in altitude. let's say a plane is flying at 500. the tower instructs it to climb to 3000 and the same is complied by the pilot. suppose the airport is a category 3 airport, and the flight is about to leave its airspace. the tower may then instruct the pilot to climb and maintain 8000. then, there could be smaller adjustments to make ranging from 500 to 1000, and less frequently than the current setting. now suppose a
flight has to cover a distance of 5000 km, and is comfortably flying at 8000 and has covered a thousand km. there is no logic when the tower asks to disend to 4000. however, a change in altitude from 8000 to 7500, or 7000 should not be a major pain. also, it may be annoying if the flight has covered 4800 km and is ordered to climb to 8000 from the current 5000 as it doesn't make any sense. so it would be nice to have realism, but in a more sensible manner than the current setting, based on the category of airports and the destination of the flight.I hope that the current map is improved upon by the developers, as numerous places are horribly misspelled and aren't located where they are supposed to be, ditto with a large amount of airports, specially in asia. let's hope the new airports are periodically added in as well along with other features.regards.You are right. It makes sense when its just a small adjustment in altitude an
d not as it is right now which I ignore. Usually I climb straight to 5000 and maintain that altitude until about 50Km from the destination Airport when I descend to 500 and then to 100.In the first tasks I would follow the Tower instructions and in one of them I had to climb to 1 and right after that I entered the destination Airport's air space and had to go to 100 when previously I was flying at 6000 and had to go to 1 and had to descend to 100... It was driving me nuts and then I decided I would just ignore those instructions from ATC because its not how it works in real flight.

Re: Eurofly, first geographical atlas and flight simulator for blinds

@Tapin,And how about introducing other things a pilot must do and control during a flight? It would bring more realism to the Game and avoid the constant climb and descend. Or if You really want to keep that, then the control Tower should not repeat that instruction more than 2 or 3 times unless in critical altitudes like lets say 500 or 100 and that kind of warning could be triggered if the Plane is flying above a certain speed also.Maybe You guys would consider a feature allowing more or less realism to the Game and that could be optional so players could choose if they want real time weather or real ATC instructions for example.I know its hard to please everyone and I know the Game is free but for flight simulation entusiasts like Me there is a lot missing on this Game. And if I was flying a Real Plane in a Intercontinental flight I would have to keep my but sitting on the Cockpit doing whatever tasks I had to do during those 5 hours or more and the Plane
would be flying in autopilot which is what happens in real flights.

Airplane Cockpits have a lot of things that are not present in this Game and that could be implemented. This is a Flight Simulator so it means it is supposed to simulate a Plane flying and all its interaction with Weather, other Planes and ATC. And in real flight no Control Tower instructs a Plane to climb and the next one instructs it to descend and so on. Try playing Microsoft Flight Simulator or Prepar 3d for example or watch videos about flight simulation games and maybe You will realize that although this Game is a really good game it has a lot of potential a

Now I could continue the tasks.I have some suggestions for future versions of Eurofly (especially in conjunction with nVDA an a braille display)I think these features would make the game more intuitively1. context sensitive flash messagesIt would make sense to link some airplane controlling commands to corresponding status messages which should be send to nvda every time the controlling commands are executed. Here are some examples:- whenever you put the nose up or down using the up and down arrow keys, the current nose angle should be send to nvda automatically.- whenever you change the course with the left and right arrow keys or a combination of shift or ctrl and the left or right arrow keys, the vurrent course (the output of the s command) should be send to nvda.- whenever you speed up or down with page
up or pagedown, the current speed (the output of the r command) should be sent to nvda.2. status monitoringThis is a little bit complicated to explain, but I'll try:-). a Status monitor can be used to keep multiple infos about your plane under control. The status monitor can be configured using 2 valuesa) an update interval which is used to send the status string result (see below) to nvda and keep the status monitor up to date. The interval should be given in milliseconds to get permanent status updates.b) a status format string which is replaced by the core output of some eurofly commands when updating the status monitor. The format string can for example contain variables like* $cn: the distance to the destination airport in meters (like the ctrl+n command)* $r: the current speed in km/h* $t: the current nose angle* $z: the current altitude* $s: the current course* $n: the direction towards the destination airport
(like the n command)For example, if you have to land a category 1 airplane and xou enter a format string like $r; $t; $z, the current speed and the current altitude are permamently updated when you enable the status monitor. I think the status monitor would transform a braille display into the equivalent of the real displays inside the cockpit:-).Happy developing:-).DaveHey! I'm not a NVDA user and I'm not sure if what You suggested would be really useful either with NVDA or even with Jaws wich is what I use. I get all that information by pressing the appropriate Keys and personally think all that information for those who do not have or use a Braille Display would be an unnecessary distraction and would bring some extra chatter to the Game which, again in My humble opinion is not that useful. There are many things that could be improved and introduced to the Game and many of those have been already addressed so I will
not go there again. One I would be happy to see in a future update is for example real time Weather which players could activate or not. A few Days ago I flew between 2 Cities here in Portugal where You don't get Snow at all and I was not cleared to land and take off due to bad Weather which was snow... Another interesting feature that could also be introduced and could also be optional is the hability for Us to talk to the Control Tower and ask for the necessary permitions. Some sort of Real ATC system like what is used by Microsoft Flight Simulator Players. And now time for what I've seen I've seen many other Players complaining: Its really annoying having to climb and descend so often when You change between different Airport Air Spaces... That does not happen in real flights and if it did Passengers would be really upset... In one of My last Missions every time I entered a Airport Air Space I was instructed to either climb or descend which I obviously ignore
d all the time because I was flying at 9000 Meters and would not descend to 6000 to be climbing to 7000 and then to 9000 again to be descending once again and so on...The Game is wonderful and has a lot of potential but should be kept as realistic as possible, specially because of Airplane entusiasts like Me and many others who have been ddreamming of a Flight simulator who could bring Us the joy of being behind the commands of an Airplane. And having said this there should be more Airplane commands and things We have to control all the time.

I land and slow the plane until it stops, retract flaps, kill the engines, unfasten the seat belt and open the door. Nothing happens...2. I land and just let the plane go and try to see with CTRL+N how much distance it went but it shows 0,000 all the time and if I don't do nothing it is as if the plane was just going down the runway forever...So what Am I doing wrong? Thanks in
